Parity Amendment[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was no consensus. -- Tavix (talk) 03:00, 11 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Both an internal search and a Scholar search suggest that this term has been used to describe various pieces of legislation; I would suggest deletion to allow for uninhibited search results, as most of Wikipedia's coverage of such concepts is spread across various biographical and historical articles, rather than at the pages for laws that could be easily disambiguated. signed, Rosguill talk 19:26, 17 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep unless nominator provides more details of the searches. When I searched within Wikipedia, I did not find any relevant non-Philippines non-Bell Trade Act results. Jay (talk) 19:14, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I see Sylviane_Agacinski#Parité_amendment internally, and various references to healthcare-related parity amendments on Google Scholar [1], [2], [3]. signed, Rosguill talk 21:09, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I had seen Sylviane_Agacinski#Parité_amendment too, but didn't consider it significant. Other search results are for "Parity Amendment" only, not "Parity Rights Amendment". The only matching Wikipedia article is Mental Health Parity Act which should not be redirected from either of two listed Rfds. Jay (talk) 10:16, 25 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was retarget to Wikipedia:Notability (books)#Academic and technical books. plicit 00:11, 4 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This is a confusing redirect. Compare with WP:TEXTBOOKS, which redirects to a different page entirely. Both need to link to the same place, and I'd like further discussion on which one exactly, as I'm unsure myself. RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 19:51, 19 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget to the notability criterion. NOT guidelines are largely limited to "WP:NOTX" style shortcuts, with only a few core ideas like WP:CRYSTALBALL deviating from that formulation. VanIsaac, MPLL contWpWS 18:37, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Obsolete redirect with a non-obvious name. (Obsolete as in it used to be a real template but now isn’t.) I have removed it from two templates and it is now only used in sandboxes and a userpage. User:GKFXtalk 22:50, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Delete (after gentle replacements in non-mainspace, why not). Dates from pre-Lua module, now useless and confusing. -DePiep (talk) 14:22, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned at target. The second one was created in 2005 with the content "Fucking Backstabber and Biterphobia are the songs included on the rare single Soul Intent by the group Soul Intent." and soon redirected to Eminem. The closest I could find anywhere else is a track "Backstabber" at Infinite (Eminem album), though that mentions neither "Fucking" nor "Biterphobia". 𝟙𝟤𝟯𝟺𝐪𝑤𝒆𝓇𝟷𝟮𝟥𝟜𝓺𝔴𝕖𝖗𝟰 (𝗍𝗮𝘭𝙠) 19:41, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Unlikely misspelling. "Wisconain" itself isn't a redirect to "Wisconsin", so i don't see why it should be in this case. JackFromWisconsin (talk | contribs) 19:26, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I can't find a single place where we discuss the idea of a temporary building or structure. There are some related ideas, like Portable building and Temporary use, but I don't think they're suitable for retargeting. I suggest WP:REDLINK deletion unless we can identify something. BDD (talk) 19:01, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was keep. The nominator's rationale no longer applies, as the search term is now mentioned at the target. Although WP:FANCRUFT is raised as an argument for deletion, it has been sufficiently rebutted by other commenters here. (non-admin closure) feminist (+) 17:22, 6 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Gay Nazis. (non-admin closure) CycloneYoris talk! 08:53, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I propose retargetting to the disambiguation page Gay Nazis, as I think most people searching for "LGBT fascism" are looking either for gay fascism (the bogus theory that homosexuality caused Nazism) or for National Socialist League (United States) (an actual gay neo-Nazi group). gnu57 15:04, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget. The current redirects make no sense to me. I am no expert on the topics involved though. --Luminoxius (talk) 19:16, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget. The Gay Nazis page makes more sense since not all conservatives are fascists.--65.92.163.98 (talk) 00:08, 27 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to Gay Nazis per nom. Current target is clearly inappropriate, and the broader list of meanings on the dab page seems a more likely target than the specific conspiracy theory at gay fascism. Hog Farm Talk 02:20, 27 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strong retarget to Gay Nazis per nom and possibly G10 Dudhhr (talk) 23:57, 28 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Implausible typo. BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 10:13, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment this doesn't look like a typo; it looks like some form of abbreviation. -- 67.70.27.246 (talk) 14:59, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    • Comment It seems to be used as a village name [4]; an old revision of the other page [5] indicates census data. The page "Vehicle_Fac.tory_Jabalpur" contains an article on the village "Vehicle_Fac._Jabalpur" because in 2012, someone rewrote the article from a village article to a factory article [6]; that person moved the article from this page name to the weird Fac.tory name [7] -- 67.70.27.246 (talk) 21:26, 27 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. I agree this looks to be an intentional abbreviation rather than a typo, but I can't find any uses of it other than clearly automated creations based Wikipedia page titles (or a similarly scraped source). Happy to change my mind though if somoene can point to anything independent and human-created. Thryduulf (talk) 02:40, 27 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment due to the overwritten article, I suggest a history split of the village to this page name from the "Fac.tory" pagename, before deletion, to clean up history if anyone wants to undelete; or if it needs to go to AfD instead because of the overwrite with a different topic with a different name. -- 67.70.27.246 (talk) 21:35, 27 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • The page history of this redirect should be kept. J947messageedits 01:06, 27 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment an old revision of this page contains census data for a village called "Vehicle_Fac._Jabalpur" [8]. In 2012, someone rewrote the article from a village article to a factory article [9]; that person moved this page from "Fac." to "Fac.tory" [10]; so there are two articles in the history of this redirect, one of them, the village, should be residing at the "Fac." redirect location. The factory edit history should reside at this page name; the dividing point is 2012, before 2012, it is a village article, in 2012 the village article was overwritten with the factory article. -- 67.70.27.246 (talk) 21:28, 27 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment due to the overwritten article, I suggest a history split of the village to the "Fac." page name, before deletion, to clean up history if anyone wants to undelete; or if it needs to go to AfD instead because of the overwrite with a different topic with a different name. -- 67.70.27.246 (talk) 21:35, 27 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Unused template redirect. User:GKFXtalk 07:15, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This is a QWERTY typeable redirect of a template with a non-QWERTY name. So this needs to be a keep unless the underlying template is deleted as a simple matter of accessibility. VanIsaac, MPLL contWpWS 14:53, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strong Keep it does what it says, it points to a function that tests equality (in its opposite form) Further the non-equality sign is not typable on a standard keyboard, so the destination should definitely have a typable redirect to reach it. -- 67.70.27.246 (talk) 14:54, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I can tell "Tony Starks" with an S is not used to refer to the comic character, while it is used to refer to Ghostface Killah. I've added a hatnote to Iron Man, but I think the term should probably redirect to Ghostface Killah with a hatnote there. AllegedlyHuman (talk) 02:27, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget per nom. All uses of the phrase on Wikipedia refer to Ghostface Killah, except one at Iron Man that involves multiple realities, and hence multiple Tony Starks. I don't think we need to worry about that sort of corner case. --BDD (talk) 16:21, 27 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
