August 20[edit]

KELT-20b[edit]

In the article KELT-20b, a starbox has been put that was meant to be called KELT-20, but it writes KELT-20b. How to solve this issue? 112.120.56.156 10:12, 20 August 2023 (UTC)
I think you need to add |name=KELT-20 to the Starbox begin template. Firefangledfeathers (talk / contribs) 02:45, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ref numbers 121 and 122 were OK but now are in the red. Please repair if you can. Im confused. Thank you. 175.38.42.62 (talk) 04:16, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Saying that they "were OK but now are in the red" is an oddly bland way of describing what happened. They turned red as the result of one or more edits within this set of edits that you made. There's a pattern: you screw up the syntax; you ask somebody, anybody, to fix the mistake. Unaccompanied by a question about how you could fix the syntax, or any sign that you intend to avoid such mistakes in the future. Does this seem right to you? -- Hoary (talk) 06:30, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Alert notification[edit]

I received an alert notification that said "Your edit on Claim to Fame (TV series) was reverted."

Funny thing is, the only edit I have made on that page was a minor one to the format which has NOT been reverted.

When I click on the alert, it shows that the edit was made by Special:Contributions/2600:6C50:5300:BE8:9D74:3560:DBD7:7998.

Can anybody explain why I have received this notification? Ozzieboy (talk) 04:36, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Ozzieboy: The notification means that somebody reverted the page to a state it had at some time before your edit. It doesn't imply they clicked undo on your specific edit. The page history [1] shows that after an edit by 2600:6C50:5300:BE8:9D74:3560:DBD7:7998, Magitroopa reverted to the revision before your edit. If an edit is tagged "Reverted" in the page history then it means the current revision is identical to a revision some time before the edit. Confusingly this means the tag can both appear and disappear depending on the latest edit. PrimeHunter (talk) 09:33, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Ozzieboy (talk) 10:29, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Wait, what? I thought the tag got attached to the edit if any later edit reverted to a previous version, yes, but then it stayed there forever (or until manually removed, which I seem to recall admins and maybe bots can do but haven't ever looked into). —Cryptic 20:18, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You may be right. PrimeHunter (talk) 16:15, 21 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Grave of Ivan Blavatskyi[edit]

Hello! Could one of you take a picture of Ivan Blavatskyi's grave at St. Mary's Ukrainian Cemetery in the Fox Chase suburb of Philadelphia? Thank you in advance! Максим Огородник (talk) 10:33, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry but that will not happen. This place is for questions about how to use or edit Wikipedia. Shantavira|feed me 19:12, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Максим Огородник: You could ask for help by adding the {{reqphoto}} template (with the proper parameters) to Talk:Ivan Blavatskyi. Hope this helps, and happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 20:36, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! Максим Огородник (talk) 08:33, 21 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Finding old insertion[edit]

Is there a way to find out who added the ibis sentence in this revision? WikiBlame isn't working that far back. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 11:16, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Someone keeps removing my info that's backed with scientific journals[edit]

https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Energy_medicine&action=history Can a moderator please comment? Thanks! Aquatic Ambiance (talk) 12:29, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

We don't have moderators here, we have administrators (I am one, for what it's worth, but I am INVOLVED so am acting in my capacity as a normal editor). You are edit warring to add fringe/pseudoscience into our articles based on in universe 'Journal of Energy Medicine' type sources. Self-revert or you will end up blocked. Girth Summit (blether) 12:33, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
What's wrong with the scientific journals I use? I don't see anything wrong with it at WP:MEDRS Aquatic Ambiance (talk) 12:37, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The place to discuss that is the article's talk page. I asked you more than once to self-revert and start a thread there, but you have so far refused to do so, and have instead reinstated your edit (which you know is contested). Again: the onus is on you to gain consensus for the addition. Girth Summit (blether) 12:42, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I already asked the same thing on 3 pages now but ok I'll ask it there too. Thanks Aquatic Ambiance (talk) 12:45, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Prevent unintended log out[edit]

Can you somehow add something to your common.js that makes the software ask if you truly want to log out. I often misclick which is a bit annoying. When you action=purge a page then the software asks if you want to purge, something like this would be perfect. Jonteemil (talk) 12:55, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Jonteemil: Wikipedia:User scripts/List#Site-wide shows to Confirm Logout scripts. PrimeHunter (talk) 14:20, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome, thanks! Jonteemil (talk) 14:25, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

User:Farzad Pak was WP:U5 deleted. While you can talk a bit about yourself on a user page, it is not a blog or social media profile or similar.--♦IanMacM♦ (talk to me) 13:17, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) The same obviously AI-generated text as above has been posted on the user's talkpage, and I have replied to them there, asking them to use their own words. (And I have deleted their self-promotional userpage.) Bishonen | tålk 13:20, 20 August 2023 (UTC).[reply]
Hi dear, My apologies or the inconvinience. I realized that my page is deleted. I spent weeks to realize hoe to create the wikipedia page with linking all the required links and proof references. I appreciate if you can activate my page Farzad Pak (talk) 13:39, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
User is getting support on the Teahouse and his User Page. @Farzad Pak please don't ask in multiple places as it wastes our time. Qcne (talk) 15:31, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
