Draft: The Pauses deletion

Hey RHaworth - I'm looking for guidance on what needed to be changes for draft:The Pauses article to adhere to G11. Looking over the draft and the rule, I'm having trouble finding the conflict. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Larkaen (talkcontribs) 15:14, 8 March 2018 (UTC)

  • It is pointless to create an article with a speedy delete tag in place. But that is what you did and left the tag there for two further edits. But in any case kindly have the decency to wait until someone with no CoI, thinks your band is notable and writes about it here. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 13:36, 9 March 2018 (UTC)

Sorry for leaving in the speedy deletion tag in, but I didn't realize I was supposed to take it out. The page instructions indicated that I should make my case against it within the talk page, not through editing it out. This is not my band, not much more I can say about that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Larkaen (talkcontribs) 15:50, 13 March 2018 (UTC)

Ozana Giusca page

Hello. I've received a notification that you deleted my page. My question is how can this page fulfill all wikipedia's requirements? I read your comment that Youtube and Facebook aren't reliable sources so I deleted the links to them. What else was wrong and what can I do to change it? Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by OzanaG (talkcontribs)

Will like to edit this article

@RHaworth, sorry i replied late, kindly define a sock? i don't understand what you meant, if you recall; i earlier requested an admin to unblock Winning Jah article creation, without that, i don't have time creating even a draft sir, If he already has an existing page, kindly unblock or revert so i can edit., I am from Ghana and my name is James, a student, am not a Nigerian, if you don't mind revert Winning Jah so i could read and edit it, or do it when you feel like, here are links: [1], [2], [3]. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jaynee007 (talkcontribs) 12:47, 11 March 2018 (UTC)

  • Sock = sock puppet. I am suggesting that you are yet another account created by Winningjahofficial (talk · contribs) but for some strange reason I am still talking to you. "I don't have time" - too bad - if you are not prepared to work in draft space, you won't get an article. I am not going to unprotect Winning Jah until an independent reviewer thinks that notability has been established. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:26, 11 March 2018 (UTC)

Please try to fix wrong doing of yours!

You have marked Draft:JoopeA for deletation based on not true copyrights claim. Deleting an article without an acceptable reason and without giving even 1 hour to object or fix, not only is disappointing but also unbelievable. You did not give me time to edit and as soon as I got the notification the draft was deleted with all work I've done and time I've spent. The reason has mentioned was not true. There was not any copyright on pride.joopea.info (Please read the domain name! You should be different than a robot!) or at least look at the footer in homepage of the pride.joopea.info. It's our own website and all JoopeA's content is under CC v4 ([4]). I'm requesting you to restore the draft and give me enough time to cite again the part of the content that you marked as copyright ignorantly. Or send me the code of the page which I can't access anymore. — Raham Rafiee 11:51, 12 March 2018 (UTC)

Request to unblock

@RHaworth, Hello sir, something saddens my heart, my teacher told us we could contribute to wikipedia, because we also read what other people contributed here, i also learnt that wikipedia is a collective contributions by volunteers, if really it works that way, when will Africans grow? because am a little boy, from the picture i saw on your users page, you should be my grandpa, what i expected from admins is to encourage children like me and many others, by educating us what technology is, mostly in Africa, where we don't have resources, i just went to read the meaning of sock puppet, which am not, everyone shouldn't be tagged with suspicious names, i don't think artists would have time to come here and tell us about them selves, exclusion on earth is not good, am a christian, you can inbox me on my Facebook.( https://www.facebook.com/neequayejames) i replied late because i was studying my books. Do you also need my documents? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jaynee007 (talkcontribs) 06:58, 13 March 2018 (UTC)

@RHaworth, am not insisting or trying to be rude, am too young for that, i couldn't find where to put my draft, because the title is totally blocked from creations, so i wrote this, check, if possible create the draft or add. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jaynee007 (talkcontribs)

