This redirect is too specific. It's like if we redirected Democracy to Representative democracy. Interstellarity (talk) 20:25, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget. I think it should be a set index article like Lists of online videos, or redirect there. It will make sense to have it be a list of lists because it will only grow over time, and future videos might push previous record holders of eras such as a decade off the list. Also, it might make sense to have a list of videos for the English speaking world, and then maybe even subsets of that, as I'm sure the future will just be a list of videos from India if not. These are just a couple of reasons to be a set index article. I would also be interested in hearing reasons to delete it. Louis Waweru  Talk  21:01, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Redirect to lists of online videos per Louis Waweru. This is too specific and using a set index article would resolve that issue. — Ⓜ️hawk10 (talk) 00:30, 2 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I understand the redirect, but I think "Black comedian" could equally refer to comedians who are black, but don't perform gallows humour. I think this should be deleted. QueenofBithynia (talk) 19:34, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. I don't think that is the meaning of black comedian. Louis Waweru  Talk  21:09, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

"đ" and "ð" are two different letters. The Vietnamese language uses the former one. ~~ lol1VNIO (talk • contribs) 13:47, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete: This is highly, highly implausible. The thorn (ð) makes a th sound whereas the Vietnamese đ isn't pronounced as such. TartarTorte 14:09, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per above --Lenticel (talk) 01:03, 2 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Đelete per nom and above. I get it, the characters look similar in their capital forms (and đ is a descendant of ð), but we don't need redirects of that sort when the letters are distinct enough from each other. Regarđs, SONIC678 01:38, 2 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was discussion moved to Talk:Obadiah Bartenura#Requested move 1 August 2022. (non-admin closure) Steel1943 (talk) 18:39, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This should be the name of the article, as it is the correct English/European name of the man. He was Italian after all. See both Jewish Encyclopedia (has him as "Bertinoro, Obadiah", and more than half of the current article is copy-pasted from there!), and Encyclopaedia Britannica ("Obadiah of Bertinoro"). The only other English source in the refs also uses "Obadiah of Bertinoro": Zinberg pp. 21, 22, 23, 201; for Hebrew alternative see p. 178 ("Ovadiyah Yare Me-Bartenura"), which in itself again proves that what we have now is neither nor. So either Obadiah of Bertinoro, or Hebrew, but then Ovadi(y)a(h) with a "v", and Bartenura - but on English Wiki, for the (Modern) Hebrew version a redirect is perfectly sufficient. What we have now is just an incorrect mix. Arminden (talk) 12:50, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: @Arminden: I'm confused about this nomination. You are saying that an article needs to be renamed, but I'm not sure which one. I'm assuming that you are saying Obadiah Bartenura needs to be renamed, but it's not clear where you want it moved. Could you further explain? Steel1943 (talk) 14:57, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Reply: @Steel1943: Sory, it's not as explicitly clear as I thought. Obadiah Bartenura is a non-name, a mix; the correct name for enWiki is Obadiah of Bertinoro, but that's blocked by this redirect. I thought I can fix it by renaming the redirect (to Obadiah Yareh of Bertinoro), but it didn't work, that's why I wrote this application. Pls remove this redirect to allow for the move of the article to its correct name. Voila. Cheers, Arminden (talk) 15:02, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Arminden I think this might be more of a Requested Move than a redirect. TartarTorte 15:18, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

In the discussion at WPM (permanent link ), there seems to be a consensus that there is nothing called Perelman's theorem with any consistency, so I suggest delete the Perelman's theorem. SilverMatsu (talk) 16:33, 11 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Geordie#Vocabulary. (non-admin closure) Steel1943 (talk) 05:57, 8 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The Transwiki: namespace on Wikibooks is roughly analagous to the draft namespace on Wikipedia so it makes no sense to redirect there. * Pppery * it has begun... 02:17, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget to Geordie#Vocabulary. This lemma seems to get a decent amount of traffic, so we should point it somewhere local instead of deleting it. 61.239.39.90 (talk) 03:36, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to Geordie#Vocabulary. Plausible search term and has had over 200 page views in the last month, according to statistics. Glades12 (talk) 06:43, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to Geordie#Vocabulary as a plausible search phrase. --Lenticel (talk) 01:04, 2 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'm not clear on what is being suggested by Pppery in this RFD. The current transwiki redirect is pointing to the entire original content of this article before it was moved. If the redirect is changed to point at a subsection of another article, the connection to all the content will be lost. That doesn't improve the encyclopedia. So I don't think anything should be changed here, unless it can be explained more clearly what the goal is. —Torchiest talkedits 03:18, 2 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The nominator didn't make a specific proposal either way, just identified something that was not ideal about the current situation, and opened it up for discussion. The general principle here is that search terms on Wikipedia, such as Geordie dialect words, should point to content within Wikipedia in preference to pointing to content on sister projects, and it turns out that Wikipedia has relevant content at Geordie#Vocabulary. Once the content at b:Transwiki:Geordie dialect words has been moved to Wikibooks mainspace, we can add a {{Wikibooks}} link at Geordie#Vocabulary pointing to it. 61.239.39.90 (talk) 01:18, 3 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
