X201,

I'm currently engaged in a discussion located here Talk:Grand_Theft_Auto_V#Developed_by_Rockstar_North_in_the_United_Kingdom that I think your opinion would be beneficial in helping to resolve. If you have some time, please stop by and add your input.

Thanks! --ChadH (talk) 00:04, 10 December 2012 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Cole Phelps - LA Noire 256x323.png)

Thanks for uploading File:Cole Phelps - LA Noire 256x323.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:07, 14 December 2012 (UTC)

Magazine request

Hi X201, I noticed that you had listed yourself as a contact for Edge magazine Issue 120 (Feb 2003) and I was wondering if you could help me get a copy of the two interviews with Jeff Minter (one covering Llamasoft and the other covering Unity). I'm hoping to expand the Jeff Miter article a bit. Thanks in advance, -Thibbs (talk) 16:08, 2 December 2012 (UTC)

If you can't provide these that's OK too, but please let me know one way or the other. Thanks. -Thibbs (talk) 13:30, 11 December 2012 (UTC)
I can do them for you. I currently have a lot of real world things that are eating into my spare time, university assignments, Christmas stuff, etc. Will do my best to get them sorted in the next week. - X201 (talk) 13:16, 12 December 2012 (UTC)
OK no worries, Take as much time as you need. And thank you. As long as I know something will come of it I'm happy to wait. -Thibbs (talk) 14:22, 12 December 2012 (UTC)
OK thanks again! I've got everything I need. And no worries about the time delay. -Thibbs (talk) 14:38, 20 January 2013 (UTC)

Before deleting sections from pages on wikipedia, ask the people why they posted them and then delete them! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.107.222.32 (talk) 08:48, 31 December 2012 (UTC)

I presume you are referring to the removal of the trivia from the Sonic CD article. It was removed because the Wikipedia Video games Project(WP:VG a group of Wikipedia editors who specialise in video game articles, decided as a group many years ago, that trivia like cheat codes should generally not be included in articles, see WP:GAMETRIVIA. The Wikipedia community as a whole have also decided that they don't want trivia in articles, see WP:TRIVIA. That is why it has been removed. - X201 (talk) 10:06, 31 December 2012 (UTC)

I can give fair examples of such trivia in other wikipedia video game articles. Are you kidding me?! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.107.222.32 (talk) 10:10, 31 December 2012 (UTC)

They shouldn't be there, there are nearly 60,000 video game articles, media files and other related pages to keep in order, just because someone has ignored the instructions to not add it on one article, doesn't mean that its OK to add it to another. If you don't believe me, or think I'm lying to you, feel free to ask WT:VG what their policy on Easter eggs, cheat codes, and trivia in general is. - X201 (talk) 10:55, 31 December 2012 (UTC)

Article: PlayStation 4

Why was not enough information? I included references, only missing detail it more and add more information, not a deletion (redirection) of the article.

It deserves its own article, before reversing it, ask your opinion. Good afternoon.--Alonduro (talk) 13:10, 4 February 2013 (UTC)

The WP:CRYSTAL policy is very clear about the subject "short articles that consist only of product announcement information are not appropriate. Until such time that more encyclopedic knowledge about the product can be verified, product announcements should be merged to a larger topic (such as an article about the creator(s), a series of products, or a previous product) if applicable. Speculation and rumor, even from reliable sources, are not appropriate encyclopedic content." - X201 (talk) 13:51, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
This is not speculation. I know that Wikipedia is not a crystal ball. In whatever way, I will not get into an edit war. I see that you are a member of the video game project. When you see fit to create the articles on PlayStation 4 and Xbox 720, send a message to coordinate the writing. Good afternoon, and thank you for the explanation.--Alonduro (talk) 14:01, 4 February 2013 (UTC)

Hi X201,

just want to thank you for fixing the appropriate dates. I was trying to cover and use as much enWiki styles, especially the 'VG release dates'. But just forgot to do so over my huge edits. Again, thanks in advance! Smartcom5 (Talk ?) 17:54, 9 February 2013 (UTC)

Mike Dailly

Please read Talk:Grand_Theft_Auto_(series)#Mike_Dailly to see why I had him removed from the article. There is no factual basis for this Mike Dailly working for them, other than that he says so. Any company profiles and history show that he worked for a different branch of the company, and had absolutely nothing to do with the Grand Theft Auto series. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.240.218.211 (talk) 14:51, 11 February 2013 (UTC)