  • "Couldn't find where to put my draft". Don't be ridiculous. I have already told you to put it at draft:Winning Jah (2). Why is that concept so difficult to understand? Please reply. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 13:06, 13 March 2018 (UTC)
  • Djm-leighpark, note that this edit was vandalism and I would have been justified in blocking you for it. The most that would have been acceptable would have been to disable the mainspace categories. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 13:06, 13 March 2018 (UTC)

@|RHaworth Hello sir, i finally saw the draft space, and i did exactly as you instructed, am done with that, here is the link, Draft:Winning Jah (2). thanks for teaching. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jaynee007 (talkcontribs) 21:03, 14 March 2018 (UTC)

@RHaworth, Happy sunday sir, i think i did a perfect research and concluded with the article, i can't do it better than this, how do i submit it for review sir? Here is the [invalid] link, (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Winning_Jah_(2)) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jaynee007 (talkcontribs) 17:57, 25 March 2018 (UTC)

  • May I introduce you to two concepts: subsections and paragraphs. Your article contained one solid, unbroken slab of text 12k bytes long. That is downright ugly. When you have fixed that, slap {{subst:submit}} at the top of the article and wait a few weeks. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:22, 25 March 2018 (UTC)

Songs of Paapieye

Hello. You deleted the page Songs of Paapieye for lack of notability because the artist SK Kakraba himself doesn't have an article. I never got a chance to challenge this speedy deletion because I was asleep. Quite simply, I would quite like to retrieve the page for the album and make a page for SK Kakraba himself. The page I made for the album was what I'd consider strong with an array of reliable third party sources, but if I do need to make a page for the artist too then I would like that, rather than have the whole project taken away. -- TangoTizerWolfstone (talk) 14:25, 13 March 2018 (UTC)

Areal schtup

Hello, I see that you deleted my article about English literature. Could you be so kind to explain as to why you made that decision? I personally thought it was a rather helpful article for people who are studying English literature and wonder: "Who gives an areal schtup?" Is it because it's to short? I could make the list longer if you think that's necessary. If the reason was factually incorrectness I will do some more research and make a more informed and accurate article. My first article was admittedly quite lazy and I shall try to make better ones in the future. Greetings, SlightlyChorophobicPirate3 (talk)

Deletion of Draft:Hilmar Páll Jóhannesson

Dear RHaworth,

The page I prepared over three days about Hilmar Páll Jóhannesson is not a hoax. It is all factual and I reviewed all my references both for accuracy and for accessibility. Will you please restore it? I was not able to find any commentary perhaps because it was deleted. Thank you for any clarification you can provide. — Vendradt (talk) 21:41, 14 March 2018 (UTC)

  • Your article contained 17 references. Which of them contained in-depth discussion about Hilmar? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:24, 15 March 2018 (UTC)

Dear RHaworth, Thank you for your message. In response to your enquiry. If any such in-depth discussion existed I would not have pursued a wikipedia article. The references accurately address the statements I made and several of them mention the subject of the contribution. I can add more references that make more use of the subject's name. I would appreciate any constructive advice about how to post the article. Yours sincerely, vendradt — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vendradt (talkcontribs) 21:02, 18 March 2018 (UTC)

  • "If any such in-depth discussion existed I would not have pursued a Wikipedia article". What a curious response. I suspect you mean "I recognise that Hilmar is not notable enough for an article but I am going to try anyway." Just as a matter of interest, which of your 17 references or any others that you could add even mention him? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 12:31, 19 March 2018 (UTC)

