Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to 2015 Garowe attack, without good reason. They should have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Azeotropes[edit]

Dear 053pvr:

Thank you for your comments regarding my addition to the article on azeotropes.

First my back ground. I graduated from U.C. Berkeley with a B.S.Chemistry in 1974. I retired from medicine in 2015 and wanted to catch up on biochemistry which has made amazing advances since I took it in 1972. After finishing Lehninger Principles of Biochemistry, my interest in chemistry was re-kindled. I was always fascinated by azeotropes but they were only mentioned in organic chemistry. I went into this topic fairly extensively. I always start with Wikipedia to find out what is the latest information.

While reading the section on minimum boiling azeotropes, it occurred to me that the graph showed one mole fraction for the condensate at a specific liquid mole fraction. It occurred to me that this could only be true if the volume of liquid was much larger than the volume of condensate. During an actual distillation, the substance that is enriched in the condensate relative to the liquid, will have to be subtracted from the moles in the liquid. I did the calculations for 3 rounds of distillation. I used 1000 ml of the chloroform - methanol azeotrope. First I started to the left of the azeotrope point with a 30% chloroform, 70% methanol mixture. I collected 100 ml of condensate and assumed it was all 47% chloroform and 53% methanol. I subtracted the moles of each from the original mixture. I did this twice again. The starting point moves to the left. I then did a mixture to the right of the azeotrope point. The starting point moves to the right.

This is what I wrote in the article: The above description presumes that the volume of the starting mixture is infinite, such that the concentrations of X and Y do not change during the distillation. For real distillations, as the concentration of X decreases in the boiling flask, the temperature will rise, and cause a shift to the left along the bottom curve. This will cause the condensate to become less rich in X. For real distillations one will have to limit the temperature rise to a few degrees in order to get an enriched condensate.

The only change I would make is the last sentence. It is not clear what the distillation is trying to accomplish. I would change it to: For real distillations, if one is trying to get a high mole fraction of X in the condensate, one will have to limit the collection such that the boiling temperature rises only a few degrees.

I do not have a citation for this change in the article because I could not find anyone who has done the calculations. If you doubt what I am saying, please do the calculations yourself.

The reason I am adding this is that the graph can lead the reader to believe that all one has to do is keep boiling away and collect a condensate that is rich in X. Obviously if one boils away all the liquid, one gets the same liquid in the condensate!

Actually I am glad you responded and deleted my comments. I was beginning to worry that it was too easy for someone to add things to articles and no one was monitoring the material. I use Wikipedia a lot and depend on accurate information. My trust is Wikipedia is renewed! Now I hope you add my addition to the article, or should I re-submit it?

@Fleet Lists: I followed the guidelines at WP:USSTATION and WP:UKSTATION. I think that stations in Australia and New Zealand should be disambiguated the same way as stations in the UK and US, so I moved the pages. The guideline that you cited is still a proposal, so there's no obligation for me to follow it. The guidelines you followed apply to the US and the UK - they are not worldwide guidelines and do not apply to Australia and New Zealand. While the Australia and New Zealand guidelines have not been formalised, they are the best we have here and should be followed until they are formalised or something different is approved. Russian-language redirects[edit]

Hello, I've noticed you recently created a batch of redirects from Russian-language names. Often, such as in Сыктывка́р or Чебокса́ры, you used a diacriticised version, which was probably used in the lead. Please note that the acute accent is almost never used in Russian outside phonology, showing the stress of a word in works like dictionaries. In normal writing, it only appears in case of ambiguity that could arise from a different pronunciation. Thus, I am quite sceptical about the usefulness of such redirects, as it is very unlikely that anyone will enter or paste these terms with the accent mark. As redirects are cheap, I do not think it is necessary to delete these (especially as they are technically correct), but even if you are going to continue creating redirects like this, I strongly suggest you create the non-diacriticised versions as well. 𝟙𝟤𝟯𝟺𝐪𝑤𝒆𝓇𝟷𝟮𝟥𝟜𝓺𝔴𝕖𝖗𝟰 (𝗍𝗮𝘭𝙠) 13:06, 15 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ds/alerts are standard notices, that may be delivered to anyone editing articles in topics subject to sanctions, by any other editor; they are not a threat. You already received such a notice back in March, and after noticing your edits at the two articles mentioned above, I thought that you might have either overlooked the original Ds/alert when it was issued, or not understood it because you are new, or forgot it. Hence, the reminder. So, when you get one of the notices, you shouldn't think of it as a threat, but as good advice that might help keep you out of trouble. Regarding AN[edit]

I see that that was your first AN report, so I don't want to go too hard on you. Pretty sure my first AN report sucked.

But I do think it's important that you understand how important it is to not repeat this mistake. The encyclopedia is always in need of more editors, especially more content creators. When you report a new user to AN or another noticeboard, you absolutely have an obligation to make sure that they've really done something report-worthy. The same is true of an editor returning after 12 years' inactivity. We never know who's going to be our next legendary content creator; and we'll never know how many people could have been that, but were scared off by a noticeboard report early in their career.

"I didn't read the draft" is not a good excuse. Rather, it shows that you rolled the dice on scaring away an inexperienced editor without even familiarizing yourself with the situation. You should be absolutely sure of the facts before filing a noticeboard report against anyone, but especially someone who isn't sufficiently familiar with WP procedures to understand what's going on.

I'm not an admin, so I can't compel you to do anything here, but it disappoints me that I've twice said you should apologize, and you've twice indicated that you saw my message, and yet you still haven't apologized.
