Pet care?[edit]

Over at the Betta article, an external link was added to a care guide. Aside from it probably being spam, I thought I'd ask: is it appropriate to have care guides linked from a Wikipedia article (that isn't about pet care, but is about an animal commonly kept as a pet)? I would think no, but wanted, to use a cliche, consensus. IAmNitpicking (talk) 01:32, 20 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Inappropriate: see WP:NOTHOWTO. AndyTheGrump (talk) 01:57, 20 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I've removed the external link from the article as well as a similar one from Rainbow shark. In addition to NOTHOWTO, there's also WP:NOBLOG, which pretty much says that random blogs from non-notable people should not be external links. SkyWarrior 02:20, 20 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you (and @AndyTheGrump). IAmNitpicking (talk) 01:13, 21 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

i didnt exsacly violate the community guidelines![edit]

please give me back i didnt read the community guidelines KodBake (talk) 10:05, 20 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You are not currently WP:BLOCKED from editing and I can't see any article contributions either. More detail needed.--♦IanMacM♦ (talk to me) 10:13, 20 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe you violated them inexactly. Give what back to you? Or give you back to what? -- Hoary (talk) 10:15, 20 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I presume you are talking about your experience at Slovenian Wikipedia. You need to ask there, not here. English Wikipedia is a separate project, and probably nobody reading this has any knowledge or influence at sl Wikipedia. ColinFine (talk) 15:36, 20 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Aversion security[edit]

Hi would it be possible for me to become a part of Wikipedia community and have a sort of membership that would be used for aversion purpose. I believe that my younger version is actually detrimental to Wikipedia’s economic credit. Anidubey 91 (talk) 11:31, 20 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

hi @Anidubey 91 and welcome to the Help Desk! you are already a member of Wikipedia! what do you mean by "aversion purpose" and "my younger version"? do you mean that in the past, you did things that you regret that you want to have a clean start from? 💜 melecie talk - 11:49, 20 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Looking at the thread above, I am now wondering whether these are spam or sock edits.--♦IanMacM♦ (talk to me) 12:30, 20 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Good morning, could someone correct the title of the "Logspeed CZ Arena" page? The word "Arena" needs the acute accent ("é"). JackkBrown (talk) 13:17, 20 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This would be accomplished (perhaps by yourself) according to WP:Move, but retaining a redirect from the non-é title would be essential because many searchers cannot conveniently input accented characters.
However, the principle of WP:Article titles#Common name must be considered. This is the English Wikipedia – in English-language sources, is the name written most commonly with or without the accent? Article titles should not be made technically correct if this reduces the practical utility of the encyclopaedia. {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} 90.199.210.77 (talk) 13:37, 20 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
There is no source in the article - English or Czech - which gives the name. In fact the only source in the article (which I have just rescued from the Wayback machine) is a press release about a previous renaming of the stadium. I have tagged it with several tags, including probable non-notability. JackkBrown, I suspect that you have already spent more time on this article that it is worth, and I have gone and wasted even more. ColinFine (talk) 15:50, 20 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Joseph Ferris Perry House article[edit]

I submitted recently an article to be reviewed and published. How long does it take to do that? My login is bermudezsolutions.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards.

Draft:Joseph Ferris Perry House has not in fact been submitted. --Orange Mike | Talk 18:45, 20 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You have not submitted the draft for review. If you do so in its present state, I am confident that it will be declined, because it does not have any independent sources about the house. Please find at least three sources that meet the golden rule, or the draft has little chance of being accepted. ColinFine (talk) 18:47, 20 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Certainly, the draft needs work, such as removing trivia like "Radiators are in good working order." More references would be great. There is biographical information about Joseph Ferris Perry here. That being said, I think that there is a strong presumption that locations on the National Register of Historic Places are notable. Resources are available at Wikipedia:WikiProject National Register of Historic Places. Cullen328 (talk) 18:59, 20 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It's a copy of Draft:Joseph F. Perry House. Same author? Cabayi (talk) 09:39, 22 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

it was a misunderstanding, I apologize[edit]

I thought I violated the community guidelines but I didn't! I apologize KodBake (talk) 19:42, 20 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

As I said above, on English Wikipedia you have done nothing at all except apologise three times. The place where you have had material speedily deleted is on Slovenian Wikipedia, which is completely separate from English Wikipedia: that is where you should direct your apology. ColinFine (talk) 21:37, 20 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

How do I create hyperlinks Macalexx (talk) 22:42, 20 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

AAN doesn't work[edit]

I don't get {{aan}}'s navigation on User talk:Aaron Liu/Notifications 2, with or without the underscore in the prefix parameter. Aaron Liu (talk) 23:39, 20 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have added for the space per Template:Automatic archive navigator#Optional parameters.[1] PrimeHunter (talk) 00:03, 21 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oh my good lord I must have confused URL and HTML encoding. Thanks! Aaron Liu (talk) 00:05, 21 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
