From Ted52 (talk · contribs): No links, no proof of relevance of the redirect. Procedural nomination, as they incorrectly used WP:PROD instead of RfD. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 18:54, 22 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. The article explains the relevance with the sourced sentence Her fourth and fifth novels, Juliana Ormeston and The prince of Leon, were published under the name "Mrs. Harley,". Nobody else seems particularly associated with the term, but a hatnote to Harley (surname) will find the people who could be referred to by this name. Thryduulf (talk) 19:13, 22 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment. I initiated the page, so perhaps I could explain my thinking. Anyone who edits articles on women writers in earlier periods has surely found that along with all the usual challenges of historical research, there is the significant added problem of multiple names: many women writers were married, sometimes more than once, and may have published under two or more legal names at various times in their careers. To make matters more ambiguous, married women frequently published as "Mrs.", without their first names. The same writer can be referred to differently in different sources, both during their lifetimes and by scholars afterwards. People find their way to these writers under one or other of their names and it seemed good practice to make it as easy as possible for Wikipedia users to get to the article from wherever they had started.— scribblingwoman 13:33, 25 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect left over from an article hijacking. Term not mentioned at target. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 17:05, 22 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Delete Najaf ali bhayo (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · page moves · block user · logs · block log · arb · rfc · lta · SPI · cuwiki) has a habit of overwriting existing articles on a different topic, so this place is probably distinct or doesn't exist. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 19:19, 22 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Those redirect mean "[country]'s army", with "portugal"'s P being erroneously being uncapitalised. Per WP:RFOREIGN and the fact the targets are not Portuguese Army etc., those redirects should be deleted. Veverve (talk) 08:09, 8 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment for the Spanish side, it was ruled by the House of Bonaparte, with Joseph Bonaparte being put on the thrown by his half-brother Napolean I ... so there is some affinity for French in the Spanish side of the Peninsular War, Spain being an appendage of the French Empire, during the reign of Joseph. -- 67.70.25.175 (talk) 23:59, 8 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep/Retarget. These are presumably all French military units who participated in the Peninsular War. French armies were often named after the area they would be campaigning in. (see: Category:Armées_of_the_French_First_Republic). Armée d'Espagne is explicitly mentioned in the article text. André Masséna famously commanded the Army of Portugal and suitable redirects should probably exist for all of these. France–Jordan relations[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was keep. Without prejudice to starting a RFC for a broader discussion as suggested below. (non-admin closure) CycloneYoris talk! 09:18, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The redirect might cause confusion/ is ambiguous. Target article makes very little mention of Jordan. Also, what is to say the redirect should targeted at Foreign relations of France when Foreign relations of Jordan also exists. ––– GMH Melbourne 05:21, 22 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Leaning keep generally in cases like this we redirect to the article about the first-named country (so France-Jordan relations would redirect to the article about France's international relations, Jordan-France relations would redirect to Jordan's). However in this Foreign relations of Jordan#Bilateral relations contains more information. If you can expand either (or both) then please do but I'm not seeing any benefit to deletion. Thryduulf (talk) 10:03, 22 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • There are thousands of redirects like this in Wikipedia. This single particular nomination won't change anything. For that reason only I would oppose for the sake of consistency. Maybe we should have a broader discussion regarding all these redirects. Super Dromaeosaurus (talk) 14:45, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose deletion for now, but I would recommend hosting a WP:RFC for whether these types of redirects should be kept or deleted per WP:RFD#D10. InterstellarGamer12321 (talk | contribs) 18:11, 27 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
