NPOVN discussion notice

Muboshgu, based on your recent edit here [1] I thought you may be interested in my question at NPOVN [2]. Thanks. Springee (talk) 14:53, 20 January 2022 (UTC)

Springee, I'll take a look. That edit was more about the language so-called and illegally rather than the farm bill vote. – Muboshgu (talk) 16:04, 20 January 2022 (UTC)

my edit

stop reverting my edit, yall love to see kanye suffer.

always trying to paint him in the worst light possible. i made that picture so people could see that it everything about kanye isn’t always a tmz misinformation campaign.

why would you rather have an edit about slamming his lyrics rather than an edit explaining what the lyric was instead of being rude and calling it “nonsensical”

also again, trying to paint him in a bad light. trump wasn’t a good president at all. so why make it seem like he never went back on his word after supporting a bad dude? setting kanye up for failure time and time again.

put my shit back or i’ll do it myself Nickiandyeoutsold (talk) 00:38, 21 January 2022 (UTC)

Nickiandyeoutsold, you used a copyrighted photo. We can't do that. See Wikipedia:Copyrights. Trump and "suffering" has nothing to do with this. – Muboshgu (talk) 00:39, 21 January 2022 (UTC)

clearly it does, as my edit was removed for “not being constructive” Nickiandyeoutsold (talk) 00:44, 21 January 2022 (UTC)

Accidental duplication of content

The content that I duplication in the Rand Paul article was an accident and I did not know I duplicated anything until I looked back at the edit I made. X-Editor (talk) 06:39, 21 January 2022 (UTC)

X-Editor, yeah this is duplication of the infobox thing a problem I've noticed with a few edits from different editors on different pages. I'm taking that issue to WP:VPT. I didn't even notice the valid content you added. – Muboshgu (talk) 16:26, 21 January 2022 (UTC)
See WP:VPT#Templatestyles edits – Muboshgu (talk) 16:33, 21 January 2022 (UTC)

X-Editor, I knew it wasn't intentional. My edit summary was because I thought your account might have been compromised, but I've since learned it's a bug. – Muboshgu (talk) 21:29, 21 January 2022 (UTC)
@Muboshgu: My account is just fine. Glad you knew from the beginning that it wasn't intentional. X-Editor (talk) 21:42, 21 January 2022 (UTC)

Hi, Muboshgu. Hope this note finds you well. Regarding the above linked redirect, which you created a good while ago, it seems to me to have stemmed from an erroneous reference to a "Lefty Grove Award" on the Ed Cheff article when I believe the Lefty Gomez Award was meant to be referenced instead, per [3]. I've updated the Cheff article accordingly. I considered RFD'ing the redirect in addition since I know of no "Lefty Grove Award" (at least not from ABCA) and suspect the redirect may have been created based upon the inadvertently incorrect reference to Grove, but wanted to stop by as a courtesy instead, as your baseball chops seem pretty credible. Is there a correct reference to a Lefty Grove Award that you know of and that I am missing (which is certainly not outside the realm of possibility)? If not, and if there is no utility to this now-orphaned redirect, it might be most efficient just to G7 it. But I obviously leave that call to you as its creator. Thanks. Tyrol5 [talk] 02:37, 21 January 2022 (UTC)

Tyrol5, hi. I created Ed Cheff in September 2012, and appears that I created that redirect to "Lefty Grove Award" at the same time. I can't find an archived version of the source I used back then, but I bet it said "Lefty Grove Award" and I wasn't savvy enough to put two and two together and realize they meant Lefty Gomez. Now that it's fixed in the article, the only two options I have are direct the Lefty Grove Award redirect to where Lefty Gomez Award redirects and slap a {{R from incorrect name}} on it, or G7. And I'm going to go with the G7. Thanks for correcting the article and bringing this to my attention. That's a great catch. – Muboshgu (talk) 03:30, 21 January 2022 (UTC)
Concur on analysis and approach. Thanks, and keep up the superb content work, baseball and otherwise. Tyrol5 [talk] 22:29, 21 January 2022 (UTC)

Patty Kuderer

Hi Muboshgu

I edited Patty Kuderer's page, because she does have these scandals. She is a local politician in Washington state, and these citations are neutral in nature. They simply lay out the complaints lodged against her, documented lies she's told, and shown laws she's broken. The purpose of these edits was to make voters aware of the issues against her, so they can make informed decisions when they vote. Patty has been trying very hard to suppress this information, as she's up for re-election this year, and has frequently tried dirty tricks to employ that hiding. If you could revert my changes, I'd greatly appreciate it. Have a good day! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2603:3004:702:4F80:0:0:0:1430 (talk) 17:06, 25 January 2022 (UTC)

This edit has many problems and will not be restored. It is not neutral to allege that she has lied and broken laws as you do. This is a WP:BLP and BLPs are written conservatively. Mere complaints being leveled against her are not nearly as significant as you think, unless she's confirmed to have broken campaign finance laws or what have you. Please read WP:NPOV and WP:RS. In no way does mom-at-arms.com appear to be a reliable source. – Muboshgu (talk) 17:58, 25 January 2022 (UTC)

Cannot use Talk: Project Veritas

Dear Muboshgu,

You responded to my request to unprotect the Project Veritas article. You responded with: "So discuss it at Talk: Project Veritas". This was precisely my intention, not to go edit the page "all willy nilly". As you have probably guessed, I'm a newly registered user of Wikipedia, so correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems that 'Talk: Project Veritas' itself is protected from new questions (yes I've read the FAQ). Is this correct? If so, do you know why it is protected? To prevent a stream of "internet trolls" poluting the Talk page?

In any case: I wanted to unprotect the Talk page itself. If I go to Talk: Project Veritas, and go to 'Click here to start a new topic', I get a Permission Error, stating "You do not have permission to edit this page, for the following reason: This page is currently semi-protected so that only established, registered users can edit it." Does this mean I can only add to the discussion when I'm "an established user" (4 days, 10 edits I believe)? Voiceofstem (talk) 21:56, 28 January 2022 (UTC)

Voiceofstem, I see. I was not aware that the talk page was also protected. Yes, you will become able to edit Talk:Project Veritas when your account is four days old and you have at least ten edits. If you want to discuss it sooner, you can go to WP:NPOV/N, the neutrality noticeboard, where I'm willing to bet the Project Veritas article has been discussed before. – Muboshgu (talk) 22:20, 28 January 2022 (UTC)
Muboshgu, Thank you for your response and helping a starting editor out. I appreciate it. I will look into the neutrality noticeboard. Voiceofstem (talk) 22:26, 28 January 2022 (UTC)

Mass rollback of KK's AWB edits?

I just noticed that following the ANI discussion, they resumed their indiscriminate linking behaviour (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Kitchen_Knife, see 30 January 2022 contributions).

