The result of the discussion was delete. -- Patar knight - chat/contributions 02:17, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Delete per the spirit of WP:UFILM. No incoming links, subject first aired in April 2023, page views are virtually nonexistent. Steel1943 (talk) 23:58, 5 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. In this case the page views actually do indicate that the redirect's utility is over. Thryduulf (talk) 01:22, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - we know the release date of this series so it's no longer upcoming. If any articles have this link, retarget. Iggy (Swan) (Contribs) 11:59, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Bitch tits[edit]

The result of the discussion was Keep Many of the arguments in favor of taking other actions were mooted by the addition of a mention at the target. * Pppery * it has begun... 01:26, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This term is a pejorative that is not mentioned in the target article, though it seems to be a colloquialism (see Andreasson, 2015; Urban Dictionary). However, Muscle & Fitness uses the term to refer to "the breasts men grow after taking anabolic steroids to bulk up". Overall, I'm not sure if this is a worthy redirect. Significa liberdade (talk) 00:04, 21 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Soft redirect to Wiktionary, which has an entry. Redirecting to an article that doesn't mention it isn't useful. Clarityfiend (talk) 07:13, 23 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Either write a mention in the current target or delete. If we keep redirects for every term that we make up half of the encyclopedia will be Wiktionary redirects eventually. Super Dromaeosaurus (talk) 14:54, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Redirect to Fight Club, which seems to have popularized it. Hyperbolick (talk) 10:27, 30 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep: (Because there aren't already enough different ideas here): I suspect the most likely scenario for someone searching this is that they (or someone they've spoken to) has seen Fight Club and wants to know what the term means. Conversely, if most people were looking for an article on Gynecomastia, they're unlikely to know that word, and it's a reasonable suggestion for the sort of thing they'd pull out as an approximation. • Keep only if the current target mentions it, which should be fully possible. Google Books shows the following:
  • Cultural Encyclopedia of the Breast writing, "... gynecomastia is often described using the pejorative term 'bitch tits,' a term that conveys a misogynistic disdain for anatomical characteristics associated with bodies classified as female and suggests anxiety about the potential ..."
  • Demystyifying Gynecomastia: Men with Breasts writing, "... gynecomastia are synonymous for many people. On a bodybuilder, breast growth is usually referred to as 'bitch tits.' For many at the advent of steroids, bitch tits were a rite of passage. In recent years, some men become more aware and ..."
If there is a "Society and culture" section, it should be easy enough to add. Thanks, Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 19:20, 5 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete as there is no content on enwiki about the radical or functional group; deletion may encourage article creation. Strongly oppose disambiguation as this term is merely a part of the name of 100s of compounds on enwiki, and none of them may simply be referred to as "phenethyl" so no valid (nor complete) disambiguation page may be constructed per WP:PTM. From my WP:BEFORE, I could not find a link between Athondai and Ilandiraiyan, but I could have been missing something from my research. If there is no connection, this should likely be deleted. TartarTorte 15:51, 9 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment The linkage is covered (to a limited extent) in our article Tondaimandalam, where the region is described (without citation) as being "a part of the legendary kingdom of Athondai Chakravarti", with "Athondai Chakravarti" redirecting to Ilandiraiyan. That article attributes the identification of "Adondai Chakravarti" [sic] with Ilandiraiyan to "Scholar M. Arokiaswami", using an (apparently) self-published source from the 1950's. The linkage is tenuous, to say the least, but not entirely absent. Tevildo (talk) 17:40, 9 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Seriously? A redirect I created however long ago, and which is a one character deviation between the name and the target page, is a huge problem for some people? The Vital One (talk) 15:58, 1 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
67.70.25.175's suggestion below is now archived at WP:Redirects for discussion/Log/2023 October 1#Wikitable sortable. Jay 💬 13:16, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete both as redirect for the editorship and not the readership, non-reader content in articlespace -- 67.70.25.175 (talk) 04:04, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to the dab page at Table, which includes a link to the project page for those who are looking for that while everyone looking for Wikipedia content about some form of table will find a link there. Thryduulf (talk) 10:39, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not opposed to keeping "Wikitable" as is, per Skarmory, but I do still think Wikipedia Tables should be retargetted. Thryduulf (talk) 10:51, 4 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment I made the Wikitable redirect. My thought process was the specific syntax of wikitable is shown in countless articles that I would imagine any curious reader would notice. I would have to disagree with 67.70.25.175. I'm surprised there's nothing explicitly pointing the syntax back to WP:TABLES or WP:WIKITABLE. The only example I