VIPO

Undelete article for the Virtual intellectual property organization. There are many independent references to the org and its importance in the area of law and the establishment of virtual intellectual property cited in the article cited by independent references included as footnotes. VIPO is an important piece of a story even already on Wikipedia (Richard Minsky page, Slart trademark dispute). The company was behind this entire action and is singlehandedly responsible for bringing and defending the first virtual intellectual property case to the courts and before the USPTO. If that is not noteworthy i do not know why there is anything at all published here. I disclose my bias on my user page...the sources and references cited are independent!! i admit im not the best programmer i would appreciate community help in cleaning the article up but definitely NOT deleting it...if slart is on minksys page then a VIPO page needs and deserves to exist!. period.Ill accept your comments for correction but most definitely and vehemently protest its deletion. it is a very important component of an important conversation. — JurisAmat (talk) 12:28, 15 March 2018 (UTC)jurisamat

Deleted jBase page

I am working on cleaning up some Pick database specific wiki entries related to jBase. Pick/jBase is a multi-value database that in ways is the grandfather of Nosql document databases. I am currently the Software Evangalist for Zumasys which currently owns the jBase flavor. I am reaching out to find out the issues with the jBase page and how best to resolve it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JBASE. For reference on jBase here are a couple initial links to review. jBase by the way is developed in England and is the backend of most of the Temenos banking software (called t24) ([5]).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pick_operating_system, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MultiValue, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NoSQL#Multivalue_databases. The primary goal here is to at minimum have a page similar to the other products in the field. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenQM or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocket_U2. I know the earlier pages were created by marketing users, I have been a developer in the systems since 1988 and my current job is to Evangalize and discuss what the system is. Most pick systems have been around since the 60's and until the nosql movement it was difficult to describe what we are.

Draft:Printerland - deleted post

Hi RHaworth, You recently deleted my page Draft:Printerland due to a copyright infringement. The message states: "This submission appears to be taken from printerland.co.uk/PrinterlandNews.aspx. Wikipedia cannot accept material copied from elsewhere, unless it explicitly and verifiably has been released to the world under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license or into the public domain and is written in an acceptable tone—this includes material that you own the copyright to. You should attribute the content of a draft to outside sources, using citations, but copying and pasting or closely paraphrasing sources is not acceptable. The entire draft should be written using your own words and structure."

I am more than happy to rectify my mistake, but was wondering if you could send back the text I created via email? I would greatly appreciate any help you can give. I would include a link to the page, as requested in your wikify box, however no page is live for me to link to. If you would be so kind as to un-delete this article, I would certainly appreciate it and I would change anything that might be construed as an advertisement. Draft:Oceans Deep.

As you might have gathered, I am quite new to drafting and editing with Wikipedia, but I am certainly open to direction and would gladly accept any pointers you might feel inclined to provide me. You created Template:User WikiProject Brazil/delete2 and in it made the unambiguous request that Template:User WPBrazil should be moved to that title. Having done the move Template:User WikiProject Brazil/delete2 qualified for deletion as an obviously implausible title and in turn Template:User WPBrazil qualified for deletion as a redirect to a deleted page. If that was was the case, why did you not simply apply a speedy delete tag to Template:User WPBrazil? Please reply.

Can you please help me? I want to do it right and correct. Can you please undelete my page so I can fix the mistakes? Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Asitask (talkcontribs) 21:02, 23 March 2018 (UTC)

  • Your contributions history confuses my usual CoI test but you probably deserve my usual "kindly" mantra. If you insist on trying again, at least go to the trouble to learn the proper formatting and location of links in articles. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:39, 24 March 2018 (UTC)

Thank you for your reply back. Are you saying the references I used are OK, but I formatted the links wrong? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Asitask (talkcontribs) 00:02, 25 March 2018 (UTC)

  • I am saying that this company probably does not meet our notability requirements and that your best bet is to give up now rather than spending further time on an hopeless endeavour. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:22, 25 March 2018 (UTC)

Blanked Talk Page

Why did you blank my talk page, in effect deleting my account deletion request? Thanks. Michael S Wayne 23:42, 23 March 2018 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Waynems (talkcontribs)

  • The concept of account deletion does not exist on Wikipedia. There is a right to vanish but I do not think you have done anything serious enough to justify its use. As the right to vanish page says, if you want to quit, just walk away - don't try and hide your past, just dismiss it as the folly of youth. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:39, 24 March 2018 (UTC)