Would you mind mass rollbacking everything done through AWB from 29 January 2022 to 30 January 2022 to undo the WP:CITEVAR damage done? Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 18:30, 30 January 2022 (UTC)

Headbomb, I don't know how to "mass rollback", hadn't heard of it until your message. That might cause unintended consequences. This edit history suggests there may be good edits that would be rolled back. – Muboshgu (talk) 19:06, 30 January 2022 (UTC)
It's a bit throwing the baby out with the bathwater, but the alternative is manually repairing CITEVAR damage on 60-something articles. It's easier to undo a rollback that shouldn't have been done. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 19:08, 30 January 2022 (UTC)
Headbomb,  Done. Hopefully I didn't break anything. – Muboshgu (talk) 19:18, 30 January 2022 (UTC)
Thanks. I'll review and restore any that were overall improvements. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 19:18, 30 January 2022 (UTC)

The Charles Elachi edits were the only one where there was something manual worth keeping. For the others, I redid the rest of the cleanup with AWB where it applied. Thanks a bunch! Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 19:32, 30 January 2022 (UTC)

Front Row Insurance Brokers article

Prove that it is a paid article. Can't do that? Didn't think so. It's not a paid article and it's not all that promotional, actually. It is an objective article. Front Row is well known in the film industry. This is a notable company. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.212.225.86 (talk) 15:22, 31 January 2022 (UTC)

I never said it was paid, I said others had concerns that it was paid. It is completely promotional and I won't undelete it. Maybe another admin will. If not, since you're so sure that it's a notable company, you should be able to write a draft from scratch that is free of promotion that a reviewer will accept. – Muboshgu (talk) 17:41, 31 January 2022 (UTC)

Clinton–Lewinsky scandal

Hi, thanks for your help at Clinton–Lewinsky scandal. However, I noticed that the protection you put in is significantly shorter than the previous protection which expired only a short time ago. The page has been a vandalism target for a long time despite multiple protections. It's an LTA target. Would you please take a look at the page's protection history and consider making the semi-protection longer? Thanks. Xerxes Christopher (talk) 00:21, 3 February 2022 (UTC)

Xerxes Christopher, thanks for pointing that out. I skimmed it too quickly and misread it as being a one day protection (Feb 1, 2022-Feb 2, 2022), and missed that the last protection was for one year. – Muboshgu (talk) 00:23, 3 February 2022 (UTC)
Xerxes Christopher, wait, brand new account right after Xerxes Charlie... are you the LTA? – Muboshgu (talk) 00:25, 3 February 2022 (UTC)
Yes, this is the same person doing the vandalism. Sro23 (talk) 00:27, 3 February 2022 (UTC)
Sro23, wow, so the LTA could've taken advantage of my error and instead told me so that I corrected it? This LTA makes no sense to me. – Muboshgu (talk) 00:28, 3 February 2022 (UTC)
My theory is the LTA purposefully vandalizes in order to push for longer and longer protection on these articles. Sort of like a good hand bad hand situation. Sro23 (talk) 00:34, 3 February 2022 (UTC)
Sro23, mind blown. – Muboshgu (talk) 00:40, 3 February 2022 (UTC)

Editor Skilgis1900

Despite multiple posts to his talk page and calls to come to WP Baseball's talk page, this editor doesn't want to respond to concerns about his minor league baseball team article editing and article creation. Freedom Convoy 2022 ITN

Per the ongoing discussion, I would ask that you pull your addition of this article pending further discussion. If not, I would ask that you provide more information on which oppose votes you classified as having no weight, and what policies this decision was based on. BilledMammal (talk) 00:51, 9 February 2022 (UTC)

BilledMammal the latter I can do. If another admin wants to pull it, they can. – Muboshgu (talk) 00:58, 9 February 2022 (UTC)
Thank you. Can you specify whose arguments you discounted? BilledMammal (talk) 01:01, 9 February 2022 (UTC)
BilledMammal, the arguments of WP:ITSLOCAL and that since it was SNOW closed last week it shouldn't be posted now, I have said this in the thread. – Muboshgu (talk) 01:45, 9 February 2022 (UTC)
Thank you; I was hoping you could clarify which users you believed relied entirely on those arguments. BilledMammal (talk) 01:47, 9 February 2022 (UTC)
See my comments at the article; while knowing which users you assessed as having no significance would be useful, as I believe most of them presented that as part of multiple arguments, I also believe that the basis on which you assessed them as having no weight was incorrect. BilledMammal (talk) 02:09, 9 February 2022 (UTC)
I do not want to name names as that is uncivil. But some opposers did say Local news, this was WP:SNOW closed on 1 February, Impact is limited to one state in one country, I thought the agreed consensus for the previous nomination of this event was clearly opposed to posting the blurb?, Parochial story, and Until they cross a line of actually harming others (eg as in Jan 6) clearly fail to note ITN guidelines to not oppose an item as only relating to one location or none at all, doesn't recognize that WP:CCC, and seems to imply that the WP:MINIMUMDEATH threshold for posting isn't met. Support votes were far more convincing. – Muboshgu (talk) 02:17, 9 February 2022 (UTC)
First, I don't believe it is uncivil, and it is important to understand which arguments were dismissed, and how many were dismissed, so we can determine whether this close was appropriate.
Second, with the exception of I thought the agreed consensus for the previous nomination of this event was clearly opposed to posting the blurb?, which is appropriate to dismiss under WP:CCC (although the short period of time since that consensus would suggest it should be given some weight), your reasons for dismissing don't appear to appropriate.
I've already addressed this was WP:SNOW closed on 1 February, pointing out that it was not based entirely on a previous consensus but on the editors assessment that the significance of the event had not changed. Regarding Local news, Parochial story, etc, I believe your close was in error. As I said previously, WP:ITSLOCAL relates to notability, not ITN significance, and oppose an item because the event is only relating to a single country discusses countries, while the opposes based on it being local news were due to it only being significant to a single city. Further, the "please do not" section is an information page, not a policy or guideline, so it is inappropriate to assess the weight of !votes on the basis of it, as it would be inappropriate to assess them based on an essay. WP:DETCON: Consensus is ascertained by the quality of the arguments given on the various sides of an issue, as viewed through the lens of Wikipedia policy. Vandal harassment

Hey Muboshgu! I was wondering where I can report a vandal for harassment? This IP vandal reverted my edit and wrote "(Redacted)" on both Adam West's edit summary and my talk page. I deleted his comment on my talk page but keeps writing on it with the same thing. This user has also been engaging in an edit war in two wiki articles (Jean Paul Belmondo and Adam West). --TDKR Chicago 101 (talk) 03:47, 10 February 2022 (UTC)

