Suspected sockpuppets

WP:DUCK. As per WP:ANI#Block evasion by User:پارسا آملی, I am starting an SPI investigation to see what other socks and IPs are out there, and to see if a rangeblock is necessary. The sockmaster was initially temporarily blocked for sockpuppetry. He then used the noted IPs to evade the block, resulting in it being increased to an indef block. An SPI will allow us to confirm what other socks, if any, are out there. Singularity42 (talk) 19:30, 22 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Suspected sockpuppets

WP:DUCK. Sockmaster had history of creating copyvio articles, getting blocked, and then creating socks to evade the blocks. The new account Amardha is creating identical articles that were originally created by the sockmaster and then deleted as copyvios.

Mirasir has also re-created articles that were deleted by the sockmaster, which were subsequently edited by Amardha.

I will also be requesting a checkuser due to the multiple number of socks here.

(NOTE: Although not reflected in the archived case pages for this account, the sockmaster does have a history of socking. See Category:Wikipedia sockpuppets of پارسا آملی.) Singularity42 (talk) 14:37, 3 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think you are missing 1) Shekleh Shah (which was created by Mirasir) and Shekle Shah (which was created by Northiran, one of the master's confirmed socks) - both of which are identical to each other, and 2) Sayyid Mir Heydar Tomb (which was created by Mirasir) and Tower Tomb Sayyed Se Ton (which was created by Northiran) - both of which are identical to each other. Singularity42 (talk) 18:08, 3 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • I know Checkuser came back inconclusive for Mirasir, but given the behavioural evidence, should he or she also be blocked? Consider the following
  1. Created Sayyid Mir Heydar Tomb, an identical copy of Tower Tomb Sayyed Se Ton, created by Northiran, one of the master's confirmed socks.
  2. Created Shekleh Shah, an identical copy of Shekle Shah, created by Northiran, one of the master's socks. It was later recreated in an identical matter by Amardha, now confirmed as another sock.
  3. Created Moalagh Bridge, an article that relies on chnpress.com as an external link (which is currently down), which was the source of all of the other copyvios created by the confirmed socks.
  4. Edits exclusively on Amol architecture related subjects, just like the master and all of the master's socks.
Given the DUCK nature of the behavioural evidence, I think this account should also be blocked. Singularity42 (talk) 22:34, 3 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Clerk endorsed - but weakly. Both Master and Mirasir had minor edits to Amol County but not the same content. No other articles in common so inconclusive. One article from master to Amardha, Amol. Style of master isn't clearly duplicated by alleged socks but not ruled out either. There is one common deleted article in deleted contribs by both master and Amardha, Davazdah Cheshmeh and one more with unlisted sock User:Northiran and Armardha, Malek Bahman Castle. Mirasir has no deleted contribs. Amardha is reasonably possible, Mirasir is less likely. Endorsing because of Amardha. Dennis Brown - © 17:27, 3 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Amardha indef-blocked for repeated copyvio despite warnings, quite apart from any socking issues; but as one of his repeatedly-created copyvios was Davazdah Cheshmeh which was also created by the sockmaster, I think he is quite DUCKy. JohnCD (talk) 21:53, 3 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
 Inconclusive for Mirasir due to his exclusive use of open proxies. Amardha is a very  Likely match to previous, DUCK-blocked socks of پارسا آملی. AGK [•] 22:02, 3 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Not enough evidence to block Mirasir at this time. Perhaps after more edits, a better comparison could be made. Dennis Brown - © 22:41, 3 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Immediately after the most recent sock was blocked, the master edited from the above IP address (which is within the range of IPs they have previously socked from) to re-add content that was originally added by the sock([1], [2], [3]) and then removed by other editors ([4], [5]). Suspected sockpuppets

This is a second request for a review to determine if Mirasir is a sock of this master (please see archive for previous report). It was determined at the previous SPI case that due to proxies, Mirasir could not be confirmed using a Checkuser. The initial reviewing admin was not sure if there was enough behavioural evidence to determine if Mirasir was a sock. The same admin changed his mind due to another sock linking Mirasir and the master, but no action was taken against Mirasir.

Mirasir is pretty inactive these days. However, there is an ongoing AfD related to an article Mirasir created. If Mirasir is a sock of the master, that will have a very big impact due to the master having a history of copyvio problems, as well as possible application of WP:G5.

Here is the behavioural evidence:

  1. Northiran, a confirmed sock, created Tower Tomb Sayyed Se Ton, which was deleted. Mirasir re-created the article under a different name at Sayyid Mir Heydar Tomb.
  2. Northiran, a confirmed sock, created Shekle Shah, which was later deleted. Mirasir re-created the article under a different name, Shekleh Shah, which was deleted. Amardha, a confirmed sock, re-created the article again under Shekleh Shah
  3. Moalagh Bridge, the article created by Mirasir which is currently up for AfD, used chnpress.com (a website that is currently down) as its primary source. This is part of the pattern of the sockmaster and his socks.
  4. Edits exclusively on Amol-related architecture articles, which is part of the pattern of the sockmaster and his socks.
  5. 80.191.253.165, a confirmed IP of the sockmaster, removed the AfD notice from Moalagh Bridge. The master has a pattern of using socks and IPs to remove AfD notices from articles created by other socks (see some of the warnings at User talk:Northiran, User talk:80.191.253.184, User talk:80.191.253.189). I'm not 100% sure about the 3rd and 4th usernames but the first 2 surely belong to him. and he probably has much more accounts you have to find. and all of these usernames have interest in articles related to city of Amol and Volleyball. this user also has an history in WikiFarsi, this is the list of accounts he had and you can find this Asianleag username there too. I think it's obvious for this one.

