Ambiguous redirect if this refers to the character from both games. A redirect already exists for Eric Sparrow, which is redirected to this article as the first appearance ever for this character. jd22292 (Jalen D. Folf) (talk) 17:40, 14 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned in the article. Wikipedia is not a directory for in-universe lore. jd22292 (Jalen D. Folf) (talk) 17:39, 14 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom. Too specific in-reference that isn't mentioned at all in the article or covered in any secondary sources independent of the subject. It's not clear if it's a term from one of the games they played on Game Grumps or some neologism made up in a Game Grumps episode. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 10:12, 15 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Redirects to a disamb page where none of the articles use the phrase. SummerPhDv2.0 17:38, 14 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Delete per nom; Wikipedia is not the place for humour. jd22292 (Jalen D. Folf) (talk) 18:06, 14 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Delete per nom, possibly speedily. If there was a real thing worthy of mention with this name (e.g. a song by a notable artist) then it should be on the disambiguation page. There is nothing. Searching, I discover that this just seems to be a less than half arsed meme, with very little traction, unworthy of any mention at all. The redirect is no use. Anybody following it (not that anybody probably ever would) would wind up on a page with nothing matching the name they were interested in, bemused and possibly wondering what on earth they are doing with their life to have reached such a sorry state. --DanielRigal (talk) 19:26, 14 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Delete per nom; Rules 3,4,5 for Deletion as per WP:Redirect apply, this looks like spam, how do we nominate for speedy deletion? Klichka (talk) 20:02, 14 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Delete per nom; also probably meets speedy criteria under G10. RA0808 talkcontribs 22:28, 14 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Delete per nom, not a listing of made up acronym variants. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 10:13, 15 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Comment I have been told by a few unconnected people that they were aware of this parody of the name, therefore added it as a redirect as I believed it to be a well known term which is why people would look it up. I didn't mean to cause any offence or vandalism and I apologise for any trouble caused. Cexycy (talk) 22:48, 15 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Delete all as unlikely search terms which pollute the namespace. We can keep just Post-invasion Iraq and American occupation of Iraq. Amazingly, some of these beauties were created in 2006,[1] by an editor predicting a long war. A rare case where the good'ole WP:Crystal Ball actually worked! • Keep Rules don't apply to redirects and Burgershot is iconic to the GTA Series showing up in Vice City and then being expanded in GTA San Andreas before becoming a staple parody restaurant of the franchise. Unless you can create an article about another Burger Shot then I say keep it. The rules don't apply to redirects and the rules for redirects seem to apply here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Klichka (talkcontribs) 19:57, 14 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

unlikely search term Ten Pound Hammer(What did I screw up now?) 06:11, 14 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Weak retarget to List of assets owned by Walmart. Seems that in 2008, this redirect was an article merged into Walmart, but the content that was merged seems to no longer be present. However, it seems that content eventually ended up in List of assets owned by Walmart. (I'm "weak" becayse I have no strong opinion about it being deleted instead, but there may also be a more applicable retargeting option.) Steel1943 (talk) 06:33, 14 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Giving this some thought, if the edit history of this redirect can be moved elsewhere in the "article" namespace, I think my preferred opinion on this is "delete per WP:NAVELGAZING". Steel1943 (talk) 15:45, 14 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was delete. It's a shame I had to break the Internet, but consensus is in favor of deletion as a useless redirect. -- Tavix (talk) 18:38, 23 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Seems unnecessary since Bug (album), a redirect to the same target, exists. Steel1943 (talk) 05:04, 14 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep we have a standard that we have (dab) links to dab pages without the extension. And in this case the redirect has been there for over 9 years. There is only harm in deleting. All the best: Rich Farmbrough, 20:04, 14 October 2017 (UTC).[reply]

