Unhelpful cross-namespace redirect. Redirects to the Wikipedia namespace are excluded from WP:CSD#R2. 24.205.8.104 (talk) 20:50, 18 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. Normally these sorts of redirects are because someone accidentally created or moved the page to the wrong namespace and the redirect is left from when it gets fixed. Those can be speedy deleted per WP:CSD#G6 (page created in the wrong namespace). However on this occasion the page was created correctly and then moved to article space - it wasn't vandalism (so it can't be speedily deleted under criterion G3) it was moved in good faith. So I'm left with just delete as I can't see how it meets any speedy criteria. It may start snowing though. Thryduulf (talk) 21:32, 18 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per Thryduulf. Pianoman320 (talk) 20:51, 23 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - Protocol for these kinds of redirects seem clear. CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 07:02, 24 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Wycliffe Associates[edit]

Delete. Wycliffe Associates and Wycliffe Bible Translators USA are two separate organizations. It is misleading and inaccurate to direct Wycliffe Associates searches to the Wycliffe USA organization page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.12.63.253 (talk) 20:02, 18 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. A redirect since 2005, it was blanked in April by an IP that geolocates to Wycliffe Bible Translators with the edit summary that Sro23 quotes above. An IP from the same range blanked again today. The statement in the April edit summary can be verified by Christianity Today (7 March), who writes

... Wycliffe Associates (WA)—a smaller and separate organization from Wycliffe USA (the American chapter of Wycliffe Bible Translators)—is leaving Wycliffe Global Alliance (WGA), a partnership of more than 100 Bible translation agencies around the globe.

A plausible new target is not found among the few that mention Wycliffe Associates. Sam Sailor Talk! 21:08, 18 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Oklahoma Sports Museum[edit]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Jim Thorpe Association#Oklahoma Sports Museum.---- Patar knight - chat/contributions 23:26, 25 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Delte, since the redirect is quite misleading. RekishiEJ (talk) 17:17, 18 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Fair point, but a better option than deleting would be to retarget the redirect to List of museums in Oklahoma. – Muboshgu (talk) 17:27, 18 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget per Muboshgu. It's also confusing that Warren Spahn Award mentions both Oklahoma Sports Museum (Territorial Capital Sports Museum in Guthrie, OK) [1], and Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame (Jim Thorpe Museum & Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City, OK) [2], when they are two different museums. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:41, 18 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Create article. I might look into creating one towards the end of the week, but if I (or someone else) don't get around to it, I'll advocate for a redlink deletion. -- Tavix (talk) 20:44, 18 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • It turns out that I couldn't find as many sources as I thought I could, but I did find one that says that it's operated by the Jim Thorpe Museum. I've created a section at Jim Thorpe Association#Oklahoma Sports Museum, and the redirect should be retargeted there. -- Tavix (talk) 20:38, 22 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Final Fantasy loveless[edit]

WP:NOTWIKIA. I consider myself a Final Fantasy fan, but had to look up Loveless, a fictional literary work from one of the games. It's not covered anywhere on Wikipedia; it's too detailed a topic. BDD (talk) 14:10, 18 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Our friends at Final Fantasy Wikia claim it's a major motivating factor for Genesis, the antagonist of the game that's the current target. If that's true, is it worth keeping and adding a sentence to the plot section? ---- Patar knight - chat/contributions 14:56, 18 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment I've added Loveless to the DAB page. It needs to be mentioned in the Crisis Core page if you want the redirect to stay around. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:27, 18 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete for now per WP:NOTWIKIA until a cited mention in the target shows that this is indeed relevant outside of the game. I remember the novel but I think that its only contribution to the plot is that Genesis' dialogue is peppered with passages from it. --Lenticel (talk) 10:25, 21 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

NICSICSC[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete. Discussions about the viability of the draft should be taken up on the author's talk page.---- Patar knight - chat/contributions 23:30, 25 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Implausible redirect. This was actually created as an article for the 14th season of "NCIS", well before the season has started, but contained some dubious sourcing for the only listed episode's title so it has been redirected. However, the redirect is implausible as it's just a random use of the letters C, I, N and S. AussieLegend () 11:41, 18 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete the only non-Wikipedia use I can find is as part of "NIC/NICSI/CSC" on a page called "Technical Problem Reporting Guidelines - lmk helpdesk" deep on the Government of India's website. Thryduulf (talk) 12:37, 18 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete implausible typo / nonsense and housekeeping. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:06, 18 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment. Normally, redirecting something and then immediately nominating the redirect for RFD is bad practice, and usually results in the former content being restored. This is a weird situation though: even if we decide to restore the the information (probably so it could be AFD'd in the proper venue), it should be under a different title since this string of letters makes no sense. -- Tavix (talk) 20:39, 18 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
    • Just to clarify, I redirected the article thinking the first four letters were "NCIS" in that order, assuming that the title was some obscure acronym like "NCISNOLA" or "NCISLA". It was only after I redirected the page that I realised the letters were "NICS", and with that the redirect made no sense at all. I still don't understand why the article was created at that page. The creator originally created it at User:NCIS (season 14), which was a lot closer to the actual location where the page will eventually be. --AussieLegend () 20:48, 18 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • I appreciate the clarification. I don't have a problem with the deletion, I just wanted to point out that RFD usually isn't in the business of deleting article content. -- Tavix (talk) 23:21, 18 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
That looks like the creator's intent. [3] This was just a filler name until the editor could do it. The editor also tried to create the article in their own userspace. [4] So this would be appropriate housekeeping deletions. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 18:47, 19 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Looking at the history, it seems he actually created it at User:Babelcolour5/NCIS (season 14) and then moved it to User:NCIS (season 14). He then created NICSICSC and moved User:NCIS (season 14) back to User:Babelcolour5/NCIS (season 14). --AussieLegend () 19:05, 19 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was retarget Idealogues so that both redirect to Ideology. -- Tavix (talk) 17:56, 27 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

These should obviously not point to different places, but I'm not sure which is best - or even if there is a good target at all? Both are originally Neelix redirects, but Idealogue was retargetted in 2008 by Adoniscik. Thryduulf (talk) 10:11, 18 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Exacerbate[edit]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Exacerbation. --BDD (talk) 18:54, 27 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

These Neelix redirects are not pointed at the right place in my opinion. My first thought was to change the first to a soft redirect to Wiktionary and point the others at it, however I then discovered we have Exacerbation, which is itself essentially just a dicdef article, so I've come here seeking additional views on the best target. Thryduulf (talk) 10:05, 18 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget per nom. If this isn't considered thorough enough, we can add a Wiktionary box. ---- Patar knight - chat/contributions 14:37, 18 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
    • I'm the nominator and I'm not clear what you mean by "retarget per nom"! Could you please clarify if you mean reatarget to exacerbation or retarget to wiktionary (as a soft redirect). Thanks. Thryduulf (talk) 20:26, 18 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
      • Apologies. When I want to retarget to Wiktionary, I will always say "Soft Redirect to Wiktionary". ---- Patar knight - chat/contributions 23:51, 18 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to exacerbation. When we do have local content, we should be redirecting there, not Wiktionary. -- Tavix (talk) 18:16, 27 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was speedy delete per WP:CSD#G4 and WP:CSD#G10. I've also salted the title for year. Thryduulf (talk) 08:39, 18 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Potential WP:BLP violation. Unless we create some article like List of nicknames given by Donald Trump, then I don't think we should have pages like this. FallingGravity (talk) 05:05, 18 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
