Is this eligible for WP:R3? (It's over a month old.) This redirect isn't even in proper CamelCase since the only capital letter is at the beginning of the redirect. Steel1943 (talk) 23:57, 30 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Unnecessary newly-created CamelCase-style redirect, considering that the target article's subject isn't even trademarked in CamelCase. Steel1943 (talk) 23:54, 30 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom. Game is not a Camel Case kind of title. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 02:29, 31 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Unnecessary newly-created CamelCase-style redirect. Steel1943 (talk) 23:47, 30 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. The only hits for this title as a single word are URLs, hashtags and filenames of non-notable images. All uses in content, even in official sources (which will stick to how the marketing presentation where possible) and character-limited environments like twitter give the name as two words. Delete per consensus at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2016 November 23#Goooogle. (This redirect may be eligible for WP:CSD#R3 or even WP:CSD#G4, but I'll let an admin make that call since those reasons could both be reasonably denied.) Steel1943 (talk) 23:45, 30 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Pinging Champion since they are the nominator of the linked discussion. Steel1943 (talk) 23:46, 30 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. I appreciate that I was in the minority in the previous discussion, but I still feel that this is a useful redirect. That being said, I do agree that it's G4 eligible and would not challenge a G4 deletion. -- Tavix (talk) 03:24, 31 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Speedy delete G4, any concerns may be raised @ DRV. - CHAMPION (talk) (contributions) (logs) 10:41, 31 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment This specific redirect wasn't mentioned in the previous discussion, so I'm not sure it's eligible for G4; moreover, it has exactly 10 Os, which may mean it's more plausible than other redirects of this type (since it matches Google's spelling for searches returning at least 10 pages of results). It has been deleted several times in the past, but never as the result of a RfD discussion. That said, most of the reasoning from the earlier discussion obviously does apply here as well; and as Champion noted, goooooooooogle.com (with 10 Os) is a non-Google site. Mario Sports: Super Stars[edit]

The result of the discussion was Withdrawn, default to "Retarget to Mario Sports Superstars". This close is a bit WP:IAR, but with Sergecross73's resolution, it resolves my concern and seemingly the discussion participants' concerns as well. Steel1943 (talk) 14:51, 5 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned at the target page, and not mentioned at List of Mario sports games neither. Steel1943 (talk) 23:36, 30 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment - It's a minor misspelling (should be Mario Sports Superstars) of an article I was going to create, but never did because someone else did at the correct spelling (which was redirected because they did such a terrible job of writing/sourcing it). I didn't know an article still didn't exist for it, or I would have made an article for it - it's easily notable and would be easy to do. So, it doesn't really matter what you do here - a notable article will be created soon at the correct name, and I could take it or leave it with this minor misspelling. Sergecross73 msg me 02:26, 31 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
You do not need to wait for this discussion to conclude before writing the article at Mario Sports Superstars, you can overwrite that page at any time. Thryduulf (talk) 21:26, 1 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • I know - I just won't have time to write up an article until the next week or so. Thanks for the note though. Sergecross73 msg me 06:01, 2 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Retarget to Super Mario Land, the previous target. Super Mario Land is the WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT target for this redirect, and the current target is a WP:SURPRISE, especially considering that Wikipedia is WP:NOTWIKIA. Steel1943 (talk) 23:34, 30 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was delete. --BDD (talk) 16:17, 12 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The target article is not clear on what titles in the series are considered the official 4th and 5th titles in the series. Also, there doesn't seem to be any information present in the target article about any future releases for the main "Ages of Empires" series, leaving readers who search these terms to find no information about these subjects in the target article. Steel1943 (talk) 23:00, 30 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Weak refine to Age of Empires#Games The numbering of this series does seem very confusing so it's plausible that people will think there have been games called 4 and 5 even though there hasn't. The timeline included at the top of the suggested target section is the best list we have of all the games (that I can find) so I think that's what will best serve people. Thryduulf (talk) 21:32, 1 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete, there have only been three official Age of Empire games, with the rest being either spin-offs or expansions. I haven't seen any discussion of a 4th game being released, so these are WP:CRYSTAL. -- Tavix (talk) 17:56, 10 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was delete. -- Tavix (talk) 17:57, 10 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Seems to be an in-game concept not mentioned in the target article. Delete per WP:NOTWIKIA. Steel1943 (talk) 22:54, 30 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom. These guys are unique faction units but are not otherwise relevant in or out of the AoE universe. --Lenticel (talk) 09:55, 31 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Just to clarify, the eagle warriors were quite real and not unique to Age of Empires. "Elite Eagle Warrior" seems to be an AoE creation, though. Really, Age of Empires II: The Conquerors would be the appropriate target, if anything, though "Elite" isn't mentioned there. --BDD (talk) 20:39, 3 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Bruce Campbell Shelley[edit]

