2023 Greenvale earthquake[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was keep as moot. An appropriate target article has been created at 2023 Sunbury earthquake and I have merged the history accordingly. signed, Rosguill talk 00:40, 7 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned in the article because this earthquake is considered too insignificant for List of earthquakes in 2023. (Low magnitude, no significant damage.) Pichpich (talk) 22:34, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom. Not merely unmentioned but (apparently) incapable of being mentioned. -- Visviva (talk) 04:38, 30 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Do not delete. The earthquake has updated to a magnitude of 4.0 [1] and was estimated to have a MMI of V [2]. Slight damages were reported, and although in global context it may be insignificant it has significant coverage in Australia. A quick google search can find an article by the CNN [3], and also covered the national news channel (ABC Australia) [4] plus almost all news agencies in Australia. It is mentioned in the significant earthquake list of USGS [5]. According to WP:N(EQ) it is definitely considered notable, as notability is not definited by the magnitude. Purin128AL (talk) 11:22, 30 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Restore article and properly discuss this at AfD, if deletion is desired. This is the wrong venue. --Paul_012 (talk) 11:48, 30 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Restore article. As per this message written by me, I believe the sources to demonstrate notability for this article exist, and the earthquake is of heavy interest in Australia. Redtree21 (talk) 11:48, 31 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Restore and take to AfD if desired per the above and per WP:BLAR. A7V2 (talk) 00:26, 1 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Article has been restored and expanded at 2023 Sunbury earthquake. Redirects above are now targeted to the new page created. Purin128AL (talk) 09:41, 1 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
2023 Sunbury earthquake is a cut-and-paste move that gave no credit to 2023 Melbourne earthquake. Redtree21 and Purin128AL would you prefer to merge the histories instead? Jay 💬 08:44, 6 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was retarget to List of programmes broadcast by Sky Witness. Jay 💬 09:04, 6 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned in the target. Pichpich (talk) 22:27, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I believe the correct target is List of programmes broadcast by Sky Witness (replaced Sky Living); Straight Dates by Gay Mates aired on the network in 2003-04.[1] I suggest we correct and keep the redirect as opposed to deleting it. Underclass King (talk) 23:56, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Too vague to redirect to a specific target. Presumably, all title bouts in a heavyweight category could be considered as World Heavyweight Championships, whether in boxing, in MMA, in judo, in amateur wrestling, etc. Pichpich (talk) 22:02, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Agree. The WWE word is needed. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 07:25, 30 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Matthew Moore. signed, Rosguill talk 19:59, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No mention of space at target. Lots of uses on enwiki to refer to fictional commanders of spaceships, but doesn't seem like we have a good target for this use. Could also refer to a captain in the U.S. Space Force or other military entity. For now, I suggest retargeting to Matthew Moore as {{R from miscapitalization}} to match Space Captain, since that seems to be the primary use of the term for either capitalization. Mdewman6 (talk) 19:07, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget per nom. Hatnote can be added to refer to Captains in general. The fictional characters are PTM's so they aren't noted without their names. AngusW🐶🐶F (barksniff) 00:03, 31 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Don't see what purpose this redirect serves. Are .org redirects the norm? Gjs238 (talk) 12:55, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. Appears to be a conspiracy theorist website about the meeting, which is not mentioned in the "Conspiracy theories" section in the target article. It seems User:Trivialist created the redirect from a red-linked description of an external link that was in the 2003 Bilderberg Meeting at the time. The article has since been merged/redirected and the link removed. --Paul_012 (talk) 13:24, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know what kind of protection this charging cable refers to. Q𝟤𝟪 07:09, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Retarget to Wikipedia:Protection_policy#Extended_confirmed_protection. @Q28: I find your references to a "charging cable" confusing; are you using machine translation? –LaundryPizza03 (d) 07:17, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@LaundryPizza03Yes, I am using the Chinese-English translation function of iFLYTEK input method. This sentence means “充电线” in Chinese, It is closer to the pronunciation of redirection“重定向”. Q𝟤𝟪 07:20, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Fix the section link per LaundryPizza03. X is a fairly well used shortcut for extended, see WP:XC or WP:XCON, for example. 192.76.8.86 (talk) 19:08, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • The nominator does not appear to be suggesting retargeting. --Paul_012 (talk) 10:32, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I mean deletion. Should I renominate in the right manner? Or is this it? Kailash29792 (talk) 12:38, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The nomination is already correctly formatted; I think LaundryPizza03 just had a moment of confusion there. You could edit the nom statement above to more explicitly suggest deletion, though. --Paul_012 (talk) 12:49, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete in the spirit of G7, as Kailash29792 was the one who moved the article to this title, where it remained for six days or so last month. --Paul_012 (talk) 13:29, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete now released. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 18:02, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per WP:RFD#K5 for now, as it still has a significant amount of pageviews from somewhere (approx 10 per day). It should be deleted once the page views drop off. 192.76.8.86 (talk) 19:03, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete now that the film has been released. Pichpich (talk) 22:13, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This is a mashup between the normal Chinese name for the place (zh:安托內利尖塔, literally "Antonelli's Spire") preceded by an attempt at transcription into Chinese characters of La Mole. Even leaving aside the WP:FORRED issues with a Chinese-language redirect to an Italian landmark, this name appears nowhere else on the Internet besides one Wikipedia scraper [6][7]. The unsourced WP:BLARed article in the history of the redirect, Special:Permalink/349197547, was not merged anywhere that I can see. In particular, the Chinese Wikipedia article created five days after this redirect, zh:Special:Permalink/12609206, doesn't contain any of the same text. Thus there's no need to keep the history for any WP:ATTR purposes either. 59.149.117.119 (talk) 05:25, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
