Slovenly is a word I find myself using quite a bit at the moment. Slovenly is what I think of anybody who leaves a message here about an article and fails to provide a wikilink to the article. How do you expect me to read the article if you don't link to it? Even if the article has been deleted, you should still link to it.
I reserve the right to ignore any message which does not provide links where appropriate, has no heading, is in the wrong place on this page, has not been signed with ~~~~, is anonymous, etc.
And if that sounds like a grumpy old man, it's because I am ...

Medusa In My Knickers

Hello, I just saw you deleted my article. I took a lot of time to gather all the informations and references and, according to me, to write a great and interesting article. Let me explain to you why I think this article must stay on Wikipedia : This is for a cultural purpose. Metalstep is a brand new sub-genre of the dubstep and brostep growing music style. One of the biggest artist up to date "Bass Nectar" even talked about it in an interview. I think my article deals with a lot of wikipedia links (EDM, dubstep, electro-rock, post-hardcore...) and that it may be good for Wikipedia to expand itself to the huge variety of musical genres that exist, even underground genres. I'm totally yours if you want to talk about it. Best regards, Screamo432 (talk) 16:00, 11 April 2014 (UTC) Priscilla

  • Please search this page for the word "decency". — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 16:24, 11 April 2014 (UTC)

Excuse me but what do you mean ? What could I add to this article to be published ? Thank you, Screamo432 (talk) 22:45, 11 April 2014 (UTC) Priscilla

Comprehensive schools in Bury

Hi, why did you delete Category:Comprehensive schools in Bolton despite the {{hangon}} notice on it and the specific explanation on Category talk:Comprehensive schools in Bury?

Please do not delete any more empty UK schools categories, as an editor has been emptying them out of process, and I am insisting at WT:CFD that a CFD discussion is required. – Fayenatic London 11:24, 11 April 2014 (UTC)

  • How could I think of deleting an article about my town of birth? Feel free to re-instate - I shall not touch them. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:55, 11 April 2014 (UTC)

I see that I linked to non-matching pages there, so I'm not sure which of those places you were born in! Thanks anyway. – Fayenatic London 13:55, 11 April 2014 (UTC)

By the way, about your response to others to "search this page for the word X", it's a fair point once they find it, but if people are editing on a tablet then their browser probably does not have a search function. Maybe set up a new moan instead? Kind regards – Fayenatic London 16:47, 11 April 2014 (UTC)

  • I am surprised that nobody has taken me to task for the way that I persistently edit other people's comments. See the bottom of this diff. I was puzzled that you were picking on one of my deletions and not the other - so I changed it to non-matching. I was born in Bury.
I use my moans when I have a message longer than one sentence. Also, some people object to templated messages and it is better to keep stuff in one place so I prefer to keep my decency message here. But telling people to search is just as bad as, if not worse than, linking to a moan so perhaps I will just let the parrot squawk every time.
But I disagree that considering tablet users is a reason - I have four browsers on my Android tablet and all support a search function - Opera, Firefox, Chrome and "Browser" - the native browser that comes with Android.
Now if you want to see a lack of consideration for tablet users - look at the size of user talk:DGG! I have a personal rule that I archive my talk page when it gets to ~64k. I am doing with this edit. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:32, 11 April 2014 (UTC)

Well, I'm glad I brought that up, as it has forced me to learn how to use both Safari and Mercury more effectively on iOS! Maybe the function is more obvious on the Android browsers that you mention. I wouldn't bet on average users finding the search-in-page option easily on the iPad.

As for DGG's page... you have a point. He archives manually, so I wonder why he keeps so much old stuff on it. I come across him now and then, but haven't been to his talk page for ages, otherwise I'd have asked him. – Fayenatic London 21:37, 11 April 2014 (UTC)

Ayaan Chawla

I have created an article of Ayaan Chawla but you have deleted that with reason: (G4: Recreation of a page that was deleted per a deletion discussion). I understand your concern but I think you haven't read new reference kindly ready & reply. — PradeepChowdhury (talk) 18:19, 11 April 2014 (UTC)