The result of the discussion was keep. Deryck C. 18:09, 11 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Seems to be a WP:BLP issue since I'm not able to find any references that "Campbell" is part of the subject's name. That, and this is possibly some sort of joke since Bruce Campbell. (Note: This redirect formerly targeted Age of Empires, but the redirect seemed to refer to the subject the redirect currently targets.) Steel1943 (talk) 22:52, 30 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep Googling for "Bruce Campbell Shelley" finds lots of hits that are definitely about this person. This Engadget article is probably a reliable source (at least Engadget seems to be regarded as reliable in RSN discussions about other sources), which I will add to the article. The result of the discussion was delete. -- Tavix (talk) 23:36, 8 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Randa is not individually notable. Randa was a member of the duo Blank Blue. When this title redirected to Blank Blue, a redirect made sense. However, the duo is not notable; the other member, Nobody (producer), is, but it's a stretch to redirect from this title to there. —C.Fred (talk) 19:42, 30 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Cooked sliced ham[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was no consensus, default to delete as most plausible outcome given the comments here. Deryck C. 17:45, 10 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Delete as WP:RFD#D2 confusing, not at target. That's not too big a deal but the hatnote specifically says the article is about an uncooked leg of pork. Si Trew (talk) 18:30, 7 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Gammon (meat) seems to contradict itself, saying that the difference is that gammon needs to cooked before it is eaten, but then that gammon has already been cooked unlike ham. The ham article also mentions that the cooked meat is sold as ham in the U.S.; this is the same as in the UK, where the uncooked meat is usually sold as gammon.[1] There's a comment about this at Talk:Gammon, an a reply that says "gammon" isn't used for either in the U.S. This seems to be a difference in the use of the words in varieties of English, but where is cooked meat called gammon? Why should ham exclude cooked meat? Peter James (talk) 22:02, 8 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