It's because he changes to a younger black and white photo of the subject instead of the more recent colored one on the infobox. 121.122.73.32 (talk) 03:52, 10 February 2022 (UTC)

Well, IP, it doesn't matter what another editor does. You don't use edit summaries like that. I'm glad to see that the IP has been blocked. Pinging an admin is a good way to go. If you're asking which board is best, I'd guess WP:AN/I or WP:AIV, TDKR Chicago 101. – Muboshgu (talk) 04:10, 10 February 2022 (UTC)
@TDKR Chicago 101: I used WP:REVDEL on those two edit summaries. Do you want me to redact it from your initial post too or is it okay with you to leave it? – Muboshgu (talk) 04:13, 10 February 2022 (UTC)
TDKR Chicago 101 I'm sorry you repeated it then, we would've found those edit summaries without the exact wording. – Muboshgu (talk) 04:17, 10 February 2022 (UTC)

Request for clarification

Hi, I am reaching out to request your clarification. You reverted my edit on the page Marie Yovanovitch, where I updated the fact that she has been the latest Senate-confirmed US ambasssador to Ukraine. I don't quite understand why you would call my edit "wrong information?" Every succeeding US representative to Ukraine has been on an acting capacity. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bobhowards (talkcontribs) 02:44, 13 February 2022 (UTC)

@Bobhwards: I see. I read it as you adding that she was confirmed in February 2022. It was not a deliberate factual error, but it was an unclear edit. – Muboshgu (talk) 02:52, 13 February 2022 (UTC)

Wikipage question

Before I get into what I want to ask you, does this page (WP:CRYSTAL) apply to sports league standings and waiting for the games to go final before adding wins and losses to the teams involved? Thanks. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 18:51, 14 February 2022 (UTC)

GoWarriors151718, it does apply to anything that isn't verified, so yes. I believe I nominated the Super Bowl for ITN in its waning seconds, technically before the clock hit 00:00, but only after the result was beyond a doubt, as an example from the last 12 hours. – Muboshgu (talk) 18:55, 14 February 2022 (UTC)
Thanks for the clarification. Now that I understand it better, there is a user who edits this template (Template:2021–22 Pac-12 Conference men's basketball standings) but unlike you, they update records even if the game in question has a decent amount of time left in the 2nd half (5+ min). Anyway, I was wondering (hopefully without using my username) if you could just mention that this wikipage that I brought up earlier is a thing that exists or something. Their username is Smitty Smitty. Thanks. I appreciate your help on this matter. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 19:09, 14 February 2022 (UTC)

Trump wiretapping

Leaving the statement that it is a false claim as of 2020 is not “Unbiased”. The Wiretapping claim needs to be updated to reflect the current news report regarding the Official Documents by Durham. 72.238.16.124 (talk) 19:48, 15 February 2022 (UTC)

The wiretapping claim is still bunk. Nothing in Durham's Friday filing confirms what Trump alleged. – Muboshgu (talk) 19:51, 15 February 2022 (UTC)

WP:AFC Helper News

Hello! I wanted to drop a quick note for all of our AFC participants; nothing huge and fancy like a newsletter, but a few points of interest.

  • AFCH will now show live previews of the comment to be left on a decline.
  • The template {{db-afc-move}} has been created - this template is similar to {{db-move}} when there is a redirect in the way of an acceptance, but specifically tells the patrolling admin to let you (the draft reviewer) take care of the actual move.

Short and sweet, but there's always more to discuss at WT:AFC. Stop on by, maybe review a draft on the way? Whether you're one of our top reviewers, or haven't reviewed in a while, I want to thank you for helping out in the past and in the future. Cheers, Primefac, via MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 16:00, 16 February 2022 (UTC)

Your recent AWB run to remove bold markup

Hi! Your recent AWB run to remove a whole lot of bold markup ("per MOS:BOLDAVOID") seems to have done quite a bit of damage. It removed the bold from any links, including where that bold should be there. For example at 2021 Canadian Olympic Curling Trials, where it caused a lot of missing end tags, or at 2021 Korean Mixed Doubles Curling Championship, where it un-bolded the winners in the knockout bracket. Could you go through your edits and revert those that are faulty? Thanks! --rchard2scout (talk) 13:06, 17 February 2022 (UTC)

@Rchard2scout: my apologies for those errors. I'll go through the edits now and correct what needs correcting. – Muboshgu (talk) 15:58, 17 February 2022 (UTC)

Why?

Why is the edit to Isra Hirsi suddenly a problem? I had it up for 3 days - it was until I suddenly wrote that body paragraph that triggered you. The same thing applies to former Virginia state delegate Lee Carter. He called himself a communist on Twitter, and it's up on Wikipedia with no problem/ It's verifiable - and there's no denying that she's called herself a communist.

You say you like to spread the truth in your Wikipedia account, but it's clear that you like to hide the truth when it helps the left. Or are you going to edit Carter's page too and hide the facts?

Any explanations Muboshgu? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:589:4B00:1260:59D9:5407:C1C4:F9E5 (talk) 02:32, 23 February 2022 (UTC)

Hi - hope you are well. Thanks for the recognition tag and the updates to his bio, despite the sad news. Take care. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 08:24, 23 February 2022 (UTC)

Did you read that thing? It was an adolescent gusher of a piece of original research, saying "these two guys are just like each other and nobody knows who they are". The very topic itself is non-encyclopedic, the content is pretty much WP:OR, and there is nothing to salvage for anything we do here. I apologize in advance if you feel I stepped on your toes, of course. --Orange Mike | Talk 21:49, 23 February 2022 (UTC)

Orangemike, I had not read it, just noticed the G13 and no prior undeletions. I should have looked at the draft. I agree that it was complete cruft and should've been speedy deleted on something other than G13. – Muboshgu (talk) 21:52, 23 February 2022 (UTC)
In an effort to be helpful and a spirit of AGF and not biting the noobs, I fear that a lot of junk which should have been left in the dustbin of history is instead restored at REFUND without being examined. --Orange Mike | Talk 22:19, 23 February 2022 (UTC)
Orangemike, that does happen. I do try to examine each draft before deciding to undelete or not, but that one slipped past me. It's a good reminder to be careful. – Muboshgu (talk) 00:02, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
When I have time, I try to go through the list of upcoming G13 expiring drafts and delete the most promotional ones as G11s, I'd say half of the drafts that are abandoned and deleted through CSD G13 are autobiographies or other promotional content that doesn't warrant restoration. But I'm kind of a bureaucrat at heart and if an editor has a valid request to restore a G13, it has to be exceptionally bad for me not to honor the request, especially because that's what the editor has been told we do at WP:REFUND, restore their abandoned draft pages that have been deleted as CSD G13s. I looked at this draft when I saw it on the Deletion Log and, yes, it was pretty bad. Liz Read! Talk! 00:36, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
I've never felt that AGF should be a suicide pact.--Orange Mike | Talk 01:20, 24 February 2022 (UTC)

