Hallo, You deleted a page at this title on 1 Dec 2015. I gather it was for who I'm now calling Indira Joshi (actor), to distinguish her from Indira Joshi (singer), having disambiguated the 16 red links which had made "her" (ie them) appear high on Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red/Redlinks/I. I would like to try to create a page for each of them, and think there seem to be about enough sources.

Could you please let me see a copy of the page which was deleted, in case it can offer any further suggestions of sources? Thanks in advance. PamD 15:15, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I've emailed you a copy. Hope it helps! -- Patar knight - chat/contributions 15:45, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Patar knight Hmm, I wonder if it's the right one. You deleted with comment "Non-notable actress with only a few significant roles", according to the log but the one you've sent seems to be Indira Joshi (singer) rather than Indira Joshi (actor). I've recreated both of them, with a dab page, and disambiguated all the red links for them both (the actor seemed to have been delinked from quite a lot of pages including at least once by a now-blocked sockpuppet, which may reflect on some complicated story!) Jim has undeleted a version of the singer into the page history, when I made a similar request to him. And all this because Women in Red are focussing on letters I & J in the alphabet this month! PamD 18:36, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies, I just grabbed the biggest version of the page from shortly before I deleted it without looking into it further. Hopefully you can find what you need in the history! -- Patar knight - chat/contributions 20:53, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:30, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

PRODs[edit]

I know that not having at least two people with the name doesn't mean that it automatically needs deletion, but a name that does not meet that criteria is still expected to meet WP:SIGCOV. There is nothing significant or special about the names that were PRODed. How do I search for sources in other languages, anyway? AllTheUsernamesAreInUse (talk) 23:48, 18 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you do not feel it meets WP:SIGCOV, you should cite that explicitly in PRODs. The only ones I deprodded were ones with sources already in the article, which indicated that there was some level of previous editor interest in the article and that there was prima facie the potential for additional sources to meet notability standards to exist if foreign-language sources were consulted. If you cannot analyze foreign language sources yourself, you can reach out to relevant WikiProjects or active users who indicate that they have fluency in the language through the Wikipedia:Babel userboxes (e.g. Category:User fr for French speakers). Sending it to AFD instead of PROD also provides an opportunity for the community to assess the article and potentially find foreign-language sources as well. -- Patar knight - chat/contributions 23:59, 22 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, fair reasoning, and thank you for the tip in the first sentence, I'll keep that in mind. AllTheUsernamesAreInUse (talk) 04:52, 29 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
