The result of the discussion was retarget to Craig Kieswetter. signed, Rosguill talk 02:52, 29 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Craig Kieswetter is the only person with this surname, everyone else has surname Kiesewetter. Therefore, Kieswetter should redirect to him in my opinion Joseph2302 (talk) 17:00, 14 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently a "meme" not mentioned at target. ~~~~

  • Delete While it is a line from a work in question we don’t need every line to be a redirect and I don’t believe being a meme that isn’t covered in the target article is enough of a justification for this one.--65.93.194.2 (talk) 21:59, 21 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete – Just because it exists, doesn't mean we must include it in our encyclopedia. Senator2029 ❮talk❯ 01:21, 28 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Saif[edit]

The result of the discussion was Move Saif (disambiguation) to Saif. bibliomaniac15 22:32, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The target has changed a few times recently. This is apparently an Arabic word for sword and the prior target Scimitar includes this definition: "saif in Arabic can refer to any Middle Eastern (or North African, South Asian) sword, straight or curved". The current target (Arab sword) also says the word means any sword, but is about a particular kind of Arabian sword - so perhaps not the best target. Another option is to handle this on the dab Saif (disambiguation) MB 02:43, 4 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Per Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2021 May 5#Wikidata redirects * Pppery * it has begun... 00:16, 21 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom and the discussion at Wikipedia talk:Criteria for speedy deletion/Archive 76#Redirects with database (e.g. Wikidata) identifiers – while the proposed new R5-criterion was opposed on the grounds of this being more curiosity than common occurrence, there's plenty consensus and precedent for these being generally useless. If I ever move any other new pages using this number as a disambiguator to a more useful title, I'll probably just R3 the resulting redirect myself. AngryHarpytalk 09:44, 21 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • I hope questions are appropriate here as I am confused. I have no concern with deleting this redirect, but I set up the redirect as it seemed odd to have a link to Elena Litchman (Q61767356) as that is clearly not her name. Who/how would be the best way to get the original link changed to just be to Elena Litchman? If someone points me in the correct direction, I can work on this but I am unclear as to where to start. Perhaps @Pppery: can help? DaffodilOcean (talk) 12:34, 21 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    • DaffodilOcean I'm not totally sure I fully understand your question (i.e., where did you see the link to her name with the wikidata number appear) but for what it's worth, I've just merged item Q61767356 into item Q107349014, which is the one that's currently connected to the article (see top right). Wikidata is mainly populated by bots, so duplicate creations of items like this are prone to happen sometimes. In the discussion I linked above there's talk of a bot [...] creating a list of missing articles with links that include a Q1234567 style number, so if you saw the link in such an automatically generated list of missing articles, assuming links of this kind are still being generated, the easiest way to handle this is to just ignore them in the future. Hope this was helpful. AngryHarpytalk 13:50, 21 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
      • Pppery Sorry I was not clear. The link to Elena Litchman (Q61767356) appears on the list of red links that is here: [1]. Hence, my question is really how to change the red link information. Thanks. DaffodilOcean (talk) 14:28, 21 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
        • I've clicked the "Update the list now" link on that page, and it no longer links to this redirect. But that's all irrelevant, because past consensuses have established that these redirects should not exist, even if they are being linked to by a bot-generated list. * Pppery * it has begun... 14:50, 21 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete: The Wikidata numbers aren't plausible search terms for these people. What we need to do is update the links in Wikidata-generated lists, rather than creating redirects with the Wikidata Q numbers. Joseph2302 (talk) 19:54, 21 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • OK, I understand we have to update the Wikidata-generated lists. However, I still do not understand how to do that. Joseph2302 - is there a place that describes that process? DaffodilOcean (talk) 21:30, 21 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • @DaffodilOcean: Look just under the red box at the top of the page, at the right. There's a link there called "Update the list now" if you click that a bot will update the list for you. 192.76.8.74 (talk) 22:10, 23 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
