Emotional Speech Blocks Deletion Syndrome
[Title width guide. Delete above here if no further edits - already in archive. If further edits, move below here.]
As you are the protecting admin, can you please fix the double redirect to Symbiosis International (Deemed University). Also, the spelling of 'management' is wrong in the title so can you please move the page to the correct title. Thanks. Pkbwcgs (talk) 12:18, 20 December 2017 (UTC)
- Redirect created on correct spelling. Given the past history, no harm in leaving the one on the wrong spelling. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 12:48, 21 December 2017 (UTC)

These socks apparently belong to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Fixer88, so I've tagged them as such. The master has been unblocked by arbcom and may be unrelated, but I'll leave that for the SPI people to sort out. Please make sure everything in Category:Suspected Wikipedia sockpuppets of Fixer88 has their talk page access revoked, as they are still spouting nonsense on talk pages. Query on deletion
The page Jaathivyavasthitiyum Keralacharitravum has been deleted. This was a social history published in the early 80s that raised a storm in the historical circles and was widely talked and discussed in the public space. This book debunked the then prevailing half researched histories and is must to any person attempting to study Kerala History or the caste system in Kerala. More details needed to go into the page and I was still looking into how full details and links could be provided. Please restore the page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pkjaya (talk • contribs) 06:52, 22 December 2017 (UTC)

Re: Automatic number plate recognition in the united kingdom. Hi, did you see the speedy deletion being contested on the talk page? The amount of copied text was a small part of the page and mich of it was quotes so not a copyvio. I believe your actions were unjustified. What is the procedure to review this? — Whizz40 (talk)

Undelete Talk:ePUAP
RHaworth, please do not delete talk pages without any previous consideration. There's an outgoing undeletion request as the speedy deletion of this article was irrelevant. If the deletion is considered irrelevant and contested, you should not delete its related pages. Besides, you didn't check its links – this talk page contained a message to the other admin about this misunderstanding and was a reference on Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion#ePUAP. If we were only using policies (like G8), we would not have admins, but only bots for this job. Please restore it now! --RezonansowyakaRezy (talk | contribs) 00:52, 23 December 2017 (UTC)

Uniranks
Please restore UniRanks Ranking of Rankings of World Universities. I had not had the chance to respond yet about the importance of the article, and it was speedily deleted. In fact the aggregate ranking by UniRanks is quite important and it should not be deleted. The importance of this ranking is discussed in this blog on https://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-search-selection/1960403-uniranks-2017-aggregate-ranking-of-multiple-rankings-of-world-universities.html. There are ranking like the Times Higher Education 'Table of Tables' that aggregate the results of the three main ranking tables in the UK into one ranking table for students to use. This is similarly done for international rankings by UniRanks. Please promptly restore The Ranking of Rankings by Uniranks page as it is very important for some students. Socking abandoned
Hi there. I noticed that you summarily deleted the profiles I created at Ronald P. Schaefer, Steve Babaeko and Draft:Ogaga Ifowodo without giving me a chance to defend myself. The reason was listed as G6 Undisclosed Paid Editing. This issue has been investigated in a sockpuppet investigation and I've been cleared. You can read more about it on my talk page. The profiles you deleted were NOT created via paid editing. The subjects are important and notable academic and professional subjects in African linguistics, entertainment, and literature, and deserve to be profiled. If there is an issue with the profiles, I believe that my attention should have been called to them before a summary delete is executed since both pages had been reviewed and relevant edits made to them by the wikipedia community before now. Therefore, I am writing to request that you please kindly undelete the pages and the draft as soon as you can, so I can continue to improve them. I'll appreciate it. Thank you. Hi there. Could you please explain why you deleted Stephen Dure as G10? I re-checked it and I still don't see it. Regards SoWhy 10:19, 24 December 2017 (UTC)
- Gosh - four more restores! Oh well, it is Christmas. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:37, 24 December 2017 (UTC)
- You have restored the article Stephen Dure after it was deleted because of G:10. As an admin I could have deleted this myself because of a potential BLP violation, but I left it to another admin, who concurred with my opinion. I proposed this speedy deletion because of naming and shaming a person who was never convicted and who then took his own life. There is no room for such an despicable article in wikipedia. At this moment this article has been proposed for deletion by User:Cnzx and another user has already removed this naming and shaming.
- The same goes for the article Dark Justice (group) by the same author User:Reg Hill, where a number of convicted people have been named. The article could well do without naming these people and having just stated that the court has already successfully secured the prosecution of six men. This article can survive on its own merits without naming the convicts. — JoJan (talk) 13:10, 25 December 2017 (UTC)
- JoJan, your speedy tag made no indication of what you felt was being attacked. But in any case speedy was the wrong approach - you should have removed the offending material and, if you felt strongly, hidden the edits containing it. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:07, 25 December 2017 (UTC)

