Delete per WP:RDAB due to the extra space between the title and the disambiguator. The title with the correct spacing, Crimson Tide (University of Alabama), is a redirect that targets the same target as the nominated redirect. Steel1943 (talk) 23:21, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom. InfiniteNexus (talk) 18:24, 16 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Comment Steel1943, why didn't you just merge all of these entries into one? Doesn't seem like a WP:TRAINWRECK case where certain redirects should be retained over the others. InfiniteNexus (talk) 18:24, 16 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per WP:RDAB. I agree it would be better to merge these nomination as clear deletions (often at the level of WP:SNOW); considering the volume of these redirect maybe even a speedy deletion category could be created. Besides having an unnecessarily unwieldy title, this redirect is no longer accurate anyways since the target reflects the most recent census in 2021, not 2002. Steel1943 (talk) 22:03, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete: For all reasons cited by nom. The target is not accurate as it only includes 2021 and 2010 census data, completely dropping the 2002 census data out of the article and even if it did include the 2002 data the way that it is written as "administrative centers(*)" is odd enough that probably this could be deleted as unnatural as it would be highly unlikely someone types in that with the asterisk in parens. While this was the name of the article when it was first created, it was moved only 8 days after creation back in 2006, so I find it unlikely that there is an issue of incoming links here to need to account for. TartarTorte 23:12, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Declined R3, even though this is an implausible typo and the nominator has been advised to request R3 [1]. No need for such a long search phrase to clutter Wikipedia's search box, especially that the redirect was created barely a few hours ago. — kashmīrī TALK 20:56, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Maybe I'm being stupid, but what's the typo here? Caeciliusinhorto (talk) 21:47, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    I do not see a typo. Steel1943 (talk) 21:57, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep: I don't view this as an implausible typo. I don't think the article necessarily needs to be at this location as it was moved to shortly, but I don't think this redirect is in any way inaccurate or containing a typo that makes it R3'able. The article is about the alleged role of Saudi Government officials in the 9/11 attacks, so the redirect seems appropriate to me. TartarTorte 23:09, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per TartarTorte, this is an accurate description of the target article's contents and as far as I can see contains no typos or misnomers, let alone implausible ones. Thryduulf (talk) 10:26, 16 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep: This was not a typo. I see no issue with the title of that redirect, which is actually the accurate header for that page. Also, I have requested a title move in that page. Shadowwarrior8 (talk) 20:44, 16 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. I have no comment on the open RM, but I don't see any typo here, and it isn't that implausible (given that the article does talk about Saudi officials in the very first sentence). As to the claim that the phrase will "clutter Wikipedia's search box", the correct article will show up once someone types "Alleged role" or even just "alleged r"; you don't need to type the whole thing into the search box for it to provide a link to the Alleged Saudi role in the September 11 attacks article. – Epicgenius (talk) 19:24, 17 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: This RD was created as a result of an undiscussed move. --Mhhossein talk 08:30, 18 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Acted based on a suggestion by Robert[2], which I think was correct since WP:R3 also applies to misnomers. --Mhhossein talk 08:42, 18 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Redundant redirect from an implausible search term. With extremely rare exceptions on the order of "Thriller", a music video would virtually never qualify for its own standalone article as a separate topic from the song that it's the music video for, and lyric videos (which absolutely anybody can make and post to YouTube at any time whether it's "official" or not) have an even weaker prospect of independent notability than narrative videos do -- and since Angels Ain't Listening already exists as an article about the song, there's no compelling reason why it would need a separate redirect from a disambiguated title representing its own lyric video. Bearcat (talk) 16:34, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. Lyric video exists and targets the proper subject. The nominated redirect explains the "lyric video" subtopic of the target article's primary subject. For these reasons, this redirect does not seem misleading or unnecessary, and directs readers to what they are most likely attempt on to locate if looking up this term. Steel1943 (talk) 19:26, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Who is ever going to "look up" a lyric video as a search topic in its own right, especially since the way the search bar works you're going to hit the song before you even get around to typing "lyric video" at all? That's like saying that because a singer-songwriter is technically also the leader of an eponymous band of session musicians, he or she somehow requires "Name (band)" to exist as its own separate redirect back to his or her base "Name" article — thankfully we kiboshed that when somebody tried it at Natalie Imbruglia, but since anybody searching for her would already hit her BLP first anyway, any additional redirects that just added superfluous information to the title while then taking the reader back to her BLP anyway were just redundant. Bearcat (talk) 00:19, 17 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. This seems to be a very plausible search term for someone looking for the content that exists at the target. Independent notability is not a requirement for redirects - indeed the opposite is often true. Thryduulf (talk) 10:28, 16 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Who is "plausibly" ever going to search for the lyric video separately from searching for the song, especially since the way the search bar works you're going to hit the song before you even get around to typing "lyric video" at all? Bearcat (talk) 00:18, 17 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