The result of the discussion was trainwreck, again. In the previous discussion I noted that these deserve individual discussion as they are much too different to discuss batched. As we've seen below, this is still too big a batch. Moving forward, I'm going to carry out Patar knight's suggestions. Again, no prejudice against speedy individual renomination if any of them still need more discussion. -- Tavix (talk) 18:13, 23 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Leftovers from a previous discussion: Unnecessary WP:GAMECRUFT-esque redirects and sometimes unofficial names for certain items. Inviting previous contributors: @The1337gamer, AngusWOOF, VQuakr, Matthew hk, and Zxcvbnm. Lordtobi () 08:40, 7 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete all None of them seem like particularly pressing redirects that couldn't be handled by the search engine of Wikipedia.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 18:01, 8 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep Manhack and Manhacks, delete the rest as WP:TNT as there are no significant mentions in any of the articles. Yes, the spectrometer is mentioned briefly but in passing, and is not key to anything past the intro. There is a resistance group but no formal name behind them. Leviator is a misspelling of levitator and seems to be more connected to Doom 3 so that should be renamed if it is to stick around. The others aren't mentioned in the verbiage for the summary or gameplay or characters. There are plenty of skirmishes in Black Mesa and City 17, given the game is an FPS, that there isn't a single event labeled as such that is highlighted in the article. • Retarget
  • Refine
  • Rename the ionized plasma levitator redirects to Ionized plasma levitator to fix the spelling error, since they are mentioned in the Doom 3 section on that page (perhaps refine the new redirect)
  • Keep
    • The Camp 17/Black Mesa redirects as they deal with important elements in the plots of those games or alterantive redirect them to their sections in Locations of Half-Life, which deals with them irrespective of game entry.
    • Anomalous materials, since it's mentioned in the plot section, or retarget to Locations_of_Half-Life#Black_Mesa_Research_Facility where it is mentioned in the caption.
    • The Manhack(s) redirects since it's mentioned in the gameplay section
    • The Resistance redirect, since the HL2 article mentions the resistance multiple times throughout.
    • Anti-Citizen One, since it's a term used to refer to Freeman, [2], and is a reasaonble search term since it's also a level name, [3] though I'm not sure where exactly it should be inserted into the article.
  • Delete Grav jumping, which seems to be a multiplayer term, [4] and we don't cover HL2 multiplayer. ---- Patar knight - chat/contributions 17:16, 16 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Baby [insert species here]" makes no sense as a redirect, it falls more under WP:GAMEGUIDE, as do all the fictional HL monster names. "Anti-Mass spectrometer" also has no place in the encyclopedia as it could be confusing to those searching for mass spectrometer. Ultimately, all of these without exception are overly crufty.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 12:34, 21 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

    • Doesn't matter on the English Wikipedia what other organisations use. Delete. Sjö (talk) 08:49, 7 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak delete since Spanish is an official language of the European Union, not Sweden itself. Steel1943 (talk) 22:01, 7 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep as the name in Latin, which was presumably the prime literary language of the kingdom for quite a bit of its history. An alterantive would be retargeting to Name of Sweden. – Uanfala 22:57, 7 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to name of Sweden where it is actually mentioned and discussed. Consistent with previous outcomes on foreign language names of countries, about which there's something encyclopedic to say (e.g. Betonamu). Redirects shouldn't try to be a poor man's version of Wiktionary. 59.149.124.29 (talk) 03:59, 8 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Midland Railway 2501 and 2511 Class locomotives[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was no consensus. -- Tavix (talk) 18:33, 23 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect about two articles 2501 & 2511 but redirects to the latter. Both the articles were merged once but now they're split so the redirect won't be necessary. — Zawl 08:38, 26 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget to Locomotives of the Midland Railway or Locomotives of the Midland Railway#Engines built by the Midland (the relevant section of that article). This was the location of the article from August 2012 until yesterday, so there is a very significant likelihood of there being incoming links from external sites (and possibly offline sources too) that will be unnecessarily broken if the redirect is deleted (this is why we normally keep redirects following page moves). There is an XY issue following the split, but I think the best way to resolve this is to retarget to the article (or section) which functions as an index to the articles about these classes of locomotives so readers can easily find the article about whichever class they are looking for. To forestall any arguments about leaving people to the search engine, it is very likely (but partially dependent on things like what device they are using) that people following direct links to the page from other internet sites will not see search results directly but will be informed the page has been deleted and will be given several options, one of which is to search for that article title, if they choose that (and assuming the search engine is not broken) the results may or may not include the desired targets prominently (or at all). Thryduulf (talk) 10:32, 26 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • It looks like the incoming links for this are cleared, so Move to Midland Railway 2501 Class locomotives as Midland Railway 2511 Class locomotives already exists. This will handle the searches. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 14:27, 27 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
    • Only from present revisions of pages on the English Wikipedia. We have no easy way of identifying links in old revisions, we have no way of knowing pretty much at all about links from elsewhere. Thryduulf (talk) 20:04, 27 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep as an R from Move and put {{hatnote|"Midland Railway 2501 and 2511 Class locomotives" redirects here. See also Midland Railway 2501 Class}} at Midland Railway 2511 Class locomotives. (Although I'm equally happy with Thryduulf above). Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 05:53, 29 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