LÉ William Butler Yeats - move rationale?
Hiya. In the absence of an edit summ, or a related talk-page discussion, can you help me understand the rationale for this move? I ask primarily as I'd like to understand the implications before addressing any redirection or other changes that may be appropriate on the calling pages and templates (like Samuel Beckett-class offshore patrol vessel, Template:Irish Naval Service, Template:Active Irish Naval Service Vessels). And, indeed, the convention which seems to have been adopted for all of the current and past vessels linked from these targets. Any information you can provide on the rationale or drivers for the move would assist in avoiding re-work or conflicting edits. (I am sure there is a rationale. And I'm sure its sound. I would like however to understand it. So we can consider what to do with the other 16 vessel articles that use a similar naming convention). Cheers. Guliolopez (talk) 18:39, 26 December 2017 (UTC)
- To my disgust, I find that utterly unnecessary suffices are widespread in articles about naval vessels so if you insist on moving it back, I shall take no action. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 19:35, 26 December 2017 (UTC)
Hiya. To be honest I don't feel especially strongly about it. And, as you imply yourself, wouldn't normally see the need for a parens suffix - except in the case of a DAB issue. However, that said, the current/previous does seem to be based on some kind of convention (whether well-considered or not), and before seeking to break from that convention, it might be worth a discussion. As you suggest/imply, what I might do is move it back - but then open a thread on some related articles/templates/etc. And see if any consensus can be established. To either justify the status quo. Or to affect a change to it. Guliolopez (talk) 11:18, 27 December 2017 (UTC)