AfCs and pledges

On Draft:Mac Lane coherence theorem, Draft:Frobenius formula, Draft:Automorphism of a Lie algebra, and Draft:Matrix factorizations (algebra), your (templated) response does not fit, as these drafts were not AfC submissions, nor did the requester make a pledge during the previous undeletion. Even in one of the current requests where he says I don't know what this article is about (and can't find out what it is about), asking for actionable items borders on WP:BURO. Jay (talk) 04:55, 24 February 2022 (UTC)

Jay, I suppose I've misread the purpose of that response? I saw that these were drafts that were undeleted and then not worked on. To reduce cruft from that page, like in the above section when I undeleted a bad draft, I've seen others and have started myself asking them if they are going to work on the article, because it seems like a lot of them want the content up as a pseudoarticle with no plan to do anything with it. – Muboshgu (talk) 05:03, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
I have attempted to clarify the doc here. Jay (talk) 11:20, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
Jay, thanks, that helps. I'll only use it in cases where it was an AfC submission that was previously undeleted and not worked on. – Muboshgu (talk) 17:22, 24 February 2022 (UTC)

WikiCup 2022 March newsletter

And so ends the first round of the WikiCup. Last year anyone who scored more than zero points moved on to Round 2, but this was not the case this year, and a score of 13 or more was required to proceed. The top scorers in Round 1 were:

  • New York (state) Epicgenius, a finalist last year, who led the field with 1906 points, gained from 32 GAs and 19 DYKs, all on the topic of New York buildings.
  • Christmas Island AryKun, new to the contest, was second with 1588 points, having achieved 2 FAs, 11 GAs and various other submissions, mostly on the subject of birds.
  • Kingdom of Scotland Bloom6132, a WikiCup veteran, was in third place with 682 points, garnered from 51 In the news items and several DYKs.
  • Philadelphia GhostRiver was close behind with 679 points, gained from achieving 12 GAs, mostly on ice hockey players, and 35 GARs.
  • United Nations Kavyansh.Singh was in fifth place with 551 points, with an FA, a FL, and many reviews.
  • SounderBruce was next with 454 points, gained from an FA and various other submissions, mostly on United States highways.
  • United Nations Ktin, another WikiCup veteran, was in seventh place with 412 points, mostly gained from In the news items.

These contestants, like all the others who qualified for Round 2, now have to start scoring points again from scratch. Between them, contestants completed reviews of a large number of good articles as the contest ran concurrently with a GAN backlog drive. Well done all! To qualify for Round 3, contestants will need to finish Round 2 among the top thirty-two participants.

Remember that any content promoted after the end of Round 1 but before the start of Round 2 can be claimed in Round 2. Anything that should have been claimed for in Round 1 is no longer eligible for points. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed.

Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! Why do you purposely lie to fit your agenda?

You are falsely attributing something as a fact when the definition of impeachment is a formal accusation. You should remove yourself from Wikipedia for being such lying piece of shít. Either you are lying or you are a complete idiot. One of the two. 137.119.70.186 (talk) 01:17, 23 March 2022 (UTC)

I sure do love my fan mail. Here's some reading material to get you up to speed on how Rudy Giuliani and others conspired to smear Yovanovitch and get her removed from her position of ambassador to Ukraine.[4][5][6][7] Looking forward to talking to you about what you learn from these sources! – Muboshgu (talk) 01:26, 23 March 2022 (UTC)

I never said there wasn't a smear campaign... I said she made allegations when I put alleged and allegedly when I was referring to what she said in Congress about her opinion on the sitution which were allegations that weren't proven as fact. I never disputed the Smear Campaign. Lol Steezymac23 (talk) 01:39, 23 March 2022 (UTC)

Go read the dictionary I feel you don't know what the words you use actually mean. As evidenced by you saying it was proven fact because he was impeached. Do you know what impeached means? Cause it doesn't mean that it was proven. Steezymac23 (talk) 01:41, 23 March 2022 (UTC)

The facts are clear. There is no "alleged" to what Trump and his people tried to do with Ukraine. They put Ukraine in a weaker position, enabling the current invasion. These are facts, as uncomfortable as they appear to be for you. – Muboshgu (talk) 01:45, 23 March 2022 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Royce Clayton

The article Royce Clayton you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Royce Clayton for comments about the article. Well done! If the article has not already appeared on the main page as a "Did you know" item, or as a bold link under "In the News" or in the "On This Day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear in DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On This Day" column do not affect DYK eligibility. Russell Wilson

Sorry, I think that my Russell Wilson edit was good. It specifically said "reports arose", not that he was traded to the Broncos. SteelerFan1933 (talk) 01:35, 9 March 2022 (UTC)

SteelerFan1933, the article doesn't include the reports about the trade to the Bears, correct? – Muboshgu (talk) 02:34, 9 March 2022 (UTC)
Correct. That said, I want to give a quick thank you for being such a good Wikipedian. SteelerFan1933 (talk) 20:49, 9 March 2022 (UTC)
Of course I know your edit was in good faith btw, no need to worry about that part. – Muboshgu (talk) 02:34, 9 March 2022 (UTC)
But I thought the bears trade surfaced With the addition that the Seahawks declined. What's more, we do not know much about the offered trade. SteelerFan1933 (talk) 20:42, 9 March 2022 (UTC)

MLB lockout

Is it safe to proceed with updating team pages for the 2022 season? For example, updating schedules to reflect that April 7/8 is the first game and things like that. Thanks. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 01:07, 11 March 2022 (UTC)

I'd say so, since the owners and MLBPA have ratified the CBA. A steady stream of free agent signing reports that are premature are coming. – Muboshgu (talk) 01:09, 11 March 2022 (UTC)
Okay. Sounds good. And thanks for the warning about incoming premature reports. I appreciate your solid work and dedication to the MLB pages on Wikipedia. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 01:23, 11 March 2022 (UTC)

Something else for you

Hey, last line of this section uses a direct source from NATO back from 2019. You should revert it and call the guy out for WP:OR and WP:SYNTH. Fephisto (talk) 14:41, 12 March 2022 (UTC)

Fephisto, When asked if their country should defend a fellow NATO ally against a potential attack from Russia, a median of 50% across 16 NATO member states say their country should not defend an ally, compared with 38% who say their country should defend an ally against a Russian attack. It's Pew Research, not NATO for one. It isn't OR/SYNTH, because it's directly supported by the source, though that line could use some copy editing. – Muboshgu (talk) 17:34, 12 March 2022 (UTC)

Hey Muboshgu.