News at One

Hi, re this edit, I don't think the IP edited with intention of vandalising the page. Could explain why you thought it was vandalism rather than a good faith edit? Thank you.--Chip123456 21:22, 21 February 2013 (UTC)

For years an IP user in the 74.x.x.x to 76.x.x.x range has been changing dates, date formatting and article contents on numerous UK TV news articles. They have been asked to stop by numerous editors, they never communicate. The BBC News at One programme is only broadcast on weekdays, it is a programme format as opposed to just a news bulletin that happens to be broadcast at 1 pm. The BBC news programme broadcast at 1pm on the News channel is news from the BBC at 1pm, but it is not the News at One programme.
What is the statute of limitations on good faith? because although the IP addresses are different, the Modus operandi is the same. I've had to create a list to keep track of their targets. Blocking them isn't an option, it would be a massive range block, and long term IP protection would probably be refused. So I'm stuck with having a watchlist with every UK TV news article in it, ready for their inevitable return. - X201 (talk) 09:03, 22 February 2013 (UTC)
PS - The "statute of limitations" line isn't a dig, I wrote it before I saw you were a legal bod :-) - X201 (talk) 09:10, 22 February 2013 (UTC)
Still, I'd just revert it and mention why - then post a notice on their talk page. No harm done, but just though I'd make you aware of it.--Chip123456 21:27, 23 February 2013 (UTC)

Guitar Hero Edge 10

Hiya! I noticed you added Guitar Hero to the list of games that've gotten a 10 in Edge, sourcing it to this article. It seemed a bit off to me though (I don't remember it happening), so did a bit of digging, and both Metacritic and Gamerankings both have Edge giving it 8/10. I'm pretty sure the linked Edge article is a misprint, but thought I'd give you my reasoning. Fin© 09:34, 5 June 2013 (UTC)

Game Maker vandalism

Well I see User:Jaymd 123 is at it again with readding the content to Game Maker literally copied verbatim from advertisements violating Wikipedia:COPYVIO. I have tried warning him again on his User_talk:Jaymd 123. I have also traced the IP address logged in before he registered that was making similar edits, it was Special:Contributions/86.177.1.229 and traces Edinburgh, UK and that is right near where YoYoGames the creator's of Game Maker are headquartered. Thank you for taking care of True Crime

I'd like to thank you for taking the burden of not letting Slepping Dogs as a game in the True Crime series. Some users (although I have a major suspicion it is always the same user) keep on adding Sleeping Dogs. I have told the user multiple times to.discuss about status of Sleeping Dogs in True crime but to no avail. I think it will be better to have the article permanently locked by admins so only registered users can edit it. As you have said Sleeping Dogs is ofcourse related to but not a part of True Crime video game series. Also Sleeping Dogs has a franchise of it's own now. KahnJohn27 (talk) 21:10, 22 June 2013 (UTC)

Kinect Sports style

While Rare is physically based in the UK, they're owned by an American company and their website is rareusa.com. Additionally, all other Rare games I checked (with the exception of the Kinect Sports franchise, due to its vigilant maintenance) use the mdy format over dmy. It would seem to me that the articles' national ties (and that of Rare's games themselves) are thus much closer to America and its style standards than Britain's, so I kindly request that you undo your revert on Kinect Sports Rivals. czar · · 15:31, 12 August 2013 (UTC)

The ownership of the company isn't an issue, (we would need to change all of Sony's external development companies in the US, UK and elsewhere if it was). Video game article's, just like books, follow the nationality of the author. Just because other articles about Rare's titles have been incorrectly created with US English/date format does not mean this article is incorrect or should be changed. The company's website is rare.co.uk, the rareusa.com website is actually the same website, the company page of the rareusa.com states "our custom-built rural HQ in the English Midlands.". Rare is a UK developer and therefore its articles should reflect this. I would be grateful if you do not revert my edits, however, should you still disagree with this, please open a discussion at WT:VG and ask the Wikipedia Video games project for its opinion. - X201 (talk) 15:50, 12 August 2013 (UTC)
Right, I'm contending that Rare is based in the UK but follows American conventions in their titles, and not suggesting that any major overhaul is necessary for other devs. I also wasn't planning on reverting anything more than once, which is why I brought it here. I thought this would be an easy agreement, but since it isn't and I lack the time to pursue this further, I have to leave it be with your change. I am no longer watching this page—whisperback if you'd like a response czar · · 16:28, 12 August 2013 (UTC)

