Fuuma no Kojirou

I do not know why, but I have had to repeatedly move this page back from Fūma no Kojirō to Fuuma no Kojirou. This is the spelling of the title of the manga when used by the URL of the official website of the drama it was turned into. I would think that the URL used by the live action show is enough, but you've moved it to "Fūma no Kojirō" as have other users. "Fuuma no Kojirou" is the only transliteration that I've ever found by any Japanese production company, as it's absent here, despite there being a Toei Animation OVA series. Why should Hepburn romanization be utilized when there is obviously another Romanization used?—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 22:51, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

As I wrote on the talk page, it has been argued that this is not the official romanization used by the live action production company. The only evidence of "Fuuma no Kojirou" being used is for the website URL, and this is likely due to the technical restrictions and difficulties of putting a site at fūmanokojirō.com (as macrons are difficult to type for many people). I can find nothing else showing any romanization. Therefore, WP:MOS-JA should apply. Perhaps this should be opened up to everyone at WT:MOS-JA instead of just here? I've rarely seen Hepburn romanization used at all in Japanese production companies for their romanized names. I know that Toei Company has a whole slew of English and romanized Japanese names for their shows, and none of those use macrons. The only instance where I've seen them used at all was on the henshin device in Zyuranger and in all of the materials for Go-onger (but these are only in my subject area). Obviously, the production company for the live action Fuuma chose "Fuuma no Kojirou" instead of "Fuma no Kojiro" or variations thereof.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 22:20, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

Is there any chance you could help with filling in the romaji titles over at List of Rurouni Kenshin episodes please (or rather, the lists linked on that page)? We have kanji and english titles, but not romaji titles, nor can I find any with google. I did find a site offering machine "translations", but I wouldn't like to use them without having them double checked. another romanization request

Hello, can you romanize "どうして君を好きになってしまったんだろう?" The title has been disputed (mainly in the article's edit history, not so much on the talk page). The current title is "Dōshite Kimi o Suki ni Natte Shimattandarō". Previous versions include "Dōshite Kimi wo Suki ni Natte Shimattandarō" and "Doushite Kimi wo Suki ni Natte Shimattandarou" but the title of the article was changed to the latest version to go according to the Hepburn romanization system. I guess the main problem right now is how to romanize the "を"... and I'd like a final say on the title before people start moving it again. Also... is it possible to delete "Dōshite Kimi o Suki ni Natte Shimmatandarō"? An editor misspelled the title during one of the moves and I didn't see it until I moved "Dōshite Kimi wo... Shimmatandarō?" to "Dōshite Kimi o... Shimmatandarō". By that time I had already edited that version when I meant to edit the other. I'm so sorry about the mess. Nasdijj

Hi

I found your name randomly on the list of Highly Active Admins, and hope you would be willing to give a moment of your time. Among other pages I have worked on is the page "Nasdijj". Over the weekend, a person calling themselves "Prairie Mary / Mary Scriver" has left several messages on the article's talk page, making statements that the article is biased and inaccurate. Because the article's semi-protected, she can't make any changes herself.

I have to say that reading some of her messages (especially inaccurate statements on my talk page) has left me a little set against her. Certainly right now because of real-life events I don't have the cool head required to decide which of the changes she wants made should be made, and whether she is right that the article is biased against the subject. It's entirely possible that I am manifesting bias, and it's unhealthy for me (the one accused of bias) to be deciding which of her changes to allow and which to deny.

Please could I ask you, as an experienced and cool-headed admin, to take a look at the article and the talk page and to judge which changes should be made?

I don't know if you protect pages, but since you're an admin, I have to ask you this as well. If you're not the right person, I would still appreciate your reply.

Negima!? is currently under three-day protection after a recent spike of vandalism on it, first one over a year after its previous protection. Can you extend the protection imposed on it, considering it has been targetted and vandalized several times within the last year and a half? I know that the original admin who imposed the protection, Skier Dude, will be out by the time this protection expires so I was hoping any admin can impose an extension for protection on an article. - 上村七美 (Nanami-chan) | talkback | contribs 16:06, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Needing your help

Hello, I've been going crazy trying to find someone who can help in editing Japanese to English on a couple of articles. Please, at least take a look at them: Keisuke Kuwata and Ryuichi Kawamura. Both are musicians.. Kuwata plays with the Southern All-Stars, and a great band of guitarists who call themselves Yamagen (山弦), a band currently featuring the talents of guitarists Hirokazu Ogura and Yoshiyuki Sahashi (佐橋佳幸 小倉博和 ). If you would please take a look at least at the first two articles, it would be appreciated. Yamagen do not have an article, however, if you check You Tube, there are plenty of great performances- they deserve mention somewhere but I can't really read Japanese. A note on 118.137.x.x - please reduce rangeblock size for better accessibility by legitimate users

The range belongs to a large broadband ISP in Indonesia which uses fixed IP addresses for its customers. The ISP is not only used by vandals but also by (a much larger amount of) legitimate users (which has the potential to become good Wikipedia contributors), therefore wide rangeblock (covering the entire block) will gives them difficulties as well as discouraging potential editors to start editing. Would you mind to reduce the block to particular known vandal IP addresses (and more as any other vandals do the act) and not the entire range? I kind of doubt that there will be anything earth-shatteringly different, but it'd be nice to be able to have a punt at incorporating the further readings as references instead. Hi Joe, I have to say that's a weak edit at Obama (disambiguation) - the only link in a dab entry should be the relevant topic, and that should be a bluelink. Under certain circumstances it is possible to allow redlinks, but a secondary link to the political party to which he is attached, regardless of colours, is not acceptable. I assume you're not personally interested in creating an article about this guy? I'm going to redirect his name to the party he represents which should sort things out. Very quick question

