Amanchi Venkata Subrahmanyam

Hi, I am new to this Wikipedia. Actually I created a page for a famous Telugu comedian AVS also known as Amanchi Venkata Subrahmanyam, Also I have provided Internet Movie Database reference site and the content also on my own collected from diffrent sources mentioned in external links column. But this has been tagged with Speedy deletion. Could you please advise me how I could set up a page on this page without anything wrong? and guide me on how to add a picture to this profile. Scottish Council of Jewish Communities

Hi there, I am a relatively new contributor to wikipedia, so please forgive me if I get any of the formalities wrong! I am a Scottish Jew (or a Jewish Scot if you will) and I was shocked to find no wikipedia page for the Scottish Council of Jewish Communities. I thought that it would be in the interests of our community for this page to be created, however I see that one previously did exist, and was deleted by yourself. Could you please advise me why this was, and how I could set up a page on this organisation without falling foul of whatever was wrong in the past? — Marclivingston (talk) 15:40, 13 June 2011 (UTC)

  • Since you know that I deleted it, you should also have seen the deletion reason: Unambiguous copyright infringement of http://www.scojec.org/ Also it was too short - history in particular was missing. A properly referenced article in your own words stands a good chance of succeeding. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 12:12, 14 June 2011 (UTC)

Sonia Falcone

First of all sorry for my English it’s not my native language, as you know it’s very difficult to explain and be clear in a different language.

I'm really new in Wikipedia a couple of weeks ago I had to do a paper on Sonia Falcone (she is a Bolivian artist very well known here) she is the first Bolivian woman to take her art internationally to New York, Miami, London, also has done a lot for the Latin Community in the United States trough her foundation.

As a Bolivian its very frustrating not to find things in Wikipedia about my country and about our personalities, so I decided to do my share and help in this project and start creating content about Bolivia and our personalities, so I decided to start with Sonia Falcone since Ii had to do a paper on her anyways.

So i did my research got all my info and created an article about her, but now i found out the article was deleted, I really don’t why it was deleted, because she is a very well know person in my country I don’t think to be in Wikipedia the person has to be known globally, if that’s the case is very unfair to small countries like mine.

I think for Bolivia its very important to start showing the world their personalities, let me be clear on one thing this article is not for promotional purposes I`ve never even met her, she doesn’t need money she is one of the wealthiest persons in Bolivia, she is married to Pierre Falcone.

Please let me know why did you delete the article. -- Rodrigosaucedolinares (talk) 14:52, 8 June 2011 (UTC)

  • You shot yourself in the foot in two respects: you launched a very short article which deserved speedy deletion and when you did expand it, you formatted the external links so badly that I could not be bothered to look at them. I have restored the article to User:Rodrigosaucedolinares/sonia. I suggest you replace some if not all of the links in the "Reviews" section with links to articles in English and format all of them using the {{cite web}} template as per the two examples that I have done. Having done that, re-submit the article via articles for creation. If you have never met her, please explain how you got the images. I find the black&white photo of her on this page but it is not identical so I have not tagged it as a copyright violation. I find the photos of her works on her website, but again not identical copies. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 16:43, 8 June 2011 (UTC)

Table Warfare page

Hi, a little while ago you nominated the page I added for the company Table Warfare for speedy deletion. I will avoid recreating the page until I can prove notibility. At this years UK Games Expo, our Wars of Tonan range was voted 'Best Miniatures 2011' by a combination of judge and public vote.[1] We have also been reviewed by 'A Year of Frugal Gaming' [2] and are soon hoping to have an entire article profiling the company written by the Ancible magazine [3]. Is the award and review enough to prove notibility? Or - as the frugal gaming site is a blog - do we need to wait for the article in the Ancible? Oli2001uk (talk) 16:08, 8 June 2011 (UTC)

  • Not only should you wait for the article in Ancible, you should have the decency to wait until someone with no COI thinks your company is notable and writes about it for you. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 16:51, 8 June 2011 (UTC)

So let me confirm, I cant add the page back myself. However, if after the Ancible edition comes out, a wiki user with no connection to me directly or to Table Warfare was to choose to add it, the magazine article and 'best miniatures 2011' award would be enough to meet wiki notibility requirements?Oli2001uk (talk) 19:15, 8 June 2011 (UTC)