  • Sorry, I restored then changed my mind. There are more references but are any of them better references. Feel free to raise the matter at deletion review (DRV). — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:59, 11 April 2014 (UTC)

I think I have added one more link of one of India's biggest Newspaper Publishers who have given tag of 'India's Youngest CEO With A Heart Of Gold" and I think it is a good reference and in that interview every detail is mentioned, what I think. What you say? PradeepChowdhury (talk) 19:14, 11 April 2014 (UTC)

Sure Thanks I have created that. PradeepChowdhury (talk) 19:59, 11 April 2014 (UTC)

Having spent the last 18 years living in North Cheam, do you think writing an article about North Cheam as an oppose to the mere half a section it has in Cheam would be a problem? They're distinctly different areas.--Launchballer 20:31, 11 April 2014 (UTC)

  • I say no split. It is better to compare and contrast within one article than split it. I was going to suggest that one article per postal district might be a good rule but I see that North Cheam is split between SM3 and KT4 immediately to the south of London Road. To seek other opinions raise the matter at talk:Cheam. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:32, 12 April 2014 (UTC)

Bertold Fridlender

Hey, About a month ago you deleted my article, Bertold Fridlender. The article was obviously not complete, so deleting it seems unnecessary to me, but I guess that's your call to make. Yet, if possible, I would like to have the information from the article, because this is the only place where I have all the information gathered - I was not expecting it to be deleted. If you could restore it temporarily so that I can copy the information from the article, or explain to me how to get access to the deleted article, it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fridleg (talkcontribs) 22:23, 11 April 2014 (UTC)

Have you read the article before deciding I'm someone with COI? It consists of facts only, and I think "the guy" as you referred to him is by far more notable than a lot of other people who have Wikipedia pages. I do not have the knowledge to write about the Hadassah Academic College, nor do I think it needs to be a condition for making an article about Prof. Fridlender. I would be glad if you could simply email me the deleted article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fridleg (talkcontribs) 18:46, 19 April 2014 (UTC)

  • I am very sorry, I forgot to tell you to read this. My COI accusation was based on your contributions history not on the article content. I should also have pointed out that an article totally devoid of references stands very little chance of survival and it is most unwise to launch incomplete articles into mainspace - always use a sandbox. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:50, 19 April 2014 (UTC)

Hello, I am sorry if I contact you but I really didn't understand why you delete our post CoContest. Webinar

Hi, I want to create a new article which is named Webinar. Webinar is a different term to vitural conference (it is a type of VC). Thus I want you to remove Webinar's page to be free to make a new article. There is the link of Webinar main page in Wikidata. Thank you very much--Sahehco (talk) 14:10, 13 April 2014 (UTC)

Write the article first in userspace and then request speedy deletion of the redirect per WP:G6. However, given the length of the history of the redirect you are probably better off RfDing it.--Launchballer 14:34, 13 April 2014 (UTC)
  • You have twice tried to get it deleted. In fact it should not be deleted because the edit history contains other attempts to produce an article. Did it never occur to you when you were applying the speedy tags that you could simply replace the redirect tag with text for a new article? But please do not do so. For similar reasons to those I gave to Launchballer on his own fork proposal above, I think the subject is better dealt with at web conferencing. If you disagree, create a draft in your user space and seek opinions at talk:web conferencing. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 13:00, 14 April 2014 (UTC)

Flume (album) deleted

Hello, I was wondering why you deleted the album page Flume last year. There was no reason provided in the [log entry]. The album won an ARIA award and was nominated for two others and it also peaked at number one on the Australian albums chart. Isn't it notable enough to deserve its own article? I'd be happy to re-create the article if it is. AssortedLiquorice (talk) 02:56, 14 April 2014 (UTC)

  • Naked URLs are offensive - please read this. OK, a bit confusing: the "no info" in the deletion log is the deletion reason given in the speedy tag. In fact it is the wrong way round. It should be "infobox and nothing else". Restored to User:Asop Vova/sandbox. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 13:00, 14 April 2014 (UTC)

Sorry about the naked URLs; I'll keep that in mind. Thank you for explaining the deletion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AssortedLiquorice (talkcontribs) 13:53, 14 April 2014 (UTC)

