This is a list of redirects that have been proposed for deletion or other action on January 21, 2018.

Halow 2 for windows[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. --BDD (talk) 16:49, 29 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Implausible typo. HaLow redirects to IEEE 802.11ah, which has no relation to the game series. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 23:57, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete as implausible misspelling --Lenticel (talk) 00:54, 23 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nom. Also confusion with Halo Wars 2. Best to just get rid of it. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:26, 23 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - This looks like it'll be a unanimous decision. CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 01:16, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The above discussion is preserved as an archive of the discussion. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page.

Halo 2; Gameplay and Storyline[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. --BDD (talk) 16:49, 29 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Totally implausible search term using weird punctuation. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 23:56, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of the discussion. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page.

List of vehicles in halo[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. --BDD (talk) 16:49, 29 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

No such "list of vehicles" exists at the target page. Unnecessary redirect. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 23:54, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom. No such list, and it would have to encompass the entire franchise. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:27, 23 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The above discussion is preserved as an archive of the discussion. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page.

Blood gultch[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. --BDD (talk) 16:48, 29 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Implausible typo, given that gultch doesn't exist either. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 23:49, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. Blood Gulch is surprisingly not even mentioned at the target article, and even if it was this is both a misspelling and a miscapitalisation, making it not worth keeping. —Xezbeth (talk) 09:38, 22 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nom. Blood Gulch already redirects properly. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:29, 23 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The above discussion is preserved as an archive of the discussion. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page.

The result of the discussion was delete. --BDD (talk) 16:48, 29 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Another implausible misspelling. "O" is nowhere near "A" or "B". ZXCVBNM (TALK) 23:46, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - I agree. This doesn't seem helpful at all. CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 02:43, 22 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nom. Unless the title goes by Halo Combo where that might confuse with Halo Combat, this isn't plausible. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:30, 23 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The above discussion is preserved as an archive of the discussion. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page.

Mario caracters[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete. --BDD (talk) 16:47, 29 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Unlikely misspelling, considering that Caracter and Caracters do not exist. Steel1943 (talk) 20:16, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Goomba (species)[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was keep. Consensus is that the redirect does no harm. (non-admin closure)  — PinkAmpers&(Je vous invite à me parler) 17:43, 28 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The target isn't a species. Steel1943 (talk) 18:20, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

From the first sentence of the article: "... are a species of sentient mushrooms ...". Largoplazo (talk) 18:26, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - Misleading. (Fictional species) would be the correct redirect, but I don't really think that's necessary.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 19:02, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per Largoplazo. I also don't see how this can be misleading. -- Tavix (talk) 19:35, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    • (Species) is only used with real species. The redirect implies that Goombas are a real species name when in fact they aren't.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 19:54, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • But a redirect doesn't have to be informative so much as helpful, no? If someone searches for "goomba species", with or without the word "fictional", isn't it good that that person will be led to the right article—which will dispel the false notion if the user had been under the impression that they're a real species? Largoplazo (talk) 20:08, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • "(species)" simply implies a species. That's it. Nowhere does it imply "real species". It would have to be "(real species)", or similar, for it to imply a real species. -- Tavix (talk) 20:19, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • To be clear, I would disagree with it in the title of the article. If the actual article were to be disambiguated, I'd expect the disambiguator to be "(fictional species)". For a redirect, though, it seems immaterial to me. In fact, if the article were titled "Goomba (fictional species)", I'd still be happy with a redirect to it titled "Goomba (species)". Largoplazo (talk) 20:30, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep, per Tavix. Perfectly valid way to search for fictional species. ---- Patar knight - chat/contributions 16:23, 22 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep and add appropriate tags like unnecessary disambiguation. I think most fictional creatures are fictional species. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:33, 23 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per Largoplazo. Even if the redirect isn't a worthy article title, it's still good as a redirect. ToThAc (talk) 14:18, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The above discussion is preserved as an archive of the discussion. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page.