Changing the capitals title to non-capitals

Hey sorry, we keep seeming to change each other's edits. Why do you keep changing the company name INEOS back to Ineos? Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.140.136.154 (talk) 12:20, 23 August 2013 (UTC)

Hello, Its because of Wikipedia's style guide for Trademarks and names (MOS:TM). It states that articles should "Follow standard English text formatting and capitalization rules, even if the trademark owner considers nonstandard formatting "official"" e.g. Ineos should be in lower case rather than using what appears to be the company's preferred style of INEOS. Hope this helps. Happy editing. - X201 (talk) 12:27, 23 August 2013 (UTC)

OK I see what you mean. But INEOS is more of an acronym rather than just a preferred title. Standing for INspec Ethylene Oxide and Specialities, as seen in the company's most recent magazine. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.140.136.154 (talk) 12:33, 23 August 2013 (UTC)

Editing of gta series

Hi,

I understand not to switch Chinatown Wars with The Ballad of Gay Tony, but you have to include the download platforms on the games section of the article. As it says on the wikipedia pages of GTA 3, GTA Vice City, GTA San Andreas, GTA Liberty City Stories, and GTA Vice City Stories, they are each avalible for PSN(Playstation Network) and GTA San Andreas is for both PSN and XBLM(Xbox Live Marketplace). So please keep the download platforms of the games on the games section of GTA Series. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.13.18.242 (talk) 00:00, 25 August 2013 (UTC)

Hello, thanks for discussing this. As the discuss relates to the appearance of the article I think its better if we continue the discussion there. I have added my reply there so that others who edit the article can comment as well. - X201 (talk) 07:59, 25 August 2013 (UTC)

Deletion discussion about Marketing for Grand Theft Auto V

Hello, X201,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Marketing for Grand Theft Auto V should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Marketing for Grand Theft Auto V .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Sega Genesis passed a GA review after an intense complete and total rewrite. Very late reply: I saw it, well done. It would have happened a whole lot sooner had some people on the talk page put the same effort into the article as they have into defending/trying to change the article name. One day I'll eventually get around to trawling all my copies of Mega and Sega Power for info to add to the article. - X201 (talk) 09:24, 6 November 2013 (UTC)
How many issues of those do you have? I can only imagine how many older Genesis games could be done with copies of MEGA around. Anyway, we're probably not too far off from an FAC; a few of us are still polishing up some of the things such as sales figures and details, and we'll probably be submitting it for featured status soon. Mega = All of them. Sega Power = I'll have to check I still have them - fairly certain that I do. If so, some of them should pre-date issue 1 of Mega. - X201 (talk) 08:59, 7 November 2013 (UTC)
Cool. Remind me to hit you up if I want to do some of those later on, or maybe for some collaboration projects ;) Right now I'm waiting on a pair of GA noms and my active project is Phantasy Star Online, so it may be a little while, but I'd love to do some old Genesis games. Especially some Sonic games. Speaking of which, we're rebuilding the Sega task force if you'd like to swing by for some collaboration in the future. X201, thanks for your hard work this year, you deserve wonderful holidays!

I wish you success and happiness in your endeavours for this coming year, and I hope we'll be able to carry on improving the wonderful project that is Wikipedia together! Keep rocking on! :)

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mystery: Curiosity and seek the truth

There was a bit of edit conflict there, I was intending to add Yahoo! Chess and Mystery: Curiosity and seek the truth to Video games/Deletion at the same time, as VG is one of the few delsorts that has to be done manually as it doesn't work with the tool. Thanks for clearing up the matter. ★☆ DUCKISJAMMMY☆★ 11:15, 6 January 2014 (UTC)

Game Axe Edge article

Hi! Could you please check Edge #104 issue (December 2001) for the Game Axe (AfD) entry? Is this by any chance in-depth or just a brief mention? Thanks. —  HELLKNOWZ  ▎TALK 14:10, 11 January 2014 (UTC)

