This is a list of redirects that have been proposed for deletion or other action on July 14, 2019.

Rito (race)[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. — JJMC89(T·C) 03:24, 23 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Improperly disambiguated; it would require the (fictional race) to clarify that it is not in fact a real race. Confusing redirect, should be deleted. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 23:49, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of the debate. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page.

Legendary Blade[edit]

Overly vague of a fantasy term to point here. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 23:45, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete, too vague. Noble Sword gets a mention in a character bio but not in the article for the game it appears in. Cannot justify a redirect. —Xezbeth (talk) 06:27, 15 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Too general. — the Man in Question (in question) 20:35, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

RasPutin[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. — JJMC89(T·C) 03:24, 23 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This is an unlikely typo of Rasputin. It receives a fair number of pageviews because it is the first likely option listed in the popup window when someone searches for "rasputin" (looking for Grigori Rasputin). It appears this redirect is actually suppressing the much-more-appropriate "Rasputin" in the search popup. CThomas3 (talk) 23:27, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of the debate. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page.

Recurring enemies in The Legend of Zelda series[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was speedy retarget to Recurring enemies in The Legend of Zelda. Withdrawn by nominator per the creator's comment. (non-admin closure) ZXCVBNM (TALK) 23:34, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I can tell only characters are mentioned in the list, not "recurring enemies". ZXCVBNM (TALK) 23:24, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords subseries characters[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete. — JJMC89(T·C) 03:24, 23 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The use of "subseries" here makes it implausible as a redirect. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 23:22, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of the debate. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page.

List of Tingle-related characters[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. -- Tavix (talk) 20:17, 25 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

While the content has actually been merged into Tingle, this is an implausible redirect and looking at the pageviews, almost no one searches for such a specific list. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 23:12, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete all A term that is near-impossible to search if doing research on the subject. Also, "Tingle" can mean more than the character. AmericanAir88(talk) 17:45, 25 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Mohammad Irfan (cricketer)[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was keep. TheSandDoctor Talk 06:04, 22 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

User:Störm moved page Mohammad Irfan to Mohammad Irfan (cricketer) by reason that he is not primary. But this was reverted after User:StAnselm's request. I re-targeted Mohammad Irfan (cricketer) to Mohammad Irfan (disambiguation) by reason of many cricketers named Mohammad Irfan. But User:StAnselm re-targeted to Mohammad Irfan. Mohammad Irfan already occupies itself as the primary topic. I want to retarget to Mohammad Irfan (disambiguation) or delete. Sawol (talk) 21:16, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

But if the cricketer is the primary topic for Mohammad Irfan, then obviously he is the primary topic for Mohammad Irfan (cricketer). StAnselm (talk) 22:34, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. Of the list of Mohammad Irfans at the disambiguation page, there are 6 cricketers, and I follow StAnselm's logic. I've made a new, more comprehensive, hatnote at the base name (and also deleted invalid entries from the dab page). Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 09:28, 16 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per StAnselm's comment. Utopes (talk) 17:53, 18 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was keep. TheSandDoctor Talk 06:03, 22 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Spacing errors. Redirects like this have been rejected before (for example, § James M.Cox, Jr., § Rodham,Hillary, § List of Wii Ugames, § Pauloftarsus, etc.). — the Man in Question (in question) 20:27, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep, harmless, reasonably likely typos. —Kusma (t·c) 17:45, 18 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep for the same logic as Kusma, forgetting a space is a common misspelling to make, and it would be reasonable to think that these redirects are still used. Utopes (talk) 17:59, 18 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The above discussion is preserved as an archive of the debate. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page.

