The article 2023 Kericho car accident has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Wikipedia:Not News

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. A tag has been placed on 203 Kenyan car accident requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a recently created redirect from an implausible typo or misnomer, or other unlikely search term.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. BangJan1999 02:15, 1 July 2023 (UTC)

Killing of Nahel Merzouk: statement unsourced?

Does your source for this edit (the WaPo article) actually support the statement "In 2022, approximately 5 officers were indicted for the aforementioned shootings"? I don't see that said anywhere in the article. (I looked because I wondered how there could be uncertainty over the number.)  Card Zero  (talk) 13:18, 1 July 2023 (UTC)

Hey! Indeed, the article does mention this:

Deadly shootings are far less common in France than in the United States. In 2022, a record 13 deaths from police shootings occurred during traffic stops in France, and five police officers were indicted, Le Monde reported.

- WaPo article
It's below the ad(?) for a WaPo article on that ship that sunk near Greece a few weeks ago. - Knightoftheswords (Talk · Contribs) 14:52, 1 July 2023 (UTC)
Oh, so it does, I must be blind. But I still wonder at the "approximately".  Card Zero  (talk) 20:34, 1 July 2023 (UTC)

Hello, Knightoftheswords281. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Almeta Crawford High School".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. When you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 06:29, 7 July 2023 (UTC)

Signature length, July 2023

Further to previous communications on the matter (example), I have noticed that your current signature (as used in this edit), is 282 characters. This both exceeds the limit set by WP:SIGLEN by 27 characters, and is in breach of the comment left by Floquenbeam at 16:28, 31 March 2023 (UTC). --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 10:10, 8 July 2023 (UTC)

To be fair, KOTS appears to be a much more productive editor now than they were in March, so I don't think my "blocking as a timesink" comment applies anymore. It's more likely they lost count as they incrementally changed the signature over the course of a few months. I assume they will shorten it soon after logging back on. We still have deleting and salting the signature page as an option if I'm wrong, but there will likely be no need for that now. --Floquenbeam (talk) 15:40, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
Damn, y'all don't let up. On a serious note, I've shortened my signature, thanks for reminding me. — Knightoftheswords 16:09, 8 July 2023 (UTC)

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Titan submersible.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. 185.172.241.184 (talk) 13:38, 10 July 2023 (UTC)

File:Titan submersible.jpg

FYI, when using {{di-replaceable non-free use disputed}} to challenge a deletion, the template goes on the file description page, and not the file talk page. I've taken the liberty of converting your challenge to regular text on the talk page and adding a header. I've also made a note there showing that the original nominator acknowledged the discussions about the use of this image versus the CGI and withdrew the deletion template. Hopefully, this will prevent this situation occurring again. Cheers. -- Whpq (talk) 23:45, 10 July 2023 (UTC)

What's the Flag on your page?

I'm curious, do you know what the flag on your page represents? Rager7 (talk) 22:41, 17 June 2023 (UTC)

@Rager7 it's just a personal flag I made for myself a few years ago. The colors are simply my three favorite and it utilizes the nordic cross (I used Iceland's flag as a template). - Knightoftheswords281 (Talk · Contribs) 22:45, 17 June 2023 (UTC)
Ah, so it's a modified Iceland Flag. Rager7 (talk) 22:47, 17 June 2023 (UTC)

Nomination for deletion of Template:BLP Mainspace

Template:BLP Mainspace has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the entry on the Templates for discussion page. – Jonesey95 (talk) 19:28, 18 July 2023 (UTC)

An article you recently created, Disappearance of Carlee Russell, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Liz Read! I recreated this because the subject is notable. It could use more expansion in detail and sourcing, however.--Milowenthasspoken 14:47, 20 July 2023 (UTC)