  • "Cant" (you mean "may not") is too absolute - the phrase used in {{uw-coi}} is more appropriate: "strongly discouraged". None of the three links strike me as being particularly impressive (though I have to admit that your first is actually used in Yog-Sothoth.com) but taken together they might just work. Note that I am a total cynick: the only way I will believe that a new user has no connection to you would be if that user has an established records of wikipedia edits. So perhaps your best bet is to follow this "sponsor" suggestion. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:31, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
I'd be happy to help with this, but establishing notability is going to be a struggle. The UK Games Expo doesn't seem notable enough to have its own Wikipedia article, so an award won at it doesn't help much. The Ancible may or may not be considered a reliable source... they really need to get someone to copyedit their website and their magazine (having just looked at the first ever issue and the most recent issue). I've seen worse copyediting in commercial printed magazines, but not often. Oli, feel free to drop me a message at my talk page once the Ancible article has been released, and I'll see what can be done. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 21:12, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
  • There Oli, a possible "sponsor" without you having even to try! — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 21:14, 8 June 2011 (UTC)

Demiurge, a writer from Miniature Wargames Magazine dropped off his card suggesting he might write about us too, so I'll chase that. I'm pretty sure the UK Games Expo could qualify for notability in its own right pretty easily, It's primary sponsors qualify for multiple pages, and there were writers there from all over the game publishing industry. Thanks very much for the offer, I'll message you after the artical comes out.Oli2001uk (talk) 22:49, 8 June 2011 (UTC)

PPI Framework

Can you please revoke your suggestion of lack of notability of PPI Framework. This is not actually the case.

The last time a count was made, over 10 development organisations are using PPI for their development platform. Through popular demand PPI was made open source around september last year and since PPI has been prolific, gaining popular attraction and contribution from the PHP community.

If you would like further evidence to back up the notability of PPI then I'm happy to provide that to you.

Regards, Paul Dragoonis. — Preceding unsigned comment added by PDragoonis (talkcontribs) 17:08, 8 June 2011 (UTC)

Here is some evidence that you've requested:

On github 21 people are watching this project https://github.com/dragoonis/ppi-framework/watchers on github 9 people have forked it to begin using it and contributing to it.

At the final talk of "Framework shootout" at the PHPNW10 php conference with panelists from "Zeta, ZF, Kohana and Agavi", PPI was mentioned at this talk: http://conference.phpnw.org.uk/phpnw10/

www.bestbuys.com has been using PPI for almost a year now with an alexia rating of 21,000 www.joined.com has been using PPI for 4 years with an alexa rating of 165,387

It has been featured by the following websites that have chose to add PPI to their website http://www.phpkode.com/projects/item/ppi-framework/ http://webscripts.softpedia.com/script/Development-Scripts-js/Complete-applications/PPI-Framework-67433.html

The @DocBlox project has tweeted: "I am proud to announce that #PPI_Framework has chosen @DocBlox to generate their #API documentation!" — Preceding unsigned comment added by PDragoonis (talkcontribs)

  • None of them seems like a particularly reliable source and citing Twitter is just a bad joke. But why are you telling me? What do you think is the proper place for this info.? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:30, 9 June 2011 (UTC)

Can I delete merge this back to Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Ingold Streams Inc.? It's not ready for go live. The creator needs to work on it. Thanks, Dlohcierekim 21:51, 8 June 2011 (UTC)

Uh thanks, intresting. Dlohcierekim 22:01, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
  • It looks like spam to me but if you wish to help the author, feel free. Sorry, I moved it before I checked that you are an admin otherwise I would have left it in place. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:10, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
No prob. I removed as much as possible from the thing. With history intact will make the GFDL happy and it will be back where it belongs. Dlohcierekim 22:22, 8 June 2011 (UTC)

Photomatic and Toc H Institute

Hi, just a courtesy note to say that I have redirected Photomatic, which you prodded, to Storyboard#Photomatic. This was copied verbatim from there, back in 2007, possibly as a well-meaning effort by an inexperienced editor.

I have also declined the Prod on Toc H Institute of Science and Technology since degree-awarding institutions have long been regraded as notable. TerriersFan (talk) 01:00, 10 June 2011 (UTC)

AfD

Sorry RHawarth, but I detected a claim to fame in a rather overblown article (since I'm an admin now I can't use terms like "ridiculous" and "bullshit", obviously), so here we are: please see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sycksyde. Sorry to delay the inevitable, Drmies (talk) 03:11, 10 June 2011 (UTC)

  • So where is this claim to fame that you have detected. And what is wrong with the use of ridiculous? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 08:37, 10 June 2011 (UTC)

British Library follow-up

Extended content

Thank you for participating in the English and Drama Editathon at the British Library on June 4. I hope you enjoyed the day and got something useful out of it.

