Bundled refs[edit]

In instances where text was supported by three or more citations, I bundled using {{efn}}s; this action has been undone in this edit by IceWelder. I am following guidance from WP:CITEBUNDLE and what is standardised across many articles (including FAs). I don't agree with your rationale, but if you have a better solution, I'm all ears. — CR4ZE (TC) 11:53, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

WP:CITEBUNDLE notably uses refs instead of efns, which alleviates the primary issue I raised, and proposes the use of {{Unbulleted list citebundle}} as means to generate a consistent format. Ideally, of course, the affected sentences would be restructured to avoid >3 sources in the first place. IceWelder [] 12:27, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

GTA V writers[edit]

The opening credits of GTA V credit Michael Unsworth under "Written by" but the ending credits have him under "Additional dialogue by". So which to follow? I think it's fine to combine both credits so long as the staff don't exceed the general limit of three people per field so it's okay to list Unsworth in the infobox since combined with Houser and Humphries it doesn't exceed 3 people. If GTA V already had three writers in addition to Unsworth then I think it's okay to omit him. -- Wrath X (talk) 10:32, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Subject: Request for Temporary Unlocking of User Editing on English Version GTAV Entry[edit]

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to request the temporary unlocking of user editing for the English version of the GTAV (Grand Theft Auto V) entry. As an active contributor to the Chinese version of the GTAV entry, I have identified several areas where valuable information is missing from the English counterpart.

I intend to enhance the English version by providing additional contents, includes "China Mainland and Australia's 'Ban and Boycott' of this Game" that are currently available in the Chinese version. This collaborative effort aims to ensure that users accessing the English entry receive comprehensive and up-to-date information about GTAV.

I understand the importance of maintaining the integrity of the content, and I assure you that my contributions will align with the established guidelines and policies. Granting temporary editing privileges will allow me to bridge the gap between the two language versions and contribute positively to the gaming community.

Thank you for considering my request. I am committed to fostering a collaborative and informative environment within the GTAV community. Hzt0208042508415531 tw (talk) 17:59, 20 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Hzt0208042508415531 tw, the GTA articles are edit protected because of the high level of vandalism. It's not up to me, but lifting the edit protection probably isn't a good idea. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 18:22, 20 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Expanding plot[edit]

Many crucial elements from the plot are missing, such as Michael and Trevor's exile, and the sentence claiming Franklin cuts off connection with the man he spares is not true. However, making these edits goes over the suggested limit of 700 words. I am suggesting that an exception be made for this page so the necessary information can be added. SavagePanda845 (talk) 07:48, 15 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If those elements are important, they can be included without exceeding 700 words. That being said, I fail to see the importance of Michael and Trevor's exile; even in this 1,200-word version, it reads like a minor and inconsequential part of the story. Thank you. My reasoning is that to me, knowledge is sacred, and I interpret Wikipedia to be a place where it can be satisfactorily obtained, not lacking due to a word limit that's put in place to meet someone's aesthetic standards. Regardless, I apologize if I got a little snippy in the edit summaries, I'm just very tired. SavagePanda845 (talk) 08:28, 15 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Right, "knowledge is sacred" might be sacred to you, but Wikipedia is not about WP:TRUTH. And we're talking about a plot description of a video game. This is still not an improvement: why are the instances of the word 'gangster' now changed to 'gangbanger', why are the heists (called so in-game) now called 'robberies', why use an unnecessary article before the word 'private military company' and why is the end of the story now 'his relationship with the other ceases or becomes strained', when there is no 'strained' relationship that the player is witness to? soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 13:03, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Regarding the last bit: I don't believe Franklin actually ceases contact with Michael in Option A, but their friendship is weakened, so this phrasing appears to be more accurate (though it's been a while since I've played the game so this is based on other wikis, etc.). I have similar concerns about the rest of the changes, though. Rhain (he/him) 13:34, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
On the "unnecessary article before the word 'private military company'": Leaving it out creates a false title. Although there is nothing inherently wrong with false titles, there is a whole essay about their pitfalls. I've grown accustomed to avoiding them, so I wouldn't consider that change a major downgrade. IceWelder [] 13:46, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
