Redirects in Korean to languages that have nothing to do with Korean; delete because of WP:RFFL. — Gorthian (talk) 21:46, 9 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. If these were languages spoken in Korea then there would be an argument for a redirect from the (correct, I have no idea if these are) names in Korean, however as these are languages of South America, China and Malawi respectively WP:FORRED clearly applies. Never linked and unlikely to be useful in the future. There is no such concept as "Super Mario All-Stars format" and anyone interested would read the main article and find the relevant link. czar 09:32, 1 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. Non existing concept. I'm not in favor of changing the redirect to Super Mario All Stars, because it doesn't use a "unique" format, which would make sense to keep a redirect if it did. I think the three hits a day are mostly like through people typing in "super mario all..." and seeing Super Mario All Stars format pop up in the search box. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 06:33, 15 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - I agree that this just isn't a helpful redirect. CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 03:04, 16 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The targets here are all places that have nothing to do with the Korean language or Korea, so they need to be deleted per WP:RFFL.

  • Delete Someone making up implausible nonsense by badly respelling English words in hangul. E.g. 리붤 which appears in the Ub (river) redirect is literally "ri-bwol", but there's no such word in Korean; the word for river is . 210.6.254.106 (talk) 05:44, 9 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

These are all Korean-language redirects to films that don't have any connection to that language. Per WP:RFFL, they should be deleted. — Gorthian (talk) 03:18, 9 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Dorso-lateral[edit]

The result of the discussion was retarget and keep, respectively, so both are pointing to Anatomical terms of location. It has been determined here that "dorso(-)lateral" is used as an anatomical term, but not as a phonetic term. -- Tavix (talk) 17:29, 17 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

These should not point to different places, and I'm not convinced either is correct. They were both created by Neelix in 2007 pointing to Dorsal consonant but the latter was retargetted by Richiez in 2009. As far as I can tell, "dorsolateral" and "dorso-lateral" are terms unused in linguistics, indeed the only significant use I can see for either spelling is as part of Dorsolateral prefrontal cortex so I would suggest retargetting both there. Thryduulf (talk) 23:10, 30 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Dorsal lateral is conceivable as a phonetic term (even if it's vague), but dorsolateral isn't. That leaves the anatomical term: both its components are explained at the current target, and it's itself given as an example in Anatomical terms of location#Combined terms. Uanfala (talk) 06:52, 31 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Isn't the google test convincing? Even if I search for "dorsal lateral consonant" I see very few results where "dorsal lateral" is used for the type of consonant. I won't oppose a disambiguation page for "dorsal lateral" as it appears to exist but a "dorsolateral" consonant doesn't exist afaics. Richiez (talk) 14:18, 3 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Dorso-palatal[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was retarget to Palatal consonant. This was a toss up since most participants agreed that either target is acceptable and all participants expressed uncertainty in their suggestions. However, a majority suggested Palatal over Dorsal, so I'm going to default to the majority here. -- Tavix (talk) 17:41, 17 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

These redirects point to a target that is not exactly wrong, but I think retarggeting them to Palatal consonant might be better, however I'm not confindent enough in my understanding of linguistics to do so boldly. I will alert the linguistics project to this discussion. Thryduulf (talk) 22:56, 30 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Either target (dorsal consonant or palatal consonant) is conceivable, but I think dorsal consonant is slightly preferable. The most common dorsal consonants are palatal (if I'm not mistaken), and palatal consonant is prominently linked within the dorsal consonant article. It may be that dorso-palatals are the most common palatals (I'm not sure), but palatals also include apico-palatal and retroflex consonants, as well as a common semivowel. Full disclosure: I have advanced degrees in linguistics, but phonetics is not my strong suit. Cnilep (talk) 04:49, 1 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Dorsal includes velar and uvular consonants. If something is dorsal and palatal, I would think that palatal would be the better target here. — Ƶ§œš¹ [lɛts b̥iː pʰəˈlaɪˀt] 18:35, 1 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