If you are new to Wikipedia and Wikimedia projects, I hope you had any questions or problems answered and maybe found being a contributor as addictive as many of the regulars do. If you've got any questions or need help, please feel free to ask any of us on our talk page or by e-mail (, Tom Morris, Sadads, James F., RHaworth, The Land, AdamBMorgan), ask on the British Library collaboration page or through the Wikipedia Help Desk.

If you are interested in working on Wikipedia, you might want to consider joining one of the WikiProjects. These are places where team work between editors interested in a particular topic can be coordinated. Some suggestions for WikiProjects that may be of interest to you as a participant in the event on Saturday include Literature, Poetry or Science Fiction. A full list of literature and language related WikiProjects can be found here, and a list of all WikiProjects is here. The WikiProjects often have things that need doing, and if you need help you can often ask in their talk page.

But there are other places you can get involved. If you are interested on working on images, such as improving image descriptions, categorisation or uploading new media, consider getting involved in Wikimedia Commons. Wikisource also needs people willing to help make available original source material, and Wikiquote is trying to compile a directory of quotes which you may be able to contribute to.

If you want to continue some of the work we got started on Saturday, here are a few potential things to help with:

  • Following on from work on Ella D'Arcy on Saturday, work has started to make all of The Yellow Book available on Wikisource. If you go to the page on Wikisource and pick a volume then click on 'scan index' you can start helping to proofread pages from the journal - simply click on the page you want to work on, and go through to check that the text on the left reflects the text on the right. If you need any help with getting started, please ask User:Tom Morris.
  • If you created any new articles at the event, you might want to submit them to Did you know?.
  • If you are able to translate into other languages, why not pick one of the articles we worked on, translate it and post it on another language version of Wikipedia: there are now versions in hundreds of languages. On Wikimedia Commons, it is also possible to provide multilingual descriptions of images and categories: this enables editors on the other language versions to better find images and media files they can use in their project.
  • If you need images from the British Library to illustrate articles, please add them to the image requests page. If you would like a British LIbrary curator to help collaborate on an article, please add it to the collaborations page.
  • You might also be interested in attending GLAMcamp London.
  • To explore more articles related to the British Library, visit Portal:British Library.

Whatever you do, please tell us about the positive and negative experiences you have. On behalf of the organisers of the event, thanks again.

RE: {{OS coord}}

Hi. I noted that you are frequent editor of {{OS coord}}, and so I would value your opinion. I'm currently working on an update for {{Infobox mountain}} and I was thinking about what a UK Ordinance survey link followed by a reference would look like:

SU616687[1]

I think this appears a little crude and that it should look like:

SU616687[1]

The second example is just a mockup. Currently, the link is to the tool server, and in my humble opinion the external link symbol is unnecessary. {{Coord}} links to the tool server and does not use the symbol.

If you think this is worth working on I would be glad to create a sandbox version. If you think the new display format should be optional, that would not be a problem for me. –droll [chat] 22:48, 10 June 2011 (UTC)

Ellerker (band)

A fan of my band (Ellerker - http://www.ellerker.net) came up to me at one of our shows and said had added a page for our band and it had been deleted, I just checked it out and it came to you. Any reason why it has been deleted and anything I can tell him to do to rectify the problem? Thanks, Ace — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.102.45.35 (talk) 10:04, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

speedy a1

Speedy A1 did not apply to Chronology of River Song, even at the early stage you paced it.,[4]. It was not a very short article; it was 8,650 bytes at the time. It had sufficient context to indicate the subject of the article--obviously the character River Song, & if the series wasn't mentioned it was pretty easy to find out--even I who have never seen an episode of it and never intend to, recognized the name. Perhaps you did it to express your irritation at our having such an article, but that's a question for AfD, where it looks like, despite my support, it may be deleted. (It has been considerably improved since then, btw, but I doubt that the improvements will meet your original objections) DGG ( talk ) 18:33, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

Sugarmoon

Sorry, I have declined the Prod on Sugarmoon. The objection on the talk page, albeit to the speedy, indicates that this would not be an uncontroversial deletion. TerriersFan (talk) 00:01, 12 June 2011 (UTC)

