The article was proposed for deletion for seven days without objection, so I deleted it according to that process. I can undelete the article for you as a contested proposed deletion, but I must warn you that I agreed with the decision and will nominate the article for deletion after undeleting it. – Muboshgu (talk) 15:09, 7 February 2020 (UTC)

Mookie Betts is heading to the dodgers.

You really are stuck in the past. The deal is agreed upon. He will be a Los angeles Dodger. I would bet my life and my entire years salary that Mookie Betts plays for the Los Angeles Dodgers this year. I would give you every single paycheck I make this year if he doesn't play for the dodgers. That's how confident I, ESPN, THE DODGERS, AND THE BOSTON RED SOX'S ARE ABOUT THIS TRADE. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jarmusic2 (talkcontribs) 05:49, 5 February 2020 (UTC)

Jarmusic2, I'm in the present and you're in the future. This deal is likely to happen, but it hasn't happened yet. Deals like this are complicated and take time to go through. Some of them fall through. So, he's still, as of this moment, with Boston. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a newspaper. – Muboshgu (talk) 06:10, 5 February 2020 (UTC) very well. The whole world knows that Betts is heading to Los Angeles, but I guess you are right he technaclly is still a Boston Red sox, even though a deal has been made, and why can't we write that that deal has been made? it is a current event. They have a deal set in place. I would still give you every single paycheck I had this year that He will be playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Jarmusic2.. i'm butting in here... but so far it's just anonymous sources and we don't report that sort of thing.. this is an encyclopedia... we don't add trades until they are officially reported by the teams and/or players involved. I've seen plenty of reported deals fall apart over medicals... and when the deal involves players like Price and Verdugo who both have recent histories with significant injuries the likelihood is even greater. Patience. Spanneraol (talk) 15:29, 5 February 2020 (UTC)
Jarmusic2, so, now that the trade appears to be in limbo, how confident are you about betting your entire 2020 salary? Should I give you my bank account and routing number to switch over your direct deposit? Or have you learned a lesson about how the sports media often jumps the gun with their BREAKING scoops as a matter of trying to get clicks on their articles, and that "it ain't over 'till it's over"? – Muboshgu (talk) 18:29, 9 February 2020 (UTC)
Friendly stalker here. Let me offer my services as an intermediary. My Swiss Bank acct # is 123456789. Deposits are accepted 24/7. No service charge. If you are interested have your people call my peopleBuster7  19:08, 9 February 2020 (UTC)
Buster7, he made that comment on Talk:Mookie Betts too, so we may have to split it several ways. – Muboshgu (talk) 19:27, 9 February 2020 (UTC)
Looks like the money won't be coming.. oh well.. happy the Dodgers are finally getting their guy.. but wish this news wasn't breaking right as the oscars were about to start. Spanneraol (talk) 00:43, 10 February 2020 (UTC)
Spanneraol, too bad, I was thinking how nice it would be not to have to work for the rest of 2020. Don't worry Spanner, the Yankees will still beat the Dodgers in the 2020 World Series. I'll say in six games. – Muboshgu (talk) 00:48, 10 February 2020 (UTC)
Ha.. you wish. Spanneraol (talk) 00:53, 10 February 2020 (UTC)

Thank you sir

Thank you sir for removing the photo. It was probably a copyright photo, although I agree that the photo was not Subject to use, I do however feel that the caption Was appropriate given the situation. I 100% believe that Mookie Betts was and will be Traded to The Los Angeles Dodgers. Why He is Still listed as a Boston Red Sox is unbeknownst to me. He was traded over a week ago and Is still listed in his old team, where as Manuel Margot was traded Saturday night and Is now listed As a Tampa Bay Ray, to me that is some kind of "Pick and choose Edit" one player gets traded and his info will not be changed and another player gets traded and his information gets traded right away. Agan I am sorry for Using that picture, I do however stand 100% behind the caption I have made. Thank you for removing the picture, Sorry again for using a copyrighted martial.Have a good day Mr Muboshgu. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jarmusic2 (talkcontribs) 05:50, 10 February 2020 (UTC)

Jarmusic2, we've tried to explain it. The Betts trade is complicated, and the Red Sox apparently didn't like what they saw in Brusdar Graterol's medical exam. The Margot trade was much simpler. The Betts trade still requires the commissioner's approval due to the money involved. – Muboshgu (talk) 23:57, 10 February 2020 (UTC)

I have removed the {{proposed deletion/dated}} tag from Henry Hewes (politician), which you proposed for deletion. I found more sources for the article; and, as such, I believe it can be said to pass WP:GNG now. If you still think this article should be deleted, please do not add {{proposed deletion}} back to the page. Instead, feel free to list it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Thanks! Javert2113 (Siarad.|¤) 03:16, 11 February 2020 (UTC)

Javert2113, yes I know how PROD works. I'll look at it again later and decide if I think it should be taken to AfD. – Muboshgu (talk) 04:11, 11 February 2020 (UTC)

Kingboyk, thanks for that catch. I didn't notice that. – Muboshgu (talk) 23:55, 10 February 2020 (UTC)
No worries. Isn't the script supposed to make a token edit if there's no speedy deletion template to remove? --kingboyk (talk) 09:53, 11 February 2020 (UTC)
Kingboyk, it should! But, it doesn't do it every time. The script also has an error when you choose csd. It puts the deleting admin name in and leaves out the csd code. – Muboshgu (talk) 17:37, 11 February 2020 (UTC)
I'm told that actually the script doesn't make any token edit. --kingboyk (talk) 19:24, 14 February 2020 (UTC)
Kingboyk, oh. Well, then. I might have to spend more time checking each undeleted draft to make sure an edit is made before moving on. – Muboshgu (talk) 19:59, 14 February 2020 (UTC)

Jaan Nissar Lone

Dear admin User:Muboshgu, this is user:Fridaykingshere to ask you that I have created an article with the nameNisarul Bashir Lone which is the actual name of the popular celebrity Musician & singer Jaan Nissar Lone After creating it I just saw that you have protected Jaan Nissar Lone from creating as so many wiki users have re-created it again and again. Dear Admin Is there anyway out where in I can make Jaan Nissar Lones article redirect to Nisarul Bashir Lone looking forward for help.Fridaykings (talk) 17:30, 16 February 2020 (UTC)