Sorry to bother you with this. I found your name through the trasnaltion requests page and I hope you don't think it improper of me to ask you this favor directly. I am interested in the translation of one specific word in connection to Nintendo video games. I've spelled out my question briefly here. I would have made a general request but I can't seem to find an area to request individual translations. Looking back at my question, I'm not sure it's clear what I want translated. To spell it out clearly: I was wondering what (if anything) either kururinpa (くるりんぱっ) or Kororinpa (コロリンパ) means. Why is the kanji so different for them when they seem to be such similar words? Is this a common phrase, a corruption of a common phrase, or just a nonsense word? I Never Thought the Day Would Come...

I have actually found an episode of Sennin Buraku on Nico Nico Douga. It appears to be a recording of a rerun of the show, from some local Japanese channel, and it's missing most of the intro (which is available on this Japanese DVD, along with an outro). Of course, it's in Japanese, with no subtitles... I wish I could download it and post it to YouTube...

Why did you do this edit? A lot of Japanese bands are known in all caps, and it says so on their pages (examples Flow, Last Alliance, etc.), and so are tons of anime (examples Naruto, Bleach, etc.), so why did you undo that one? Because there is no reason to list that they are known in ALL CAPS. If their name in Japan is the same as in English, then normal capitalization rules apply and there is no reason to even mention they are marketed in ALL CAPS in Japan. I know what you're saying. What I'm saying is that it makes no sense to undo it only for Asian Kung-Fu Generation, but not undo it for countless other bands, shows, etc. Writing out "Flow" is the same as writing out "FLOW". There's no point for it not to be point for it to be un-capitalized. If we're going to write "Naruto" out as "NARUTO" then mind as well make a mention that "Asian Kung-Fu Generation" prefers their name to be stylized as "ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION".

Liancourt Rocks

Wondering if there is permission needed or if you think there is a cause for concern on the layout of the actual page? Just seems a bit messy and long, regardless of the references. Would you mind me making some edits/re-structuring to try clean up the content(not remove) just maybe put a section to Korean and a section for Japan and then bundle the rest into the sections rather than the sporadic bits of information throughout? I've tried, but it's such a big mess it will take a while. Feel free to make the effort, though I recommend working on it in your userspace (someplace like User:CorrectlyContentious/Liancourt Rocks). Then, once you've got a decent amount done, post on Talk:Liancourt Rocks and ask people to comment on the changes. We can go from there. Alternate titles, and columns in Lists of articles

Hi Nihonjoe, you where one of the few people that helped to merg the N64 games lists and get the Japanese titles back onto the main list, but the discussioon has arrived again, and I'd like to invite you to contribute to the Talk:List of Nintendo 64 games#Removal of Alternate Titles and Number of Players where we are discussing the use of keeping alternate titles in the "List of...games" some have suggested that they take up too much space and that other columns could seem to be "useful only to fans", and other things that have been mentioned that, and other 'List of' talk pages. Kimitoshi Yamane

Hey Nihonjoe, I would really like your help on referencing and polishing up the Kimitoshi Yamane article that I just created, and which has just been tagged for speedy deletion by Collectorian. As you may know, Yamane is one of the most well-known mechanical designers around and all I did was just translate it from the Japanese Wikipedia, and as you will know very well, there are hardly any referenced articles there. Since I always follow your model for Japanese articles on here and since there are so many anime people based articles that haven't been translated, I would really appreciate your assistance. Yamane will most surely be mentioned in Newtype and Animage, and most recently for his involvement in Bounen no Xam'd - I believe there was an article on it on those two magazines not so long ago, and there are probably gazillions of other references around the web which I don't know that well, unfortunately. Also, any reference that I'm adding are always removed and even interviews with Yamane on DVD or VHS issues of the shows that he has worked on are disregarded. This is getting a little stressful as I've just returned from a long break and I don't have any of the old Newtype or Animage issues that deal with Yamane's involvement with Bebop and Escaflowne. I really don't know which references to add apart from those and since the article has been speedy-tagged it isn't helping that I don't have anny issues. Thankfully, just as I was writing this, the speedy delete claim was declined by a neutral admin who finally saw through this, and thankfully he's given us some time. Removing pages that contain private information

Is there a way I can remove these [1] (which is still in the article), [2] from the archives and subsequently the article Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kimitoshi Yamane itself? I added the latter as a mistake and the former to verify the reference I added in the article and since the user has seen it, I don't see any use for that anymore, and it does contain personal information. ImageShack.us unfortunately does not remove images immediately and apparently takes 12-24 hours for the request to be processed (they have an email request form), however I have emailed them and hopefully they will remove them. I'm disappointed that you as an administrator haven't taken time to give your own reasons, given that you took time to comment. The false reasoning by Jim Butler was to draw conclusions about how other editors would respond, to assert that I am not capable of cooperative editing (his own statements and my history belie that) and to attack my credibility by sneering that I mistakenly said his extreme views on acupuncture were not supported by the WHO. When his error was pointed out to him he then said it was irrelevant. I'd therefore be grateful for your reasons or for you to reassess and change your mind.
