Not explained in article. — the Man in Question (in question) 23:52, 13 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I once created a bunch of geologic formation stubs based on information in a scientific database. The database had an erroneous duplicate entry for some information the database maintainer or original research tentatively attributed to the Tulare Formation (hence the question mark), resulting in the creation of a ?Tulare Formation article along with the real article. When I spotted the error I redirected it to the latter. Abyssal (talk) 00:52, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Overly vague, could refer to any new Sonic game or media coming out. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 22:02, 13 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • While the edit summary says "merge", nothing that was merged is now in the current article, since it's entirely outdated info.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 23:03, 13 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete, there is nothing in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise with a tentative title. With nothing that was merged existing in the current article, this is safe to delete. -- Tavix (talk) 21:57, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Outdated attempt at WP:CRYSTAL. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 21:59, 13 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Does such an incredibly generic term really need to be disambiguated? Then we will have "Earth (insert series here)" for 50% of all fictional works. WP:PANDORA. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 21:49, 13 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. "Earth" doesn't appear to be mentioned at the target and the redirect has no significant history. Not a useful search term. PC78 (talk) 22:41, 13 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Interstate 44 in Illinois[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. There is consensus to delete from this discussion + WP:G7 because the author of the redirect has advocated for its deletion. -- Tavix (talk) 14:39, 19 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I-44 never entered Illinois. It's disputed if it previously turned along the Poplar Street Bridge and ended at the state line before it was extended along former I-70 in 2014. Even assuming it did run on the PSB, it ended at the state line and never entered Illinois. Imzadi 1979  20:37, 13 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Delete. Thank you for nominating this. I made this redirect on April 12, 2012, long before I understood exactly how Wikipedia articles worked. I apologize for all of the headaches I caused back then. Morriswa (Charlotte Allison) (talk) 00:21, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Delete. If the route never did or was never planned to enter a state, there's no need for a "X in State" redirect. It is for this reason that we don't have redirects titled Interstate 276 in New Jersey or U.S. Route 46 in New York. This redirect should be deleted. Needforspeed888 (talk) 00:44, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Comment. @Needforspeed888: I actually also made one of the instances of the US 46 redirect. That, too, was another novice mistake I made back then. Morriswa (Charlotte Allison) (talk) 00:59, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - I-44 never entered or was never planned to enter Illinois so this redirect should not exist. Dough4872 12:50, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Since Morriswa !voted delete, could this now be speedied under WP:CSD#G7? –Fredddie 15:46, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

An unlikely redirect. Will anyone really type the name with the accent mark AND a misspelled first letter? ZXCVBNM (TALK) 11:32, 6 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • That's a macron, not an accent. Geolodus (talk) 14:03, 6 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Coming to ZXCVBNM's defense, a macron is an accent: an accent is "a mark or symbol used in the printing and writing of certain languages to indicate the vocal quality to be given to a particular letter" (American Heritage), "a mark used in writing or printing to indicate a specific sound value, stress, or pitch..." (Merriam–Webster). What I assume you're referring to is an acute accent, which is often called an accent for short. Golden Rule and all. — the Man in Question (in question) 13:26, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak delete. The name is the transliteration of the Japanese form of the name. Not, I think, useful, but also not a misspelling. — the Man in Question (in question) 13:26, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak keep, Google translate still converts ゼノサーガ to that for romanization purposes. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 14:21, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Founder's seat[edit]

The concept of founder's seats is not specific to the Wikimedia Foundation. * Pppery * it has begun... 16:44, 22 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Very weak keep There are only two contexts where the exact phrase is mentioned on en.wp, the WMF/Jimmy Wales (and the current target is clearly the best for that) and as a minor part of the plot summary in The Concorde ... Airport '79 - which would not be what anyone searching for this is going to be looking for. So in the absence of any other suitable targets it seems keeping is the slightly better option. • Retarget to Organizational founder. bd2412 T 03:59, 2 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete I'm still trying to make that Wiktionary "non-idiomatic phrase" a thing over here. This one is a bit borderline, since it probably wouldn't refer to a physical seat, but still. Organizational founder briefly grazes upon the idea of a founder on a board, but really doesn't discuss the idea of a founder's seat. The current setup unfairly biases our own project IMO. --BDD (talk) 21:28, 10 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep: Harmless. It was a phrase frequently used on the show. It's so specific that the redirect will not confuse anyone – no one is going to search it looking for something else. M.Clay1 (talk) 22:35, 22 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Redirects from quotations are among the few cases where I think it's acceptable to have an unmentioned redirect, though that doesn't mean we should. I can easily imagine a reader searching for this and being confused when they find nothing about it. Is it conceivable a reader would say, "Hmm, what show was 'ass mode' from again?", such that this would satisfy them? --BDD (talk) 21:19, 10 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I can see why someone would search for "khas kura", "khas kuro" or even "khas language" but why would anyone who already knows the word "Nepali" put a "khas before it"? It's useless and is here merely to make a political point. Usedtobecool ✉️  14:39, 13 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

SS49 I specifically mentioned which terms might be reasonable and clarified that the actual nominated redirect was the one I thought useless and gave a rationale why exactly. You've linked a search result for one of the terms I said were reasonable. Usedtobecool ✉️  22:16, 13 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! That blogpost is the mirror of the Wikipedia page on the subject following this uncited series of edits by an IP, which was supplemented by the creator of this redirect 12 minutes later with this edit, also uncited POV pushing. This user made this and one other (also listed here) redirect before adding that comment. Coincidentally, these were the first edits by the user who is now blocked indef for socking. Checking that IP's contribs suggests it was also a sock of the same user. Regards! Usedtobecool ✉️  08:09, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