@Yunshui, GSS, Bbb23, Fastily, and RHaworth: as the deleting admins of Draft:Jaan_Nissar_Lone, is this a continuation of CSD G5? – Muboshgu (talk) 23:02, 16 February 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for the ping. I've blocked Fridaykings as a sock and deleted his creations. I've also salted the "renamed" article.--Bbb23 (talk) 00:25, 17 February 2020 (UTC)

Justin Verlander

Hi, Mubosghu. I hope you have been doing well. I know it probably isn't fair to make this request of a Yankees fan, but there has been some vandalism at Justin Verlander over the past few days and I see that from the page history that you protected that article for a week back in January. It looks like another period of protection might be necessary. Lepricavark (talk) 00:38, 15 February 2020 (UTC)

Lepricavark, even though in real life I'm mad as hell at him (and Bregman, whose article I protected earlier today), I'll take a look and protect if needed. – Muboshgu (talk) 02:20, 15 February 2020 (UTC)
Thanks. As a diehard Detroit Tigers fan, I'm very disappointed in JV. My actual anger is reserved more for people like Jim Crane and Rob Manfred; then again, everything Manfred does angers me. Lepricavark (talk) 02:22, 15 February 2020 (UTC)
Lepricavark, great point. Rob Manfred is literally a tool of the owners (he works for them), and he's clearly acting in their best interests. Beltran and the other players are to blame, but the front offices deserve more punishment. I also protected World Series just now, and List of World Series champions earlier today. Spring training starting (and every player getting asked about the cheating) must be leading to this increase. Enjoy having Maybin back. He was a fun addition last year. – Muboshgu (talk) 02:26, 15 February 2020 (UTC)
I'm glad to have Maybin back in the fold. He brought some life to the team during his last stint, and that's something we desperately need right now. Lepricavark (talk) 02:28, 15 February 2020 (UTC)
Lepricavark, wait a minute... The Astros acquired Maybin in 2017....... – Muboshgu (talk) 04:06, 15 February 2020 (UTC)
Hmmm... I had completely forgotten about that. Lepricavark (talk) 04:08, 15 February 2020 (UTC)
Lepricavark, maybe Maybin and I are okay. Maybe.[1] – Muboshgu (talk) 02:26, 18 February 2020 (UTC)
It's certainly better than what most of them have said. Lepricavark (talk) 03:08, 18 February 2020 (UTC)
Lepricavark, it's hard to fake remorse when you don't have any. – Muboshgu (talk) 04:44, 18 February 2020 (UTC)

Larry Walker bio corrections

I am saying things are not accurate because I am Larry Walker. And nobody knows the accuracy of my bio better then me. Things that were in there were just not accurate/not true/or are no longer true. Not sure who the "reliable" source is that you say gave you the info, but he/she is was just not correct on some of them. I am going to look through the info more and see if I can find anymore inaccuracies. I will correct them too if I find any. but when I looked last week everything seemed okay. thanks Golfshirts (talk) 20:21, 18 February 2020 (UTC)LWGolfshirts (talk) 20:21, 18 February 2020 (UTC)

Golfshirts, if you are indeed Larry Walker, then congratulations on your well deserved election to Cooperstown. Of course, I can't be sure that you really are who you say you are. Either way, I do care about the page being accurate. Wikipedia has a policy of "verifiability, not truth", because we cannot always know the truth, and have to work with the best info we get. Reliable sources usually accomplish that. If there's anything you think is inaccurate, we can try to fix it. If something is "no longer true", it might still belong there. Like for instance if you were married but got divorced, we don't delete the info on the marriage. Hope that helps explain it somewhat. There's more links I could share with you. – Muboshgu (talk) 21:16, 18 February 2020 (UTC)

Careful with that Rollback!

Muboshgu, you undid three days worth of edits at WP:GAN with this edit, tagged with Rollback. Fortunately, the bot runs every 20 minutes, and rebuilt the page with the correct information. It's not a page where any non-bot edits should be done as a general rule, and this is the second time you've done a Rollback on the page this year, so please try to figure out what's going wrong so you can avoid doing it a third time. Many thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 05:32, 19 February 2020 (UTC)

BlueMoonset, shit I'm sorry. I had no idea that happened. It's some touchscreen misclicks. I'll be more careful, figure out other processes. – Muboshgu (talk) 05:36, 19 February 2020 (UTC)

Heya—I'm an editor at Fast Company looking at Wikipedia's role in the info ecosystem especially around the 2020 presidential election, and noticed your vigilant editing on some related pages. If you have a few minutes, I'd love to send you a few questions by email. If you're interested or even skeptical, if you have a moment, please reach me at apasternack at gmail dot com, and I'll explain further! Thank you for your quick reaction there! That editor has been here for four years with no blocks so I wonder what's going on there.

If you could, would you mind looking at a reply I left on a stale-ish section on that same page? I have no idea if my suggestion is in accordance with policy but I suspect you would know. Please see this and thanks again. 2600:1700:B7A1:9A30:7CB9:BDAB:30E9:A90E (talk) 03:45, 22 February 2020 (UTC)

Notice

The article Jaron Long has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No RS to support its notability. Fails to comply with GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. WikiAviator (talk) 06:56, 22 February 2020 (UTC)

No worries. I don’t wanna cause a issue but I don’t want bad info for people either. There are a few other minor things that are incorrect but nothing that would make people question them. Just my “personal” section had too many mistakes so I felt I wanted to eliminate them. I’ve never looked at my page before or would’ve corrected them earlier. And thank you for The Hall congrats. Life changed a little after that call!! Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Golfshirts (talkcontribs) 15:55, 22 February 2020 (UTC)

I see guess I can’t delete most of personal section? I see it’s back now. Just saw one mistake I didn’t see before, I bowled with a guy named Tim Simmons, not Ted. Lol — Preceding unsigned comment added by Golfshirts (talkcontribs) 16:00, 22 February 2020 (UTC)

