Hello Nihonjoe, thanks for your note. I appreciate your kind comments and constructive feedback. My editing pattern on Wikipedia is largely due to personal choice, of course, but has in part been influenced by past incidents. Some of the subjects I have worked on, such as those related to Korean martial arts, tend to be contentious in one way or another. With the editing pattern I use, if other contributors disagree with some of my edits, it is straightforward for them to target the exact changes they disagree with. I have also been on the other side, where someone has made substantial changes in one edit and it has been more work for me to disentangle things. I appreciate your comment on others trying to make edits at the same time, but it has only happened to me once (to a significant extent)—and in that particular case, both of us were working together (with mutual awareness) to prepare the article for GA review. For whatever reason (e.g., time of day), I don't find that I clash with other editors on this point, but I am aware of the potential for unintended clashing. Thanks again for your note. Stop wasting my time

Being an admin is a volunteer job and you're not being forced to do anything, so if you're unwilling, unable, or just too lazy to do the job you signed up for, perhaps you should leave it to those many, many admins who are willing to actually do so. Go do something else productive.

Even more to the point, the source of these "stale" -- what a meaningless term that is -- reports are from the "New Pages" unpatrolled backlog -- exactly as suggested on the page itself. There's also another quote you may want to note, from the UAA page to which you're posting: "Accounts that haven't edited in 3 weeks or more should not be reported." Being an admin doesn't mean blocking everyone who gets reported to UAA or AIV or deleting everything that arrives at CSD. It means making a decision based on facts and policy. Based on the current set up, accounts that haven't edited in some time don't need to be blocked. So we must decline to block, which does indeed take up some of our time. Tactical Hapkido

You apparently deleted the page I posted last week calling it "blatant spam" ... I put in for a user name change from revadburns to Andrew D Burns so that it would be a valid user account, but that apparently didn't take either.

Of course, I did not copy and save the data on the page, so it's lost forever?

Is there a way to get the page data back so when it's re-submitted that I don't have to spend the hours it took to build it all over again?

Your requested username won't work because all you're doing here is advertising for yourself and your ministry. That is specifically disallowed (see WP:NOTADVERTISING, WP:AUTOBIOGRAPHY, and WP:COI for more details). Protected area stub sort Shikotsu-Toya

Hi there. I do not think it is necessary to add the stub sort template for protected areas to the individual features within Shikotsu-Toya National Park: Lake Tōya‎, Showashinzan‎, Mount Yōtei, Mount Tarumae‎, Mount Fuppushi‎, Mount Eniwa‎, and Lake Kuttara‎. The article for the national park already has the template and that is enough. If you start labelling individual features, then where do you stop? But a mountain and a lake are not protected areas per se. OK towns are perhaps a little extreme, but there are times that villages are considered cultural properties within a park, right? I do not see that there is a clear line where you stop marking the articles. In my opinion it makes sense to tag the article that is directly about the protected area. Mountains and lakes are very often protected areas. There are thousands of protected mountains and lakes all around the world. As for a "line", do you see me marking train stations, towns, and ropeways? The tag is meant to mark protected natural areas such as national/quasinational parks, and (if there are articles on them) protected natural areas within those parks. There is nothing wrong with having more than one stub tag on an article, and you can clearly see I'm not tagging everything in sight with the stub tag. I've been around the block a few times, so please give me the benefit of the doubt here. I'm not going to go crazy and tag everything in Hokkaidō. Correct redirect

Hi Nihonjoe, I was wondering about Ganogerma lucidum. It was a redirect to Lingzhi, but since that is now itself a redirect I changed it to redirect to Lingzhi mushroom. However I noticed that the correct spelling of the mushroom is Ganoderma lucidum (d not g) which is already a redirect. Is the Ganogerma spelling a likely error for a redirect? Disruptive editing at this article

Hi there. Would you please be so kind and look thoroughly into this issue? There's an editor who keeps changing the type of album from "studio" to "demo" on this article. He has no reliable verifiable sources to back up his edits, he tried unsuccessfully to have the article deleted alltogether.

The editor has a long history of disruptive editing, blocks, topic bans etc. As his own account is already blemished as such, he basically has nothing to lose if he receives a further block for edit war. This is why I believe he is so adamant in continuing his reverts, wanting to engage me in an edit war.

I am asking you, and have sent the same message to other admins online, to please thoroughly look into this issue. I have reported the whole incident to both Ani and Avi, yet to no avail. Thank you. Amsaim (talk) 21:00, 29 April 2010 (UTC)

As you placed the tag about nine hours before it was deleted, and you never bothered to explain why it shouldn't be deleted, it was deleted because it "unquestionably [met] the speedy deletion criteria". I created a page for Journey Healing Centers but it was deleted because it was Ambiguous and advertising. I'd like to post the page but don't want it to be advertising, just informative. Speedy Deletion of Ric McIver

Hello. A couple days ago you fulfilled a speedy deletion request for the article Ric McIver. It had been nominated by user btphelps, who claimed it did not meet notability guidelines. However, a review of WP:POLITICIAN notes that "Major local political figures who have received significant press coverage. Generally speaking, mayors are likely to meet this criterion, as are members of the main citywide government or council of a major metropolitan city." Ric McIver is currently an alderman on the City of Calgary Council, and has also received a significant amount of media coverage for his leading bid to become mayor in the upcoming local elections. Both of these facts were clearly indicated in the article, a copy of which has been saved to User:Dbo789/Ric McIver. BennuGD deletion

I was writing an article stub on the BennuGD programming language. For the starting text, I copied text from http://www.bennugd.org/?q=node/4 where no copyright info was available at the time of the copy. After being warned about Copyright infringement in the article, I talked to the BennuGD site admin so that he could add license (CC-BY-SA 3.0) info to the site. As I believe that the copyright infringement issue has been solved, would it be possible for the page to be restored?.