Cameron Gibbens here. Australian professional pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers organisation. I came across your page and found you create pages for a few friends of mine (Baseball Athletes ,Jon Kennedy, Daniel Mcgrath). I would love for you to create my page on Wikipedia.

Could you please do this for me? Is there any process I need to go through.

My email is [email protected]

Let me know.

Thank you in advance.

Cameron Gibbens. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.252.218.98 (talk) 20:52, 13 March 2022 (UTC)

Hi Cameron. In the cases of Jon Kennedy (baseball) and Daniel McGrath, they met our notability guidelines because they played for the Australian national baseball team. Have you? Are there reliable sources of your career that would demonstrate notability? – Muboshgu (talk) 21:18, 13 March 2022 (UTC)
Hey Muboshgu. Thanks for the response. In my case there are a few sources that can be considered notable. for example: Minor League Profile Page, Tulsa Drillers Roster, Baseball Reference and a variety of other news publications. will that suffice? 24.252.218.98 (talk) 23:25, 13 March 2022 (UTC)
Also a few links to wikipedia pages i am referenced in
Los Angeles Dodgers Minor League Players

I am sorry but those alone are pages that every minor league player is mentioned in. I hope you have a great season. – Muboshgu (talk) 18:39, 14 March 2022 (UTC)

Protection of NSPORT

Hi Muboshgu

The question has already been worked out on talk in an RFC; there is a consensus for those changes. Some editors disagree with those changes, but that doesn't allow them to reject their implementation. BilledMammal (talk) 22:37, 9 March 2022 (UTC)

There's an edit war. I stopped it. That's all for my involvement with that RfC and its implementation. – Muboshgu (talk) 22:41, 9 March 2022 (UTC)
There is an effort by editors opposed to the consensus to prevent its implementation. As such, I don't believe you can implement page protection and wipe your hand of the matter, as there is a consensus that indisputably needs to be implemented. I note that both Levivich and I have directed comments towards you at the talk page of NSPORT; I believe it would be beneficial to respond to those comments and provide additional guidance in the context of your page protection. BilledMammal (talk) 22:58, 9 March 2022 (UTC)
I absolutely can. If there are issues with implementation, those need to be resolved. I am not versed enough in this issue to dive into it and I don't have the time to either. – Muboshgu (talk) 23:56, 9 March 2022 (UTC)
There are no issues with implementation; the consensus is clear that all criteria based solely on participation need to be removed. There are no editors who disagree with what constitutes participation (with the exception of managers, coaches etc, which was being discussed on the talk page and was unrelated to the edit war you saw), but there are editors who disagree with that consensus, and that is where the issue is coming from. I understand that you don't have time to become involved in this, but in that case I would ask that you lift your protection and allow another admin, with sufficient time to look into the situation, to reimplement if they believe that would be appropriate. BilledMammal (talk) 00:02, 10 March 2022 (UTC)
I don't think 3 days is long enough! I'm willing to reimpose protection if the edit warring resumes on March 12th. The two sides are just too entrenched to be satisfied with gradual changes. Liz Read! Talk! 01:18, 10 March 2022 (UTC)
Liz, as an uninvolved admin with hopefully more time available, could you take a look at the situation and provide some guidance on how to implement the consensus? BilledMammal (talk) 01:21, 10 March 2022 (UTC)

Please partially block edit-warring editors instead of fully-protecting the page. The rest of us would like to do some work. Thanks, Levivich 21:59, 14 March 2022 (UTC)

Levivich, I haven't checked in there recently. What work is agreed upon? – Muboshgu (talk) 22:05, 14 March 2022 (UTC)
(Thanks for the quick response!) Actually, all of the recent edits are "agreed-upon":
The changes made today are different from the changes that were made last time around, the difference being that the changes made today only changed the things that were undisputed (i.e., not being reviewed at AN) and/or that were agreed-upon in recent discussions during the recent page protection (changing "presumed to be notable" to "significant coverage is likely to exist" per subproposal #8, which is not under review, and was confirmed at WT:NSPORTS#Protected edit request on 9 March 2022 (the first one).
I may have missed some aspect of today's changes that do not have consensus, but I posit that editors have made progress over the weekend during the initial round of full protection, and we are now at the point where we can implement some changes, which are not controversial, while holding off on implementing other changes that are still being discussed. We've narrowed the points of disagreement, and further editing will help us narrow the remaining points of disagreement. At this point, I think full protection is counterproductive, and instead what needs to happen is the more targeted exemption of those editors who are editing against, rather than towards, consensus. (NB: one such editor has already been p-blocked, a second has been warned.)
I get the whole protection-v-blocking balance, but I think today, the scales weigh towards blocking. Levivich 22:12, 14 March 2022 (UTC)
Levivich, unfortunately I will have to delay response because of IRL commitments but I'll be back to this later today. – Muboshgu (talk) 22:59, 14 March 2022 (UTC)
Please don't rush back on my account. I left the above message before I saw Wug's pblock and message below. I appreciate you taking the time to engage with me on this. I'm sure you and Wug can figure it out without me, and I think I'd better bow out of this part to simplify things. Thanks again for the prompt response and considering my point of view. Levivich 23:15, 14 March 2022 (UTC)

NSPORTS

Hi Muboshgu, I just saw your protection at WP:NSPORTS and wanted to get on the same page (cc Liz). I warned both Avilich and Nfitz about edit warring. About 15 minutes after I warned them, and simultaneous with acknowledging the warning. Nfitz reverted again. I p-blocked as a clear violation of edit warring, but it seems moot now given the protection. How should we move forward here? Wug·a·po·des 22:11, 14 March 2022 (UTC)

Wugapodes Levivich is also making the case above for p-blocks. I could see doing that instead. I have to be busy IRL for a little bit now, so if you want to lower protection that's fine by me. – Muboshgu (talk) 23:00, 14 March 2022 (UTC)
No worries, I also had meatspace stuff to finish up. I think the protection is fine for now, though I guess I'm wondering how we unwind this. My concern in lifting protection right now is that someone's next edit is going to be a revert, so I'd prefer the most recent edit request be resolved first. As for the block, I'm going to leave it be for now in case the page does get unprotected. Wug·a·po·des 02:49, 15 March 2022 (UTC)

Mobushgu, was this edit made on the correct page? I'm a bit confused because you've responded to an edit request with a comment about unprotecting and p-blocks which is not what's being requested there. I don't expect you to be the one to restore the pre-edit-warring version but I was surprised to see you actively oppose it. –dlthewave 02:32, 15 March 2022 (UTC)

