The result of the discussion was keep. Complex/Rational 01:29, 18 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Delete. It's a weird cross-namespace redirect and fake article page, for what's actually a rather notable song, one of the three or four most famous songs from the opera that was quoted by the Zodiac Killer. The redirect links to a Wikisource disambiguation. Discovered it when cleaning up links on The Mikado and adding likely redlinks, to discover this previously unlinked not-quite-redirect Adam Cuerden (talk)Has about 8.5% of all FPs. 23:47, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. This is normal when we don't have an article on a topic that's covered on another project; see Template:Wikisource redirect and comparable templates for other projects. If you want to write an article, just overwrite it. Nyttend (talk) 05:47, 11 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. This is a perfectly normal soft redirect. Per Nyttend, please feel free to overwrite this with an article if you believe it's notable. Thryduulf (talk) 10:57, 11 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:50,000 could mean Wikipedia:The 50,000 Challenge, or it could mean Wikipedia:The 50,000 Destubbing Challenge. There are zero inbound links, and I'm not sure what if any guidance there is about dabpages in projectspace, and I've never filed an RfD before. Apologies if MfD would have been a better venue. Folly Mox (talk) 22:58, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Disambig per nom. RfD is the correct venue for this discussion and there is no prohibition on dab pages in project space (e.g. WP:ASK is one). I personally generally disfavour them as they mean the shortcut is less useful for everybody, but in this case with no incomming links, essentially no views and two equally likely targets disambiguation does seem best. Proposing deletion - album is not mentioned here or at From the River to the Sea (see also requested move for that article). GnocchiFan (talk) 21:34, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. An article about an album was created at this title, but it was ultimately deleted at AfD (see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/From the River to the Sea) so there is no requirement to keep anything for attribution purposes, and with no albums by this or similar names covered elsewhere that I can find there is no utility in the redirect. • Delete as wrong. This looks like it should be a technical parameter, about the available draft needed to move a ship, as the Bernouilli effect can suck a ship to the riverbed, needed more available draft than the draft of a ship and a margin -- 65.92.244.127 (talk) 03:48, 11 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

There are multiple libraries with the designated name of "National and University Library", as well as "National University Library". While variations of these titles are included at the target article, it is never completely described as such. Utopes (talk / cont) 06:40, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Disambig. I've drafted one below the redirect at National and University Library, but there may be more entries I didn't spot in a 2 minute search. Thryduulf (talk) 16:03, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    • Nom comment: While a disambiguation seems to be immensely helpful at this location, I wanted to ask the hypothetical question about whether both of these titles should be disambiguated in one place. In other words, does the existence of the word "and" in the title change the possibilities of targets? As an example, the Turin and Australia libraries do not include the word "and" in the libraries' names, but the rest do. Utopes (talk / cont) 20:15, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It is always a judgement all whether to disambiguate similar terms together or separately, WP:DABCOMBINE gives some examples of things that are often combined but it is only a guide and not exhaustive. Some considerations are length, overlap, duplication and significance of the difference. In this case the combined list is only 8 entries long, which is not excessive, and one of the split lists would have just two entries which is very short. As split disambigs would have most of the same see also entries, there would be quite a bit of duplication which is generally undesirable. Finally the difference between the terms is only minor - the presence or absence of an "and" is something that makes little to no difference here and so splitting would make things less convenient for someone who doesn't quite remember the name of what they are looking for and for those who want a list. So while in this case a single page is better all round, that isn't always going to be the case. Thryduulf (talk) 09:33, 4 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Seemingly a fan terminology for some books which is not mentioned at the target page. Utopes (talk / cont) 05:40, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I was wondering the reason why this would not be categorised as a valid redirect. It is a community supported term and as such likely to be searched. Further, unlike other links in this page (such as "Matty" to "Matty Healy") it is not ambiguous, nor does it clash with any other potential article.

The result of the discussion was retarget to Word-sense disambiguation. Hey man im josh (talk) 12:27, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Unnecessary cross-namespace-redirect. The current template gets the job done just fine, and will not be a likely search term for people expecting to end up in Template-space, from my point of view. Utopes (talk / cont) 08:27, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Weak retarget to Word-sense disambiguation (as an avoided double redirect of Disambiguation) or Disambiguation (disambiguation). Ideally this would be blue link to something in article space, but I've not found anything great. Distinguish redirects to Distinguishing, which is about a legal term that is very unlikely to be what someone using this term is looking for. Confused redirects to Confusion, which is about the use of the term in medicine and while less unlikely than the legal term is still not great, and the only other thing at Confusion (disambiguation) (which also covers uses of "Confused") that struck me as potentially relevant was Confusing similarity, but again this is actually about specific legal terminology that isn't likely relevant. Disambiguation is the meaning used where someone sees this phrase on Wikipedia, but that's a redirect to Word-sense disambiguation which is only half right. It does have hatnotes to Disambiguation (disambiguation) (which must be a contender for the project's best-named page) and Wikipedia:Disambiguation, the dab page has the same link to Wikipedia project space (which will aid anyone who is trying to find the template, albeit indirectly) and to Ambiguity which may be relevant but doesn't contain any links back to the disambig or to project space (nor do I think the latter is warranted) and is more about being confused than not being confused. While the current target is Hide and Seek, (which is the song that Jason Derulo samples from in his song Whatcha Say), I feel that the Jason Derulo song may more slightly be the primary topic here. To this end, I think that this title could be interpreted more often than not as an alternate name for Jason Derulo's song, moreso than what it would be for Hide and Seek, as the former is a near title-match for this redirect. Searching this on Google, at least for me, returns almost exclusively Jason Derulo related topics.