Deletion of Asian heart Institute

How does one write a complete article on one of India's leading hospitals without it sounding like an "unambiguous advertisement"? If you were a cardiac patient in Mumbai you would quite unambiguously elect to be operated here. Because they have a mortality rate of 0.3% and are famous for successfully operating on patients who were considered inoperative. You could have tempered your editorial zeal until the complete article was uploaded. There are multiple constituencies that seek information on last-resort cardiac care, some of which are desperately looking to save their own life or the life of a loved one. AHI has patients from many countries who fly in just to be operated here. AHI doesn't need Wikipedia advertising, it has been in operation for 7 years and till last weekend did not even know it was not on Wikipedia. I was trying to contribute to Wikipedia, not to AHI. Apparently the article did not demonstrate importance of the subject when you deleted it. However I had cited references to numerous online sources indicating the subject's exposure, such as top 10's poll, modelling portfolio and so on. IMDB, brianx.com, and MySpace can not be used to establish notability as they are not considered reliable sources. Being named in a website poll is not grounds for inclusion, either. Doesn't really answer the question. Kataxenna has arguably more sources than Masuimi Max, but the Masuimi Max page simply has a warning that it needs more sources. NihonJoe, Thank you for reviewing my page Generation Vet. I added the significance of my story to the page, but was disappointed to find that it was not enough to save it. Maybe you can help me best articulate what it is I'm trying to accomplish. Generation Vet, while told in the format of a Web comic, is designed to capture a major demographic/cultural shift within the animal health industry in the United States. It reflects how the new generation, technology and people's changing attitudes about animals look today compared to what many people may remember.

I want to create a page that is as unbiased as possible, and has information that veterinarians would appreciate seeing. What advice do you have to create such a page? I appreciate your help. The problem with the article as it was created is that it sounded like marketing copy, and it had no references at all. All articles are required to have third-party reliable sources which can be used to verify the [[WP:N|notability of the article subject. You may wish to review Wikipedia:Your first article for more information on making your first article. Please also keep in mind our conflict of interest guidelines as it appears that you have some sort of direct connection with the subject of the article. User:930913 page deleted by you

I made that page and the talk page to redirect to my page since it is my usual username. Since some sites, including Wikipedia demand an initial letter, a930913 is the username I use. Given that nobody else can have the username 930913, I took that to forward to my page. It was clearly noted down on the page to contact me before deletion. Two other administrators have condoned it but now you have protected it from me having it. Please can you make it again. It would be helpful if you could somehow protect it from other administrators. If you wish to use them, you should place a request at Wikipedia:Request an account in order to have the account created for you so you can then redirect the pages to your actual username. Alternately, you can request that your account be renamed by placing a request at WP:CHUS (this will likely be the quickest route to achieve what you want done). Perhaps there is a way we could work to putting it up, as I believe Strip is a growing phenomenon and a company that warrants equal publishing on Wikipedia such as other Singaporean companies that are already on it, such as Old Chang Kee, BreadTalk etc.

Either provide a valid source or stop adding the "supposed" back to the Versailles page. 2 channel and other "musician name" sites are not valid sources. I meant "supposed name" as in that Kageyama Youichi/Yuuichi that keeps getting added back. I don't care how long you've been editing; that holds no weight in this situation.

Anyway, back to the matter at hand--I went back and noticed that yet again an anonymous user added the name, then a user deleted everything, then you simply reverted it, so I apologize for the original comment, as you were caught up in the middle of this completely unaware. I'm just really tired of the anons adding this fake name back again and again. Thanks for explaining that. I've always thought this {{Nihongo}} template with a barely visible question mark is too subtle compared to other others like {{Zh}} with clear hyperlinks. I'm guessing that upwards of 70-80% of those using the web have an OS installed which will automatically display the Japanese characters with no action on the part of the end user. It's not a false accusation as the diffs clearly show. It's not vandalism to remove a {{coi}} tag, especially when you didn't bother indicating why there was a conflict of interest on such broad topics as those. This is very clearly an editing dispute, not a case of vandalism, and you should therefore (as I indicated above), follow the directions for resolving a dispute. This is more often categorized as a breach of the policy assume good faith, and in particular, repeated unjustified "warnings" may also be viewed as a breach of civility." Going over said editors contributions I find that there are some causes for concern. I'm not accusing said editor of anything yet, I am just requesting that his contributions be looked over to make sure that he is not purposely degrading the quality of Wikipedia. I'm sorry, but I have never seen Farix do anything to purposely degrade the encyclopedia in the four years he's been here. Not even once. I think I have a pretty good handle on how he edits since we often work in the same areas and often work together on things. Unless he has a sudden personality change (which is unlikely, all things considered), he's not going to ever do anything to damage it. We've had our fair share of disagreements on things here, too, so it's not like I'm playing "Yes Man" to him. You reported him to AIV directly after he removed those COI tags, so what am I supposed to think your reasoning is for doing it? You keep butting heads with him, and (from my view) goading him to try and get him upset and acting out of passion rather than reason. You need to calm down, back off, and evaluate exactly what it is you're trying to accomplish here. My major cause for concern is that said user has quite a bit of reversions on their contribution history. I have dealt with vandals and whatnot before and I do not revert as many edits. Since you say that this user is not harming Wikipedia I will take your word for it and remind you that vouching for another user also puts your own reputation on the line. This case is not black and white and I honestly do not want to put much work into it, if this user is a problem then it will come to light sooner or later.