Deleting: Draft: Marcello Farabegoli
Dear Mr. Haworth, the page www.marcello-farabegoli.net is now a public domain - at the bottom of the page you can find "The text of this page (home) is released under the Creative Commons Zero Waiver 1.0 (CC0)")". The list of names on the page http://www.mak.at/en/salottovienna_-_brviennese_art_salon_in_trieste is certainly not copy-right protected, because it is the list of personalities that have been presented at the "Salotto.Vienna" and thus, in my opinion, directly conntected to the co-curator (co-author) Marcello Farabegoli of the event. If you wish, I will make a small selection of them. Please let me know if I am allowed to recreate the article. EyesOnALZ (Alzheimer's research project)
Dear RHaworth, I would like to ask about the deletion of the article on EyesOnALZ. It used material from the primary source (http://hcjournal.org/wecurealz/) and I have received their verbal permission to use the description (my fault, I did not ask to provide the correct type of copyright to Wikipedia). Different page (http://www.seriousgamemarket.com/2017/10/citizen-science-games-speeding-up.html) also used exactly the same information (parts word to word) from the primary source and therefore it was marked as copyright violation of the latter page. I would like to ask if/how a page can be restored with some parts deleted or rewritten? I do not have draft saved so it would be a shame to lose all citations. Milan Mathew Kordestani
This feels like an abuse of power. Your initial problems with the page were that it didn't have significant coverage of Milan as an equestrian. But now the article is much cleaner, and everything is cited and unbiased, yet you still nominate it for deletion. Come on, there are tons of references, media coverage, etc. Take a look at the draft Draft:Milan Mathew Kordestani. Actually read it. Compare it to Mary Gaylord McClean. I agree, the first two pages were like an advertisement, but this draft is not, it clearly has references and is written unbiasedly. Don't contest it just because the articles were poorly written in the past. This one passes all of Wikipedia's rules. Come on man what's going on? Please don't just delete pages, I want to fix the problem, not just cut it out, that's not productive and not what Wikipedia is about. All the best to you and I hope we can work this out. 2603:3024:1827:6E00:E5F4:8F40:4726:D8CA (talk) 00:29, 6 January 2018 (UTC)
BitExpress deleted
Roger, you left a note about deletion of the BitExpress stub. I do not have any problem with your deletion, but I prefer to tell you at least the reason, why I created that stub: I stumbled over a read link on the Digital Radio Mondiale pointing to bitXpress and tried to find out what it might had be the intended place. The only possible solution was BitExpress, which broadcasts in DRM. So I decided to create a stub with a link to their site for more info instead of a dead redlink. I do not have any connections and interest to do any advertising. So I will leave it as you want it. Lets keep links to dead pages in Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Treutwein (talk • contribs) 13:34, 5 January 2018 (UTC)
Deletion of Celtic Collections
Hi RHaworth I'm quite new to Wikipedia can I just ask the reason why our Celtic Collections Wiki page was deleted by you on Jan 1st 2018 the page had been live for nearly 3 months before you it was deleted? — Andrew Murphy Celtic (talk) 17:15, 5 January 2018 (UTC)
- Andrew Murphy Celtic, can I check whether you have declared that you a a paid editor yet, as discussed at User talk:Andrew Murphy Celtic#Managing a conflict of interest? — Cordless Larry (talk) 06:35, 6 January 2018 (UTC)
Cordless Larry, We got it looked at by a local journalist to check the grammar and layout I then gave up myself as I seemed to be going around in circles, an intern in the office gave it ago back in September/October and got it sorted and published so I'm confused to why it was deleted nearly 3 months later. — Andrew Murphy Celtic (talk) 11:57, 6 January 2018 (UTC)
- I will leave it to RHaworth to explain that, Andrew Murphy Celtic, but you seem to be dodging the WP:PAID issue. Have any of these editors, including the intern, made the declaration required by the terms of use? — Cordless Larry (talk) 12:46, 6 January 2018 (UTC)
Cordless Larry, I'm not dodging the PAID issue I told you we got a journalist to check it over the intern was on work experience and wasn't paid what more information do you need? I can see now it has been refused which I find very odd considering it was approved back in October and nothing has changed maybe you can explain that? — Andrew Murphy Celtic (talk) 13:29, 6 January 2018 (UTC)
- Andrew Murphy Celtic, WP:PAID states that "Interns are considered employees for this purpose. If they are directed or expected to edit Wikipedia as part of an internship, they must disclose". Moreover, as you explained here, you've been hired to write these articles, so you need to make the disclosure too. It's not hard to do - just follow the instructions at WP:PAID. — Cordless Larry (talk) 14:14, 6 January 2018 (UTC)
- Andrew Murphy Celtic, you certainly are dodging the paid issue. Where is your declaration of paid editing? But kindly have the decency to wait until someone with no CoI thinks your company is notable and writes about it here. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:35, 8 January 2018 (UTC)
Big Time Records
Hey I saw you deleted Big Time Records (United States) back in 2011, can you send me the text? Have an awesome day! Aaron Anon308308 (talk) 20:53, 5 January 2018 (UTC) IDK why that needs to be there, but it's there hahaahah
- Done haha. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:35, 8 January 2018 (UTC)
- Aaron, you ask "was there a reason it was deleted?" Please read this. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:10, 8 January 2018 (UTC)
I'm confused, I read the link, but it isn't showing that for this page anymore, since I reposted it. It's a true company, does it need more external links to prove that? Some news articles stating some of their shows, just trying to understand why it's being deleted. — Anon308308 (talk) 22:22, 8 January 2018 (UTC) Aaron
- Oh dear, the deletion log entry has now become terribly difficult to find - you have to click on "view history" and then on "view logs for this page". "True company": Wikipedia is not a trade directory. Indeed there are several Wikipedia articles about fictitious companies. Try and get your head round the concept of notability. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 15:23, 9 January 2018 (UTC)
Thilliarsingham
Hello again. I noticed that Nzamit was blocked as a sock of Thilliarsingham but that the latter is not blocked. I just wondered if it was an omission or voluntary. Thanks, —PaleoNeonate – 10:42, 6 January 2018 (UTC)
- Intentional. In the highly unlikely event that user;Thilliarsingham wished to write here on subjects other than himself, I would have no object to his doing so. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:35, 8 January 2018 (UTC)
Submission of Clarence McNair page
Greetings Roger, I have been trying to upload information about myself, which keeps getting deleted. I've re-edited the page several times so that the information doesn't seem ambiguous, however the page continues to get deleted. Can you help me write the page, so that I am within the guidelines? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Clarence McNair (talk • contribs) 23:23, 7 January 2018 (UTC)
- Clarence, help you?! You cannot be serious. You write about yourself on facebook. Here, you wait until a) you become notable and b) someone with no CoI writes about you. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:35, 8 January 2018 (UTC)
ThirdLove
I submitted an article for review at Draft:ThirdLove, and when i just checked it shows that you deleted it. The reason given was that it was a copyright violation and a direct copy of an article from Inc.com. I can assure you that i did not copy anything feom Inc.com amd anything included in the article was paraphrased. Also, can you please tell me the specific wording that you belive was a direct copy as I can rewrite or remove it to your satisfaction. Can you please restore the article so that it can be reviewed? Thank you for your time. -- Barkroid (talk) 02:46, 8 January 2018 (UTC)