Not trying to hide anything from my past, and youth passed me by long ago. I want to delete the account and make sure those in charge understand why. As I said before, several hundred hours were invested in updating high schools in Texas, and multiple, sometimes many, edits for individual schools were reverted over one or two small errors. This doesn't seem like an intelligent way to invite collaboration. Additionally, a Wikimedia continues to reject original artwork, claiming it exists in other locations on the web, and that it is highly unlikely I am the creator of the artwork. Many monitors and editors are rude, arrogant, and seem more concerned with formats than with content that is properly researched and accurate. Michael S Wayne 23:32, 24 March 2018 (UTC)

  • I hate it when I leave messages and people completely ignore them. If you had followed my link to the right to vanish page, you would have seen the words in bold: it is not possible to delete an account.. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:22, 25 March 2018 (UTC)

Speedy deletion Draft: Edwin van der Heide

Hello! The mentioned draft: Draft talk:Edwin van der Heide as deleted after recommendation for speedy deletion. This recommendation was made only after reading the first paragraph, and as I mentioned to the editor who recommended this (User talk:Legacypac#Deletion page Draft: Edwin van der Heide), this first paragraph just gives basic information on the artist, following basic art historian methodology (Name, where and when born, artistic disciplines, fields of activity), and therefore it is like to have coincidences with other sources, that were quoted. There was not much space for creativity there, but the rest of the article is fully original text that was unfortunately not reviewed. I think it is a pity to dismiss all this work and I would appreciate a second review. Of course I am open to make changes on the first paragraph. I would appreciate a positive reply. Best! Artmus25 (talk) 17:00, 24 March 2018 (UTC)

Please let's keep the discussion in one place on my talkpage. This Admin watches that. Legacypac (talk) 17:14, 24 March 2018 (UTC)

Mohsin Ashraf Chaudhary

Hello RHaworth, can you please have a look at this article --> Mohsin Ashraf Chaudhary ... I tagged it with CSD under Db-g11 becoz looks like a speedy delete candidate to me ...and talk page contest comments looks like fan work ... thanks Adamstraw99 (talk) 19:44, 24 March 2018 (UTC)

Adamstraw99 RHaworth deleted the article. (talk page stalker) --TheSandDoctor Talk 20:06, 24 March 2018 (UTC)

Yup, I just saw... thanks Adamstraw99 (talk) 20:09, 24 March 2018 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion of Kestutis Rasimavicius

Hi RHaworth. With regards to deletion of Kestutis Rasimavicius under G11 criteria. I attempted to keep the article as factual, neutral and free of puffery. Could you advise of changes needed to be made? And with regards to A7 I would like you to look into the indications of importance as I referenced the US national level sports achievements and international science contributions. I believe this surpasses many existing articles and merits a wiki documentation and removal of creation protection. — FitWriter (talk) 12:36, 25 March 2018 (UTC)

  • You probably deserve my usual "kindly" mantra but I will suggest that you retry via AfC. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:22, 25 March 2018 (UTC)

Atari Flashback BASIC

Hi RHaworth, You deleted my Atari Flashback BASIC draft at this title, appreciate if you would let me have a copy to share elsewhere. Please also reconsider publishing it here, it's a free programming language for people to write Atari 2600 games for the new portable Atari console that's been released. The article links to that wiki entry (Atari Flashback portable) as well as my online virtual Atari 2600 box with 20 playable and downloadable free Atari Flashback BASIC games and programming instructions. The BASIC games are free too and only promote awareness of BASIC programming for education and fun; my company creates SQL Server products which are completely unrelated but I did write commercial video games in BASIC and Machine language in the 80's: http://software.bbsdocumentary.com/TANDY/COCO/BESTBBS/ Thank you, Tom Babich — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.4.203.37 (talk) 19:17, 25 March 2018 (UTC)