MPLCIE

Hello RHaworth. I am just letting you know that I deleted Motion Picture Licensing Company Ireland, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, under a different criterion from the one you provided, which doesn't fit the page in question. Thank you. PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 04:20, 14 June 2011 (UTC)

Kidzmania

I believe the Kidzmania article which I contributed to Wikipedia is sufficient and informative. After reading the appropriate guidelines of wikipedia I believe the article is encyclopaedic and carries sufficient information and references. I am new to Wikipedia and might not have the full knowledge of understanding the guidelines of wikipedia so I kindly request if you could advice and help me with how to write and submit sufficient informative and encyclopaedic content to wikipedia. I lack the knowledge and request your assistance. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Adamcanwrite (talkcontribs) 07:54, 15 June 2011 (UTC)

  • You cannot be serious. "Sufficient references": what do you mean - there were none. You are blatantly advertising a theme park which will not open until 2012. When the centre has opened and if it becomes successful, someone with no COI will write about it here. Until then, nothing is needed. I assume you are Ali Mohamed Kazma. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 09:42, 15 June 2011 (UTC)

No my name is Adam Al-Mawla and I am just an online contributor who read about Kidzmania in a news article on their press release. I also see Mr. Ali Kazma as a successful business person in the Middle East region and I felt that it is necessary to educate the web about his success and developments.

I contributed this article wanting to be the first to contribute anything about Kidzmania online. Thank you for your misunderstanding. The article was deleted 3 times and each time for a different reason. Please explain. Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.187.26.173 (talk) 10:00, 16 June 2011 (UTC)

A remark about your user page

About "COI". IMO your statement contains a minor logical blunder or two:"...that anybody can become a Wikipedia editor... I disagree: true Wikipedians are a distinct...". First, there is no reason to equate the terms "wikipedia editor" and "wikipedian". (At least there is no common agreement (and no wikipedia page dwells on the issue :-)). Hence there is no reason for you to disagree. The second is "No true Scotsman". Other than that, your observation is of note. Lolo Sambinho (talk) 15:18, 15 June 2011 (UTC)

I just begin to create pages since few days and i want to create this one and another agencies in this wiki so i need to understand what's wrong ? can i submit a light version ? i took ewmaple in other existing pages which are approuved by contributors so i dont understant. I just finished my advertising studies and want to work in an agency and thought that wiki needs more information about them. I hope you understand my request and you'll answer me ... • Consider yourself lucky that I am bothering to reply - I have a policy of ignoring contribs from IP addresses. I have to admit that you appear to have included a number of reliable sources. If you can find more in English, it will help. I suggest you raise the matter at deletion review. If you need a copy of your text, read this. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:02, 15 June 2011 (UTC)

Catete

Catete (Rio de Janeiro neighborhood) is not "recently cretate", nor "implausible" redirect. This redirect is linked in old page hiostories and should not have been deleted in the first place. I am sure you are aware of this guideline on deletion of redirects. Sorry I recreated it without sufficient edit summary, so that you assumed it is "implausible". Lolo Sambinho (talk) 01:25, 16 June 2011 (UTC)

Please explain what was insulting above. I even admitted my fault for not providing good edit summary. I am not a native English speaker. Lolo Sambinho (talk) 15:44, 16 June 2011 (UTC)

  • I withdraw my remark about civility. I think Cruks was being over-sensitive in blanking this exchange. (But I still think Catete (Rio de Janeiro neighborhood) is not needed!) — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:29, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
    • After some additional checking I start agreeing with you. My objection was that in old versions this deletion would create redlinks. However in this particular case the links came mostly from the template. However, as I have just noticed, if you look at an old version or an article, it will include the new version of the template (I guess software is not smart enough to do timestamp match of revisions for included pages). Therefore the deletion of the link in question actually does little harm in the discussed situation (even if you are looking into the history of the template itself). My main disagreement here was with Amatulic's deletion: surely you cannot say "recently created" for a page created almost a year ago. No big deal anyway, but I hope the colleague will be more careful with deletions next time. Lolo Sambinho (talk) 17:22, 20 June 2011 (UTC)

Just a quick note to say that I removed your speedy deletion tag from this article. In my opinion it contains several credible assertions of significance. To be honest I'm not sure that the subject would be found notable at AfD, but I'm certain that it isn't an appropriate candidate for A7. Cheers, Thparkth (talk) 02:02, 16 June 2011 (UTC)

tiff deletion

Hi RH, Earlier today I uploaded File:Leon1.tiff for an article about the samchillian of both the instrument and its inventor, both of which are talked about in depth in the article. It was deleted. Please advise. Apparently, I was unable to follow direction properly, and missed some essential element. The note I found said "Media file with improper license." Thanks for your help and clarification. DD. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Duonneduck (talkcontribs) 05:05, 16 June 2011 (UTC)

