The result of the discussion was delete. -- Tavix (talk) 22:57, 10 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Both sections have been eliminated at target. --Nevéselbert 16:41, 1 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Weak delete there are other presidencies that use this format, but given there isn't a separate section anymore, this isn't terribly useful. The articles that link to these can be redirected to the inauguration or election sections. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 22:16, 1 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Polan[edit]

The result of the discussion was Move Polan (disambiguation) to Polan. (non-admin closure) Steel1943 (talk) 18:12, 10 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

(eubot). I'm wondering whether this is more likely as a misspelling/typo of Poland, a rather larger place. It's hatnoted, but not to anything near Poland. Si Trew (talk) 08:20, 25 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus.

Women politicians.[edit]

The result of the discussion was Speedy delete per WP:CSD#G6 (page obviously created in error) and WP:CSD#G7 (creator request). Thryduulf (talk) 00:07, 2 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Redundant to Women politicians - and by the creators own edit summary, a typo. No needed. Avicennasis @ 01:32, 3 Tevet 5777 / 01:32, 1 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete housekeeping, implausible typo with the ., and per creator request. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 22:18, 1 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Jim Cameron[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was keep. -- Tavix (talk) 18:10, 10 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Retarget to James Cameron? He goes by Jim Cameron on Twitter. --Nevéselbert 01:00, 1 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep - The redirect is helpful as is, and the famous film director is much more widely well known as "James Cameron" than anything else anyway. CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 10:52, 3 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep: James Cameron has top place on the dab page, but there are several other Jim's, which seems a good balance. PamD 10:55, 3 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak support. The three other Jims with this name don't appear very notable (footballer/politician/water polo player) and if I search Jim Cameron on Google I mostly do get James, yes. But this really doesn't seem like a very common name for him, thus my hesitancy to fully support. Nohomersryan (talk) 13:57, 6 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

IRA[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was Retarget to Ira#IRA 2 per WP:DUPSECTNAME. Thanks to Coupdeforce whose comment made me do some research about why they said "IRA 2" instead of "IRA" as a section redirect. In related news, their comment resulted in me creating the redirect WP:DUPSECTNAME, as well me making a series of edits on Help:Link to make the information regarding linking to a duplicate section name on a page easier to find. (non-admin closure) Steel1943 (talk) 17:48, 10 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Retarget to Irish Republican Army? A hatnote can be added for those looking for Individual retirement account. --Nevéselbert 01:00, 1 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget per nom, it's the most likely search result. st170e 21:34, 1 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep or Retarget to Ira#IRA. Individual retirement account is just a likely search term as Irish Republican Army. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 22:20, 1 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Refine to Ira#IRA. I would have assumed that Irish Republican Army would be the primary topic by far, but looking at actual search results tells a very different story with no clear primary topic. Thryduulf (talk) 00:11, 2 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to Ira#IRA_2. I was looking for Individual retirement account. There is currently no disambiguation page, or any other clear instruction for novice users, to help remember what IRA stands for in order to find the correct article. Coupdeforce (talk) 22:19, 3 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Refine to Ira#IRA per Thryduulf.— Godsy (TALKCONT) 04:17, 7 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Assad[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was Keep Assad, retarget Al-Assad and Al Assad to Al-Assad family. (non-admin closure) AddWittyNameHere (talk) 01:47, 10 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Should be retargeted to the Syrian tyrant, per WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT. --Nevéselbert 01:00, 1 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget the first and add hatnote per WP:PTOPIC, currently neutral in regards to the others. - CHAMPION (talk) (contributions) (logs) 01:13, 1 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep the first. Retargeting it to Bashar al-Assad would be an example of WP:RECENTISM. We can retarget the second two to Al-Assad family, since they're the only people of that name mentioned at Asad. - Eureka Lott 01:05, 2 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support EurekaLott's proposal. Retargeting it to Bashar al-Assad would be recentism, especially when the rule of his father Hafez disqualifies him from being the primary topic. ---- Patar knight - chat/contributions 03:05, 2 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support EurekaLott's proposal per their proposal and Patar knight. Thryduulf (talk) 20:35, 2 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment seeing how this Rfd is going thus far, have added a hatnote at Asad for those looking for either president.--Nevéselbert 00:10, 3 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • I also support the aforementioned proposal, and I agree that we should be wary of falling into WP:RECENTISM. CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 10:51, 3 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