  • Normally I refuse to talk to IP addresses and especially to one who cannot even provide a link to the page in question. But I have emailed the text to try and get rid of you. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:22, 25 March 2018 (UTC)

Corporate360 immediately recreated

I noticed that Corporate360 was recreated by Special:Contributions/Devusruthi ~36 hours after you deleted the page as G11. I put a Speedy on it, and I salted it. That was a first for me, so let me know if I got that wrong. --Theredproject (talk) 16:37, 26 March 2018 (UTC)

Seems perfect to me (TPS) Legacypac (talk) 16:46, 26 March 2018 (UTC)
  • Theredproject, just to point out {{salt}} does not salt an article. It produces a recommendation that the title should be salted. The actual salting can only be done after the page has been deleted. I this case, I agreed with your recommendation and also ensured that three users associated with the page were all blocked. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:42, 28 March 2018 (UTC)

Genuinely curious, but I've been looking all day for where this was a copyvio of. I couldn't find entire paragraphs from the text in the supposed source. Did I miss something obvious? Primefac (talk) 18:41, 27 March 2018 (UTC)

  • I would say you missed the obvious that the page was a speedy candidate. The only uncertainty was what tag to apply - I would have accepted {{db-madeup}} or a non-notability claim. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:42, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
Nice to see that you don't actually pay attention to which tag is on the page. Primefac (talk) 13:32, 28 March 2018 (UTC)

OUSB new page

Hey there. I am the author (with helpers) for OUSB. I am working on making this a page. I am new on wikki. You deleted it in whole, but I disagree with you. help me make a good or better page. I am not sure how to save a draft page so it got published not expecting someone like you to show up so soon. Help make it better. talk. Cheers, Livethankful (talk) 23:44, 27 March 2018 (UTC)

  • Even the sacred name bible page admits "very few of these bibles have been noted or reviewed by scholars outside the sacred name movement". I doubt whether it is possible to "make it better". — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:42, 28 March 2018 (UTC)

Hi Roger, Can you please restore access to a deleted article N-iX? I won't publish it again, but can at least use it as a training ground. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cheechoo2 (talkcontribs) 08:39, 28 March 2018 (UTC)

Question about deleted sandbox page

I received the following message in my sandbox in January. (It's in red when I go to my Sandbox: "A page with this title has previously been moved or deleted. … ". I wasn't aware of the time limit for working on articles. I was kind of experimenting with starting an article. I guess I misunderstood what the Sandbox was for and the rule about not working on it regularly. I'm confused about what was deleted. It sounds like it was Creating User/Sandbox MJR524. That doesn't mean I can't create another article, does it? Seeing that red box in the Sandbox with my username made me feel like I couldn't do anything else there. Is there a way to remove it or does it stay there forever? Any information you can give me about his would be much appreciated. Thanks for your help. Mjr524 (talk) 09:16, 28 March 2018 (UTC)

  • There is no need to quote the deletion log entry - I am quite capable of following the link which you did not provide. An untagged user sandbox can usually survive untouched indefinitely but you had put an AfD tag on yours which invoked the six months rule for drafts. There is nothing to prevent you creating a new sandbox. Also I have moved the previous state to draft:Green Day fans singing Bohemian Rhapsody but I suggest you put its content in the Green Day article rather than trying to create a new article. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:42, 28 March 2018 (UTC)

undeleted your deletion

You should probably see if a disambig page is truly unnecessary before deleting it... I recreated the route 625 page. —Famartin (talk) 10:58, 28 March 2018 (UTC)

this one. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 12:07, 28 March 2018 (UTC)

Hi RHaworth! I see you refused my request to speedily delete this redirect, which would have allowed me to make Stephen King (surveyor) the title of the article, for reasons which I listed. I have gone through this sort of process before without too much problem: I posted a note on Stephen King Jr.'s talk page a week or so ago and received no countervailing arguments.