References

  1. ^ Prince, Rose (8 July 2006). "Savvy shopper: ham". The Telegraph.
  • Not sure. One option would be retarget this to lunch meat, which mentions ham as a meat that is often sliced and served as at lunchtime. Another option would be to retarget to Jamón ("In English it refers to certain types of dry-cured ham from Spain.") I also wouldn't be terribly upset if this were deleted. I am also pinging Northamerica1000, who has some expertise in food topics. -- Notecardforfree (talk) 02:11, 13 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • It's a type of cooked meat (or lunch meat) but that article lists "ham"; the types of ham it usually refers to are mentioned at Ham but not at Lunch meat. This refers to ham, not gammon, it's just that the information is missing from the article. Peter James (talk) 21:34, 14 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'm striking my nomination delete since patently we should do something with it other than delete it... I'm not sure yet either. Si Trew (talk) 19:21, 17 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
hahah @Notecardforfree:, does your remark about Northamerica1000} having "some expertise in food topics" mean NA is just a glutton? Perhaps that can be the latest thing on a CV, "expert in food topics". For myself, I go one better, I just put "Expert". Works quite well. Have it on my passport too. 19:26, 17 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. I'm assuming the confusion is via an WP:ENGVAR. In the United states "cooked sliced ham" is still just ham. The target does discuss cooked ham, sliced ham, the difference between ham and gammon, and links to Gammon (meat) and lunch meat. I have a hard time imagining someone searching this and being confused or disappointed by where they are redirected. -- Tavix (talk) 23:46, 17 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose retarget to lunch meat. In UK, "luncheon meat", which redirects to lunch meat, is a synonym for (you're going to hate me for this, but it's true) Spam (food). Delete as WP:XY - is there a difference between "cooked sliced ham" and "sliced cooked ham"? IMO there is. Cooked sliced ham = bacon. Sliced cooked ham = ham sandwiches. Narky Blert (talk) 00:39, 18 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
This off getting off-topic, but "luncheon meat" is not a synonym for SPAM (food). As far as I am aware, "Spam" has not yet become a genericised trademark, so it only refers to the particular brand of luncheon meat made by the Hormel Foods Corporation. (I was asked just the other day what the —— it was, actually: of the "over 100 countries" it had reached by 2003, Hungary seems not to be one of them, although you can get it in the little British import store in Budapest.) Si Trew (talk) 13:11, 18 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Refine to Ham#Uses which covers the majority of what Tavix describes.— Godsy (TALKCONT) 05:15, 19 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete Non-idiomatic, by which I mean the phrase means nothing more than "ham" which has been "cooked" and "sliced". Both cooking and slicing are mentioned separately at Ham#Uses, but not together anyway. This is getting very few uses, and I'm not surprised. Who searches for something like this? --BDD (talk) 16:19, 29 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was No consensus. (non-admin closure) Steel1943 (talk) 18:29, 10 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure. The Basque for "Pamplona" is "Iruña" (or "Iruñea") but "Iroñeko" is not used at the target; it gets one hit every month or so. "Iruneko" (Eubot) gets none at all. While it's not that difficult to work out that adjectival form "Iroñeko" is derived from "Iruña" – or to add it to the article – I am not sure it makes sense to do so. (I've guessed this because all my search results are for compound nouns such as "Iruñeko Planetarioa", and am using "adjectival form" in a very loose sense.) I've tagged both as {{R from other language|eu}} and {{R from adjective}}, but I wonder whether we sould keep adjectival forms in foreign languages: we don't even encourage them in English (WP:NOUN), and for many languages there will be several syntactic forms of the same word (for differences in gender, case, and so on). I've left a note at Talk:Pamplona#Iruñeko referring back to here. Si Trew (talk) 12:36, 17 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Si, given the lack of interest, preference for what to do? --BDD (talk) 17:20, 28 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: It also refers to the Kingdom of Pamplona. There, it does have a mention, as "Iruñeko Erresuma". It seems to be synonymous with Pamplonese, which is currently red. I'm fine doing whatever we do with Pamplonese. At Pamplona, all mentions of "Pamplonese" refer to the Kingdom, but I would assume it would refer to the city as well. -- Tavix (talk) 16:18, 30 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep, solely due to the fact that Pamplona is an article on the city and not the kingdom. That's why there's hatnotes, right? I'm creating PamplonesePamplona now. -- Tavix (talk) 23:18, 8 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

(eubot), WP:RFD#D8, not a Germanic umlaut but a letter in the Icelandic alphabet. I've rcatted this,Sérsveit_ríkislögreglustjórans and Sersveit rikislogreglustjorans as {{R from full name}}. Si Trew (talk) 11:16, 17 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks User:Thryduulf, I had a Finno-Ugric moment with this one as I for some reason thought it was Finnish (I did check the article but somehow switched the two mentally, and tagged these as such before changing to putting them as just {{R from other name}} instead). It's worth getting the opinion of an Icelander anyway, for sure. Si Trew (talk) 11:46, 17 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Implausible and lacking affinity. It seems "bio" was meant to be an abbreviation of biography. This used to have content before it was moved to a better title, and that was eventually redirected to list of Star Wars characters. — Godsy (TALKCONT) 05:45, 30 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom. Could also be a biography of the band, so this isn't useful as a redirect since Bossk term already exists. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 18:17, 30 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see the connection. My guess is that it should be deleted per WP:FORRED. Steel1943 (talk) 01:02, 30 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
