This Redirect, which looks like it's coming from project space, is linked to a User page with a questionable essay that is currently being discussed at MFD (Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Skomorokh/thekidinafrica). Since it's unclear whether or not the User page will be deleted, I thought I'd go ahead and nominate the Redirect. I don't think essays in User space should have redirects coming from project space. It's also highly unlikely that this User page will be moved over to project space at this point without a complete rewrite. Liz Read! Talk! 22:28, 23 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete: Even if this is kept at MfD (and given that it's in userspace it might be), I don't think that this should be kept as a project space redirect to userspace. There are some examples of this where the userspace pages are very commonly used, for example, WP:AFDSORT to User:SDZeroBot/AfD sorting but this redirect seems to be scantly used both in terms of incoming links and page views. Given this, the redirect would best be deleted from project space. TartarTorte 00:15, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Wait until the MfD closes. The is long-standing consensus that some Wikipedia namespace shortcuts to user-space essays are appropriate, so there is no basis on which to summarily delete this one. I strongly recommend waiting until the MfD concludes before discussing it though - if the MfD closes as delete then the redirect will be subject to speedy deletion under criterion G8, wasting any time spent discussing it here. If the MfD closes with some other outcome then that consensus will be important in determining what the appropriate action regarding the shortcut is. the related redirect Egafd (target: Template:EGAFD actress) was deleted following Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2023 October 16#Egafd. Two commenters there also advocated for deleting this redirect, but it was never tagged and has a different target so I'm nominating it here rather the deleting it directly. Not mentioned in the target article, but this is in reference to what is now known as Court Square Park (and was briefly renamed Justice Park after events in the city).
