Non-notable game hack that is no longer mentioned in target article (forgot to nominate this along with Dance Dance Revolution EXTREME Plus!). SoledadKabocha (talk) 18:55, 12 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

(Clarification: "hack" as in "mod," not as in a security issue (exploit/vulnerability). --SoledadKabocha (talk) 15:23, 15 March 2017 (UTC))[reply]

  • Delete This is the same as the previous RFD but with a different stylization. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 03:51, 16 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Prostitution in Ghana[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was procedural close. As this concerns the title of an article, it should be handled at WP:RM. -- Tavix (talk) 21:08, 20 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Prostitution in Ghana should either be retargeted into Sex trade in Ghana or be retitled Prostitution in Ghana as it is about the same subject the sex industry in Ghana. Dwanyewest (talk) 17:43, 12 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I really intended this article Sex trade in Ghana to be about prostitution and thought sex trade is a good a descriptor and then realized that Prostitution in Ghana would be a more appropriate title. Dwanyewest (talk) 15:22, 13 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
As with the other RFD article, this should be closed and resubmitted as an RM. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 05:30, 16 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was keep. -- Tavix (talk) 19:33, 20 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is not a FAQ website Flow 234 (Nina) talk 12:21, 12 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Note I've added Why is the sky blue (without the question mark) to this nomination as they should be considered together. I've also adjusted the nomination to make it clear both redirects target the colour section of the target article. Thryduulf (talk) 12:37, 12 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • strong keep both. These are well-used redirects (180 hits between them last month, over 87,000 last year) that take people to the content they are looking for. WP:NOTFAQ is a policy about article content (made even clearer by being in the "Encyclopaedic content" section of the policy page), which the target article is in full compliance with, not about article titles or redirects. Redirects are intended to help people find the encyclopaedic content they are looking for, even if they do so using a non-encyclopaedic search term. Deleting these would hinder people's ability to find the article without bringing any benefits at all. Thryduulf (talk) 12:37, 12 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak Keep due to these being the result of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Why is the sky blue?. WP:NOTFAQ de facto applies to redirects; there was consensus against Wikipedia talk:What Wikipedia is not/Archive 48#RfC: Should we add a footnote to WP:NOTHOWTO/WP:NOTFAQ stating that it does not apply to redirects?, a proposal to clarify that it does not apply to redirects, and there is a lot of precedent for deleting redirects based on NOTFAQ (e.g. many of the discussions at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2015 August 7). However, sometimes these are deemed useful through discussion, and kept. — Godsy (TALKCONT) 16:54, 12 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • keep agreeing with the rationales put forward by Thryduulf and Godsy. Additionally, the algorithms that get people from search terms to results will do particularly well with this exactly-worded exceptionally popular question. If we want to make an article for the question because it's popular in its own right and have it link to the answer plus expound on the question, that would be fine, but our 2015 AFD didn't arrive at that conclusion. -- ke4roh (talk) 22:16, 12 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - Thryduulf has it exactly right. They're unconventional redirects, to be sure, but also demonstrably useful. No reason to make things more difficult for our readers. – Juliancolton | Talk 02:53, 13 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment the Sky blue article has a hatnote to Rayleigh scattering for "Why is the sky blue?". AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:00, 13 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per general history of keeping FAQ redirects when the target answers the frequently-asked question, as this one does. Rayleigh scattering likewise has a #Cause of the blue color of the sky section which links this target as a main article. Both articles answer the question (one in the lede, one in the first paragraph following the lede) so there's no strong reason to change from one to the other. Jagex Tower[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. On the off chance that "Jagex Tower" winds up actually being mentioned in the Jagex article, then a REFUND may be given. As it stands, the fact that it isn't mentioned means more weight to the delete camp. Primefac (talk) 02:41, 27 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Delete: There is no such thing as a/the "Jagex Tower". Lordtobi () 10:46, 12 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete Building name is not notable. Looks like a fan-fiction title [1]. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 03:54, 16 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - A redirect doesn't have to be notable. If it's something that somebody is likely to search for, it's acceptable. – Juliancolton | Talk 18:23, 16 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. No information about this tower exists at the target article, so anyone searching for it will end up disappointed. -- Tavix (talk) 19:29, 20 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per Tavix. Steel1943 (talk) 20:08, 20 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Delete: Implausible search term, "Jagex" etymology debated, and Wikipedia is not an ad where you can search for slogans. Lordtobi () 10:45, 12 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep - mentioned in the lead and history sections. — Godsy (TALKCONT) 22:42, 12 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep and add {{R to acronym}} AngusWOOF (barksniff) 05:33, 16 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep as it's explained in the lede of the article. It's sourced as a slogan, and if there are any issues with the veracity of that, they should be addressed in the article text. – Uanfala (talk) 15:15, 19 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Delete: Target holds no information on this item, other than a mention. Lordtobi () 10:44, 12 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment he's a founder and also worked on the RuneScape video game with the notable Gower. Business articles also show Andrew and Paul as the primary developers on RuneScape. Is that enough to hang his redirect to this company? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 03:05, 16 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep as co-founder of the company. -- Tavix (talk) 19:25, 20 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak keep as the current target seems to have the most relevant content in comparison with the other articles where he's mentioned. He's mentioned at RuneScape, but his involvement with it is already covered at the current target. Andrew Gower has a sentence or two near the beginning mentioning Paul and linking to the other two articles, and as this is the article that comes up first in the search results, deleting wouldn't be particularly harmful. – Uanfala (talk) 21:36, 29 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