Its minuscule, but has a few useful morsels. Have added them and ref to article. - X201 (talk) 16:42, 11 January 2014 (UTC)

Hey man, Left a response a few days ago about the Rockstar North / DMA Pages. Just making sure you were aware. thanks! Juno.808 (talk) 19:01, 19 January 2014 (UTC)

Edge 241

Hey—would you happen to have Edge 241 (June 2012)? I'm looking for the "full interview" with Fez's Bédard mentioned here and the issue's Fez preview. The reference library drops off after 2010, but I thought it'd be worth asking. Thanks! I am watching this page for the near future—no need to whisperback czar  16:38, 20 January 2014 (UTC)

Have got it. Give me a week. - X201 (talk) 09:12, 22 January 2014 (UTC)
Wonderful! Received. I appreciate it. czar  19:33, 22 January 2014 (UTC)

Is there a title or interviewer byline? czar  19:35, 22 January 2014 (UTC)

Title is Postscript. There is never a byline with any Edge article, its the magazine's ethos, so that authors can write what they like about games without there being any come back from publishers. - X201 (talk) 15:03, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
Interesting—didn't know that. Thanks! I am no longer watching this page—whisperback if you'd like a response czar  17:32, 23 January 2014 (UTC)

Rockstar North stuff again

Hello again, I've put up another couple things about the Rockstar North page split that I am proposing. Not trying to be annoying here I'm just trying to get to the bottom of this and get the most accurate representation of fact possible. Would be great for you to reply and perhaps point out where I am going wrong in my reasoning. thanks, look forward to hearing from you Juno.808 (talk) 19:36, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

Hello, I recently decided to clean up some old broken citations on this article. However, it appears someone directly related to the content has begun attempting to remove information, which I see you have directly been involved with the citation of. If you could please offer your input in the discussion Talk:GameMaker:_Studio#No_Game_Maker_decompiler_is_.22being_actively_developed_and_maintained.22, it would be appreciated. Forza Horizon sequel

Hi X201! I've noticed that you deleted the sequel section in the article Forza Horizon. I've added the sequel because there are rumours that the company Playground Games will be making a sequel. It's all over the internet, so I don't think this section needs to be deleted. Sadsam123 (talk) 20:57, 24 March 2014 (UTC)

Wikipedia does not contain rumour or speculation. There has been no announcement of a sequel, everything so far is based on guesswork about separate information. There is no reliable source that states a sequel is being made. Please feel free to contact the Wikipedia Video games Project at WT:VG if you would like a second opinion. - X201 (talk) 21:32, 24 March 2014 (UTC)

Mischief Makers

I'm looking for Edge reviews/previews of Mischief Makers circa September 1997. Might you be able to take a look in your collection? I imagine the mag would have reviewed it, but I haven't been able to find a citation online. czar  02:51, 10 May 2014 (UTC)

GTA5 sales

Recently I've seen you removed the sales figures that mentioned 33 million copies had been sold. You say that the 33 million figure is a "sold-in" figure i.e. "shipped" not sold to end users. However you know without proof you cannot say that. You should know that Microsoft said it had "shipped" 5 million XONEs while Sony "sold" 7 million PS4s. Companies make clear distinction when saying that the figure is about the shipped product or sold (sold as in sold to end user) product. You need to prove that the 33 million figure is shipped not sold. Without that you cannot remove it. KahnJohn27 (talk) 13:01, 14 May 2014 (UTC)