  • Please read this. Assuming that Leon Gruenbaum is willing to licence the image under the GFDL: a) and most importantly, convert the image to JPEG, at 5,646,004 bytes the file size is about ten times bigger than it needs to be, b) provide evidence of Grünbaum's permission - see these instructions and c) upload the image to the Commons. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 08:56, 16 June 2011 (UTC)

Please don't get me wrong:
I have ZERO problems with you deleting "File:Pak Navy captain.gif"
I have ZERO problems with you deleting "File:Pak Navy captain.gif" for the reasons it was nominated for deletion.

But I have BIG problems with you deleting it and stating: "(F9: Image copyright violation without fair use or credible claim of permission.)"

Perhaps you could chose your edit comment words more carefully next time? Cheers, Pdfpdf (talk) 13:29, 16 June 2011 (UTC)

  • Why did you feel it necessary to make your deletion nomination <big><big>? Why did you not use one of the standard deletion tags - in this case {{db-f9}}? And, most importantly, what deletion reason should I have given? In any case, the deletion reason was offered to me automatically - perhaps you would like to find out where it came from and amend the text there. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 14:36, 16 June 2011 (UTC)

I'm afraid I don't understand most of your reply, or your edit comments.

Firstly though, please do not refactor my words. It being your talk page, you're at perfect liberty to delete them, but when you refactor them you change my meaning and mis-represent what I'm saying. Please don't do that.

Why did you feel it necessary to make your deletion nomination - Huh? I'm not aware of having made any deletion nomination. I'm aware of not opposing the nomination, but not of making it. Please explain.

I'll refrain from further comment until I have read your answer.

In the meantime, perhaps you'd like to read what I wrote re-read what I wrote and think about it?

If you do this, I imagine that you will realise that no reply was solicited, nor is it required. Pdfpdf (talk) 14:58, 16 June 2011 (UTC)

  • To the description of File:Pak Navy captain.gif and several others you added: "I sincerely doubt that the author owns the copyright. See http://www.paknavy.gov.pk/ranks.htm and http://www.paknavy.gov.pk/images/un/capt.gif". Why did you feel the text needed to be big and what do you call it if it was not a deletion nomination? I have re-read your first comment. I still do not understand why it needed to be formatted in precisely that way including a vain repetition. Perhaps I am slow witted. Please explain and also answer my question: what deletion log entry would you like to see on an F9 deletion? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:42, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

Just another note about a removed speedy deletion tag. In my opinion this article contains several credible claims of significance. In particular, the claimed press coverage in national UK newspapers is a strong defense to A7. Of course, that press coverage isn't sourced, and maybe isn't even true, but that's not an issue for speedy deletion to consider. Thparkth (talk) 16:06, 16 June 2011 (UTC)

David Inskeep manure spill

Hello, I recently wrote an article about David Inskeep, a farmer who caused the largest manure spill in Illinois history, prompting EPA involvement, a lawsuit, and was the subject of a number of thews articles, written about in a book about the problems of manure containment in factory, and caused enormous environmental damage to an Illinois riverbed, prompting the need for immediately relief action, and drastic change in Illinois legislation about manure containment. However, the page was deleted because it was deemed not notable enough. However, I believe it definitely is notable, and am still interested in creating a wikipedia page about it. What can I do to change this? Primeintellect (talk) 18:09, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

  • If you follow the Talkback link above, you will see that the article has caused two of us amusement. So to bring it to a wider audience, I have restored it to David Inskeep manure spill and sent it to AfD. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 21:06, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

Hi, I still do not see this article as meeting G3, could you reconsider your action? It was created for promotional reasons but the content was not a blatant hoax and the term is used in several independent sources (if tangentially). This was a scenario when PROD should apply and as the article was marked as under construction, deleting within an hour or so of creation appears arbitrary. Thanks (talk) 12:03, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

  • OK, I should have changed the deletion reason to A3 - empty. Once the spam was removed there was nothing there. But I have no objection to you re-instating the article if you insist. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 12:07, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

Here your deletion tag was reverted. Do you need to re-apply it? Thanks Rjwilmsi 18:19, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