Dr.martin luther king jr.[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was keep. TheSandDoctor Talk 06:02, 22 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Spacing error. There is an abundance of Martin Luther King redirects, and this one is unhelpful. Compare § James M.Cox, Jr., § Rodham,Hillary, § List of Wii Ugames, § Pauloftarsus, etc. — the Man in Question (in question) 20:23, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep as harmless. It is obvious that someone typing this is looking for the article on Martin Luther King Jr.. The fact that there are other redirects to Martin Luther King Jr. is irrelevant. -- Tavix (talk) 21:45, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep, forgetting a space isn't hard to do, regardless of where the space is. In this redirect, the missing space happens to be at "r.m", which I bet at least one person has typed before, hence the existence of the redirect. I see no problems here. Utopes (talk) 17:48, 18 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Queen Victoria I[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was keep. TheSandDoctor Talk 06:02, 22 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

There is no Queen Victoria II. WP:CRYSTAL. A Pandora's Box, since this could be applied to any monarch, political leader, etc. — the Man in Question (in question) 20:08, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep This isn't about CRYSTAL, but plausible redirects and pipes. "Vict. I" for instance would be in the name of legislation passed in 1837–8 and might be linked from an article about such legislation. As for the others, just because we know there is no I without II, doesn't mean that all editors ever seeking to link to Victoria in passing know that. DBD 20:24, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. These are plausible because it's common in some realms to use "the first" even if there is only a single ruler with this name. See Regnal number#"The first" for more information. -- Tavix (talk) 21:40, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep, Queen Victoria is still the first Victoria, regardless if there aren't any more after or not. The redirects are fine. Utopes (talk) 17:49, 18 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Not a common nickname for Arnold Schwarzenegger. There are many Arnold S.'s (such as Arnold Schoenberg, Arnold Sommerfeld, Arnold Stang, Arnold Sodeman, etc.). Delete to allow the search engine to do its work. — the Man in Question (in question) 20:05, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete far to many possibilities an no evidence that anyone is regularly know by this bane.--64.229.166.98 (talk) 20:15, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Speedy Delete Blatant violation of redirects. AmericanAir88(talk) 16:11, 15 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

No mention in target article. — the Man in Question (in question) 20:04, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Unlikely misspelling. Meanwhile, as there are people actually named "David Peckham", WP:SURPRISE. — the Man in Question (in question) 20:03, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Note: This discussion has been included in WikiProject Football's list of association football-related deletions. GiantSnowman 10:18, 15 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A middle name is not a helpful redirect if the target is not known by the middle name. — the Man in Question (in question) 19:50, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete It would appear to be a highly improbable search term. Eldrick I get, as I hear sports talk personalities use that pretty regularly. But never once have I heard him referred to as Tont. CThomas3 (talk) 01:18, 16 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. This redirect may cause confusion. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 09:46, 16 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete, as the target article is not commonly referred to by the name in the redirect, i.e. Tiger Woods isn't referred to as Tont. Utopes (talk) 17:41, 18 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The above discussion is preserved as an archive of the debate. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page.

