Deleted Page Inquiry

Just a question why you would delete the Iceland Pure Spring Water page, but pages for Fiji, Evian, Ozarka, Aquapod, Propel, Aquafina, Dasani, the private label Sam's Choice (for Wal-Mart), and dozens of other bottled waters exist in Wikipedia. Don't delete one page, when the page that was created used the same format as another existing page and provided the same info. Deleted Dark Nemesis Studios

Actually, the page had been around for about 5 days, and still had nothing asserting notability, so it failed criterion Articles #7. Even if it had met that criteria, the article was a blatant advertisement for the studio, and therefore failed General criterion #11. Deleted Major General

I notice you have deleted a page on frederick Hadow as not notable. He was a major general in the british army. I wonder how senior one has to be to be deemed notable by your good self? There have likely been thousands of major generals in the British Army, and not all of them are notable. Did Hadow do something of special note? If so, then I'm willing to restore the page. I did not write the page, but I would strongly refute the notion that there have been thousands of major generals in the british army, in particular the Indian army and those present at the Mutiny of 1857. This revolt was a significant turning point in English and, especially, Indian history. Sorry to be so frank, but your manor of instantly deleting pages which have been created by people with interests and specialist knowledges different from your own smacks of what can only term "wikifascism". Don't put the page back up. Instead I ask one thing from you: that prior to wiping other people's work from the internet that you first ask yourself if this is a subject that you are really qualified to arbitrate upon. How would putting the page back up be a humiliation? Also, please be civil in your interactions with others. Calling me a facist just because I deleted an article that did not assert notability, that's just plain rude. Please also note that while you may have originally created the article, you do not own the article. Your accusations

Nothing backhanded about it. True, accurate, and useful in keeping track of who is causing these problems.

Now, if you had enough sense to take the hint, and go fix things like the misindexing created by your moves of Shōnen (disambiguation), Ōtsuka, and Sentō, you might gain a modicum of credibility. Even worse yet are the ones deliberately missorted by you, as in this edit of Ema Tōyama.

You've never left any sort of message on my talk page about this. I only noticed the edit summary because I happened to glance at the edit summary while scanning my watchlist. Your comments in that edit summary, and your lack of civility in your comments above (stating that it's fortunate that some things I've done have been reverted or changed, or that I don't have "enough sense to take the hint", for instance) are not helping matters any. Please, if you want me to know something, or have a question about something I've done, place a polite inquiry about it on my talk page.
I've said many times here that I'm not perfect, and that I make mistakes sometimes. I'm sure even you make mistakes on occasion. Also, to answer your questions about the specific articles mentioned above:
  • Shōnen (disambiguation) - this one I just forgot to do the catsorting
  • Ōtsuka - this is a disambiguation page and, as far as I know, I have no control over how it sorts. The only cats on the page are placed there by the {{disambig}} template
  • Sentō - same as the first one: I just forgot to do the catsorting
  • Ema Tōyama - read the talk page and you'll see about this one. The catsorting was just a small oversight when I was replacing the instances of "Tooyama" with "Tōyama".

Well, Gene is correct in that I forgot to do the catsorting. It was a mistake, albeit a small one that's easily fixed (and has been fixed now). Well, a few good things came out of it: the sorting was fixed on those, and I found out about {{DEFAULTSORT}}, of which I had not been aware. This seems to work well on {{disambig}} pages in order to get them to sort right. So, maybe we should just incorporate that into the WP:MOS-JA as it would make the pages sort correctly under stubs as well. The "Yayoi" passage in Japan; see Talk:Japan#Suggesting "China and Korea"

I was hoping that you can comment again, regarding where the "Yayoi" came from, at Talk:Japan#Suggesting "China and Korea"?

Our current discussion is between the following 2 choices:

Option 1 — Most recent consensus (as of 3 January 2007)...
  • The Yayoi period, starting around the third century BC, introduced new practices, such as wet-rice farming, iron and bronze-making and a new style of pottery, brought by migrants from the Chinese mainland and the Korean peninsula. With the development of Yayoi culture, a predominantly agricultural society emerged on the Japanese archipelago.
  • The points that differ are: "from the Chinese mainland and the Korean peninsula" in the 1st sentence, and "on the Japanese archipelago" in the 2nd sentence.
  • Pros: Some of us claim this is the more stable and accurate wording, using "Korean peninsula" instead of "Korea", and will prevent any potential revert-wars.
  • Cons: Detractors claim it is "original research" to replace "China", "Korea", and "Japan" with "the Chinese mainland", "the Korean peninsula", and "the Japanese archipelago", based on wording used by the majority of sources.
  • This wording was agreed upon (on 3 Jan.) by the 5 of us: Endroit, Jefu, HongQiGong, LordAmeth, and John Smith's.
Option 2 — Currently suggested wording...

The list of article related to scientific skepticism

Comment The List of articles related to quackery was a stand alone list without any references or organization. It was a long and unfocused list. Now, a new and different "shorter and more focused list" with verifiable references meets every aspect of Wikipedia gudleines. The List of articles related to scientific skepticism as gone through a "massive remodeling". Everything has been categorized, organized, and well written. It was NOT a re-creation of the list of article related to quackery. This was an amended list that has gone through a massive change. I invite you to look at the histroy for the PROOF. After reviewing this, I found that I had been viewing the incorrect article version when comparing them. I have therefore restored the article and removed the speedy tag. It still needs to go through the AfD process, however. I think it would be premature to delete this article. I want the article "chopped in half" by experience editors. I realize I made the list too long. My fault. One person's mistake should not be grounds for delete. Another editors clean up could make all the difference. If you know what to delete please help. I'd have expected a better, detailed idea of what you wanted to achieve as a b'crat. I've seen a few noms where the nominees went into great detail about how they'd do their job and what specific area they would be working on, what specifically would their philosophy and judgment be, etc. One guy a couple of months ago talked at length about how he'd help out at the bots pages. Another guy went into great detail about what construes a consensus, etc. Again, its a case where I didn't see any explanation or detailed discussion coming from you in comparison to Taxman, a simple opinion-giver (to substitute the term, "voter") and a serving b'crat. I just didn't feel that you had any hunger or drive behind this nom. But make no mistake, you were a good candidate and you can easily become a b'crat, if you request it showing some actual need for you to get those extra buttons. Don't take my opinion too seriously, Rama's arrow 22:39, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

I found Taxman's comments to be borderline or outright COI (just as he indicated himself), but there's not really anything I can (or could) do about it except wait a while and try again. Hitomi Takahashi (singer) is much better now. It does, however, need many mmore inline citations for the various claims and facts in the article. I recommend using <ref>{{cite}}</ref> tags. With that out of the way, please read the notability and reliable sources guidelines for information on what needs to be done to propoerly source an article in order to show notability. Alex/ChemAxon

Hi, I wanted to find out why you keep deleting my article. I understand that you consider it an advert but I cannot understand why these examples 1, 2 are any different yet they exist. I again updated the page here :http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alex_Allardyce/ChemAxon is this acceptable? We do have many scientific citations those these are rather incidental to the company (being focused on the products performance) but I cannot see a way of ingratiating these references into the text.