CIWM Journal deletion

Hi there, Could you possibly let me know the reason for deleting the CIWM Journal page? I contested the query over copyright, letting you know that I wrote the original text here and therefore own the copyright. I'm working on behalf of the CIWM. — DWMWD (talk) 12:48, 14 April 2014 (UTC)

  • Kindly have the decency to wait until someone with no COI thinks your journal is notable and writes about it here. Please read this about what I think of people who copy their own website and think they have created a Wikipedia article. In any case: a) the page is copyright CIWM not you, and b) I doubt whether the journal merits more than a sentence or two within the CIWM article. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 13:00, 14 April 2014 (UTC)

ISERN

You deleted the draft page regarding the ISERN community: 21:36, 12 April 2014 RHaworth (talk | contribs) deleted page Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/ISERN (G12: Unambiguous copyright infringement of this page)

Could you elaborate on your concerns as to why this rewritten page is an unambiguous copyright infringement? Moving forward I suggest it would be more constructive to specify these concerns rather than continue nominating the page for speedy deletion without any elaboration. I am more than willing to put in the time and effort to comply with Wikipedia policy and develop a high quality and useful article. Please note that you have been deleting a draft page for which I intend to have reviewed and improved by multiple sources, including ISERN members, before suggesting it is posted to the namespace. Deleting drafts of this article is inhibiting this effort. I also note that none of the material posted at http://isern.iese.de/Portal/ is copywritten and I have permission from the owners of this site to make use of any material there. If this permission must be obtained while working on a draft to keep it from being deleted while I would on it then I will obtain it. Please specify clearly what your issues with this article are so I may address them. I have reviewed the copyright policy and from my understanding of it believe I have complied. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ISERN Member (talkcontribs) 20:26, 14 April 2014 (UTC)

An editor has asked for a deletion review of Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/ISERN. Because you closed the deletion discussion for this page, speedily deleted it, or otherwise were interested in the page, you might want to participate in the deletion review. ISERN Member (talk) 00:45, 16 April 2014 (UTC)

  • COI does not come much more blatant than yours. Kindly have the decency to wait until someone with no COI thinks your organisation is notable and writes about it here. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 12:43, 16 April 2014 (UTC)

If that was the issue rather than copyright why didn't you say so? I was not aware that draft articles need some indication of notability without COI. Would you kindly direct me to this policy? ISERN Member (talk) 20:15, 16 April 2014 (UTC)

  • The article was deleted as a copyvio. I am asking you not to submit a new version because of your blatant COI. I am not sure which policy you want to see: this thread now contains five links to our COI policy. All articles irrespective of the author's COI or lack of it must contain links to significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources. If you really insist on trying to force an article in, I suggest you follow this advice to find a sponsor. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 12:34, 17 April 2014 (UTC)

Willem Buiter

Hi, I came across this entry - Willem Buiter - for a research project and noticed some sort of edit war going on in his personal section. I was going to remove the allegations because I thought Wikipedia was post-script, not a newspaper, but noticed on the Talk: Willem Buiter Page that the editor that has made the changes to his page is the same handle of the person that has only contributed to the other party in this dispute: Heleen Mees. Both are semi-protected but my contention is that these allegations don't even belong there in the first place until it is resolved, but the editor (Bmwz3hm) that does solely Heleen edits and questionable contributions to Willem appears to not have the Wiki guidelines as motivation. Seems more of ill intent. Thoughts or suggestions? Thanks. --OnceaMetro (talk) 22:43, 14 April 2014 (UTC)

  • Are you sure you meant this message for me? I have never looked at either article. I don't get involved in this sort of discussion. Sorry. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 12:43, 16 April 2014 (UTC)