People like the person who created the redirect. The internal search bar is only one of many ways people use to find Wikipedia content, and search suggestions are not available for the majority of methods. Thryduulf (talk) 00:45, 17 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

JUNIPER[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was keep. A month is long enough to leave this open. There was an almost even split of editors arguing to keep the target at the disambiguation page, and those arguing to (un-/re-)retarget to Junlper. Most of the arguments to retarget centered on the fact that Junlper consistently stylizes their name as JUNlPER (all-uppercase except for a lowercase L), which could reasonably be confused with JUNIPER when viewed in a sans-serif typeface. Editors proposing to keep argued — in essence — that Junlper is not the primary topic of this capitalization, either because this spelling is not technically their name, or because they are not notable enough that this capitalization could unambiguously be referring to them. I could assess no consensus on the point of the capitalization differentiating the topic, and so based my decision mostly on the following arguments: long precedent exists of uppercase redirects targeting their title case counterparts for various good reasons, and readers looking for Junlper would still be able to find the article (if with a bit of difficulty) by going through the disambiguation page. (non-admin closure) TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 04:48, 25 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I created this redirect targeting Junlper. Dicklyon retargeted it to the current target. I propose retargeting back to Junlper as that is the only entry at that dab stylized in all caps. Clyde [trout needed] 00:39, 23 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ping Dicklyon since the ping didn't work right. Clyde [trout needed] 00:41, 23 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retain – It makes more sense to target it to the disambig page based on the spelling (juniper) than on the capitalization that makes it look like the oddly styled junlper. Dicklyon (talk) 02:27, 23 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget per nom. I'll reproduce my comment at the AFD: "Please see WP:DIFFCAPS. From a quick glance, it seems like no other page at Juniper (disambiguation) uses an all-caps stylization that could be confused with JUN[L]PER. The closest are Juniper Networks, which uses an all-caps, san-serif stylization with a similar I/l but includes "Networks" prominently and the defunct Juniper Bank, which uses an all-caps stylization but in a serif font so the I is easily discernible. By contrast, the Twitter account prominently and consistently uses all-caps in its stylization to try and confuse people. The name is also apparently pronounced like "Juniper", so unless there's clear evidence of other Junipers using an all-caps stylization, there isn't really an issue with this that the current hatnote to the DAB isn't solving. -- Patar knight - chat/contributions 14:02, 17 October 2023 (UTC)" -- Patar knight - chat/contributions 02:50, 23 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The trouble is that this allows the shitposter to shitify Wikipedia by converting an all-caps query to a spelling error. It's much more likely that a person entering "JUNIPER" as a search query just has their caps lock on than that they're looking for that obscure and barely notable shitposter Junlper. Dicklyon (talk) 03:19, 23 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Without any usability testing data, this sounds like an uncommon hypothetical scenario, whereas confusion between l and I (indistinguishable in most default sans-serif system fonts) is a very real and prominent accessibility concern. Regardless of being obscure and barely notable, Junlper is currently an article on Wikipedia, and redirects should help readers who are looking for it. –RoxySaunders 🏳️‍⚧️ (💬 • 📝) 18:25, 23 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget per nom. Junlper is the only topic which is commonly all-capsed in sources. 162 etc. (talk) 03:57, 23 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to Junlper per above and add hatnote. Her Twitter username JUNlPER, under which she is notable, is a stylized form of JUNIPER and can easily be mistaken for it. Nothing else is known as JUNIPER, so WP:DIFFCAPS applies. –CopperyMarrow15 (talk | edits) Feel free to ping me! 22:36, 23 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to Junlper per above. A hatnote to the dab page won't hurt --Lenticel (talk) 00:18, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retain disambiguation: All-caps is a common stylization and was apparently also used intentionally by Juniper Networks and Juniper Bank, and can happen by caps-lock, and searches are typically not case sensitive. It's fine for JUNlPER to redirect to Junlper (since that's hard to produce by accident), but not JUNIPER, which is a different spelling and confusing to readers. — BarrelProof (talk) 16:48, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget. No other Juniper page has unusual capitalization and I doubt anyone would expect this redirect to lead elsewhere. Support hatnote on Junlper page Yoblyblob (talk) 13:10, 1 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retain, mainly per the information found by BarrelProof. Furthermore, while the scenarios brought up by both sides of this debate are entirely plausible, there is something of precedent for redirects of all-caps versions of article titles. Precedent should never be the only reason for doing something on Wikipedia, but given the impossibility of determining which article a person typing "JUNIPER" is actually looking for, precedent could perhaps be used to tip the scales an extra nudge further in favour of retaining. • Retain (at disambiguation). Multiple entries on the disambiguation page stylize their names in all caps. Nobody is questioning the version of the all-caps redirect that contains a lowercase "L", but in this case with the word "JUNIPER" spelled correctly with an "i", and multiple possibilities for such spelling, the disambiguation page is the best location. (Especially when the banned user's twitter tag doesn't even contain an i, and such misspelling does not trump the other more-likely possibilities with the intentional "i" spelling). • Delete - nonsense, and the user is a checkuser-confirmed sockpuppet anyway. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 16:39, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Just remove the redirect from the page or replace it with the relevant block template. There's no need to delete the whole user page. -- Tavix (talk) 17:43, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Convert to a soft redirect, adding the relevant block template above if desired. Hard redirects from base user pages to anything other than the user talk page or the user page of another account controlled by the same person are almost always confusing at best, however these problems are entirely resolved by changing from a hard to a soft redirect which also maintains the link desired by the user. Could equally refer to any male male character from Dilbert. Edward-Woodrowtalk 22:46, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. I've seen multiple people refer to Adams as "The Dilbert Guy" online. It seems unlikely that anybody would use that phrase to refer to any of the other characters in Dilbert. Dilbert is just "Dilbert" and the phrase would be too ambiguous to serve to specifically identify any of the other male characters. If anybody is looking for information about the characters in Dilbert then there is a link to it in the second sentence of the target article so any such readers can easily find their way to what they are looking for without any trouble. --DanielRigal (talk) 00:36, 30 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per DanielRigal. In practice this is unambiguous. Thryduulf (talk) 01:05, 30 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per Thryduulf. Actual and factual. Hyperbolick (talk) 09:52, 30 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Without context, the Dilbert guy is Dilbert (character). -- Tavix (talk) 01:42, 1 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, the evidence is that without context "Dilbert guy" is Scott Adams - Searching for "dilbert guy" -wikipedia -"lost his mind" -"the bastards" (the latter two exclusions to filter out a very commonly cited article and video respectively) the only result on the first four pages that is about the character is the h2g2 entry. Thryduulf (talk) 10:07, 1 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
And you need context (ie: reading the results) to figure that out. "Dilbert guy" is a guy named Dilbert, disambiguating Dilbert (character) from Dilbert (comic strip). -- Tavix (talk) 12:50, 1 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Except everybody using the phrase "Dilbert guy" is using it to refer to Scott Adams, because he is (as the lead of his article says) the author of the Dilbert (comic strip). Anyone arriving at the article about the character who doesn't know who is being referred to will be confused because the context of the place they saw the phrase used was clearly referring to a person not a character. For those very few people who are using this search term to find the article about a character, who is not referred to as the "Dilbert guy" in any reliable source (and is only referred to as such in exactly one of the many unreliable ones) I've been able to find, would be best served by a hatnote. Thryduulf (talk) 14:37, 1 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
So you've convinced me, per the lede of his article, that "Dilbert author" is Scott Adams. "Dilbert guy" is not necessarily Scott Adams; you need specific context telling you that. -- Tavix (talk) 14:46, 1 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The evidence already presented is that >99% of uses of the term "Dilbert guy" use it to mean "Scott Adams". What other evidence do you want? Thryduulf (talk) 15:21, 1 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    I never asked for evidence. -- Tavix (talk) 15:45, 1 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm utterly baffled by your argument then. Someone searching for this term who doesn't know what it means will be doing so after seeing it in context, and that context is exclusively one where "Dilbert guy" means "Scott Adams". If someone is searching for this term who does know what it means will be doing so to read about Scott Adams, because that's what it means everywhere it is used. If they want to learn about the character then they'll search something like Dilbert (character), Dilbert (cartoon character), Dilbert cartoon, Dilbert, Dilbert (Dilbert), or Dilbert (disambiguation). I don't think WP:RKEEP #6 (i.e., "The redirect is to a closely related word form, such as a plural form to a singular form") applies here. The target is a person, and the redirect refers to a related idea, but not a related word form. If the idea of "Morenoism" is notable enough to have a redirect, it should be at least mentioned on the page. Other, similar concepts (e.g., Trumpism even warrant their own page. The biography seems to adequately address the political positions of Moreno, so the expected material from Morenoism is there to discover, by going to the linked organization with which he had leadership roles. And as you already pointed, the term "Morenoism" isn't likely to get an article, thus a comparison with Trumpism doesn't hold. As Wikipedia is not a dictionary, the definition of Morenoism doesn't need to be there, if the target contains what the topic is about instead of how the word is defined. If Wikipedia is a dictionary, then allied terms would need wordlists at the end of articles. wikt:en:-ism shows this is a related term of simple construction (just add a suffix), the Moreno school of thought is Morenoism. And Moreno's positions are in his biography. -- 65.92.247.90 (talk) 03:42, 16 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If the concept of Morenoism is at all notable, then the phrase should be at least included in Moreno's biography. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 17:55, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