A question about your process

For my own edification, I see you requested CSD for Writing on the Wall Festival. You could have deleted it yourself. I happen to subscribe to a two pairs of eyes paradigm, which supports one person tagging and a second person deleting, even when the first is an admin (which obvious exceptions, of course). However, I think of that as my own preference, not a Wikipedia rule. Do you always request CSD and let someone else do it, or do you do this only in certain circumstances (e.g. possible COI, or certain categories of articles)?--SPhilbrickT 02:53, 19 June 2011 (UTC)

  • Yes, I believe very firmly in a "two pairs of eyes" (an excellent phrase) policy - as a recommendation not a firm rule. If it is not written up somewhere, then it ought to be. I apply it to all except the very worst such as Anthony levinsohn but since I also have a policy of not looking at articles until they are at least 15 minutes old, I don't see many of the "awesome" kids and similar trash. I also have a "shoot first, ask questions later" policy: sometimes I apply a speedy tag but then I see an earlier speedy tag that has been removed or deleted edits on the same title, so I delete it. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 08:19, 19 June 2011 (UTC)

Hi RHaworth. I saw you added pending changes to this page. Consensus is to not use PC at the moment. Could you use semi-protection, or some other alternative instead? Thanks, - Kingpin13 (talk) 14:35, 19 June 2011 (UTC)

Also, oddly, it seems like you've semi-protected and PC protected at the same time. Which renders the PC protection useless anyway (since user's can't actually submit edits to be reviewed due to the semi-protection. - Kingpin13 (talk) 14:53, 19 June 2011 (UTC)

  • PC protection removed. Incidentally can you explain why deleted revision 2011-06-04T01:15:35 is visible to me but deleted revision 2011-06-15T23:02:05 is not. They both seem to have been applied in the same way. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:37, 19 June 2011 (UTC)
Thanks. The one you can't see was later oversighted. But I don't think the logs for oversight are publicly available, which is why it appears they were both deleted in the same way. - Kingpin13 (talk) 22:02, 19 June 2011 (UTC)

According to Google's cache this article clearly indicated importance/significance of the subject as co-editor of a major encyclopaedia. Please revert your deletion. Phil Bridger (talk) 21:14, 19 June 2011 (UTC)

Mahim Koliwada listed at RfD

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Mahim Koliwada. Since you had some involvement with the Mahim Koliwada redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion (if you have not already done so). Inks.LWC (talk) 22:19, 19 June 2011 (UTC)

I fail to see how this fails notability. He played a large role, alongside highly acclaimed actor John Travolta in the 2009 blockbuster movie The Taking of Pelham 123 (2009 film). Nath1991 (talk) 13:55, 20 June 2011 (UTC)

WP:NACTOR suggests that a significant role in only a single significant movie is not sufficient for notability. (Otherwise Mackintosh Muggleton would be notable for his significant role in 28 Weeks Later alongside Robert Carlyle, Rose Byrne et al.)
On the other hand, you could remove the proposed deletion tag, if you wish, then it could be discussed at AfD. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 00:56, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

Amaranthe

(I believe now I'm at the right place...)

I believe this band meets Wikipedia's notability criteria. There are four pages about it in different projects (check the Swedish page), the band has two independently notable musicians (Olof Mörck and Elize Ryd), their first album charted in at least two countries national music charts (check this reference) and the band has been the subject of multiple published works appearing in sources that are reliable and are independent from the musician or ensemble itself (check the Portuguese page). Could you please restore the page? If necessary I help to improve it. Thank you for your consideration. 189.74.241.35 (talk) 14:12, 20 June 2011 (UTC)

  • Right place - wrong ID. I don't talk to IP addresses and especially ones that cannot create wikilinks. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 14:25, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
In that case, please could you restore the contents of Amaranthe to User:Demiurge1000/Amaranthe so that it can be worked on? --Demiurge1000 (talk) 00:43, 21 June 2011 (UTC)
Page userfied per your request, Demiurge1000. RHaworth, I find your attitude toward a new user to be extremely concerning, and hope you will reconsider the manner in which you respond to politely worded if imperfect requests. Risker (talk) 04:05, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

Talia Joundi/Voices-Voix

Hello! I'm messaging on behalf of the Voices-Voix page that was created/deleted on June 17, 2011.