Golfshirts, I'll look at the bowling thing. Whatever other errors there are, please let me know. If you can find the references that can be used to make changes, that's even better. I guess you can bowl with Ted Simmons in Cooperstown in July if you two want. Tell DJ I said hi, and I'm the editor who got his article to featured status. – Muboshgu (talk) 18:16, 22 February 2020 (UTC)

Hello. You told me to tell you if things go bad. The user is back, with a new revert other than the one that existed when my protection request was declined. OpIndia

Hey Muboshgu,

I see you have put OpIndia under semi-protected status so I'm assuming you must be aware to an extent of the controversial nature of the article. I recently reverted an edit made by an editor. The editor was in an ongoing discussion with another on the talk page concerning the content. They reverted it back and then I reverted it back, asking them to arrive at a consensus on the talk page first. In hindsight, perhaps I should have stated my concern on the first revert. They reverted it back calling my revert to be vandalism. So, I pinged them on the talk page asking why they are editing while they clearly haven't come to an agreement there and their response to just call me a troll, reassert their viewpoint and accused me of having an agenda. So, I responded by elaborating on my viewpoint on how they are breaking WP:NPOV with their edit, and raised the guidelines they're breaking. I tried my best but I'm a pretty new editor and I do not know what else to do against this kind of antagonism and uncooperative behavior. So I'm asking whether you could take a look at it.

  • New York (state) Epicgenius, a WikiCup newcomer, led the field with a featured article, five good articles and an assortment of other submissions, specialising on buildings and locations in New York, for a total of 895 points.
  • England Gog the Mild came next with 464 points, from a featured article, two good articles and a number of reviews, the main theme being naval warfare.
  • United States Raymie was in third place with 419 points, garnered from one good article and an impressive 34 DYKs on radio and TV stations in the United States.
  • Somerset Harrias came next at 414, with a featured article and three good articles, an English civil war battle specialist.
  • Pirate flag CaptainEek was in fifth place with 405 points, mostly garnered from bringing Cactus wren to featured article status.
  • The top ten contestants at the end of Round 1 all scored over 200 points; they also included United States L293D, Venezuela Kingsif, Antarctica Enwebb, England Lee Vilenski and Nepal CAPTAIN MEDUSA. Seven of the top ten contestants in Round 1 are new to the WikiCup.

These contestants, like all the others, now have to start scoring points again from scratch. In Round 1 there were four featured articles, one featured list and two featured pictures, as well as around two hundred DYKs and twenty-seven ITNs. Between them, contestants completed 127 good article reviews, nearly a hundred more than the 43 good articles they claimed for, thus making a substantial dent in the review backlog. Contestants also claimed for 40 featured article / featured list reviews, and most even remembered to mention their WikiCup participation in their reviews (a requirement).

Remember that any content promoted after the end of Round 1 but before the start of Round 2 can be claimed in Round 2. Some contestants made claims before the new submissions pages were set up, and they will need to resubmit them. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews.

If you want to help out with the WikiCup, please do your bit to keep down the review backlogs! Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! WikiCup newsletter correction

There was an error in the WikiCup 2020 March newsletter; United States L293D should not have been included in the list of top ten scorers in Round 1 (they led the list last year), instead, United States Dunkleosteus77 should have been included, having garnered 334 points from five good articles on animals, living or extinct, and various reviews. Administrators' newsletter – March 2020

News and updates for administrators from the past month (February 2020).

Guideline and policy news

  • Following an RfC, the blocking policy was changed to state that sysops must not undo or alter CheckUser or Oversight blocks, rather than should not.
  • A request for comment confirmed that sandboxes of established but inactive editors may not be blanked due solely to inactivity.

Technical news

  • Following a discussion, Twinkle's default CSD behavior will soon change, most likely this week. After the change, Twinkle will default to "tagging mode" if there is no CSD tag present, and default to "deletion mode" if there is a CSD tag present. You will be able to always default to "deletion mode" (the current behavior) using your Twinkle preferences.

Hey can you look at this users contribs? User:Faizubot, seems odd maybe not here to build an encyclopedia, maybe just doing edit tests, can't tell. Hell in a Bucket (talk) 16:42, 2 March 2020 (UTC)

Tri-Cities, Tennessee-Virginia

I don't think it matters much, but your undiscussed move of Tri-Cities, Tennessee-Virginia to Tri-Cities, Tennessee isn't really correct. Bristol is half in Tennessee and half in Virginia - the tri cities definitely includes the Virginia side. I speak as a former resident of the area. - DavidWBrooks (talk) 20:18, 4 March 2020 (UTC)

DavidWBrooks, it was not an undiscussed move. It was a reversion of an undiscussed move. It was also in keeping with how metropolitan areas are generally covered, when the suburbs encroach on other states. For instance, New York metropolitan area. Perhaps an actual discussion is in order. – Muboshgu (talk) 20:25, 4 March 2020 (UTC)
Sorry, I missed the reversion. The difference is that it's not the suburbs or adjoining community that crosses the state line, it's an incorporated city in a different state that constitutes half of one of the "three cities" - the state lines runs right down main street. I can't find an exact wikpedia parallel - Kansas City metropolitan area is also a split city but the article covers just the one city, not multiple cities. There are too many "tri-cities" areas to name it without a state, so we can't take that route. - DavidWBrooks (talk) 21:07, 4 March 2020 (UTC)

Ibraheem Samirah Notice

Dear Muboshgu, can you please follow up on Ibraheem Samirah's anti-semitism and his promotion of white-washing it through probable sock puppetry if you've got time. I've noticed you've been involved with re-establishing some of his potential edits. Thank you for your anti-vandalism efforts, Buzzards-Watch Me Work (talk) 23:28, 4 March 2020 (UTC)