@KahnJohn27:Sold-in means the same as shipped. See the following. "Keep in mind that these numbers refer to games that are sold-in (to retailers) rather than units sold-through (to consumers)." and "Meanwhile, Microsoft announced that with Xbox One selling 311,000 units in March, the new console has passed 5 million units sold-in (shipped) to retail." - X201 (talk) 14:29, 14 May 2014 (UTC)
That IGN article about 32.5 million shipped is an old article which clearly says they are the shipped figures. This article on IGN clearly says sold not sold-in. The world sold-in has not been used anywhere in this article. You still haven't been able to prove yourself correct. KahnJohn27 (talk) 07:32, 15 May 2014 (UTC)
The IGN article uses the Take Two investor relations news release as its primary source. "In a conference call with investors today, Take-Two Interactive Software revealed ..." The Take Two primary source, stating that GTA V has "sold-in" 33 million is here. The IGN article also has an error that the author is having fixed after I pointed it out to him. I have proved myself correct. - X201 (talk) 08:05, 15 May 2014 (UTC)
Well impressive. I didn't know anything about that. You were correct after all. I am sorry it never crossed my mind if you were reverting the edit there must be a real reason behind it. I hope you don't mind since there's no way I could have known about it. Also thank you for your edit and contribution. KahnJohn27 (talk) 07:33, 19 May 2014 (UTC)
@KahnJohn27: No problem. Wikipedia (and indeed real life) needs people to question things that are going on. The "Sold-in" thing basically boils down to companies trying to be a bit sneaky, by changing the terminology; from 'shipped' which is pretty clear and a well known term, to 'sold-in' which could be easily confused for 'sold' - X201 (talk) 08:07, 19 May 2014 (UTC)

please dont bring up such an editor again on a discussion i brought up. this editor uses every chance he gets to harass me. and i rather not let that happen again. the fact that it wasn't necessary to point this editor out over navbox organization (anyone can do it, and everyone in WP:VG has) feels almost intentional. Quick question

WP:VG's Newsletter department is looking for editors to interview for our Featured Editor column, and your name has come up in discussions during the last several quarters as a likely candidate. The interview consists of some 15 questions that you can answer however you like and which you can tinker with up until the newsletter is published. Our hope is to have a small number of interviewees (~3) cued up for upcoming Featured Editor columns so your interview would most likely appear in the 4th Quarter (January 2015) issue. You can review previous interview questions here to get a sense of the kinds of questions you would be asked. If you would be willing to answer some questions, please let me know at my talk page. -Thibbs (talk) 13:34, 30 June 2014 (UTC)

Development of L.A. Noire

Hey X201. I've been working on an article for a little while over on my sandbox. It's about the development of L.A. Noire, and I feel like it's now complete. However, before I publish it, I just wanted to make sure that you're okay with it, seeing as you're the main contributor on the main L.A. Noire article. When the article's published, the Development section on the main article will have to be updated accordingly, but I can take care of that if you wish.

Please let me know if you have any concerns, and I'll be sure to try and address them. I don't want to suddenly jump in and burden you with this development article without warning, so I'd like your approval first. You don't even have to read the article, just let me know of anything you need. Thanks! -- Rhain1999 (talk to me) 10:55, 21 July 2014 (UTC)

@Rhain1999: Looks great. I'd come to the conclusion that to get L.A Noire to FA, the development section either needed shrinking and turning into an incomplete section, or hiving it off into its own article in order to do it justice. I've started looking to add to the research section with info about the crimes used as inspiration.(User:X201/sandbox#Dev) Thanks for giving me the heads up on this. I need to find the time to prep L.A Noire for FA one day. The Dev article looks great, hit the button and move it. - X201 (talk) 11:38, 21 July 2014 (UTC)

Rockstar Japan

Since you seem to have interest in Rockstar Games related topics, what are your thoughts on deleting/moving Rockstar Japan to defunct status? I've outlined my points on the Talk:Rockstar Games page. Thanks! Gamerzworld (talk) 16:04, 7 August 2014 (UTC)

Date formatting in Abyss Odyssey

Hey X201! It's been a long time!

I noticed that you recently did this this edit, where you changed the date formatting per author nationality. I'm a bit confused, the game was created by a Chilean developer but I'm not sure why that would have bearing on an article like Abyss Odyssey. I checked out WP:STRONGNAT but it didn't seem relevant to the article at all. I usually have the date formatted like that because I prefer to work with the dates like that... would you have any objection if I reverted your change to the article? Nomader (talk) 00:47, 9 August 2014 (UTC)

No problem with you changing it. I just think its more appropriate to have the article in the date format of the developer rather than US date format which has no relation to it. When I create an article I follow what MOS:TIES recommends for books, "use the engvar of the author", I can't see the point in putting a date format/engvar that isn't related to an article on it. - X201 (talk) 13:40, 9 August 2014 (UTC)

