Don't think I've ever seen these events described as the "George Floyd lootings". Searching "george floyd lootings" on Google brings up only 32 results, the top of which are from Quora, Reddit, and other user-generated forums. Redirect was created by User:Composemi, who has a made a fair few unnecessary redirects, though if they have a source that uses these terms to describe the protests it would be worth considering. I've tagged with {{R from non-neutral name}}. That's not an endorsement of the redirect, but a minimum requirement IMO if this is kept in any form. There's discussion of looting throughout, so a good-faith reader looking for information about looting associated with the protests could find this helpful. Keep. Redirects are not required to be neutral, and it aids in searching, per WP:RFD#KEEP. The exact phrase itself is relatively rare but is used (e.g. "Lana Del Ray Facing Backlash For Posting George Floyd Looting Video" and a topic tag on at least one news website), but the lootings associated with the protests are frequently mentioned in conjunction with protests (e.g. "Bellevue police arrest 23 in connection to George Floyd protest looting"). I don't think reasonable people will be confused Floyd was the looter, so long as the redirect goes to the chief protest article and not George Floyd. --Animalparty! It's unusual to describe something as "lootings", so I'm not sure how plausible a search term this actually is. It also got almost no hits till this RfD. That said, it's doing no more harm than any other non-neutral redirect, and unlike some such redirects at least is a term that an unbiased person might enter. There was looting, after all, even if it was vastly exaggerated by certain quarters of the newsmedia. However, with any non-neutral redirect we want to point readers to a place that will give them context for the term they've entered and why it is or isn't accurate, so I would suggest we refine to George Floyd protests § Violence and controversies. Delete - see WP:RNEUTRAL. Non-neutral redirects are allowed, and typically follow one of three forms, but they must be useful. This redirect has no purpose, does not follow one of the three forms listed in RNEUTRAL, and got virtually no hits until it was nominated for deletion. As the policy says "redirects that are not established terms and are unlikely to be useful, and therefore may be nominated for deletion" - this fits the bill. Is this inherently non-neutral? There were lootings during the George Floyd protests, and one might plausibly shorten "George Floyd protests lootings" to "George Floyd lootings". Deletion. Misspell of the name of a living person. It has no use, it can't be used in articles because it's inaccurate and few people will specifically search this person's name with a caron (that's how it's called) in the a in the search bar instead of just typing it with no diacritics, and even if they do, the redirect Marcel Glavan will lead them to the article. Keep. The two kinds of diacritic can easily be mistaken—I have bad eyesight and had to zoom in just to see the difference—and on a keyboard using a compose key or one with many international options it might not be obvious to someone which they've typed. I still doubt people will search this person's article with a caron instead of typing the name without diacritics out of laziness, and even if they do, the redirect Marcel Glavan will lead them to the article. I also don't think it matters if both letters are similar if one is just wrong, the Romanian language doesn't use ǎ, and I don't see how having both is actually helpful. I must also say that in around 3 years that I've been editing Romanian-related topics in Wikipedia, I've only seen ă being confused with ǎ around 3 times. I don't think there are keyboards with both letters, which could make confusion easy, although compose key are an exception. If this redirect is kept and we leave it for 30 days after the discussion, the redirect will have 0–2 views. Super Ψ Dro 08:49, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
If you're saying that it's only marginally useful, I agree. But marginally useful is still useful, and there's no real downside to keeping it. I generally search titles with diacritics if I know to, and can easily picture myself trying to figure out how to do a breve with my compose key and winding up with a caron instead. Keep. Why do we have Marcel Glavin? Presumably that's a plausible misspelling; I just tagged it as such.
- At 13:36, 6 October 2012 LABADIA moved page Marcel Glavan to Marcel Glǎvan (diacritics)
- At 21:11, 6 August 2021 Super Dromaeosaurus moved page Marcel Glǎvan to Marcel Glăvan (this is not romanian)
I think the fact this sat on the wrong diacritic for nearly 9 years makes this a plausible misspelling, so just tag it as such and be done with it. Sometimes I think supporting diacritics is more trouble than it's worth.

WP:R#CRD says if a redirect is reasonably old (or is the result of moving a page that has been there for quite some time), then it is possible that its deletion will break incoming links (such links coming from older revisions of Wikipedia pages, from edit summaries, from other Wikimedia projects or from elsewhere on the internet, do not show up in "What links here"). – wbm1058 (talk) 17:33, 14 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
