**The bot [[Special:Contributions/DYKUpdateBot|only performed three steps]] of the update. It did not issue any credits or update two files. I'll issue the article and user credits, but an admin will have to increment [[Template:Did you know/Queue/Next]] (it's currently <code>4</code>; it should be <code>5</code>) and replace the entire contents of [[Template:Did you know/Queue/4|Queue&nbsp;4]] with <code><nowiki>{{User:DYKUpdateBot/REMOVE THIS LINE}}</nowiki></code>. Revision as of 15:38, 22 July 2022

To report an error in content currently or imminently on the Main Page, use the appropriate section below.

  • Where is the error? An exact quotation of the text in question helps.
  • Offer a correction if possible.
  • References are helpful, especially when reporting an obscure factual or grammatical error.
  • Time zones. The Main Page runs on Coordinated Universal Time (UTC, currently 01:14 on 16 May 2024) and is not adjusted to your local time zone.
  • Can you resolve the problem yourself? If the error lies primarily in the content of an article linked from the Main Page, fix the problem there before reporting it here. Text on the Main Page generally defers to the articles with bolded links. Upcoming content on the Main Page is usually only protected from editing beginning 24 hours before its scheduled appearance. Before that period, you can be bold and fix any issues yourself.
  • Do not use {{edit fully-protected}} on this page, which will not get a faster response. It is unnecessary, because this page is not protected, and causes display problems, because this is not a talk page. (See the bottom of this revision for an example.)
  • No chit-chat. Lengthy discussions should be moved to a suitable location elsewhere, such as the talk page of the relevant article or project.
  • Respect other editors. Another user wrote the text you want changed, or reported an issue they see in something you wrote. Everyone's goal should be producing the best Main Page possible. The compressed time frame of the Main Page means sometimes action must be taken before there has been time for everyone to comment. Be civil to fellow users.
  • Reports are removed when resolved. Once an error has been addressed, determined not to be an error, or the item has rotated off the Main Page, the report will be removed from this page. Check the revision history for a record of any discussion or action taken; no archives are kept.

Current DYK

Per the MOS's guidelines regarding titles , the Chief Justice in "South African Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng" should be lower-case. Primergrey (talk) 01:13, 22 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I think it's OK because of how it's structured. If the wording were slightly different, it would be "South Africa's chief justice Mogoeng Mogoeng." But as is, it's correct. A comparison would be "United States Chief Justice John Roberts". But not "the United States Chief Justice John Roberts".— Maile (talk) 03:19, 22 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
An apt comparison would be "American chief justice John Roberts". This is an explicit example from the MOS "French king" but "King of France". The link is here. Primergrey (talk) 07:18, 22 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
His title is Chief Justice. The suggested change could be made, but it doesn't have to be. It's not inaccurate at present.  — Amakuru (talk) 08:56, 22 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Wrath Month has a deletion tag. Secretlondon (talk) 09:34, 22 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I've closed it as speedy keep per WP:SK#6. It can be renominated after the DYK run is over if necessary, although it didn't look like there was consensus to delete anyway.  — Amakuru (talk) 09:45, 22 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It really isn't a thing though so it arguably shouldn't exist. I've tried to make the article clearer. Secretlondon (talk) 09:53, 22 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, good spotting. 60th Academy Awards would confirm that, Ian Rose. I'll fix it. Schwede66 08:46, 22 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