Mr. Video[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. --BDD (talk) 16:47, 29 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not seeing any references that this is an alternative name for its target. The only reference I could find is the equivalent of WP:NOTWIKIA; a video made in 2013 describing a clip of Super Mario Galaxy in the eyes of someone on YouTube. Steel1943 (talk) 16:40, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete Commander Video comes into my mind more than Mario, but it doesn't make sense to redirect to either.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 19:05, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Highly unlikely search term; rarely anyone ever refers to him as Mr. Video. ToThAc (talk) 21:39, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • I did find a reference that shows that Mario wad originally planned to be named Mr Video [[1]]. Not sure if it’s enough but it is more relevant than it first appears.--64.229.165.48 (talk) 23:36, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    • Seems more like trivia than a pertinent redirect, as almost no one will use "Mr. Video" to search for such a well known figure as Mario.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 18:37, 22 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete searches show some indie producers. No evidence it was a working title name or anything but an idea that was floated during the naming. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:37, 23 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Weegee (character)[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. --BDD (talk) 16:44, 29 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

"Weegee" is not an alternative name for this target. Any searches for this term on third-party search engines return some sort of Internet meme related to the character, but it's not actually the character. Steel1943 (talk) 16:34, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete Unencyclopedic slang term that isn't necessary as a redirect.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 19:06, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
On a related note should the hatnote on the Weegee that links to the Luigi article also be removed?--64.229.165.48 (talk) 02:55, 23 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I've removed the Luigi hatnote and dab entry. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:19, 23 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - "Weegee" is an internet meme that's weird even by meme standards and has little to no connection to the actual Nintendo franchise. On it's own terms, the meme is not particularly notable either. CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 05:24, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Steel1943: Why don't we nominate Malleo (character) as well? ToThAc (talk) 14:22, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@ToThAc: Sounds good to me. Steel1943 (talk) 00:48, 25 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Steel1943: I have nominated Malleo (character), as well as Yushee, which is also tied to the aforementioned meme. ToThAc (talk) 00:57, 25 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@ToThAc: I thought you meant to nominate them in a separate nomination, given how many day ago I created this nomination. No matter though. Steel1943 (talk) 12:36, 25 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@ToThAc: How about Walleo? Steel1943 (talk) 22:54, 25 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
...And Waweegee. Steel1943 (talk) 22:56, 25 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Steel1943: Go ahead and nominate those too. ToThAc (talk) 14:25, 26 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Delete. Pointless and unnecessary. Name is not in common use Dekacarandaebonelm (talk) 16:11, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This is part of a large list of pointless redirects, two of which were already nominated for discussion at Wikipedia:Redirects_for_discussion/Log/2018_January_18#Alt-right_haircut (@Pichpich:@PCock: @Toddst1:). I see no compelling reason to redirect hipster hair or fashy and the rest to Undercut. Most of these redirects seem to be names that were invented by User:Osama57 but have no association with the undercut in real life.