Missing women

Hi, I just moved my wikipedia page last night, but I find it has been deleted already. After revising from university writing center and my professor, I think the article is much more better than before. But I don't know why it is deleted. Is it because of reference or something else? I'm so worried that the Wikipedia contribution is part of my university course requirement, and the due date of this Wikipedia project gonna coming. So I really need help now. Could you tell me what should I do make the article moved successfully to namespace again? Thank you! Yangtana Li (talk) 13:46, 14 April 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi there, please would you unprotect Draft:Missing women of China from sysop only move. This has been a bit of a tortuous process with a brand-new editor but the article is good to go now and I'd like to accept it as reviewed. Many thanks, ► Philg88 ◄ talk 08:28, 16 April 2014 (UTC)
  • Many thanks for the considered response, which has given me a chance to step back from the article in question and look at the wider issues. I initially tried not to get too involved after reviewing the draft and voicing my concerns. Alas, cue worms and can-opener and here we are in a situation where at best we will end up with a content fork and at worst lose an article that does contain some useful, well referenced content. I had initially intended to get the article into main space and then tackle the naming/overlap/content but I think that there needs to be a wider discussion of the issues around the (at my count) five interconnected articles involved before that happens. To the mix has to be added a conflict of interest between Yangtana Li, who is trying hard to satisfy her coursework requirements and the goals of Wikipedia. There is probably a better place to discuss this (other than the draft talk page) and I'd welcome you're suggestions. Best, ► Philg88 ◄ talk 16:45, 16 April 2014 (UTC)
  • Hi RHaworth, that page is part of the EP extension; that's why it is not editable in the same way that the average page is. I would suggest posting at WP:ENB to get a broader discussion. However, in the interim, there does not appear to be any reason to keep the page protected; potential overlap in coverage and article titling are both editorial issues, the article in question covers more than simply sex-selective abortion, and its content appears to be a valid encyclopedic topic. Nikkimaria (talk) 14:20, 17 April 2014 (UTC)
  • I have removed the move protection but I think the title should be gender imbalance in China and it requires an admin to move it to that title. As to posting to WP:ENB, I am hesitant - my complaint is related to this particular professor and possibly even to this particular topic. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 00:26, 18 April 2014 (UTC)
  • Thank you for unprotecting. Hopefully some agreement can be reached regarding appropriate title and scope. Nikkimaria (talk) 01:56, 18 April 2014 (UTC)

Chattanooga

Was working on this page when it was deleted, originally it was flagged for having a very broad title "Biological & Environmental Sciences". Which absolutely was titled incorrectly. This was changed to University of Tennessee at Chattanooga: Department of Biological & Environmental Sciences and flagged as a part of Wikiproject universities and I was in the process of adding more information to the article in an attempt to do something similar to Cornell University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences which is linked from Cornell University in order to provide more information regarding the department referenced.

The link would go into a group of links at University of Tennessee at Chattanooga to give further information regarding the departments and colleges at the university and hopefully turned into a sidebar similar to the Cornell University example above. Please reconsider deletion of this info I was rather upset when I went to add a box with department statistics to the wiki and it had been deleted. Please forgive me for being slow at learning how to do this as it is the first wiki page I have attempted to contribute towards. —Faugaun (talk) 00:19, 17 April 2014 (UTC)

  • There is no need to copy&paste stuff into your message - please learn the concept of links. Similarly your undeletion request is ridiculously overlong. I think there is a general feeling that articles about individual university departments are not needed and the article for this university is not too long. So simply put your text in University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 12:34, 17 April 2014 (UTC)

Am I missing something, or did you upgrade an editor's talk page template from "Considering Retirement" to "Retired" with this edit? --McGeddon (talk) 07:54, 18 April 2014 (UTC)

  • Yes, so what? You saw the edit summary. However chequered a career an editor may have had in the past, I believe them fully entitled to blank their talk page providing that the info. remains in the edit history. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:31, 18 April 2014 (UTC)

Actually WP:REMOVED has some limits on what you can blank from your own talk page. But I'm asking why you changed the "Considering Retirement" template to "Retired". Is this the result of an off-wiki discussion? --McGeddon (talk) 17:40, 18 April 2014 (UTC)

  • Does it matter? The user has edited the page after me and now insists on a retired tag. Please accept it and stop harassing him. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 17:44, 18 April 2014 (UTC)