can think of syntax is infobox, and that brings up its Wikipedia use as well. With that said, Thryduulf's suggestion seems like the best fit.The Grid (talk) 13:10, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Second thoughts striked out. Keep for wikitable and delete for Wikipedia Tables. I want to also note for the closer that I'm the creator of the wikitable redirect. – The Grid (talk) 15:36, 4 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • I think retargeting to Wikitable to Table is frankly pointless. I can maybe see the argument for Wikipedia Tables, but all we're doing for Wikitable is redirecting people to a DAB page where there is one applicable link, and there's no expectation for a new applicable link to show up any time soon. What's the point of doing that, other than to avoid an XNR because XNRs are bad? Nobody searching Wikitable is going to be looking for any item on that DAB page other than Wikipedia:Tables, unless I'm missing something. Assuming I'm not missing something, there is zero benefit gained by routing us through mainspace to reach the only target someone searching Wikitable will want. I lean towards keeping over deleting per The Grid and because I think this XNR is a net positive (it doesn't show up in search results for a while, at least right now, so it's not going to be particularly obstructive). Wikipedia Tables I'm ambivalent about, and I don't really care much what happens to it – I can see the arguments for keeping, retargeting to Table, or deleting. • Delete all: the mainspace and the rest of WP should be kept separated. Veverve (talk) 21:58, 8 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep both Wikipedia Tables is literally a one character typo off from the intended target. While it is a substantial technical difference; choosing automated process ease and strict adherence to policy what appears to be disregard for newer user's experience is a set of reasoning which will have long term negate consequences for wikipedia. If appropriate mainspace retargets can be identified (and cross-namespace links placed if necessarry), that would be acceptable. I was leaning towards deleting Wikitable, but the creator made what I feel is a strong argument for its retention. Again, redirecting would be an acceptable alternative. I encourage an anchor be put at the relevant entry on the disambig. - Darker Dreams (talk) 05:59, 12 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete these cross-namespace redirects which are either errors, or are not required. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 19:12, 13 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak keep, strong oppose retargeting 1st, delete 2nd: Oh boy, how I love XNRs. Lacking guidance, I think the first is plausible enough with nowhere else to target. Strong oppose retargeting as this is the only mention. The 2nd one is miscapitalized and not plausible enough for a CNR. Clyde [trout needed] 23:26, 15 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Delete both per the closure at this related RfD. I don't think forgetting to type a colon is a good enough reason for a cross-namespace redirect. TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 01:56, 26 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
What colon is being "forgotten" in the string "wikitables"? Thryduulf (talk) 09:43, 26 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It sounds like they are stating the 2nd option listed. Wikipedia Tables → Wikipedia:TablesThe Grid (talk) 13:50, 27 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The rationale clearly makes sense in relation to "Wikipedia Tables" but they explicitly say their !vote (and thus implicitly the rationale) applies to both redirects. Thryduulf (talk) 14:15, 27 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Agree with Veverve on the separation of article space and meta. Retarget wikitable to Wiki#Editing which is also the target of Wiki table, and which has a hatnote to Help:Wikitext. Retarget Wikipedia Tables (since we don't have a proper cased Wikipedia table) to MediaWiki#Markup. No opinion on a hatnote there. Jay 💬 13:16, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Struck wikitable per Bsherr. On a cursory read, I thought the Wiki#Editing had content about tables, but apparently it is different. Delete wikitable, and if deleted, I can nominate wiki table next. Jay 💬 06:05, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
But this is a separation of article space and Wikipedia space. A redirect to Help:Wikitext#Tables seems to be beneficial if you really want to be specific. I really don't understand noting WP:XNR when looking at the time of creating the redirect in 2021, there's been 762 visits. There is definitely a valid use for the redirect. – The Grid (talk) 17:16, 17 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. I would have supported retargeting as Jay proposes, but the Wiki article doesn't have any content about markup for tables. --Bsherr (talk) 01:39, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

"Sikiru"Alimi is not an other name of the target article but rather a name for a different sportsperson (a footballer) whose article is not created. Article deleted in 2007 following WP:Articles for deletion/Chechclear. Redirect recreated in 2016, with attempted expansions by anon editors ever since. It's not currently mentioned in the target article, and there are no inbound links. In a WP:BEFORE search I can't see SIGCOV in RS, and there's little realistic prospect of an article that won't go right back to AFD on grounds of notability. Wikishovel (talk) 17:45, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep and protect - while it's not mentioned in the target, the name still shows up in online discussions as recently as this year, making it a valid search term for what is covered at the target.