For clarity, all of the above is part of Deka's nomination statement, which I've refactored slightly so as to have all of the redirects listed in standard format. — PinkAmpers&(Je vous invite à me parler) 02:28, 22 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete all as unlikely search terms. Pichpich (talk) 17:50, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep Mentioned in reliable sources as being the haircut of Richard Spencer. The other ones mentioned should be ignored unless nominated separately, as one cannot simply introduce that many new terms into an existing redirect discussion.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 19:48, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • First of all, Dekacarandaebonelm, I must say it's bad form to ping everyone who !voted "delete" in another discussion, but not those of us who !voted otherwise. To even things out, I'll ping CoffeeWithMarkets, BDD, Ivanvector, and TheSandDoctor. Now, as to my !votes: keep #s 1, 2, 7, 10, & 12 as plausible search terms; weak keep #s 6, 8, 9, & 11; delete #s 3-5 as ambiguous. — PinkAmpers&(Je vous invite à me parler) 02:35, 22 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'd very much like for this to be separated since the plausibility varies a lot. This was the actual hairstyle of many historical Nazi officers, as is mentioned at Undercut_(hairstyle)#Origins. Something like 'Hitler Youth (haircut)' is a hell of a lot more connected than the generic 'Hipster haircut', which is so vague that it could mean a number of different hairstyles. CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 02:41, 22 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • I bundled them together because they all seem almost equally pointless, were created by the same users and link to the same article. But I'm not opposed to separate them in different discussions. I also did made a notification to this discussion at the other discussion page.
  • Numbers 2-5 could just as well point to at least a dozen of different articles. The rest look like inventions by User Osama, like Richard Spencer haircut which speaks for itself. --Dekacarandaebonelm (talk) 17:10, 22 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • This, one of the sources mentioned in the article, says that his haircut is fondly if ironically referred to by many wearers as a “fashy.” If a reader of that Washington Post article were to look for the corresponding Wikipedia article, it isn't clear they should search for "undercut" rather than "fashy". Same thing with a number of other sources used (Esquire, for example): they call it "fashy", not "undercut". I'm not suggesting Wikipedia's article be renamed, but given how the reliable sources uses the terms, at least keeping redirects like #2 or #8 seems appropriate. Gabbe (talk) 13:39, 23 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • These shouldn't've been bundled, and I pity the closer. That said, keep 2, 6-8, and 10. Weak keep 1 and 9. Delete 3-5. That leaves me neutral on 11 and 12, which I haven't heard of. --BDD (talk) 16:20, 23 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment - If three, four, and five are separated out, then I think that we'd have consensus to delete those. I'd be in agreement with both BDD and Dekacarandaebonelm in that specific case. CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 01:18, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: About number 2), has nobody googled Fashy? There are dozens of other uses for this word. Fashy is also a clothing company, among many other things.--Dekacarandaebonelm (talk) 21:56, 25 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete 3-5. While this is associated with hipsters before the alt-right, it's not 1:1 enough for a redirect. The other terms all get coverage in reliable sources as alternative names for this haircut. For example [2] for "jugend". ---- Patar knight - chat/contributions 20:59, 28 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete or just empty the page This was just the result of someone's weird move, now undone, of the article. Largoplazo (talk) 11:13, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • User:Bot1058 has replaced the redirect with a disambiguation talk page template, and now the page is a mess. Largoplazo (talk) 19:24, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The Keystone Cops page-moving and double-redirect fixing threw a hard curveball at my bot. It's been approved since May 2016 to perform the fairly trivial task of Find: #REDIRECT(.|\n)* (regex); Replace: {{WikiProject Disambiguation}}
on members of Category:Unsynchronized disambiguation talk pages. Now, the edit to deactivate the redirect by sandwiching it within the RfD template code should have removed the page from this category so that my bot wouldn't have processed it. However, since a null edit wasn't subsequently made to FHSH and the "job queue" hadn't caught up to this either... "gotcha!" In any event, this was the first time this scenario has happened, in a process that's been running smoothly for over a year and a half (though I only recently automated the frequency of processing to daily by converting it from AWB to PHP), and since it's easily resolved by reverting the bot, which will have taken care of purging the page, I'm not taking any special measures to fix it. Admit I never considered that redirects so trivial that a bot processes them would come up for discussion here. wbm1058 (talk) 21:09, 26 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Procedural nomination (after closing an AfD for the redirect). Mark Tatum isn't mentioned on the target page, and the NBA Deputy Commissioner ([3] [4]) is quite possibly notable enough for a page. power~enwiki (π, ν) 03:05, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete: Same reasons as before (when I accidentally nominated this as an AfD). It is highly unlikely for someone to use this redirect for its intended purpose. Most people typing this query are most likely looking for the NBA Deputy Commissioner of the same name, who is considerably more relevant (and notable) now than when this redirect was created more than a decade ago. --Andymii (talk) 03:20, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was delete. Killiondude (talk) 05:46, 28 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This redirect is a bit misleading. The redirect implies a list or index of wrestlers, but the target is a single wrestler. -- Tavix (talk) 02:56, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - Both Luis Ignacio Urive Alvirde and Jorge Arias (going by their real names) have gone by the title 'Sin Cara', and they've even fought in the ring over the right to go by that (see here). The redirect, though, seems not just awkwardly worded but also targets only a single individual (when, again, this is about a feud between two people). It seems more logical to just let people search. CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 03:09, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nom. A section could be developed if other notable wrestlers have adopted the Sin Cara moniker. But I don't think it's gotten as numerous as Black Tiger (professional wrestling) AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:47, 23 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The article was located at this title for about a month in 2007. The redirect was taken to RfD in January of '08 amidst a mass cleanup of quotation-mark titles (incidentally, the same goal that led me to this redirect) and was kept with little discussion. Now that we've had nine years to reconsider, I move that we delete this implausible search term.  — PinkAmpers&(Je vous invite à me parler) 02:42, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