The article for Whatcha Say links back to the Imogen Heap song in the third sentence, which helps with ease of navigation between these two titles (as I'd expect people who click on one would be likely to also click on the other). Utopes (talk / cont) 07:53, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete how would someone even spell 'mmm' consistently? Searching lyrics like this is best left for search engines, not redirects. โ€• Synpath 18:54, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
For what it's worth, I do think the 3 "M"s in "Mmm" is the most regular / standard way of righting it. Hmm and Mmm are usually three letter words, unless someone is purportedly exaggerating Ms for effect... hmmmmmmmmm... Utopes (talk / cont) 09:13, 12 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak delete per Synpath. Useless because of the "Mmm" part, which can be spelled as Mmm, Hmm, humm, etc. Though I wouldn't vehemently oppose a retarget to Whatcha Say. CycloneYoris talk! 08:09, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Abandonment (legal)#Abandonment of property. Hey man im josh (talk) 12:41, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think this emoji is necessarily a plausible term referring to "urban decay". The graphic depicts one house that is emptied, not an entire city. To this end, I would suggest that this is retargeted to Miscellaneous Symbols and Pictographs where it is depicted.

Interestingly enough, the base-codepoint counterpart to this emoji, being ๐Ÿš, is already a redirect here, making it a separate entity to this discussion for this redirect: ๐Ÿš๏ธ. I wasn't planning on including these together, but it could be beneficial to ensure that these target the same place, if they refer to the same item in Unicode. Utopes (talk / cont) 07:21, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete in the strongest possible terms. Extremely, magnificently, vague. No target is good. Edward-Woodrow โ€ข talk 20:59, 13 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
How on earth is "Derelict house building" vague!? Thryduulf (talk) 21:09, 14 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Because the emoji isn't held to its precise definition. Emoji semantics aren't at that point yet, so the interpretation could vary person-to-person. As Tavix pointed out further below, readers don't necessarily know the "definition" of the emoji. Edward-Woodrow โ€ข talk 12:25, 15 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
In the same comment Tavix also explained that someone who doesn't know the meaning of the emoji can use the redirect to find that out, which they cannot do if it has been deleted. Thryduulf (talk) 12:40, 16 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ Actually, yes, emoji are held to a precise definition, which is formally defined by Unicode when the emoji is approved for use. That's why we're using the definition "derelict house building" for this emoji and that's why it should target a location that describes dereliction of buildings. -- Tavix (talk) 13:31, 16 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Unmentioned Mario Kart track. (No mentions of the word "deck", "double" only appears once in relationship with Double Dash). This redirect is unnecessary and confusing as we are not the Mario wiki; however, a retarget to Double decker feels plausible with this title, as entries at said disambiguation page are notable for their "double decks". WP:UNNATURAL redirect with no incoming links and an implausible, incomplete disambiguator of "American" (I presume this was supposed to be "American football" or something to this effect). No incoming links. Utopes (talk / cont) 06:53, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom. Although "(American)" would be a plausible (and in this case sufficient but unnecessary) disambiguator the version without the closing parenthesis is not. Thryduulf (talk) 09:41, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nom. I do believe I did this on accident trying to move the pages too quickly and causing this error. Thetreesarespeakingtome (talk) 11:11, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Although this was a relatively recent (July) R from move, this title seems to be most often associated in Google searches with SP Plus Corporation. "SP+" is not mentioned at the target article. No incoming links. Utopes (talk / cont) 03:07, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Disambiguate. I've referenced the SP+ for the Samajwadi Party Alliance article. The SP Plus corp article gives a second use (and an obvious use, with the word "plus"). In games, "SP+" is a stat for "extra special", if we have a games article covering role playing game stats or collectible card game stats, that could also contain info about such.ย ;; A see also to SP (disambiguation). would also be added -- 65.92.244.127 (talk) 04:53, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

There are multiple complete sagas that are covered on Wikipedia, to the point where a disambig page would be too long; this redirect is a WP:SURPRISE and likely to mislead as well. Utopes (talk / cont) 02:55, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Disambiguate there doesn't seem to be that many topics with a title or overtitle or undertitle "Complete Saga". There are many complete sagas documented in articles, but not having that proper title. We can create a list article for those topics if required. "Death Hawk: The Complete Saga (2019)" by Mark Ellis (American author); "Bender: The Complete Saga (2016)" about the Bloody Benders; "Coronation Street: The Complete Saga" by Katherine Hardy about Coronation Street (which shows up in many of the Corrie Street fictive bio topics); "Star Wars: The Complete Saga" blu-ray boxset 2011 release appears in several articles, but we don't have a list of media releases article to point that to.; "The Eternals: The Complete Saga Omnibus" is listed at Marvel Omnibus; "Concrete Revolutio: The Complete Saga" for Concrete Revolutio; "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Complete Saga" listed at List of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers home video releases -- so a reasonable length dab -- 65.92.244.127 (talk) 04:20, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
For what it's worth, and this is something that I did not realize prior, but this redirect was previously deleted at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2017 June 11#The complete saga, which would make it eligible for speedy deletion under criteria G4 if it exists solely as a redirect, because maintaining it as a redirect here would make it "substantially identical to the deleted version" to my knowledge. Disambiguation is still allowed to my understanding, but it would be quite difficult to do so with the current list of (what seems to be) partial title matches that are currently in the draft. Utopes (talk / cont) 06:34, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The redirect would have been eligible for G4 (being a redirect to the same target as one that was previously deleted), but now there is a good faith recommendation for something other than deletion it no longer does. Thryduulf (talk) 10:07, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