Buzzards-Watch Me Work, I will later, when I have time. I was unaware of any allegations of socking. – Muboshgu (talk) 23:56, 4 March 2020 (UTC)
No worries, take your time. I'm not going to escalate things. Buzzards-Watch Me Work (talk) 00:31, 5 March 2020 (UTC)
Hey Muboshgu, I'm about to put a notice on the Administrators' noticeboard for comment and help since he's now admitted to it and continued to edit his page. I'm going to get another admin, hopefully, to remove his most recent edits to his page. When you've got time, I'd love to hear from you, but it's become a complex case and problem now after I began digging into it. Buzzards-Watch Me Work (talk) 05:51, 5 March 2020 (UTC)
Buzzards-Watch Me Work, I'll take a look. – Muboshgu (talk) 06:01, 5 March 2020 (UTC)
I'll take a look now. – Muboshgu (talk) 06:03, 5 March 2020 (UTC)
Great to see your point about his editing behavior agreeing with my findings. I've just put up a notice now about the case to bring in new eyes for comment and help. Buzzards-Watch Me Work (talk) 06:49, 5 March 2020 (UTC)
Well, Muboshgu, despite the fair amount of evidence of COI and probably socking, I think I completely blew my case up when I was reporting it. I guess it's like a lawyer on the prosecution side screwing up their case and the judge(s) letting the defendant walk. I'll probably get a topic ban from this so best of luck sorting everything out. I don't agree with you on how the anti-semitism was portrayed, but I do find you reasonable to work with, and I wish you all the best. I do hope you can fix some of the issues I addressed on the page since they do hold weight. I'm going to walk away from Wikipedia permanently because of this. Even if the topic ban isn't imposed, I'll still quite. I know people can hold grudges on here so I'll have that hanging over my head. I'm very entrepreneurial and this bureaucratic system just doesn't vibe well with me. Best of luck sorting it out. Buzzards-Watch Me Work (talk) 02:35, 6 March 2020 (UTC)
Buzzards-Watch Me Work, what? I haven't seen what happened, but I'll have to go take a look. I don't find you to be any sort of problematic editor who needs a topic ban. – Muboshgu (talk) 02:38, 6 March 2020 (UTC)
Muboshgu, I'm sure you'll have fun going through that thread (sarcastic joke haha). I've basically lost all credibility to the point that even if I didn't get a topic ban (highly unlikely at this point based on how public opinion is swinging. I also think even if you came out defending me, I don't think it'd move things in my direction, unfortunately. I still appreciate the moral support in case past edits of mine somehow get tied to this. It'd be nice to leave with a clean name instead of feeling like this was mostly a forced retirement. I'd like to leave solely on my own terms) I'll have this hanging around my neck. It literally takes years to build up a reputation and one thread to destroy it. I really was overexuberant about getting him (at least I think my evidence collectively holds weight), and I do believe the evidence is in my favor. But, I really skewed upon the delivery and I undermined the entire case that I outlined. I also think the back-in-force with another editor about what is assault didn't help me, and it caused everyone to focus on my completely detrimental comments instead of the breakdown on Samirah's talk page. I've got a feeling most of them didn't even bother reading it since I had to supply difs on there. My comments on the thread amplified everything instead of trying to bring in new eyes to form a consensus about how to phrase things. The entire sequence of events is incredibly disheartening to me, and it's quite depressing that my actions are probably going to let him get away with COI and socking. So much for my attempt to get consensus on the page. I just hope you'll try to find something from my findings if they've got any validity left. Buzzards-Watch Me Work (talk) 03:11, 6 March 2020 (UTC)
I'm definitely closing my account based on the AN and Wikipedia's bureaucratic reporting system and how that vibes with my personality. Best of luck with everything you're doing with anti-vandalism, Wikipedia needs it. Buzzards-Watch Me Work (talk) 06:49, 7 March 2020 (UTC)

Request: Restoring Draft: zenkit

Hi Muboshgu,

I´m pretty inexperienced with creating content on Wikipedia. Thus I need your help for restoring the page. I was informed that Newslinger accepted the draft but at the same time I was asked to check the reviews which I could not find. Sorry in advance if I violated any rules or standards. Can you please help me along?

Kyle Kulinski page

Hello, can we please get a page up for Kyle Kulinski... I saw you had protected it and am not sure who to really asked as I am not involved at all. For some reason his draft is being deleted? Not sure. This whole message is quite a mess so apologies - but I think it is important he has a page active. Thanks, WBPchur (talk) 05:44, 4 March 2020 (UTC)

WBPchur, the page was deleted after a fourth AfD. It had been repeatedly recreated. If you think it should have a page, you'll need to make the case through Draft:Kyle Kulinski, which I see is currently nominated for deletion. – Muboshgu (talk) 05:50, 4 March 2020 (UTC)
How would I make this case? Cheers, WBPchur (talk) 06:18, 4 March 2020 (UTC)
WBPchur, (talk page watcher) here. You can join the deletion discussion here, and you should probably review Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kyle Kulinski (4th nomination) first to become familiar with the issues with the article. Schazjmd (talk) 14:45, 4 March 2020 (UTC)

@Muboshgu: Draft:Kyle Kulinski was kept, but protected. There is a pre-existing userspace draft to which I have added a Jacobin profile which Jimmy Wales calls a "RS which is a profile piece with statements clearly establishing notability" and a new profile in the Santa Clarita Gazette which SmokeyJoe (who considers the Jacobin profile non-independent, with which I disagree) considers one source establishing notability. However, there has been a claim of notability based on WP:ENTERTAINER by three editors which has gone unchallenged for ten days. On that basis, I would like to re-submit the article for creation, but the instructions at WP:SALT say to contact you first, while your protection message says to "Use WP:AFC if you want to publish again." I would prefer not to use AfC, because my previous two submissions there were denied, followed by multiple subsequent submissions from IP editors unknown to me who caused the draft to be protected.