The reason you gave for "unspeedying" it was that there were several articles that linked to Stephen King (surveyor). My intention was to rename Stephen King Jr. article to Stephen King (surveyor) as soon as that title was free, though the Admins who performed the task on those other occasions saved me the trouble.

Is there a better way to apply for moving an article over a redirect? Thank you for your service. Doug butler (talk) 12:13, 28 March 2018 (UTC)

(talk page stalker)@Doug butler: You can apply for the page mover right, which allows you to do exactly that. You'll generally need to have about 3,000 edits and been editing Wikipedia regularly for six months; then go to Wikipedia:Requests for permissions and ask. UK Railways station re-openings

Re: UK railway station openings / reopenings by year. You seem to delete a lot of pages RH, I wasn`t aware that Wikipedia was short of server space, is it ? This was not the first page I`ve started, but, do you know what ? Every other page had the same "we think this page should be deleted tag" put on it, then went on to get reasonable numbers of hits, every one, without exeception. What makes me even more annoyed is I didn`t want to waste my time starting a page then getting nto arguments with other Wikipedia editors so I put discussions on two Wikipedia railway pages and not only did nobody say we think that`s a bad idea, but nobody stated there was another page the same, which they wouldn`t because, as it happens, there isn`t. As far as I can tell that new page has been deleted and I`m pretty annoyed about it, to be frank I`ve got better things to do with my time.

Three pages I started (all proposed for deletion....)

  • Erna Petri av page hits in last 20 days = 12 (= @4500 per year)
  • Fiesta Nightclub av hits in past 20 days = 6 (= @2200 per year)
  • "Operation Sea Lion : The Sandhurst Wargame" av hits in past 90 days = 66 per day (= @24,000 per year)

Maybe I do know a bit about what Wikipedia readers want to read ? And anyway, the page you think is a duplicate only goes back to 1995, I would have thought the page I started should go back to at least 1965, possibly all the way back ? -- JustinSmith (talk) 12:57, 28 March 2018 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) @JustinSmith: "You seem to delete a lot of pages RH" - Don't worry, some of us restore them. Restored to Draft:UK railway station openings / reopenings by year. If you want to make top-notch list articles, speak to "Mr Featured List", The Rambling Man. — Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 15:33, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
  • What concerns me more here (apart from the deletion of an article over what was clearly an AfD issue at minimum, or the deletion of such a newly started article) was the fact that once again RHaworth was happy to speedy delete yet another article almost immediately, despite it being an obviously technically invalid CSD criterion, "[a] recently created article with no relevant page history that duplicates an existing English Wikipedia topic." Amazingly enough, GB railway history and the opening of stations is a little longer than just since 1995. A10 also has an explicit exclusion for the splitting or restructuring of large articles, and this topic is already recognised as filling its own category. This was neither a valid CSD nomination, nor an appropriate CSD on which to delete an article. As CSD is specific, Administrators should take care not to speedy delete pages or media except in the most obvious cases. It is the function of CSD to clean up only the obvious detritus, not to go near anything where there is any scope for question, and this applies even though some administrators still seem to think they are also the arbiters of content issues. Andy Dingley (talk) 16:00, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
@Andy Dingley: Indeed. Unless the article is vandalism / hoax (WP:G3), libellous (WP:G10) or a copyright violation (WP:G12) there is generally no urgency to delete it, and moving it to draft or starting an AfD debate instead can sometimes be the better option as we won't get an editor storming off in a huff telling their friends not to bother with Wikipedia as all they do is delete your work. Or something like that. — Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 16:10, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
  • Go and do some training for WMF / WMUK somewhere. Hear the "I wrote something and then it was deleted immediately with no discussion" stories - it's so often the same admin names that come up, over and over again. Andy Dingley (talk) 16:14, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
I've got real-life friends who've tried to edit Wikipedia - same problem comes up, and has done for at least 10 years. — Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 16:18, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