Dlthewave, I thought I had protected the pre-edit warring version and do not know what the differences are between the two versions, as I hadn't looked. – Muboshgu (talk) 03:18, 15 March 2022 (UTC)
See this diff. The version that was essentially stable since the 12 March included the language of subproposal #8 ("Significant coverage is likely to exist"), and you must have inadvertently protected the version edit-warred by Nfitz which uses "presumed notable". All we're asking is that the version before today's edit warring be restored, as described in the edit request at NSPORTS. I think this is why you're getting so much push-back. –dlthewave 03:32, 15 March 2022 (UTC)
Surely the version previously frozen was the stable version, from when the review started and it was frozen. Surely we should always go the status quo. Though I don't know why NSPORTS wasn't originally frozen to the pre-RFC state ... Nfitz (talk) 05:55, 15 March 2022 (UTC)

After thinking about this, I shouldn’t have said anything. This was my mistake and let’s just move on from this. If that person has a bone to pick with me now, I’ll deal with it but I didn’t act in the way that I should have. I made a mistake. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 16:37, 22 March 2022 (UTC)
Sorry for lurking. It's Madness. In March it's very hard not to lean on the "enter" key even when we're normally quite reasonable. Last night I was shouting at the TV myself. GoWarriors151718, give yourself (and others) some slack. And thanks for all the hard work this year on those bracket-related articles. BusterD (talk) 16:42, 22 March 2022 (UTC)
BusterD, sheesh, lurking is only allowed when you deploy the (talk page stalker) notice! I agree that everyone should just take a breath and remember that this is just a game. But also remember what the yogi said, it ain't over 'til it's over. – Muboshgu (talk) 16:58, 22 March 2022 (UTC)
It's not over until Nika Mühl says so. She's my new hero. BusterD (talk) 17:35, 22 March 2022 (UTC)
@BusterD: Thanks for the kind words. I appreciate it. I have taken my deep breath and I am deciding that I am going to move on from this and hopefully the other person will to without much fuss. And I like that quote that you used Muboshgu. You never know how these games will end. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 17:06, 22 March 2022 (UTC)

Biden Ukraine page sanctions

The sanctions at that page are not being enforced correctly or fairly. How can we remedy that? As it stands now the experienced editors are receiving warnings and the inexperienced editors are being blocked. Isn't this backwards from how it should be? Mr Ernie (talk) 20:17, 28 March 2022 (UTC)

Mr Ernie, good question. Who is the admin who put the sanctions on the page? We can bring violations to them. – Muboshgu (talk) 20:30, 28 March 2022 (UTC)
Found it at Wikipedia:Arbitration enforcement log. It was ST47, who I won't bother with a ping. Could check in with them, or really any uninvolved admin. – Muboshgu (talk) 20:35, 28 March 2022 (UTC)
The solution is simply to remove the 1RR restriction. Then the non-consensus edits can be reverted and we won't run short of editors with a revert to spare. The reason experienced editors are warned is because they are removing bad edits when an inexperiened editor makes a non-consensus addition. SPECIFICO talk 22:58, 28 March 2022 (UTC)
SPECIFICO, I don't know that that's the best solution, but that would also require an uninvolved admin. – Muboshgu (talk) 23:44, 28 March 2022 (UTC)

You Tube

Hi Muboshgu! I see you reverted the edition I made to the Will Smith page and I dont have a problem with that at all, because after I wrote about the incident, I noticed that it was already written about in another area of the page. One thing about you tube videos, though: sometimes they are the only source we have about an incident (for example, something that happened during a particular boxing fight) so, depending on the incident, it might be appropriate to use You Tube as a source or not (I mean, they do bare, and might actually be the only, witness sometimes to important happenings, specially on minor but important events such as a sports event)

Thanks and God bless! Antonio The Barking Dog Martin (say it to me) 23:35, March 28, 2022 (UTC)

AntonioMartin, YouTube videos are "generally unreliable" per WP:RSPYT. They work better as external links than inline citations. And in this particular case, we have a ton of articles and thinkpieces written on the event so we don't need to rely on YouTube. – Muboshgu (talk) 23:42, 28 March 2022 (UTC)
Right..like I said, I don't have a problem with your revert. God bless!Antonio The Lovely Beast Martin (say it to me) 00:00, March 29, 2022 (UTC) Antonio Martin (talk) 00:01, 29 March 2022 (UTC)

PRUMT-16

Hi Muboshgu.

Of course it is a hoax. It is an April fool's joke. Sorry that I got the timing wrong. It'll be April 1 in 30 minutes as per UTC as per the guideline.

What is the problem with it?

Regards. Eno Lirpa (talk) 23:37, 31 March 2022 (UTC)

Eno Lirpa, see Wikipedia:Rules for Fools. It says not to use talk pages, and COVID-19 is not a joking topic. – Muboshgu (talk) 23:44, 31 March 2022 (UTC)
Did you read it? It is not actually joking about COVID-19. In fact it acknowledges the seriousness of it. (The talk page posts were not jokes either.) Apart from getting the timing not quite right as far as I can see I have complied with all Rules for Fools. Eno Lirpa (talk) 23:55, 31 March 2022 (UTC)
The similarity of the terms PRUMT-16 and COVID-19 and your posting this on a COVID-19 talk page are just coincidences then.... – Muboshgu (talk) 02:53, 1 April 2022 (UTC)
No. I was making a factual statement about where people who might have an interest in geopolitics and epidemiology might find some homor on the subjects, something we all need I bit more of these days I think. The PRUMT-16 was I thought in line with the WHO's format and in that sense it would be similar to any WHO designation, but it is not a dig at COVID-19. Eno Lirpa (talk) 03:27, 1 April 2022 (UTC)
Did you read it? It literally says There is a precedent for deleting COVID-19 joke pages. – Muboshgu (talk) 03:35, 1 April 2022 (UTC)
I did, several times. The point is that the joke is not about COVID-19. See also my talk page. Regards. Eno Lirpa (talk) 03:42, 1 April 2022 (UTC)
Oh I get it. It's about COVID-19. It's also not funny. Now you're submitting it for review? At midnight, I'm deleting it again, unless someone beats me to it. – Muboshgu (talk) 16:42, 1 April 2022 (UTC)
Decided to do it myself. – Muboshgu (talk) 17:12, 1 April 2022 (UTC)
Actually it is not about COVID, but c'est la vie. Re, the SALT, rest assured I have been on and off Wikipedia for 14 years, so I know how things work. I would not have recreated it again. In line with your page deletion, can you also please revdel the section on my talk page regarding the mock interview. Regards. Eno Lirpa (talk) 23:32, 1 April 2022 (UTC)
That doesn't fall under the criteria for redaction as far as I can see. You can put what you want in your userspace that doesn't violate the CSD. – Muboshgu (talk) 00:12, 2 April 2022 (UTC)

Bobby Dalbec (Boston Red Sox)