What can I do with the article before re-submission? Voices-voix has been mentioned in various publications/press releases of members of the coalition and others. For example:

What else would you suggest be done to improve our credibility? Thank you so much for your time, Raiseyourvoice2011 (talk) 16:50, 20 June 2011 (UTC)

Fupling non-notable

Hello RHaworth, I spent all night last night making the Wikipedia page The Fuplers, which is a YouTube web series. I thought that Matt Koval( the creator of the show), fans of "The Fuplers", and people searching for "The Fuplers" would like a Wikipedia page about it. Suddenly I woke up this morning and it was deleted. Can you please put it back up?? Thanks.MyLittlePonyLover (talk) 18:08, 20 June 2011 (UTC)

  • What evidence have you that it is notable? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 19:14, 20 June 2011 (UTC)

how to contact Zhun310

Hi, I saw your name on the discussion page of this article Near-infrared window in biological tissue. Sorry if the answer is obvious, but I'm a newbee: do you know how to contact the guy that made this figure? As I'm not even sure to be able to find your answer, would you be kind enough to send it to <redacted>? Thank you very much! 66.130.253.43 (talk) 18:19, 20 June 2011 (UTC)

  • With difficulty. They have not edited for more than a year. Neither their account here nor on the Commons has an "e-mail this user" facility. The best you can do on Wikipedia is leave a message at User talk:Zhun310 and hope. But have you tried asking Google? Do you think that someone writing this paper about fluorescence molecular tomography and having an e-mail address of zhun310@… might be the same one? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 19:26, 20 June 2011 (UTC)

The Goan drug mafia page

Hi, I noticed the contents of the page Goan Drug Mafia are now in Goan drug mafia. Though, in google search, '"Goan drug mafia" wikipedia' query points to the initial page Goan Drug Mafia, so does this usually get automatically updated by google or is it that a redirect is needed or may be not needed at all as it is? ..असक्तः सततं कार्य कर्म समाचर | असक्तः हि आचरन् कर्म.. Humour Thisthat2011 18:53, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

  • I see no need for a redirect. The Goan Drug Mafia page returns a move log entry pointing to the live article. Google spiders Wikipedia ferociously - I predict that the search you quoted (read this) will point to the right place within three days. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:14, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

Hi there: Please do not delete this page. As per your suggestions last time, this time I have used AfC to create the article. All the references are genuine. He was one of the greatest saints, disciple of Swami Samarth Akkalkot. Its very difficult to cite the contributions of such saints like Swami Shri Krishna Saraswati to the society and humanity. e.g. Please see article page Swami Samarth Maharaj. He was guru of Krishna Saraswati. How does one differentiate and decide that this saint is notable and Krishna Saraswati's page to be deleted. I hope you will understand and agree. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Das krishnadas (talkcontribs) 02:42, 23 June 2011 (UTC)

  • Small matter first: please stop signing the article! The Swami Samarth Maharaj article is also very poor on links to other websites and ISBNs but it does have more references in total. I recognise that the guy may be notable. That is why I am not deleting it but have sent it to AfD to get other people's opinions. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 08:57, 23 June 2011 (UTC)

Hi Roger: stop signing means do you mean entering 4 tildes at the end? OK. I had thought that is necessary. And I am not saying to delete Swami Samarth Maharaj article. Please don't do that. Just wanted to show the similarity. There were many saints in India, whose biographies are not published under ISBNs. A Glimpse of Divinity by Hanumante, Mukund ISBN: 978-0966994308 has reference of Swami Krishna Saraswati. http://www.shri-datta-swami.net/ is website on Krishna Saraswati by Prof. Dinkar Deshpande, Ph.D. Chemical IIT Mumbai. http://www.shri-datta-swami.net/about-the-author.html. Also please visit http://www.shreeswami.org/shri-krishna-saraswati-1.htm to read biography in detail. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Das krishnadas (talkcontribs) 09:35, 23 June 2011 (UTC)

Thank you for scrubbing it. I tried to down load and clean it up, when my security centre responded due to the Trojan and 2 viruses. I cloned it as a jpeg file. I have now cleared my computer of the Trojan and viruses. It is sad when my or any image is virused. The Balnain page was where it was use and a school's IP keept on vandalising the page earlyer this year. Thank you! :-) Wipsenade (talk) 14:24, 23 June 2011 (UTC)

