Hi. Quick question. I know you worked on the Jack Langer article, and I'm interested in it being nominated for DYK. Nomination has to be done by an established editor (not something I am or am inclined to be -- I'm not a joiner). In the past, I've worked with another established editor who has done the honors, but I asked him about this one a couple of days ago and have yet to hear back. The WikiCup

As a WikiCup judge, I propose to decline your submission of Stanley Woodward (attorney) for DYK. It falls foul of the rule that states "Points are awarded for created or expanded articles appearing at DYK. No points are given for nominating an article at DYK that has been created, expanded or improved by someone else."

As a matter of interest, this article has all the hallmarks of being written by a paid editor with a conflict of interest. The creator only had an IP address so I don't know whether he was asked about this. In my view it is better not to have such free advertising on the Wikipedia main page. What do you think?   • That's fine. I was unsure about whether it would qualify; but thanks for pointing out that rule so I know for sure. I doubt that's a COI submission from a paid editor, though. Hi there! I've been keeping an eye on links to newspapers.com that use the Wikipedia Library proxy. The issue is that these links will not work for readers who are not logged in. For these links to work for Logged in users, they need to have "500+ edits, 6+ months editing, 10+ edits in the last month, No active blocks". I see that number of your edits use "https://www-newspapers-com.wikipedialibrary.idm.oclc.org/". I've proposed a solution that manually requires replacing www-newspapers-com.wikipedialibrary.idm.oclc.org with www.newspapers.com. I'd welcome any input you might have over at that page.