I’ve now edited twice and been twice denied. The issue is the country of birth and early childhood history of Bobby Dalbec. A good portion of New England, and I, heard two NESN announcers discuss the facts during a spring training game this year. NESN is wholly owned by the Red Sox. I included the particulars stated, that he and his older sister were adopted in South Korea when Bobby was 5 mos. old. If I included Seoul as the City he was adopted in, I assure you it’s as correct. I’m not certain at this point. I suspect the birthdate given, and putting “Seattle” next to it is misleading. In my first attempt, I included the names of his noble parents - I’ll cite Wiki for that. Sincerely, Evan Kaler Pinto Jamestown, RI Skitstoval (talk) 23:12, 4 April 2022 (UTC)

Skitstoval, Bobby Dalbec was not born in Seoul or adopted. He was born in Seattle. Here's a story from last year about his early life, which makes no mention of adoption. There is a member of the Red Sox who was adopted from Seoul at five months of age, and has an older sister who was also adopted from South Korea: Rob Refsnyder. You must be conflating Bobby for Rob. – Muboshgu (talk) 23:25, 4 April 2022 (UTC)

Your comment about Epoch Times

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Administrators%27_noticeboard/Incidents#Epoch_Times_pov_warrior Seriously, that was exactly my point, the quotes you copied do not explicitly say that ET says Qanon is true. They say implicit things in the hope the reader would think that. They say "conspiracies related to Qanon", but it doesn't have to do with Qanon. e.g. so many news outlets today talk about Hunter Biden's international ties, is that Qanon?! This is exactly a hit piece, were you make the reader understand what you want them to, without being open to libel.

This especially blows my mind, because I had been a reader of ET for many months before I ever knew anything about Qanon, they just never talked about it, nor any other news I followed. I think the first time I ever heard about that was two years ago when I happened to come across the ET article on wikipedia. Then when I found out what it was, it's quite easy to realise it was some sort of fake news or even psy-op, in this case used as a strawman.

I appologize for the intrusion of respoding here, I believe you deserve a response if you wanted any, otherwise just delete my comment and I won't respond again. cheers, --Itaj Sherman (talk) 11:46, 7 April 2022 (UTC)

Itaj Sherman, the sources say that Epoch Times pushes QAnon. Whether they think it's "true" or not isn't relevant if they are known to push the theory. – Muboshgu (talk) 15:29, 7 April 2022 (UTC)

ITN re-closing

Hi there, I decided to keep this away from others on ITN and write it here. I really don’t agree with your comment that there was a breach of neutrality in my closing. The nominator has come up with arguments that administrators engage in vote-counting and simultaneously post a blurb along with an ongoing item for the same story, which are valid points of discussion and contradict some of our basic principles. I never get influenced by the number of oppose votes and give weight on individual opinions if possible. In this case, the nominator presented valid arguments in the wrong place and in the wrong way, so my closing statement wasn’t merely a “consensus-will-not-develop-to-post” summary but also a guide on what to do with those arguments. Best regards.--Kiril Simeonovski (talk) 10:26, 10 April 2022 (UTC)

Kiril Simeonovski, I cannot fathom why, after that discussion with comments made about it being a bad faith nomination, you would write While nominator’s argumentation is spot on and deserves attention. Best to close it neutrally and make a broader discussion on the appropriate talk page if you agree with the nominator's greater point. – Muboshgu (talk) 16:58, 10 April 2022 (UTC)

"LGBTQ heads of government"

I see that lots of people have been eagerly adding this category to everyone from mayors to state legislators to God knows what all. You have been deleting them and I agree with you. (I noticed it because the mayor of my city was one of the ones so tagged.) Is there a conversation somewhere about exactly what constitutes a "head of government", or should we start one? Maybe the eager beavers should create a new category like "LGBTQ mayors"? -- MelanieN (talk) 19:50, 12 April 2022 (UTC)

  7. England Lee Vilenski, with 545 points from 1 FA, 4 GAs and a number of reviews.

The rules for featured and good article reviews require the review to be of sufficient length; brief quick fails and very short reviews will generally not be awarded points. Remember also that DYKs cannot be claimed until they have appeared on the main page. As we enter the third round, any content promoted after the end of round 2 but before the start of round 3 can be claimed now, and anything you forgot to claim in round 2 cannot! Remember too, that you must claim your points within 14 days of "earning" them. When doing GARs, please make sure that you check that all the GA criteria are fully met.

If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article nominations, a featured process, or anything else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed (remember to remove your listing when no longer required). Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove your name from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Freddie Freeman

Hi M, could you look into semi-protecting Freddie Freeman? The article has been subject to a lot of recent edit warring against WP consensus primarily by IPs over adding his Canadian citizenship to the lead. See User talk:JDDJS#Nationality, not citizenship for further information. I'm considering adding some version of that discussion to Freddie's article talk page in a few days so there's a central place to discuss this. Also, is there an established consensus either way at WP:BASEBALL on this issue? I wouldn't doubt it's come up before in some way. Thanks. BilCat (talk) 19:09, 24 April 2022 (UTC)

BilCat, I'm not sure if we have one? If there is a consensus for his nationality, it'd probably be on his talk page, or its archives. Or, we may need to get feedback at BLP/N. – Muboshgu (talk) 19:42, 24 April 2022 (UTC)
Ok, thanks. What about the semi-protection? Is that something you want to stay out of? I can ask at RPP, but I figured I'd ask you first since sports and baseball can be "complicated". Thanks for whatever you can do. BilCat (talk) 19:46, 24 April 2022 (UTC)
Semi-protected for a week. I won't try to impose one solution over another, but I will step in to stop that. – Muboshgu (talk) 19:55, 24 April 2022 (UTC)
That's all I was asking for. Thanks. BilCat (talk) 20:12, 24 April 2022 (UTC)

Manhattan

In a recent edit about Nikola Tesla, I undid your edit, my reason was unclear, sorry I didn't provide a more detailed reason. Manhattan may be well known to Americans, but perhaps not to people in other countries, and New York City is a much better known location, so I thought it would make more sense to write about it. MoJieCPD (talk) 13:23, 25 April 2022 (UTC)

Actually, I would add Hotel New Yorker, but it would make the address too long. MoJieCPD (talk) 13:30, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
MoJieCPD, I suspect Manhattan is commonly enough known outside of the U.S., but would be curious to figure out if I'm right or wrong on that. Anyway, NYC is too general. The five boroughs are huge on their own and so different from each other. – Muboshgu (talk) 16:39, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
hhhhh, I say this because I am not American and Manhattan is not very well known in my country, but I agree with what you say. MoJieCPD (talk) 05:05, 26 April 2022 (UTC)
Fair point. – Muboshgu (talk) 14:46, 26 April 2022 (UTC)

Ways to improve José Herrera (catcher)

Hello, Muboshgu,

Thank you for creating José Herrera (catcher).