Request to retrieve deleted XSitePro page

I'm writing to kindly request retrieving the deleted XSitePro article, so that I may edit it so that it does sound promotional. I will add that this was completely unintentional but understand why it was deleted. I would appreciate it if I could get the last 'live' version of the text for the page, as I had spent hours putting together this article, and this was in fact my very first article on Wikipedia. Thanks very much for your understanding. Kind regards, Martinjohnsonuk (talk) 14:44, 23 June 2011 (UTC)

Hi RHaworth, thanks for leaving a message on my talk page about the proposed deletion of the East London Theatre Archive. I understand entirely that the existing single reference on the page does not assert suitable notability, but I have added some links to the talk page of the article, and was wondering if you would consider having a quick look at them and offer some feedback as to how you think they stack-up with regard to asserting notability. Cheers, Darigan (talk) 18:33, 24 June 2011 (UTC)

Do they look pretty...? I may have mis-read your response, but it does sound a little bit rude - Please correct me if I've read incorrectly? I'll make updates to the article now Darigan (talk) 18:45, 24 June 2011 (UTC)

  • Why on earth should it sound rude? All I was saying was that I consider naked URIs exceedingly ugly and clearly indicate slovenly editing. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:48, 24 June 2011 (UTC)

Fair enough, 'assume good faith' and all that. I've updated the article a bit - Not a massive amount of extra content, but some useful additional references - Would you care to give it the once-over and post some feedback (good or bad)either here or on the article talk page? Cheers, Darigan (talk) 19:18, 24 June 2011 (UTC) Hi, I'll be logging off in a bit, may be back later-on tonight but no guarantees. Have re-read my comment above - I didn't mean my " 'assume good faith' " comment to sound snarky, but re-reading it, it might - Apologies for that, no snarkiness intended. In any case, I'm keen on feedback re the updates if and when you get a chance to look at the article again. Thanks, Darigan (talk) 19:35, 24 June 2011 (UTC)

  • You know about userspace drafts. Why did you not keep this one in userspace until you had added the refs. Not quite East End, but I hope you will come along and see me in the Wakefield Plays at the end of November - directed by a UEL lecturer. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 19:49, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
In hindsight, a user-space draft would have been a better way to begin...
On the play - Who is the UEL lecturer? I'm doing an MA at UEL at the moment, and occasionally share some of the larger lectures with postgrad performing arts students and lecturers. Darigan (talk) 20:07, 24 June 2011 (UTC)

Impossible bottles

Hi, I noticed that you deleted the impossible bottle picture that I uploaded. This image is my property, and I am happy for it to be used on Wikipedia. Apologies if I chose the wrong license type - please could you undo this deletion? — Impossiblebottle (talk) 14:12, 25 June 2011 (UTC)

  • I accept your story. As far as I can tell, the only image available on the web is this 218px wide thumbnail derived from the 2000px wide version you uploaded. My main concern is that you are actually trying to promote your company. My recommendations are: 1) wait until Barek (talk · contribs) has commented on this message, 2) get yourself a new user name - your present one looks like a corporate name which is forbidden, 3) upload the image to the Commons - the CC/GFDL licences you applied were perfectly correct, 4) just to be on the safe side, apply {{OTRS pending}} to the file_talk: page and confirm permission by e-mail as explained in this page and 5) restrict your spamming to adding the picture to the article! — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 15:39, 25 June 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for the feedback - seems like a hugely convoluted process just to get an image on a webpage, but I'll nonetheless follow your steps. Impossiblebottle (talk) 17:22, 25 June 2011 (UTC)

Just responding here to follow-up. I agree with RHaworth, that's the best process to use. The OTRS steps allows a means to verify and log the permissions that would authorize Wikipedia to use the copyrighted content. It is a bit convoluted, but so is copyright law in general - so these processes have developed in order to protect Wikipedia so as to reduce the risk of having a potential copyright violation. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 03:55, 26 June 2011 (UTC)

Pardon my ignorance - I'm still confused as to why the image was deleted. When I uploaded it, I selected the option to say that it was my own work, and that I was happy for it to be used. Did I do something wrong? Impossiblebottle (talk) 14:18, 26 June 2011 (UTC)

Please unprotect YoVille

I would like to create a redirect from YoVille to YoVille (game), an article which we already have about the game. Could you unprotect the page or create the redirect for me? Thanks, RJaguar3 | u | t 16:19, 25 June 2011 (UTC)

'Til I Can Make It on My Own

Can you please undelete 'Til I Can Make It on My Own? The song's by George Jones and Tammy Wynette, so I have no idea how it got deleted via A9 — it also asserted notability as a number-one single on a major chart.