How you fix these errors? Try fixing the one of Capcom Platinum Hits Triple Pack, so I can watch. Thanks OccultZone (TalkContributionsLog) 11:53, 8 August 2014 (UTC)

@OccultZone: We're currently in the process of tidying up all of the video game infoboxes. About 4 years ago numerous outdated fields were removed from the Video Game Infobox. Even though the code for these fields may be in an article, the fields will no longer show. At the start there were 12,000 articles that contained non-working fields. In order to find which articles need cleaning, the Video Game infobox has been altered to make the articles with old fields appear in Category:Infobox video game with deprecated parameters. I've removed the three old fields that were in the Capcom article, so it has now been moved out of the category. There are 16 old fields in total, some articles have just one of them, some articles have all of them, but having just one is enough to make the article appear in the category. Hope this helps. - X201 (talk) 13:24, 8 August 2014 (UTC)

Can you name all those 16 fields? OccultZone (TalkContributionsLog) 17:19, 9 August 2014 (UTC)
Just to inform you, I had checked Template:Infobox_VG#Field_changes and I have started working on this category.[2] is probably my first edit. Although error still shows on pages like The Cameron Files: Secret at Loch Ness, which field is causing error? If you receive any updates you can let me know. Thanks OccultZone (TalkContributionsLog) 12:51, 10 August 2014 (UTC)
@OccultZone: We appreciate the help, but could you please stop. This is not just about removing the fields. There are other things tied into it as well. - X201 (talk) 14:20, 10 August 2014 (UTC)
That's why just did 100 for now. I had seen that there were some details but provided in article too. Keep updating, thanks. OccultZone (TalkContributionsLog) 14:29, 10 August 2014 (UTC)

A user keeps removing Infamous First Light from List of PlayStation 4 games. I don't know why. I've asked the user to justify the actions but they keep removing it. I've already reverted a bunch of times, violating 3RR if one would not consider this vandalism (although I do). I've reported them in Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring but no result yet 24 hours later. I see you've made various edits on the list so any assistance you could provided would be helpful. WhereAmI (talk) 20:52, 15 August 2014 (UTC)

User was blocked for 24 hours. If they try again after that time, do you know if I'd go back to Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring again? WhereAmI (talk) 22:25, 15 August 2014 (UTC)
The process basically resets itself. If they vandalise you revert, notify them pointing out its referenced (and that its a stand alone game - not DLC, which is where I think the problem may lie) then you notify the admins again, mentioning they've already been blocked for it. But above all, stay calm, there's plenty of time to fix it. - X201 (talk) 05:18, 16 August 2014 (UTC)

Mario RPG revert

You said people with sight problems would need the full description, and that is why its so long. Can you point to the policy that says this? As on other articles Wikipedia does not use such a lengthy description for screenshots. I would not mind of course changing it to be a bit longer. So that bowers keep would be included. But I think talking about all the buttons etc, is more then a little bit excessive and does not add anything, except sounding like a manual or a faq. NathanWubs (talk) 18:45, 18 August 2014 (UTC)

AWB reminder

Hi X201. I've noticed a lot of edits like this one on my watchlist this morning. Just as a reminder, the AWB rules of use are pretty specific about not making edits like that:

4. Do not make insignificant or inconsequential edits. An edit that has no noticeable effect on the rendered page is generally considered an insignificant edit. If in doubt, or if other editors object to edits on the basis of this rule, seek consensus at an appropriate venue before making further edits.

In general there is no benefit to adjusting whitespace within reference templates, and doing so with an automated or semi-automated tool unnecessarily clutters the watchlists of editors, which is why the AWB rules disallow it. Thanks, 28bytes (talk) 15:23, 11 September 2014 (UTC)

@28bytes:I generated the list of articles from the Database dump. It wasn't for cosmetic purposes, it was to help with the major cleanup of WP:VG articles that is currently on-going. A future phase of it will be to list fields that are incorrectly named, have been invented or any other info that is lurking in the article code that should be either on display or removed. The 90 edits were to help with the coding of the template when we get to that stage. With hindsight, I should have put a better explanation in the edit summary and either got the OK over at WP:AWB or tried to get it tied to another job. Sorry. - X201 (talk) 15:50, 11 September 2014 (UTC)
Thanks X201. 28bytes (talk) 16:10, 11 September 2014 (UTC)