but for the first username (and the main one) I had to search a lot to be sure. I found the same username in wikicommons here and if you see he has exactly the same behavior like this user Ir92, I reported him in wikicommons too and they deleted most of his files but if you check both usernames talk pages here and here you can see he is uploading files for players of volleyball team Kalleh Mazandaran VC. it's obvious both of these accounts belong to one person and also you can see this user name Ir92 in this list. I think it's obvious he is the same person. I have more evidences but I think it's already enough and long. but I can provide them if necessary. Mohsen1248 (talk) 00:45, 20 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

JFI, he is writing in Fingilish, online translators can't translate it because it's not a real language. I can understand it and they are all personal attacks and he is threatening to create more accounts. and he says he will not stop. and if you want more evidences, there is a blocked account with the same username in wikicommons and for Edlatd, this account created a page Arash Keshavarzi I nominated for speedy deletion, as well as this page Mojtaba Mirzajanpour created by User:Luispedros and one IP user (belonged to him) removed both templates at the same time.  Clerk note: I came to this via WP:AN3 in a report filed against Turdunamaki. Frankly, being unfamiliar with this master, I would have preferred more evidence from Mohsen1248, but after some digging I found some behavioral evidence that linked Turdunamaki with User:Luispedros, a known puppet. If you look at User talk:Turdunamaki, you'll see that he responds frequently in what purports to be a foreign language. The odd thing is that if you run the material through Google translate, (a) it comes up with a different detected language each time and (b) it can't translate it. Although I can't prove it, that leads me to believe it's gibberish. Now take a look at User talk:Luispedros. In response to an ANI notice, he responded "chera englisi harf mizani amu etelate ghalatam hey nade be mardum mard bash". Google translate came up with a detected language (Igbo), which is not any of the detected languages for Turdunamaki's comments, and then, with the exception of a couple of words, couldn't translate it. As for the other two reigstered accounts listed above, neither has many contributions. However, in one of Edlatd's edits, he "corrected" the spelling of a name that other puppets have corrected. I didn't see anything for the other account. Although I've already blocked Turdunamaki based on duck, I think there's enough for a CU.--Bbb23 (talk) 02:20, 24 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Clearly the same person as I know his behavior, but you can compare this edit and this one and that section about Kit manufacturer and Sponsor are exactly the same. as he has an interest of adding unreferenced information. beside that he has an account with the same name in Persian wikipedia and confirms he is the same person here in his talk page, even though it's in Persian but I just added it as another evidence. • @Vanjagenije: If you check the archive we had exactly the same discussion 2 weeks ago ! He had so many accounts I can't remember which one created which article. Do I have to list these articles ? You simply can check his edit summary, almost all of these articles were created before by his other accounts, and btw you can check the edit summary and the timing, most of these articles were created in a period of one hour on 10 August. I reported sock accounts of this user so many times before and I know his behavior quite well, I'm not sure about this one but his behavior is quite similar, first what he wrote in my talk page is similar to his style, aggressive and not polite. (you can't read it though, not in English) and creating tones of articles only after 1-2 days of making a new account is quite similar to his other socks. even though I'm not completely sure this time but I think this is probably another sock account. As someone who follows this user I know him and his edits, I can't write all my proofs here since he will create more accounts in future but for the start, most of his socks were interested in Kalleh Mazandaran VC which he probably is a member of. now he crated Solico Group and Kalleh Dairy, one is already deleted for Unambiguous advertising or promotion, beside that his username is a bit similar to his other sock accounts you can see he use the thing "IR" in his other socks as well. 05 November 2016[edit]

Suspected sockpuppets[edit]

I was going to start a SPI for Jkouhyar as a probable sock of Irbox, who is already blocked indefinitely for copyright violations, when I started looking back at their contributions and saw some patterns that match this sockmaster's previous socks.

Copyvios and a refusal to accept Wikipedia policies around copyrighted text have been a recurring problem with these sock accounts, and both the current suspected socks have displayed that behaviour (see their current blocks, indef for Irbox and temporary for Jkouhyar). Since Iran has no copyright laws, or at least nothing that is similar to copyright laws in the US, there is a real obstacle to understanding and that needs to be bridged, but there is a limit to what we can do when a user simply refuses to listen... Looking more closely at Irbox, they have created articles previously created by User:Irmovies, a previously blocked sock of پارسا آملی, e.g. Kianoush Ayari and A Few Kilos of Dates for a Funeral. Jkouhyar has created The Blue-Veiled which was previously created by another sock, User:Mattewina.