My question to you is, do you still prefer AfC or would WP:SALT's second-choice recommendation of WP:RFUP be preferable to you? Thank you for your patience and kind help. EllenCT (talk) 19:26, 11 March 2020 (UTC)

EllenCT, hmm. I see from the url of the SC Gazette article that it is an opinion piece. I still think AfC is the best route, and preferably with a fresh reviewer. – Muboshgu (talk) 15:34, 12 March 2020 (UTC)
I am confused as to why there is a Draft:Kyle Kulinski and a User:Trackinfo/Kyle Kulinski. There should be only one draft. – Muboshgu (talk) 15:41, 12 March 2020 (UTC)

Delay of MLB season

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the game logs on every MLB season need to be changed. How should I go about doing that? Astros1962 (talk) 23:30, 12 March 2020 (UTC)

I would wait till the season resumes cause we have no idea what the schedule will look like at that point. For now maybe just put a note in front of the box saying the season has been delayed. Spanneraol (talk) 23:39, 12 March 2020 (UTC)
Astros1962, I agree with Spanneraol. We have no idea even if there's going to be a season, let alone when it would start. It's best just to leave things as they are for now and take the developments as they come. – Muboshgu (talk) 23:59, 12 March 2020 (UTC)

Hunter Biden

How did I vandalize the article Hunter Biden? Please explain. - Aceusa (talk) 22:21, 14 March 2020 (UTC)

Aceusa, no reliable source says what you tried adding. There is a high bar for inclusion in a BLP. Next time, don't edit war. You should've asked this question the first time you were reverted. – Muboshgu (talk) 00:23, 15 March 2020 (UTC)
The second time I edited, I used the Washington Times, which is a reliable source, and it said exactly what I tried to add. Why did you revert this edit? - Aceusa (talk) 00:27, 15 March 2020 (UTC)
The Washington Times is a dubious source for American politics. -- BullRangifer (talk) 01:09, 15 March 2020 (UTC)
In support of the above, Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Perennial sources lists the Washington Times as a "caution" source, particularly with respect to U.S. politics. I'm sure you are aware that the Washington Times is owned by the Unification movement, a Korean religious movement that many authorities have characterized as a cult. BD2412 T 01:20, 15 March 2020 (UTC)
If I re-edit the article with reliable sources, will my edit be reverted? Aceusa (talk) 03:07, 15 March 2020 (UTC)
Per WP:BRD, the appropriate course of action to take in response to an edit being contested is to initiate a discussion on the article's talk page, and try to form a consensus in favor of including the contested information. Of course, for an article falling under WP:BLP, you would want a fairly ironclad source for that purpose. BD2412 T 03:24, 15 March 2020 (UTC)

This user told me “Wikipedia isn't a noticeboard for your own personal point of view or for partisan rhetoric intermittently referenced to partisan or fringe sources”

It’s not? Then what is it? Which editors on here who are administrators can I contact who can verify that your description is accurate? Seems like your quote describes what Wikipedia IS, not what it is NOT.? but I’m open minded and willing to find what evidence backs up your claim. Please let me know, thanks. Jpodesta1 (talk) 18:30, 16 March 2020 (UTC)

Jpodesta1, that wasn't my description, but I agree with it. You seem to be intent on interjecting some POV material, such as at Washington Times, and simple vandalism, like at Savage Love. I really don't get the sense that you are here to improve the encyclopedia. – Muboshgu (talk) 19:06, 16 March 2020 (UTC)

Jim Zeigler Revert

I'm a bit frustrated to say the least. I hunted for newspaper citations of the time period to further strengthen Jim Zeigler's involvement in the matter and you removed them. It is highly pertinent information. And he helped Alabama avoid a catastrophe. What gives? Belledoll (talk) 19:43, 17 March 2020 (UTC)

Belledoll, we've been over this before. Zeigler made a suggestion that was not implemented. It's pretty hard to suggest "he helped Alabama avoid a catastrophe" based on that. – Muboshgu (talk) 20:31, 17 March 2020 (UTC)

Re: Dianne Feinstein Stock Sale Controversy

Hello, Muboshgu. You have new messages at Talk:Dianne Feinstein.
Message added 17:54, 20 March 2020 (UTC). You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Senators selling stock

Recently you reverted an edit to Diane Feinstein's page calling allegations she committed insider trading false - [2]. The same material has been added to Kelly Loeffler's page in much more detail. Both Feinstein and Loeffler have used the same excuse - namely that their assets are in blind trusts and they don't have control over them. Do you think this material should be removed from Loeffler's page? Here's a good quote from CNN: "There's no evidence that any of the sales, including Burr's, broke any laws or ran afoul of Senate rules." source. Mr Ernie (talk) 06:38, 21 March 2020 (UTC)

Mr Ernie, I agree it was added due to WP:RECENTISM. What you removed from Loeffler looked like WP:UNDUE weight too. We shall see as we learn more about these stock sales. – Muboshgu (talk) 16:06, 21 March 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for the advice. If coverage continues a bit should be added I think. Mr Ernie (talk) 18:10, 21 March 2020 (UTC)

Ian Kinsler

Saw the news today about Ian Kinsler becoming an Israeli citizen and wanting to be part of the Israeli Olympic team and wondered if anyone updated his page accordingly. While the Olympics are obviously on hold given what is happening with COVID19, can't dispute the noteworthiness of the news and his page should be updated to reflect this. MaskedSinger (talk) 18:06, 23 March 2020 (UTC)

MaskedSinger, oh he did? L'chaim to him. I don't believe there was a source verifying that information in the edits I reverted. With a reliable source, that would indeed be important info to include. – Muboshgu (talk) 18:09, 23 March 2020 (UTC)

PPS: Can I ask you some advice? If I come across a page and there's a lot of unsourced/unreferenced material on it? What's the best way to deal with this? Delete all the unsourced material? What do you do? MaskedSinger (talk) 18:36, 23 March 2020 (UTC)

MaskedSinger, it depends on the content. Often times, it's important to keep and we can find sources for it. Other times, it's fan cruft that should be trimmed or vandalism that should be removed. – Muboshgu (talk) 18:44, 23 March 2020 (UTC)

DYK for Raphael Warnock

On 24 March 2020, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Raphael Warnock, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the Reverend Raphael Warnock has hosted Al Gore at his church, and been arrested at the Georgia State Capitol? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Raphael Warnock. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Raphael Warnock), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