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

This article needs more references in order to provide significant coverage for this article. See WP:SIGCOV
References that have scores, lists, order of merit and video do not pass as reliable sources for WP:NSPORT. (There have been changes to the notability guide for sports - you may wish to read WP:NSPORT ) To meet notability requirements, one more reference with significant coverage are needful.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Whiteguru}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Whiteguru (talk) 06:53, 29 April 2022 (UTC)

(talk page watcher) Hmmm. Seems to me the best way to improve José Herrera would be to trade him to a team with a winning record. ;) BilCat (talk) 06:58, 29 April 2022 (UTC)

Mark Robinson Edits

Muboshgu,

You recently undid several edits that I made to the Mark Robinson page. I would like for you to rethink these.

Overall, the page is clearly against Wikipedia standards of objectivity as it currently stands. Further, my additions were certainly unbiased - including statements such as that he formed the F.A.C.T.S. task force (without even including findings that could be controversial), that he is pro gun rights, and that he is pro parental rights. All of the additions were cited as well.

Given the current bias skew, these 3-4 sentences certainly offer just a little context to the discussion without even changing the general negative view that is being portrayed. So, I'm not sure how you can continue to object.

Please reconsider - I believe that I found a more than fair compromise.

Best, Info123ABC — Preceding unsigned comment added by Info123ABC (talkcontribs) 03:50, 28 April 2022 (UTC)

@Info123ABC:, we can discuss these potential changes. WP:BLPs need to be treated well. But I had to stop an WP:Edit warring to encourage discussion. Please go to Talk:Mark Robinson and start a new talk page section to bring up the changes you want made, with the reliable sources that support them. There, the community can agree on how to make them. I agree that we can add task forces that he heads up. – Muboshgu (talk) 03:55, 28 April 2022 (UTC)
Thank you, pleasantly surprised. I will do as you've outlined as time allows. Info123ABC (talk) 22:44, 30 April 2022 (UTC)

DYK for Jumbo Brown

On 30 April 2022, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Jumbo Brown, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Jumbo Brown gained 68 pounds (31 kg) after he had his tonsils removed? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Jumbo Brown. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Jumbo Brown), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. No problem with this reversion (or really, any of the ones I just reverted). I was enforcing WP:BLOCKEVASION, but I understand that many of the edits may be viewed as productive otherwise. Thanks! Eagles 24/7 (C) 23:46, 4 May 2022 (UTC)

Eagles247, I realized that after I reverted the edit and saw. The edits I've looked at from that IP look good. I don't remember why that user got indeff'd, don't really care to go down memory lane. – Muboshgu (talk) 23:49, 4 May 2022 (UTC)
I hope they stop evading their original block and take up the standard offer, their block-evading edits have mostly addressed the issues from their block. Eagles 24/7 (C) 23:56, 4 May 2022 (UTC)
Took a look at their talk page... totally forgot that I gave them a co-nom credit on my Hard Hittin' Chris Gittens DYK. Transaction rumors... the bane of my existence in editing when the trade deadline and free agency approach. Reverting all of those edits is sadly what you had to do. If we could get them to turn away from the dark side (happy Star Wars Day) and down with proper sourcing techniques, they could be a real asset. – Muboshgu (talk) 03:10, 5 May 2022 (UTC)

Newsom fossil fuel permits

hi! re: "it's not 2024 or 2045 yet so what's the point of this?" I think it's relevant because it is important climate policy (like, a lot of carbon emissions are at stake) and also in terms of how Newsom is perceived. The policy has been a significant topic of discussion (see https://fox5sandiego.com/news/local-news/city-council-votes-to-urge-newsom-to-end-fossil-fuel-permitting/ or https://www.mercurynews.com/2021/09/24/opinion-recall-may-be-over-but-climate-crisis-is-not-a-youth-perspective/) Zaelzo (talk) 04:41, 12 May 2022 (UTC)

Zaelzo, well, I see that the second link is an opinion piece, so not a reliable source. What I see is blaming him for not phasing them out sooner when he said he'd still be issuing them until 2024, in violation of WP:NPOV. I suggest proposing it on the talk page to see if WP:CONSENSUS supports adding it. – Muboshgu (talk) 04:43, 12 May 2022 (UTC)

Too many deletions and reverts?

Hello! I am reaching out for guidance. I am doing the Central and Eastern Europe contest. I worked on the Graudenz page last night. I woke up and many things had been deleted/reverted including citations and facts that were not added by me. I re-did them manually and left a note on the person's talk page. That's when I noticed that many people on the talk page are complainig that the user has deleted their cited work.

If you search for the word "deleted", you'll see there are about 4-5 talk messages about content being deleted by Merangs.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Merangs#Really,

I'm still new to Wiki so I looked around and found the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Administrators%27_noticeboard/

I submitted a new discussion, but now I can't find it there. I also left another note on the user's wall about the submitting them to the Admin noticeboard for review. The noticeboard said to reach out to an admin if possible. This is my first time doing anything like this, so any help is apprecaited. It seems like this person is deleting cited facts and not contributing to the cooperativeness of Wikipedia. If you see, sometimes people ask why the content was deleted and they reply "I do not recall" or they do not reply at all...

Any guidance is apprecaited. Maybe I'm wrong and the deletions/reversions are correct, but I'm pretty sure they aren't. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheTypingKat (talkcontribs) 12:35, May 17, 2022 (UTC)

@TheTypingKat: I see your post at WP:ANI, specifically at WP:ANI#Grudziądz and User:Merangs. I do agree that you and Merangs should try to discuss this, either on your user talk pages or at Talk:Grudziądz. You may be able to convince them that they are mistaken, or the other way around. If you two are unable to agree, then you may need to get third parties involved. – Muboshgu (talk) 20:16, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
I left messages on Merangs page and Grudziadz page. I see a pattern of reverting articles with no explanation. I'm pretty new to Wikipedia, so I thought reporting it might be the best thing so more experienced people can reivew the user. TheTypingKat (talk) 20:05, 18 May 2022 (UTC)

Request on The Players' Tribune page

Hi Muboshgu, I'm M and I work with Minute Media. I noticed you had done a lot of work on the Derek Jeter page (which looks great!) and was wondering if you'd be interested in the request I made at The Players' Tribune page since Jeter founded it? I did my best to make sure the requests are backed by reliable sourcing and are neutral in tone, especially with the advertising tag on the article. I've tried several other editors and WikiProjects but received no responses. I won't make any changes due to my conflict of interest, so I'd really appreciate the help! M at MinuteMedia (talk) 21:22, 6 May 2022 (UTC)
