Kierra (given name)

Yesterday morning, you deleted the above article on the grounds that it is a hoax. The article had been prodded on the grouns of unreferenced and non notable. The article had been created the day before it was prodded. I thought the article was a good faith attempt to fill a hole, so to speak. Therefore I objected on the grounds that the prod was to quick and the article should be left a little while to allow for improvements (it being too close to my bedtime to do any more). About an hour later I got a message from a "friend" of the prodder asking for an explanation. About 40 minutes after that, you deleted the article anyway, so as it stands, there is no means of rectifying any problem whether real or apparant. Who actually determines whether an article is in fact a blatant hoax or not? Any way, I have a reference that would support the article and the information stated within it (and the correct information if the information given is in anyway inaccurate). I would appreciate it if it were possible for the article to be undeleted so that its deficiencies can be rectified. Op47 (talk) 12:39, 13 April 2012 (UTC)

Having stripped out some dubious-looking stuff and then Prodded it as unref and non-notable (do we need an article about every single given name? Probably not), I was surprised to see it deleted as a hoax: (a) PROD would have given the original editor a week to find sources or otherwise justify its existence, and (b) it certainly exists as a name, as there are two WP articles on people with it. What I meant is that this is a highly unusual situation. It is the documentation of a case where a vandal's insertion of fictitious information has been plagiarized by two peer-reviewed scientific publications. I inform you of this per your question just in case you didn't appraise yourself of the discussion on Jimbo's talk page. I'm basically citing WP:IAR for this exceptional matter, and I was hoping you would see that this is in fact an excellent axample of where this guideline is needed. It has come to my attention that you have been deleting an article I have worked for hours and hours on and have not saved at all. I demand you restore the article for its original purpose. You also noted to me that the page had no reason to it and was not important when I clearly stated that the article was put up as the content on the article was clearly notable and about a famous musician and YouTuber who has thousands of subscribers and has recorded in the world's most famous recording studio. Block evasion by Beatkickedin?

Hi, I am trying to clean up one of Beatkickedin's creations, Charli XCX, and have started to clear out a lot of the junk (she is slightly notable though, I have checked), I noticed this IP 78.150.136.35 adding stuff, if you check the contributions it's *only* to articles that Beat created, ok so only four edits so far, but would appear to be the same user.   • Agreed, almost certainly the same. Problem with blocking: those edits were less than 24 hrs after my blocking Beatkickedin with "autoblock any IP addresses used". This implies that the kid had changed to a different IP address from that which he had used when logged in. See also 78.147.64.107 (talk) - same ISP also editing Charli XCX. In short, blocking may be pointless - he will just change to a new IP address. I'm sorry but I think my company is notable enough for an entry in as much as it is actually a company registered in the UK and providing services to other organisations around the world, I have accepted your point on COI and advertorial content and have attempted to remove promotional content and talk just about the type of organisation we are in general terms and the history of our company.

Copyvio?

While patrolling new files, I ran across this File:Sukhbir - Self Portrait.png which appears to be an image of text. I think I have finished uniforming my URI references to the way they should be. Will re-check if not. Can we p l e a s e take off all but the first name on the beautiful nav template which is ruined by the additions of those other names since they were not Mayflower pilgrims and came later and therefore have no connection with the Mayflower? It was an accident, and I usually ask before I revert an Administrator's edit but I know for a fact that some Wiki articles that say the subject was a Mayflower passenger are in error and I assume you picked up the information from one of those articles while making the template. I see. Well they are colonists who came on later ships to live at Plymouth and many moved to establish other colonies. There is a basic misunderstanding with the meaning of the word Pilgrims among Americans. The meaning of the term has changed in later years and is used more generally but it is historically incorrect and the earlier meaning (the meaning ascribed by scholars) is in the religious context i.e., the Separatists, all those who did not accept the Church of England. The rest were adventurers, and other people. The template is so good because it brings all of the Mayflower articles together for easy access to all readers, researchers, and scholars and for that I thank you very much Mugginsx (talk) 17:40, 16 April 2012 (UTC)

Whilst I admit that there was little truth in it, the birthday I provided was true, thus making it the involved David Mulcrone's birthday today. I was hoping of printing it off and giving it to him as a birthday card before it was taken down, but I have to say your speed and agility as a Wikipedia moderator surprised me. Is it possible that you reinstate the article for -say- 5 minutes so I can print it? Rob Kendrick deletion

Hi, my written article on rob kendrick has been speedy delete on the grounds there is already a rob kendrick. however, the rob kendrick page that exists on the wiki site is for rob kendrick the band member- i'm writing a page on rob kendrick the actor (different person altogether). Yes, obviously interviews and reviews if they are in reliable sources (eg. national newspapers) and which deal him at reasonable length, ie. not just one sentence in a review of a production he was in. MCP's project