  • I am creating [[Category:Men whistleblowers]], a Category like [[Category:Women whistleblowers]]. What did you think when you Undid that process?~~T3g5JZ50GLq (talk) 22:05, 24 March 2020 (UTC)
T3g5JZ50GLq, we do not need a category for "male whistleblowers". There's a category for women because women are underrepresented. – Muboshgu (talk) 22:12, 24 March 2020 (UTC)

Template:2019–20 coronavirus pandemic data/United States medical cases by state

Hello, Muboshgu. Did you mean to skip right to TE-protection on that page? AFAIK the other COVID-related pages are semi- or EC-protected at most. Was there disruption from extendedconfirmed editors on this one? Suffusion of Yellow (talk) 20:23, 26 March 2020 (UTC)

Suffusion of Yellow, the request was for TE, and as it's a template, I didn't think twice. I can harmonize the protection level with the other templates. – Muboshgu (talk) 20:53, 26 March 2020 (UTC)
Thanks. That page is obviously going to need a lot of updates. If there's disruption from autoconfirmed editors, I'll request EC protection. Suffusion of Yellow (talk) 20:59, 26 March 2020 (UTC)

You have created 2,140 articles ...

What browser plugins, organizational tools, software, or workflows do you use ?

I am trying to create articles, some biographies of women, and a viral event, that are convoluted tasks.
One is in the 1800s and the resource material has a non-contemporary world-view, was very famous then but not now, with a sparse surviving chronology.
another person has at least four different names,
another is the real-world "game".
Is there a way to find a list of prolific page creators ?
How do I add local wikis to my en.wikipedia.org account, like ar.wikipedia.org ?

T3g5JZ50GLq (talk) 02:15, 26 March 2020 (UTC)

T3g5JZ50GLq, I'm not sure what you're asking exactly, especially about local wikis. I've created a lot of articles over time, nearly a decade and a half. – Muboshgu (talk) 20:57, 26 March 2020 (UTC)
Muboshgu, How do I add other wikis, like ar.wikipedia.org, to my en.wikipedia.org account?
What browser plugins, tools, or software do you use to create articles ? T3g5JZ50GLq (talk) 22:55, 26 March 2020 (UTC)
Muboshgu, You have accounts on other wikis, like *.wikipedia.org, how do I add similar (commons, de, es,...etc.) to my en.wikipedia.org account? ←→ T3g5JZ50GLq (talk) 00:18, 27 March 2020 (UTC)
T3g5JZ50GLq, I use various plug ins, but they don't help to create articles. That's about knowing what subject needs an article and finding sources. You have the account across all wikispaces too. Our accounts are global through Wikimedia. – Muboshgu (talk) 16:27, 27 March 2020 (UTC)
Muboshgu, I mean like, plug ins that make researching more effective, like searching, or making reference templates. I have the account across all wikispaces, I had to go to a Special: page to unite them, some I have used, but I cannot seem to login to meta. ←→ T3g5JZ50GLq (talk) 04:11, 28 March 2020 (UTC)

Grouches

There's no reason why you should've deleted the article for Grouches from Sesame Street; that was a perfectly legitimate article. You need to bring it back. -- 68.163.109.174 (talk) 21:45, 30 March 2020 (UTC)

I have no idea which article you're talking about, but I'm sure there was a good reason for deleting it. – Muboshgu (talk) 21:59, 30 March 2020 (UTC)
That's the article's name, "Grouches", like Oscar the Grouch. -- 68.163.109.174 (talk) 22:27, 30 March 2020 (UTC)
The article at Grouches was completely unsourced and listed at PROD without any objection for a week. If you want me to undelete it, I can as a contested PROD. – Muboshgu (talk) 22:56, 30 March 2020 (UTC)
I saw the article in archive.org. It doesn't pass general notability guidelines of Wikipedia so I agree with Muboshgu deletion.--SharʿabSalam▼ (talk) 09:40, 31 March 2020 (UTC)
  • You need to slow down with the deletion. I noticed that you deleted the "Rahmanism" article that was proposed for deletion with a stupid fringe reason. Before deleting an article make a thorough examination of the reason for deletion.--SharʿabSalam▼ (talk) 22:41, 30 March 2020 (UTC)
SharabSalam, it was listed at PROD for seven days without objection and I certainly didn't see any reason to object to it myself. I'm not a subject expert in that area. It was tagged as original research, disputed, and a possible hoax. – Muboshgu (talk) 22:58, 30 March 2020 (UTC)
It was not an original research or a hoax. If you do a small research you will find reliable sources. What that editor who wrote that proposed deletion said is a hoax and somehow insulting. Why didn't the editor start a deletion discussion instead of proposed deletion? I didn't notice that deletion proposal. So if I proposed an article for deletion and no body noticed it's going to get deleted after 7 days? --SharʿabSalam▼ (talk) 09:40, 31 March 2020 (UTC)
SharabSalam, generally, if an AfD isn't commented on, it gets treated the same as an uncontested PROD, meaning it is a "soft delete" that can be restored via WP:REFUND. I had no reason to doubt the person who nominated that article for deletion. – Muboshgu (talk) 16:36, 31 March 2020 (UTC)
So you don't have to verify the claim made by the person who proposed the article for deletion?. The nomination for deletion is way visible than the proposed deletion.--SharʿabSalam▼ (talk) 16:43, 31 March 2020 (UTC)
SharabSalam, I am expected to check each article and not delete if I disagree. I didn't disagree with what I saw. What you put at Rahmanan is different from the content I deleted. – Muboshgu (talk) 17:59, 31 March 2020 (UTC)
The article was sourced. It was not a hoax. You are clearly not well-informed about what you are talking about. You said you are not an expert in these things. So don't delete it. Let other admins who know what they're talking about delete. I don't have the content. It was legit but some work needed. See for example. Rahmanan is currently a stub. I am going to expand the article. Before deleting an article do a thorough examination of the claims that are made by the proposer. Don't delete stuff because you WP:JUSTDONTLIKEIT--SharʿabSalam▼ (talk) 18:05, 31 March 2020 (UTC)
SharabSalam, I deleted it because it was proposed for deletion for seven days without objection and it did not appear to me to be a bad nomination. Not every admin is a content area expert, and that's not the standard for whether an admin deletes an article or not. – Muboshgu (talk) 18:57, 31 March 2020 (UTC)

what just happened?

