Bowling Green massacre hoax[edit]

The result of the discussion was speedy deleted, WP:G7, by RickinBaltimore. -- Tavix (talk) 19:04, 4 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Serves no useful purpose, since anyone searching for this will already have had to type "Bowling Green massacre", and this isn't a term in any kind of use—even Conway's strongest detractors may accuse her of lying but don't accuse her of hoaxing.  ‑ Iridescent 22:51, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Also quite arguably a BLP violation. Newyorkbrad (talk) 23:42, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep, firstly, it is not a Bio of a living person. Second, it is a hoax because someone made it up on the fly. UpsandDowns1234 03:20, 4 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
    • BLP applies to content on any article that could reasonably have an impact on someone living (see the nutshell at the top of WP:BLP), which Kellyanne Conway certainly is. Hoaxing typically indicates deliberate intent to mislead, but this case seems have been a mistake which she quickly admitted to. ---- Patar knight - chat/contributions 04:52, 4 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. It seems plausible and might have been justifiable as {{R from non-neutral}}, but even hyperpartisan sources don't seem to use the term or even "Bowling Green" coupled with "hoax". ---- Patar knight - chat/contributions 04:52, 4 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ovechkin[edit]

The result of the discussion was withdrawn as unopposed. Already done with consent of the editor who originally SIA'ed it, so closing now. If anyone disagrees, feel free to re-open it, and leave a note on my talk page. -- Patar knight - chat/contributions 05:01, 4 April 2017 (UTC)(amended 14:06, 5 April 2017 (UTC))[reply]

This was converted from a redirect to Alexander Ovechkin to a surname SIA. Propose restoring the redirect to Alexander Ovechkin as the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC and moving the surname SIA to Ovechkin (surname). Page views overwhelming (1841:31) have the hockey player as the most sought-after article over the period the redirect was converted to a surname list. Based on long term significance, Ovechkin is one of the best hockey players of all time in one of Russia's biggest sporting disciplines. The only people with anywhere close to a comparable level in their fields are seem to be the two female athletes with Olympic medals, but they are not at that level and are not called Ovechkin (using the feminine patronymic instead). -- Patar knight - chat/contributions 21:58, 3 April 2017 (UTC)(edited 01:14, 4 April 2017 (UTC))[reply]

Not really sure what this means. Nominator has edited the R to add back the SIA text since nominating, had previously proposed it at AfD and edited it three other times today, so not really sure what is now being proposed, since te proposed target is the current target of the redirect.84.3.187.196 (talk) 23:00, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Amazonian build[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. -- Tavix (talk) 19:44, 11 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The phrase "Amazonian build" is not mentioned at the target article. It is unlikely that anyone searching for information on the shape of female bodies would use that as a search term. If people are searching for information on Amazons in Greek mythology, then Amazons would be a better target for the redirect, but that article doesn't discuss their body shape either. With this edit an IP attempted to convert the redirect into an article, but it cited no sources, provided no real information, and did not demonstrate notability. The same IP also left a message on the the talk page to the effect that Amazons might be a better target. However, neither article discusses this term. ~ ONUnicorn(Talk|Contribs)problem solving 20:21, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Comment And if they searched just for Amazonian, as I did, they would find a DAB with "Amazonian build, a female body shape" as the first entry (which could be rewritten "Amazonian build, a female body shape"). Perhaps this is a common misconception, but the Amazons are (or were) notable for their fights, not their figures... o tempora, o mores. Si Trew (talk) 20:30, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - This seems to be a somewhat vague concept in the first place, without a particularly sound target. I'd rather that we just get rid of the redirect. CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 09:12, 7 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This is a bit of a queer one. I kinda get it, it means "redirect to a section of homeschooling that discusses the educational philosophy of homeschooling", but that is not what we use (disambiguation) markers for. I've already tagged this as {{R from unnecessary disambiguation}}, but clicking through it via the Template:homeschooling navbox (where it is piped and so just appears as "school-at-home", which we have anyway) leads me to think it is actually rather confusing; how does "school-at-home" differ from "homeschooling"? Oh, it doesn't. Or rather, school-at-home redirects to the top of the article, whereas School-at-home (educational philosophy) redirects to the middle of it. That's, um... nonobvious. Christian homeschooling[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete. -- Tavix (talk) 19:35, 11 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Weak delete. The article only mentions "Christian" once, in the title of a work. While it is undoubtedly true that much formal education was and is provided by religious organisations, I am not sure that this is enough to merit a somewhat misleading redirect. When a redirect is this specific, one expects that the target would have information on how specifically Christian homeschooling differs from the general form. So it's perhaps a bit WP:RFD#D2 confusing. (It's not an R to section.) Si Trew (talk) 20:04, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Delete. This appears to be a neologism at best (no dictionary definitions in my few search results), and is not in the target. this google poll suggests that "homeschooler" is by far the more popular term. Si Trew (talk) 19:45, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Miss International Africa page was created as a redirect to Miss International, however the term is not searchable term since Miss International Africa does not exist. There is a minor pageant (not worthy to create a wiki article- not notable) Miss Africa International Pageant, but not connected at all to Miss International pageant. Therefore, Miss International Africa is not a valid search term. Richie Campbell (talk) 17:14, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Butterbar[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was disambiguate. I've created the dab page but am leaving to editor discretion any changes to the linked articles. On the dab page, I haven't included Peanut butter bar as it's a red link and I'm not sure that phrase can refer to the peanut butter Clark Bar. (non-admin closure) Uanfala (talk) 12:21, 12 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

"Butterbar" is apparently the nickname of the insignia for and by extension the rank of second lieutenant in the US Army, Air Force, and Marines. There is, however, no mention of this at Second lieutenant. It is mentioned at Ensign (rank) that it is also the nickname for that rank in the US Navy and Coast Guard. I would either retarget to Ensign (rank) or maybe make a disambiguation, since Ensign and Second lieutenant exist in different military branches. Cnilep (talk) 00:19, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Dab to the Ensign (rank), add Second lieutenant, add Dessert bar since the term is used in cooking. [2] [3] [4] There also seems to be a skin-care product, but not sure this is notable. [5] Add butter cookie, peanut butter bar, and butter stick as a See also. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:36, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Dab, since the Wiktionary entry does have some quotes clearly referring to lieutenants as attestations. I am looking for some other sources we can add to the 2LT article. Daniel Case (talk) 17:41, 4 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Addendum: And here's a source. Daniel Case (talk) 18:00, 4 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