The links between Jkouhyar and Irbox seem rather clear: compare talk page comments such as this and this from Irbox, with this and this from Jkouhyar, where there are distinct similarities beyond the fact that both accounts are clearly non-native speakers of English - also note similarities to e.g. these comments by an earlier sockpuppet. Edit warring and addition of unsourced content are also part of the behavioural pattern of both accounts (edit warring warnings can be seen on both talk pages, and Jkouhyar was briefly blocked for violating 3RR).

I can provide more diffs showing similarities between the accounts if necessary, but I don't want to turn this into a wall of text. bonadea contributions talk 20:13, 5 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

1- Why his page was deleted before? What is illegal about it?

2- My name is Mobin and I'm not a suckpuppet!

3- I edit "same topic area of Iranian film" because cinema and especially my nation's cinema is one of my interests.

Thanks to Katie's (patrolling admin) comment about different UAs and operating systems I don't need to answer those false conspiracy theory sockpuppet claims.

Dear Vanjagenije, I have question for you. If a page was deleted before on Wikipedia, then no one has the right to create that page again in the future and anyone who creates the same page is a sockpuppet?

To answer "the user was never notified of this" I have to say anytime a user mentions my name, Wikipedia notifies me and as long as this investigation has been started on December 24th I have to check this page everyday to defend myself against those false claims. It may seem unnecessary to report an IP as a sockpuppet ten days after they edited, but the IP created two drafts and submitted them to AfC, and those should be deleted per G5 rather than be allowed to take up reviwer time. One draft is Draft:Arsalan Ghasemi, which had been created by blocked sock User:Erfan Valizade Shiran. Arsalan Ghasemi has also been deleted per G5 as created by a sock of پارسا آملی, but I can't see who the creator was. The other draft is Draft:Ali Sadeghi, which has also been edited by CU-blocked User:Taha Forghani 1080 and User:Heydar moradi. Suspected sockpuppets[edit]

Focus on Iranian actors and volleyball/football players. Their first edit was this, cf previous sock edits [8], [9].

They have been very much concerned with creating an article about the actor Tina Akhondtabar, which several previous پارسا آملی socks have also created (see logs for Tina Akhound-Tabar and Tina akhoondtabar, as well as Draft:Tina_Akhoondtabar). Sogand Kamranii's draft is currently at Draft:Tina_Akhondtabar. It is not terribly difficult to see stylistic similarities in e.g. these posts by old socks: [10], [11], and these posts by Sogand Kamranii: [12], [13].

Another characteristic behaviour is seen here, cf edits by socks [14], [15]. bonadea contributions talk 09:47, 23 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Chamroshduty is from Mazandaran, as he openly claimed here [24]. Pretty sure he claimed to be from the Mazandarani city of Amol on one of his other socks, though I can't currently find it. Amardions' name is literally a variant of the name "Amardi", the ancestor of the word "Amol". Amardions also openly said that he was from Mazandaran "I was born in Mazandaran"

And for the identical extremely bad behaviour of the two parties. There are A LOT of diffs to go by, so I'll make it short unless u want more;

Chamroshduty was notorious for being extremely nasty towards other issues, which was reported to WP:ANI [25] and ended in his block. Amongst the things he accused me of, was "distorting" stuff;

Amardions' also accuses me of "distorting" stuff. For some reason he is incredibly hostile towards me, a stranger;

@Bbb23: I can see that one of Chamroshduty's suspected socks was moved [26] to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/پارسا آملی. Could this brand new user perhaps be related to this one instead? If you Ctrl + F the words "distort" and "Amol" in the SPI archive of پارسا آملی, they both appear. --HistoryofIran (talk) 17:07, 4 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

EDIT: Bbb23 Sure, I'll include the already mentioned stuff here as well;

  1. پارسا آملی having a sock with the extremely similar name of User:Amardian.
  2. Both accuses me of "distorting" stuff (پارسا آملی [27]) (Amardions [28])
  3. Both likes to talk about the "truth" (WP:RIGHTGREATWRONGS) (پارسا آملی [29]) (Amardions [30])
  4. Both calls the Wikipedia guidelines (?) the "law" (پارسا آملی [31]) (Amardions [32])
  5. Both cries wolf by randomly claiming they have been "insulted" (پارسا آملی [33] [34]) (Amardions [35] [36])
  6. [37] They both have edited Ali ibn Sahl Rabban al-Tabari, Haydar Amuli and Bagher Larijani. Not the most popular articles to say the least, all of them also being from Mazandaran, two out of three being from Amol.
  7. They're obsessed with making edits related to Amol; (Amardions [38] [39] [40] [41]) / (پارسا آملی [42] [43] [44] [45]) --HistoryofIran (talk) 18:16, 4 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

There are a lot of socks in this case, but every one I looked at, including the master, uses the mobile web platform and the visual editor. Amardions users neither.--Bbb23 (talk) 16:48, 4 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@HistoryofIran: Yes, it's possible, but I'm not going to hang my hat just on the use of the word "distort". Could you provide some comparison diffs between Amardions and the socks in that case? That would help. While I'm here, though, I would note a username similarity between Amardions and sock Amardian.--Bbb23 (talk) 17:32, 4 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
