East China craton[edit]

No relevant content anywhere on Wikipedia apart from bare-bones mentions in lists. If this is a thing, then the redirect had better be deleted to encourage article creation. – Uanfala (talk) 22:44, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete or retarget, current redirect target makes no sense. The list of shields and cratons article would be better, if kept. CMD (talk) 08:15, 2 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per WP:REDLINK. All the other cratons in the list that I spotchecked have articles so it seems desirable for this to be an article too. Thryduulf (talk) 11:36, 2 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • There's some deleted history under East China Craton – maybe worth having a look for somebody who's able to? – Uanfala (talk) 15:54, 2 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete, no source has been found related to make it retarget to elsewhere. Sun8908Talk 15:22, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I can't quite make sense of the redirect. There are multiple things on Wikipedia that might be referred to by "broad street", but none of them would plausibly use a plural. ~~~~

  • Weak delete. Broad Street (disambiguation) exists but I think some content about road width would be a more likely target, but if we have a suitable article I haven't found it. Thryduulf (talk) 11:43, 2 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete as too vague. Street has the phrase "broader two-way streets", which is a possible target (but still not a good one, hense delete). MB 04:33, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per MB. Jay (talk) 13:02, 8 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This seems to be referring to Whitefield (Bangalore) railway station, though a web search does not suggest that it is referred to by this name. ~~~~

  • Delete. All I can find on google is railway stations, or parts of railway stations (signs, canopies, clocks, etc), that happen to be white. If this isn't deleted though, it should be mentioned on the White Station disambiguation page. Thryduulf (talk) 11:50, 2 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. There is White Station, Memphis, at the "site of White's Station, an historic railway station built in 1842", but I don't think anyone looking for that would type this exactly. MB 04:43, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. White railway station is the form I'd expect, but it's a redlink, and nothing at White Station is a railway station. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 12:14, 4 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nom. Jay (talk) 13:00, 8 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:NEW[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was retarget Wikipedia:New to Wikipedia:Article creation and Keep the other two. -- Tavix (talk) 20:00, 22 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Since at least some of these redirects are obviously intended to be left in messages to newcomers I think these should be synchronised to point at the same target (and Help:NEW created and pointed at the same place). It would not be a good experience for a newcomer if someone told them to read "WP:New", for help, they typed "WP:NEW" into the search bar and ended up in a completely different place. WP:NEW does have about 1000 back links, but they're pretty much all in ancient talk page messages and are actually supposed to be linking to the WP:New Users Log. 86.23.109.101 (talk) 13:26, 16 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This makes sense. WP:NEW originally linked to WP:New Users Log, AFAICS you're right and the vast majority are trying to link there, so by redirecting it again we wouldn't be losing much. ··gracefool 💬 23:11, 16 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • I wouldn't mind the Help:New going towards the Help:Your first article , and Wikipedia:New going towards Wikipedia:Article creation, but no preference either way. JackFromReedsburg (talk | contribs) 14:34, 17 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Brushless AC electric motor[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was retarget to AC motor. Anarchyte (talkwork) 09:59, 8 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I searched for AC motors, not DC motors. SCP-053 (talk) 07:15, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget to something. I don't know much about motors, but I think this term is somewhat broad, so targeting AC motor would probably work, with abundant links there to more specific types. Other more specific options potentially include Synchronous motor and Doubly-fed electric machine, but I'm not sure if these are appropriate or fully capture the search term. Mdewman6 (talk) 17:20, 25 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: Looking at the history, this redirect was from a page move, as the current target was originally about the AC version, then moved to just Brushless electric motor, then moved eventually to the current title since the article does indeed focus on DC motors. There may be some value in maintaining the current target, but I do think retargeting to something describing AC motors would be more useful. Mdewman6 (talk) 17:26, 25 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment Lowercase exists as well!!!, I added it. SCP-053 (talk) 10:12, 30 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