Hello Roger, earlier today I moved Draft:Zaid Ali to user NS at User:Zayyam123/Zaid Ali because it was declined. Why would you revert my move? -- Saqib (talk) 12:23, 8 January 2018 (UTC)
- Why did you do the move to user space? It was perfectly OK in draftspace. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 21:08, 8 January 2018 (UTC)
OK. Because its submission was declined and the page cited unreliable sources which make it promotional so I thought we need to move it to user userspace. --Saqib (talk) 13:19, 9 January 2018 (UTC)
- There was no need to move it. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 15:23, 9 January 2018 (UTC)
bitglass
Hello, regarding the Wikipedia page for bitglass. This was created as a stub a year ago Jan 2017, and deleted before it was not populated. Last week, I created a complete page with over a dozen press and patent references. sent a note to the original Admin who deleted it, but he has not yet responded. please check the contents of the page you deleted. "bitglass wiki" is a popular search on google. and here is a list of articles on the Wall Street Journal on the company. Thanks for restoring this page in full. — Bnkausik (talk) 15:25, 8 January 2018 (UTC)
- Please read this. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 21:08, 8 January 2018 (UTC)
Don't understand your link. Company has hundreds of mentions just in the Wall Street Journal. Gather that does not merit a wikipedia page? I do have an email set up if you want to communicate directly. — Bnkausik (talk) 21:32, 8 January 2018 (UTC)
- Text emailed. I suggest re-submit via AfC. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 21:55, 8 January 2018 (UTC)
thanks for emailing content. as for re-submitting the article, how is that different from my first attempt last week? will be deleted by another admin? Bnkausik (talk) 23:36, 8 January 2018 (UTC)
- If you do not improve the references, then it is likely to be deleted again. But if you post in draftspace then it stands a good chance of surviving for six months. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 15:23, 9 January 2018 (UTC)

Can you please fix the issue. The article which i need to create will be of proper referencing and will no longer have concerns in denying of article. Thanks in advance. Will be very grateful. — Hbunnylife (talk) 10:33, 9 January 2018 (UTC)
Hi RHaworth, I am grateful to you for that. But i would request you to kindly allow me to edit the article and undelete it. I have already mentioned in my user that how am i connected to the person. I am gonna provide whatever detail, it will be with validated references. And will mention the resources accordingly. Will try to work on the article in the criteria of Wikipedia. And, sir i need to tell that i am not writing about the person to promote him. I just want make a article in which i do mention his work and how he made it to the position with all available references. So please i will request you to undelete it and give me a chance to improve the article. — Hbunnylife (talk) 14:58, 9 January 2018 (UTC)
- Hbunnylife, try not to be so long-winded. If you really can create a proper article, do so at draft:Dennis Nagpal (2). — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 15:23, 9 January 2018 (UTC)
Pa Sulay Njie
Hello sir, I sent an email to your support team and they directed me here. In the past I created an article in draft called Pa Sulay Njie which was letter accepted but I found few days back you removed the page as G3 Pure vandalism and blatant hoaxes which is totally incorrect. The information in page was fully supported by sources from renown websites. The player has played for Gambian national team under 17 and under 20, played for Worchester city FC and also played for some other clubs. I have included some links in this email supporting his career so would like to request you please have a look at the page and fresh link below and restore the article. You can also search on Google. The article was an enhanced version of the subsection on the Vice Media article. Had more information - specifically details and more references. There are plenty of sub-sections to the Vice Media article that got their own articles via initiating exactly this method. I thought it deserved its own article. Any chance of restoring it? — Reaper7 (talk) 17:37, 9 January 2018 (UTC)
- It was not worth putting in a separate article so I have put your text into the main article. Also I am not sure whether "scandal" violates Wikipedia's neutral language rules. The media today report what they are calling the "Catherine Deneuve letter". Certainly some of the accusations levelled at the Vice Media executives sound like exactly the things that Deneuve and the other 99 are complaining about. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 23:52, 10 January 2018 (UTC)
- You don't think it it is worth putting in a separate article - however I think it is worth an article - especially as the story continues to evolve streaming into many new categories and parameters. You state that the use of the word scandal could violate wiki's neutrality language rules. I think it is past the stage of trying to lace with ambiguity what has happened by concentrating on the word 'scandal.' There have already been payouts and suspensions at the very top of Vice media. I mean CNBC put the word scandal in their headline [1] and CNN and Business Insider described it as a scandal in their respective articles too [2][3] to name but a few but I found in a 10 second google search, you could have solved that one if you had looked but I know passions can run high on a frshly deleted article. There may be an inadvertent neutrality issue on your side however. The "Catherine Deneuve letter" and the other 99 French women who signed it is an opinion on what has happened in general, could have happened and what may be happening. Whether an article should stay or not based on that opinion and its implications is beyond partisan. We simply need to report what has happened and again - the accusations have already resulted in pay outs over $100,000 by VICE Media. To what point the money was deserved or the severity crimes against the women was well represented is not for me or any other wikpedian to debate in the confines of the topic surely. Clearly you feel by what you have posted many of these women who worked for Vice may have exaggerated claims as the backlash against the Deneuve letter boils over - but is wiki anyplace to air that view? I am happy to link the article to the Me Too (hashtag) article. I mean by a fire sipping sherry - I am happy to debate the ethical sexual harassment consequences - for both men and women - and what should indeed be classed as sexual harassment but surely that is just for a debate outside wiki at this point and in the future. I am even curious to whether you think those 99 women in France who signed the letter did so themselves in a #MeToo frenzy! We could even debate what oil I rub into my beard twice a weak to make it more subtle. I joke of course to keep this good natured. However please could you reconsider the article's worth and potential and dare I say - even help me build the article from the ground up - a lot of your work is very impressive. I have noted the work you have a done on wiki and having read for some of the archives - I can clearly see how much dedication you have kindly lent to the project. Please reconsider - or at least give the article some breathing time to evolve. If you feel after a period the article is superfluous after that period, I am happy to concede. Thanks for your attention, Reaper7 (talk) 01:54, 11 January 2018 (UTC)