It matters if a user announces they are "considering retirement" and someone else goes ahead and updates their talk page to say that they have now actually 100% "retired". If they've asked off-wiki for you to do this, fair enough, but I can't see anywhere where the user requests or supports this. That they haven't reverted you or objected may simply mean that they think Wikipedia has forcibly retired them as part of the blocking process. --McGeddon (talk) 17:53, 18 April 2014 (UTC)

Oh, as you say, I think it's probably better if I keep clear of his talk page, he'd probably just see a retirement question as more harrassment. If you updated his talk page to "retired" because he asked you to; fine, let's leave it there. If you changed the template by mistake, or because you saw that he'd given up making unblock requests and decided he was therefore effectively retired, please revert your edit. For all I know 44robby logged in today, saw a "retired" message, and concluded that Wikipedia (or me personally) has forced retirement upon him when he was only considering it. And if he makes another unblock request, the apparent claim that he has voluntarily retired will affect the admin's decision. --McGeddon (talk) 18:06, 18 April 2014 (UTC)

On second thoughts: please email an offer of how much you will pay me to do this job, alternatively raise the matter at deletion review. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:54, 19 April 2014 (UTC)

It's simple fan fiction. Obviously the blue links would link to somewhere on my own wiki. The links were simply only there to make the page seem realistic. I wasn't going to disruptively make separate pages for all of them on this site, for obvious reasons. It's fiction. --RachelRice (talk) 10:57, 19 April 2014 (UTC)

I don't think that is necessary given the reason for my request. All I requested was a simple temporary un-deletion of the pages so I can move the source of each page to a separate wiki, something you didn't allow me to do beforehand, following an immediate deletion with no such warning. I don't believe this is asking for much. --RachelRice (talk) 11:10, 19 April 2014 (UTC)

Hi there, I believe you deleted Twibanire esterification without paying attention to the references provided. I have gone over the discussion as to why Twibanire esterification had been deleted previously. I do find that both the first creator of the page and the person who deleted it had not read the paper in which the reaction was actually named: [1]. This reference is in my opinion the key here because it is here where the reaction was actually named. Read the paper carefully. If this reference had been provided in the first place, I don't believe the page should have been deleted back then. You could modify it to your liking if you want but again, notice that the reaction was named in the publication given in the reference below. The lack to provide this citing source is probably what led to the initial deletion. (Carcasone321 (talk) 08:52, 20 April 2014 (UTC))

  • Fine, it has been named but does that make it notable? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 13:57, 20 April 2014 (UTC)

Happy easter. Yes it looks notable especially given it's applications so far. I think there is a paper where the method was used to easily make Lyme disease antigens, a process which would otherwise be difficult and long,[1] maradolopids is also quite difficult to make from what I gather, but with this method, only two steps are required.[2] I have also come across several other papers which make mention the use of the new methodology.[3][4][5][6][7][8] The method even appears among new esterification methodologies on the organic chemistry portal page.[9] There are also other sources which cite its use but I don't have enough time to find all.[10][11] During my search this morning I also came across a review published in adrichimica acta, a high impact journal, which summarizes the very method.[12] There are several other sources to which in my opinion justify its notability. If something can be cited so many times and it's judged not to be notable, I don't know what is. Here are several other sources.[13][14] — (Carcasone321 (talk) 15:44, 20 April 2014 (UTC))

  • Please do not try to use <ref> tags on this page. And there is no point in telling me anyway. This is an encyclopedia not another scientific journal. What we need are references from the big world outside. If you can provide those, submit a decent article via AfC. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 16:02, 20 April 2014 (UTC)

Oh oh. sorry for spamming your page with refs Mr. I added them as you made mention of a question of notability. So again, I still think you were wrong to delete the article. Enjoy your editing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Carcasone321 (talkcontribs)

  • What do you think of my suggestion that you should re-submit via AfC? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 16:49, 20 April 2014 (UTC)

It's a constructive suggestion thank you very much. I did not however, think that it was necessary but oh well. I thought that the article could be improved for sure but not deleted. (Carcasone321 (talk) 17:32, 20 April 2014 (UTC))

YOURvoice page

Hi, I see you have deleted the page I created for the YOURvoice political party. Could you explain why this has been done? I'm new to creating / editing pages on Wikipedia so any help in pointing out what I need to do to correct the page would be great. Thanks, nathanjmassey (talk) 20:03, 20 April 2014 (UTC)