Thank you Roger for moving them to es:wp. I think that better than interwikied, their history should be moved. I never did it before and I don't have interwiki rights, but I think that there are a method to do that. Well, "complicated" is a way to say inapropiated things, like their intention of starting Spanish articles on en:wp when I "recomended" strongly to work on the Wikipedia of the same language of the final article, or a demand to protect Spanish articles (before they were created) to prevent their creation by other people (I might refuse that idea). There is no need to learn the extensive range of deletion tags; you can always use {{db|reason}}
Maria, pleased to read your reply. I note that UJI specialises in information technology. I recommend that you contact someone in your IT department and get them to install the MediaWiki software on the university's internet. It can be set up so that wikilinks can point to Wikipedias. On it hundreds of students can write their own translations of the Penguin Books article and no-one will accuse you freeloading. I look forward to your project actually producing some live pages on es:. Thanks for putting to my attention that my talk page had been cluttered with a big archive using a lot of space. I have taken your kind advice and moved all materials pertaining to materials December 31, 2011 and earlier plus non-esssential materials (disambiguation links suggestions, photo deletions etc) to their respective archive pages. Hello RHaworth, This band is notable for an article on wikipedia because they charted a song "Alive in You" on one chart and they charted their album Alive in You on two charts. So, I think you might want to close the deletion debate after finding out via my sources the facts of the matter. NE LHIN (again)

Requesting (again) that NE LHIN page be undeleted...."notability" was evident through proper citations akin to other LHINs on Wikipedia? Thanks for undeleting the North East LHIN (Local Health Integration Network) page last week, however; someone else with the alias of "Explicit" has now deleted it. Explanation was absence of "notability," which we thought was abundantly clear, thanks to help with Wikipedia conventions for citations. As our page is modelled on the other pages linked from LHINs, we are looking for help. Synergy Resources

The Synergy Resources page was on par with the Epicor page. Both were references for ERP software creators. If the Epicor page continues to exist, then that is an inconsistent application of the guidelines. The "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" link was not available. This band has become more prominent since you deleted the original article. Specifically, they've released a new album and they're touring internationally. The french, german, spanish, italian, portuguese, russian, and polish wikipedia's have this article in place. Leebotwood

I hope you can help - you recently dealt with "redlink" editor ‎JonathanSherrington when he bizarrely uploaded an image (twice) from the Shropshire Star website to Wikipedia for the Leebotwood article. Well unfortunately he is continuing to write this article in his own fashion, ignoring your edit and my edits, writing not only in an unencyclopaedic way (certainly not meeting Wikipedia guidelines) but also gibberish. I don't know really what's going on. He clearly doesn't know what he's writing about and I have no idea why he's picked out Leebotwood, a place I doubt he's ever been to or really knows where it is! Could you please assist me, as I have very little dealings with admins etc - this user needs to be blocked I think.   • There is a spooky similarity between Jonathan's edits and those of Jess3122 (talk · contribs). However Jess knows how to do an infobox and does not use masses of bold, so I think they are different people. But very likely pupils at the same school - have a quick look for edits to all villages within school run distance of Shrewsbury!
I think you are overreacting a bit. To suggest "unclear about the subject" seems inappropriate when the guy is clearly familiar with the local tradespeople. But both he and Jess do need to be told firmly to build on existing work not replace it - trouble is, schoolteachers find it easier to assess essays than work through diff reports! He's clearly just typed in "Leebotwood" into a search engine and slapped onto the article anything found. I think you're right about possibly schoolchildren each taking on a village in the area (though seemingly a very wide area, beyond their personal knowledge/experience). Other local examples (in the Church Stretton area) are: Longnor, Rushbury, and Hope Bowdler. It's quite a headache keeping track - some are good writers... others not so! First year geography at Univ of Portsmouth is a common factor between User:Edwardalanpetersears of Hope Bowdler and User:EdwardSpencer of Longnor, Shropshire. I find it hard to believe writing a Wikipedia article for a Shropshire village is part of a geography course! Frankly I'm not sure what's going on. Really, it doesn't matter so long as articles are written properly, but the issue with Leebotwood was that it not only wasn't in proper Wikipedia prose and style, but was also woefully inaccurate and/or included irrelevant material, often copied from another Wikipedia article or just bits from the web (such as the description of the Pound pub, taken from its homepage). Hello R, a question to your arcticle move moved page Helmut Wagner (Paratrooper) to Helmut Wagner (pilot)[[3]]. The source [4] says he was a Fallschirmjäger (paratrooper), not a pilot. Please note that the German paratroopers in WWII were a part of the Air Force (Luftwaffe), not of the Army. Red links

In general, yes, red links are fine when the subject is likely to have a page created. If this hospital still does not have a page, and its only claim to fame is that a movie filmed there once then that tells me it isn't likely to ever have a page created. This isn't like a red link for an actor that will likely be developed as they acquire more roles. As for the list of hospitals page, I'm not sure what that even exists. Wikipedia is not a directory.