Mr. Aaron[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was retarget to Aaron (surname). --BDD (talk) 21:14, 24 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Appears to be based on a fictional pseudonym used in an obscure film from 2009. Not a plausible search term. A middle name is not a helpful redirect. — the Man in Question (in question) 19:49, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • The film in question does have an article and the term is mentioned so redireting to Lonely Street (film) is a viable option.--64.229.166.98 (talk) 20:00, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I would call that fancruft. The topic is too obscure. — the Man in Question (in question) 20:01, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
It's the second line for cast, so if he's a principal character I think a redirect is perfectly fine WhisperToMe (talk) 21:19, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
But again, the film itself is obscure. It is not normal to create redirects for characters in obscure films. It opens up a Pandora's Box of unused redirects. The minimal use that this redirect has had comes from its having formerly been linked in the film's article (until I corrected the link). — the Man in Question (in question) 21:37, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Some obscure arthouse films are seen by relatively few but get a bit of scholarly attention. If a journal article or book chapter has critical commentary on Mr. Aaron, it could warrant that being linked from Aaron (surname) ... WhisperToMe (talk) 05:52, 15 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'd be okay with retargeting this to Aaron (surname), since it could refer to many people listed there. - Eureka Lott 03:20, 15 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
That sounds like a great idea! WhisperToMe (talk) 05:52, 15 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
But do we really want to encourage "Mr."-style redirects? Any surname disambig on Wikipedia could have "Mrs.", "Mrs.", etc. added to it. And, I think most importantly, is anyone with the surname Aaron actually widely known as Mr. Aaron? — the Man in Question (in question) 22:20, 15 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
We already have a lot of them (Mr. Adams, Mr. Bundy, Mr. Jefferson, etc.), and you can find many more in Special:Allpages. - Eureka Lott 22:35, 15 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Potentially ambiguous and maycause confusion. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 09:48, 16 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to Aaron (surname) where one can find all the notable people who may be called "Mr. Aaron". -- Tavix (talk) 21:49, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This kind of typo is a Pandora's Box. — the Man in Question (in question) 19:47, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Weak keep. l and ; are right next to each other on the QWERTY keyboard. Though, it makes me wonder why this isn't E;vis Pres;ey then... and why that specific typo? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯MJLTalk 02:16, 15 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete mistakes such as this are obvious, and can be corrected. Peter James (talk) 22:48, 15 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per {{R from misspelling}}. Redirects take people where they want to go, and it's obvious that someone typing this is wanting the article for Elvis Presley. -- Tavix (talk) 21:42, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep, the redirect is a plausible typo that could be encountered, even if it has never been encountered by anyone here. The two characters are a button away, and should stay as a redirect. Utopes (talk) 17:44, 18 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. If they can type the "l" in "Elvis", they can type the "l" in "Presley". This is unlikely because it requires missing the "l" once instead of twice. Steel1943 (talk) 01:20, 22 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Unhelpful capitalization errors. Anyone searching for these will be taken to the correct page regardless of how they capitalize it. — the Man in Question (in question) 19:42, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • I find a second capital to be a likely error, so unless technically this is unnecessary, I think this is a good idea to keep. Debresser (talk) 15:02, 15 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Likely and common misspellings, and JEsus actually reminds me of the 16th century German tradition of writing "HErr" and "GOtt" for "Lord" and "God". But I don't know whether that has been done in English, ever. However, if these redirects don't exist, the software automatically redirects search entries, so the only issue is links. Given the low use I'd say delete both to let the software work its magic. —Kusma (t·c) 15:59, 15 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Either a joke or the French spelling of his name (in which case WP:FORRED). — the Man in Question (in question) 19:29, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • This was previously discussed and kept at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2014 August 28#Vladimir Poutine. I have no idea If the consensus has changed but it should be pointed out.--64.229.166.98 (talk) 19:44, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep: common misspelling. Valmi 01:58, 15 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I am curious, do you have evidence for that, or at least a basis? Remember Poutine is the French spelling of his name, which is why there are many search results on Google (WP:FORRED). In English the name is pronounced /ˈpuːtɪn/ or /ˈpjuːtɪn/, neither of which is likely to be misspelled Poutine. — the Man in Question (in question) 20:39, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak keep. I agree with Valmi that it is common, but not as a misspelling. For example, searching "Vladimir Poutine" on Wikipedia gives 19 articles in which the name is mentioned. Given the significant French–Russian relations, of which Mr. Poutine/Putin is a key part of, I think this lends just enough affinity to satisfy WP:RFOREIGN. Someone may stumble across "Vladimir Poutine" in that context and want to find out who this is—the target gives the answer that it's Vladimir Putin. -- Tavix (talk) 22:52, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • From looking at d:Q7402923, this may be a valid variant. If you look at the history of the nominated page, it used to be a disambiguation page that included a link to Sakhar, Nepal. That article was subsequently moved to Sankhar, Nepal and then to Sankhar. I can't explain why the former titles were deleted. - Eureka Lott 20:03, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

General redirect to a specific target. A bit misleading: obviously "drug" refers to more than just cannabis/marijuana, and there are many campaigns against all sorts of drugs other than cannabis/marijuana. I don't necessarily want to see this redirect deleted, as it is potentially useful. And a reader might still find certain anti-drug campaigns among those listed in the target (perhaps the list should be split?) So ideally, I would prefer to have this redirect point to a better target if one can be found. -- œ 05:26, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