  • Doktorbuk (talk · contribs) put an edit summary of "just not notable enough" when applying the speedy tag. That sums it up nicely. Fielding one candidate in one European Parliamentary constituency is simply no evidence of notability. At 631 bytes, the article was hopelessly stubby and you had made no attempt to provide references. Come back (in a couple of years, if ever) when you can actually provide links to significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:39, 20 April 2014 (UTC)
  • I agree notability is clearly an issue here. (Carcasone321 (talk) 23:04, 20 April 2014 (UTC))
  • User:Nathanjmassey - in the same region, LibertyGB has no article either, and iirc it was created and deleted along similar lines as YourVoice. Standing for election is not an automatic notability pass (read David Boothroyd's History of British Political Parties to explore the hundreds of parties who thought differently; so many have passed from obscurity to even more obscurity.). I'm sure that the community will look kindly on recreating the article if there's a significant result on May 22nd. — doktorb wordsdeeds 02:43, 21 April 2014 (UTC)

Military Cross and two Bars

Military Cross and two Bars was a redirection page deleted as a duplicate of Military Cross to which it pointed. The deletion was made in good faith however the page was called by 6 templates (that manage post-nominal letters for the UK 1 2, Canada 3 4 and New Zealand 5 6) which is in turned referenced by 21 pages which are members of Category:Recipients of the Military Cross and two Bars. The page is used to populate the mouse-over event with the name of the award when a visitor holds their mouse pointer over the post-nominal letters with the click event causes the Military Cross page to load. I would like to restore the redirection page, do you have an objection? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sinesurfer (talkcontribs)

  • I had never encountered that as a justification for redirects before. (But should we call it a cross-reference rather than a redirect!?) The problem was that Kirrages (talk · contribs) had been creating (or even converting) them as silly stubs instead of redirects. No objection to recreation. Do you also need Military Medal and two Bars? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 09:23, 21 April 2014 (UTC)

[1] When you said '"never encountered that as a justification for redirects before"' do you for the deletion or restoration of the page? [2] Redirects to stubs, oh. I dropped the redirects from my watchlist (and have added 'em back onto the watchlist). You're that the Victoria Cross and bar description was (1) of the award and not the receipient and (2) would fail to populate into the mouse-over event. [3] "Military Medal and two bars" now that I've caught up, yes. May I please also have MM and two bars restored as well. -- Karl Stephens ( talk | contribs ) 09:15, 22 April 2014 (UTC)

  • Comments [1] and [2] above are incomprehensible. As to [3], did you not see my use of the word "recreation"? There were no edits worth restoring. But rather than insist that you re-create them, it was almost as easy for me to restore them. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 00:08, 23 April 2014 (UTC)

Pedals (The Nottingham Cycling Campaign)

Hi RHaworth, I see you have deleted my article. I am confident that the organisation will satisfy the criteria for notoriety if I add additional third party citations. Indeed there are many similar pages for cycling campaign groups around the such as the Cycling Campaign for North Bedfordshire. Pedals has been around for thirty years and has been influential in public transport policy over that time. The article was still under development. Sorry I thought there would be a notoriety/lack of sources warnings before a page is deleted. Is it possible to email me the content, so I can rethink it? Many thanks, IsambardKBrunel (talk) 20:17, 21 April 2014 (UTC)

  • Now if it has done something to make it notorious then it might well be worth an article. But for good old notability, I doubt if it passes muster. Also, I suspect that you should kindly have the decency to wait until someone with no COI thinks the organisation is notable and writes about it here. Text emailed. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:46, 21 April 2014 (UTC)

Template: Paris bridge and Paris bridge/doc

Template:Paris bridge and Template:Paris bridge/doc were deleted just after I had done some work on the the documents section. I would like to able to retrieve my work. I have email enabled. What happened? — Dogmaticeclectic (talk) 01:02, 23 April 2014 (UTC)

  • I disagree with its deletion. If you want it deleted, raise the matter at WP:TFD. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 01:06, 23 April 2014 (UTC)