We're done here. – Muboshgu (talk) 23:37, 3 April 2020 (UTC)
The following discussion has been closed. Please do not modify it.

Why did you just speedily delete a page that you recommended be created just last week? - Bbny-wiki-editor (talk) 22:16, 3 April 2020 (UTC)

Bbny-wiki-editor, I voted to keep it at AfD, but consensus was against me. I respect consensus even if I don't agree with it. Don't recreate pages deleted via discussion. – Muboshgu (talk) 22:17, 3 April 2020 (UTC)
This is dumb. It was deleted because of the inclusion of the investigated players, which have now been deleted. If six idiots vote to delete the PED suspensions list, will you abide by that, too? I created a NEW list of suspended players. - Bbny-wiki-editor (talk) 22:20, 3 April 2020 (UTC)
Bbny-wiki-editor, assume good faith and be civil. This is unbecoming. – Muboshgu (talk) 22:21, 3 April 2020 (UTC)
I'm assuming you made a good-faith mistake and will correct it. That AfD did not result in a prohibition against a list of SUSPENDED players appearing on Wikipedia. - Bbny-wiki-editor (talk) 22:23, 3 April 2020 (UTC)
Bbny-wiki-editor, there did not seem to be any support for that idea in the AfD, and you literally copied content from a cached version of the deleted page. – Muboshgu (talk) 22:28, 3 April 2020 (UTC)
What are you talking about? The AfD vote was like 10 delete to 4 keep and 4 move. The 4 keeps obviously/implicitly supported a move. There's also no prohibition on reusing non-banned content, so it's entirely unclear why you're objecting to that. - Bbny-wiki-editor (talk) 22:30, 3 April 2020 (UTC)
Bbny-wiki-editor, consensus is not about counting votes. It's assessing the strength of the arguments. I think you're trying to recreate content deleted in a discussion, and that should go through WP:DRV. – Muboshgu (talk) 22:38, 3 April 2020 (UTC)
You're being ridiculous. There was no consensus against a list of SUSPENDED players. By your logic, any mention of the suspensions should also be scrubbed from, and thereafter forever banned from being mentioned on, the players' individual pages. - Bbny-wiki-editor (talk) 22:41, 3 April 2020 (UTC)
Bbny-wiki-editor, there were BLP issues raised around the sensitive topic of domestic violence, especially as these people have in many cases not been convicted of a crime. I've said all I have to say here. If you think I'm "ridiculous", and Bradv is being "ridiculous", you probably won't think well of DRV either. – Muboshgu (talk) 22:50, 3 April 2020 (UTC)
Yes or no: Should any mention of suspensions be deleted from the players' pages? - Bbny-wiki-editor (talk) 22:53, 3 April 2020 (UTC)
Bbny-wiki-editor, that wasn't the question asked in the AfD. – Muboshgu (talk) 22:55, 3 April 2020 (UTC)
Why are you playing games? If there are BLP issues about a list, those same BLP issues would apply even more to the more highly trafficked individual player pages. So I'll ask again: Should any mention of domestic violence suspensions be deleted from the players' pages? - Bbny-wiki-editor (talk) 22:58, 3 April 2020 (UTC)
Bbny-wiki-editor, you're playing games, and I'm not interested. Go to DRV if you want to see the page undeleted. – Muboshgu (talk) 22:59, 3 April 2020 (UTC)
That's funny. Five minutes ago, you claimed to be concerned about "BLP issues raised around the sensitive topic of domestic violence." I guess BLP now applies more to lists than to...BLPs. Hilarious. - Bbny-wiki-editor (talk) 23:03, 3 April 2020 (UTC)
Bbny-wiki-editor, take it up with those who decided to delete the article. – Muboshgu (talk) 23:11, 3 April 2020 (UTC)
Why would I do that? Unlike most of the delete voters in that AfD, you basically live in Baseball Wikipedia. Do you or don't you have BLP concerns about the pages in question? If you do, why haven't you deleted the suspension mentions from the players' pages? - Bbny-wiki-editor (talk) 23:15, 3 April 2020 (UTC)

Valerie Plame

I figured the entire antisemitic paragraph already in Wikipedia was enough to discredit her progressive credentials but I'll find her views and site them appropriately. Antisemitic and progressive labels cannot apply to the same person but again I will site her views accordingly. Tscatu1 (talk) 20:12, 4 April 2020 (UTC)

Well Versed

  • I will welcome the chance / opportunity to show you how you are incorrect. I picked at random an article you created out of 2100 plus. Doubt you're going to agree that you may emphasize quantity over quality. You'll probably take it personally if I try to show you things about you or your contributions that demonstrated that thinking.
  • Here's said article, 2014_Tennessee_gubernatorial_election. 74 words, that's it. You created the article with very few words. What I am saying is if someone creates an article about anything somewhat current it's very difficult to have it not be deleted. Someone will try to get it removed. I can completely rewrite Angelina Green and I guess you would agree it should be posted if you'll seriously consider the following. What constitutes a "discussion" on here (Wikipedia)? More than three people? Who decided that? Why or what is the purpose in rewriting an article just to not be accused of re-posting something? What if most of the facts about someone are stated in the original article?
  • There seems to be a bias on this site about new articles, also about tv performers. I would like you to look at the above and answer me on these subjects. Add to this that there have been six seasons where the golden buzzer has been used on AGT. Out of 47 performers who have gotten golden buzzers 16 have articles on Wikipedia; four won first place on the show. Angelica Hale placed 2nd three years ago and if you go look at her page on here her notability is being questioned.
  • Summing up, a third of the golden buzzers have articles. You yourself would have a tough or arduous task if you attempted to create an article about performers and similar subjects. Momentum7 (talk) 23:45, 6 April 2020 (UTC)
Momentum7, your entire argument is moot, picking one article that I created that I didn't work to expand. The point is that the article you wanted restored was deleted via a discussion and then deleted again because it was a near exact replica of what was deleted via a discussion. That doesn't fly. – Muboshgu (talk) 14:45, 7 April 2020 (UTC)
    • There wasn't much of a discussion. As stated if the facts were already presented in the article how would someone re-write it? My point was that if you created an article about a tv performer it would likely be discarded. I am willing to create an article that would be potentially acceptable. Momentum7 (talk) 09:31, 8 April 2020 (UTC)