Alcohol Concern
Hi Roger, I'm planning to write an article on Alcohol Concern (https://www.alcoholconcern.org.uk/) which is "the national agency on alcohol misuse for England and Wales" (source) and the org behind Dry January. I saw you speedy-deleted an article on it in September so I just wanted to check before starting if there's anything I should know about why that was. Was it just that the article was too empty to stay, or something I should take into account? Thanks! Mortee (talk) 22:02, 9 January 2018 (UTC)
- They were both very short stubs. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 23:52, 10 January 2018 (UTC)
- Grand, thanks for confirming. I've written the article now. Hopefully it's an improvement. Mortee (talk) 00:26, 11 January 2018 (UTC)

About my articles
Hi, How are you? (Hussain Alakraf) Bahraini singer and songwriter. I added more than six sources What is the purpose of deleting the article??? Also Salwan Al Nasri, Ahmed AlSaadi, Jafar al-Kashmi & Nazar AlQatari. No need to delete such articles!.Can I request a return of the articles or is this a final decision? -- Regards -- IamIRAQI (talk) 23:43, 9 January 2018 (UTC)
- The decision is certainly not final. Work on one person at a time. Create a well-referenced article and preferably do so via AfC. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 23:52, 10 January 2018 (UTC)
I wanted to discuss why Gable's page was deleted. I understand it was flagged for deletion due to being deemed promotional; however, Gable has been an influential person in the US government and private sector. I think she deserves to have a page. If there are edits you recommend to her page, I would gladly take them and make the edits. The page has been deleted making it impossible to do so at this point though. If you can provide a draft, I will work on it. Thanks! Beckylynn1219 (talk) 21:08, 10 January 2018 (UTC)
- Please read this. Re-create in draft space, submit it for review and wait for someone else to make it live. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 23:52, 10 January 2018 (UTC)

Deletion of Æther Realm band page
Æther Realm page was deleted due to: "does not credibly indicate the importance or significance".
I had provided links to sources that demonstrate (a) the band had professionally produced 2 full-length albums, (b) the 2nd of which was voted album of the year by multiple members of an esteemed arbiter of the genre.
I also stated that the band had been on a real global tour with a band considered important/significant, whom I linked to, and that they had headlined a music festival (were well-known enough to do so).
I believe this covers both "credibility" and "significance" required by Wikipedia:Credible_claim_of_significance. Other suggestions appreciated. -Galtenberg (talk)