Could you please explain why you think WP:T2 doesn't apply? Dogmaticeclectic (talk) 01:08, 23 April 2014 (UTC)

  • Because it is transcluded from literally hundreds of pages. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 01:10, 23 April 2014 (UTC)

Neither of the template speedy deletion criteria mention transclusion count as a valid reason for declining speedy deletion. I would appreciate it if you linked me to a policy that states this. Dogmaticeclectic (talk) 01:13, 23 April 2014 (UTC)

Winston's Wish charity

Hi Roger, we have vastly improved the page for the charity Winston's Wish and would like it to be restored as we now feel it meets guidelines. The article is neutral and we have added a number of references to national publications. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 135.196.165.98 (talk) 08:05, 23 April 2014 (UTC)

Shenley Radford Youth F.C.

RHaworth You recently deleted a page which I created yesterday and i don't understand why? My purpose of creating this page is to identify a local youth club which no longer exists in the Birmingham area. The football team was well known throughout Birmingham and has been re established after an amalgamation. I'm a new user to wiki but hope to contribute and create football teams in the Birmingham area including past and present youth leagues affiliated / connected to the Birmingham FA. I would appreciate any help or advice as there appears to be quiet a lot to take in when creating a football page. However i used a template from another team and used sufficient cited references considering the team no longer exists. gr1226

  • Which of the words "does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject" do you not understand? Distinct shortage of independent evidence of notability. I suggest do not attempt to re-submit - a local amateur club is unlikely to meet our notability criteria. Incidentally, I saw File:George Cadbury opening Allens Cross Sports Ground.jpg got deleted. Why did you try and upload it as fair use - surely you upload this to the Commons with a {{PD-old-70}} tag? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:36, 23 April 2014 (UTC)

Hello, I noticed you recently deleted the article Tope Tedela just a month ago citing notability as your reasons when I tried creating it. To the best of my knowledge about WP:GNG the actor is notable enough to be on Wikipedia. I am guessing the former Wikipedian that created the article probably wrote it very poorly hence the deletion. Pennsylvania Patient Safety Authority

An editor has asked for a deletion review of Pennsylvania Patient Safety Authority. Because you closed the deletion discussion for this page, speedily deleted it, or otherwise were interested in the page, you might want to participate in the deletion review. Pennsylvania Patient Safety Authority 19:21, 23 April 2014 (UTC) MMinetti

Extended content
This message is an appeal of the Wikipedia decision to delete a Wikipedia page describing the Pennsylvania Patient Safety Authority.

Wikipedia explained the reasons why the page was deleted. As such, we would like to work with Wikipedia to resolve the issues through conduct of the following: • removing the Authority logo, • paraphrasing original source material in another fashion and retaining the referenced sources (i.e., not quoted verbatim from external sources), • verifying that the page avoids a promotional tone, as that is not our intent, and • emphasizing the multiple, independent, reliable sources that provide significant coverage.

Wikipedia originally asked me, the page author, to add in a variety of external sources, which were incorporated. In addition, new information (i.e., event report numbers from healthcare facilities in Pennsylvania) will soon be available to be added, further justifying reinstatement of the page.

A few weeks ago, I was trying to ensure my user name, MMinetti, would not display as the page title; rather that “Pennsylvania Patient Safety Authority” would appear. After additional research, I found that my user name would not appear. However, I had previously communicated directly with Wikipedia editors, and we freely discussed their concerns that a formal name change was associated with promotional editing, following which we resolved how to display a title rather than user name. However, the transcript of this process could appear misleading, out of context.

Shortly after the page was live, I was notified of the speedy deletion, and I contested the deletion. I explained with the following text: “The information submitted would be reviewed and edited where Wikipedia is requesting and that the information is good public knowledge information.” Moments later my page was officially deleted.

I freely disclose my affiliation with the Pennsylvania Patient Safety Authority. The Pennsylvania Patient Safety Authority contracts ECRI Institute, the entity that employs me.

Given the above suggested solutions, I can safely assure you that there will be no copyright violation. I respectfully request that you restore the page so we can work to meet Wikipedia standards.

Thank you for your consideration, MMinetti