Your draft article, Draft:Jannquell Peters

Hello, Muboshgu. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Jannquell Peters".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

I question why you removed the piece about his comments on Cuba from the article. These views, which were heavily criticized, received coverage from the NYT and numerous national outlets. They were made while he was still considered a strong contender for the nomination and are relevant to his foreign policy opinions. Have you really looked closely to the two "objections" on the talk page? Do you really believe those hold weight and are appropriately referencing WP policy? Both are very frivolous and make points that are easily dismissed. One editor claimed it's "unbiographical," selectively applying a catch-all term in contradiction of how we treat politican's prominent views and statements per WP:PUBLICFIGURE and WP:DUE. I hope you will take a closer look here and consider self-reverting -- there is already plenty of whitewashing going on at this article. Thanks. Wikieditor19920 (talk) 20:48, 11 April 2020 (UTC)

Newsworthy, noteworthy

Hi. With this edit [3], after you quoted Wikipedia (probably WP:1E), you wrote: "This applies here. Newsworthiness has not been established to the extent that would support a standalone article." Well, I'm thinking you meant to write "Noteworthiness has not been established to the extent that would support a standalone article." I might be wrong. And I just wanted to let you know - just in case. Regards, Steve Quinn (talk) 08:29, 15 April 2020 (UTC)

"I don't need to explain why I'm reverting your edit"

You think you are above the law? 2601:181:C381:6C80:D17B:421C:1FE2:2789 (talk) 18:30, 16 April 2020 (UTC)

I don't need to explain why I revert vandalism, no. – Muboshgu (talk) 18:35, 16 April 2020 (UTC)

Tom Moore

Closed is an opinion. This was open for one day. Please tell me how this ITN has run its course. I am contesting the close and since I hadn't seen this ITN and wish to add I had reopened. Oddly enough this is what happens when a discussion is not allowed to run it's course. How many others have not seen this. I'd ask that you reopen this is in good faith and allow this to continue. Littleolive oil (talk) 18:08, 16 April 2020 (UTC)

Littleolive oil, it was closed by an administrator and when an administrator closes something, it's closed. This is also the kind of story that has been nominated many times in the past and does not get consensus, which is why the thread was closed when it was closed. If you request the administrator who closed it, Stephen, to reopen it, I imagine he'll say the same thing I just said. – Muboshgu (talk) 18:13, 16 April 2020 (UTC)
No. I can contest an admin as well as I can any editor. There is zero reason to not let this play out a few days. And every story is different; we do not on Wikipedia judge something based on the presumption that it is like something else. This close and the subsequent removal of another editor's action, mine, is wrong and based on incorrect thinking: I can question an admin's move especially in this kind of situation. This is not to be judge based on some other ITN but on editor input-each ITN must stand or fail on its own merits. Editor input was closed down prematurely after one day based on the opinion of the closer. This is not a good scenario and I protest it strongly, and in fact feel quite ticked off not my usual state of mind. Littleolive oil (talk) 18:29, 16 April 2020 (UTC)
Littleolive oil, at a minimum, it's bad form to undo the closure of a thread. I'm not sure if it's specifically against the rules. This is a parochial story with no broad interest It's not the kind of story ITN posts and therefore was a good close. Take it up with Stephen if you wish. – Muboshgu (talk) 18:48, 16 April 2020 (UTC)
I will let this go. It's not worth the fight, But no it's not bad form to undue a close; I see it all the time and often the closer is willing to allow the undo to stand given a reopen indicates the close is contested. I repeat, this does not have to do with the presumptions about the ITN it has to do with allowing something to run its course with the input that comes with multiples users inputting information over time. Do you see that what you are doing is simply supporting your own opinion on the ITN; an individual opinion is not a definitive position or consensus. Consensus is when multiple interested editors input. There was no time for input because the ITN discussion was closed in one day... and opinion is not consensus. I'll let this go and assume your good faith. Best wishes. Littleolive oil (talk) 19:08, 16 April 2020 (UTC)

No, I'm correct! Baseball America is correct! And only you are Wrong! Mlb.com always late but Kaleb Cowart is really a yankee. You can see it now!

I need u to re-add it, because it's your fault. Minor deal don't always look on only mlb.com's trans. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 佾珜 (talkcontribs) 14:33, April 16, 2020 (UTC)

MLB.com is more accurate than Baseball America. If Cowart was signed with the Yankees, how come he didn't report to spring training? – Muboshgu (talk) 18:36, 16 April 2020 (UTC)
Hello, Muboshgu. You have new messages at Muboshgu's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Maybe yankees didn't invite him to major spring camp. But you can see Cowart's now mlb.com. Last December, he had already join the yankees.

And you can also see pages like milb.com or baseball-references.com. Thank for ur watch.

Cowart now just in yankees high-A club. Poor guy. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 佾珜 (talkcontribs) 14:49, April 16, 2020 (UTC)

佾珜, you're right. MLB.com lists him with the Tampa Tarpons. I guess BA was right. Please sign your posts using four tildes (~~~~) in the future. – Muboshgu (talk) 18:54, 16 April 2020 (UTC)

I don't know UTC time, so I don't know how to sign. 😢 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 佾珜 (talkcontribs) 15:17, April 16, 2020 (UTC)

@佾珜: I don't know UTC either. All you have to do is type the tilde (~) four times. – Muboshgu (talk) 19:58, 16 April 2020 (UTC)
