The result of the discussion was keep. --BDD (talk) 19:59, 15 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Having created Thatcher's Britain with "Britain" grammatically capitalised, I see no reason as to why this ungrammatical redirect should be kept. --Neveselbert 16:33, 8 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • keep This is both a {{R from move}} and a {{R from other capitalisation}}, both of which are normally kept unless they are actively harmful - not the case here. Thryduulf (talk) 20:45, 8 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - This is not actively harmful. I'd seriously consider a keep !vote even if this wasn't a redirect from a move, but the fact thet this is a redirect from a move makes this clear. Tazerdadog (talk) 22:51, 8 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per above. --Lenticel (talk) 12:04, 11 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Mercaz[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete. Because we can't quite agree on appropriate targets for these. Deryck C. 13:44, 16 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I speak zero Hebrew, but AFAIK "mercaz" is just an alternative transcription of an ordinary Hebrew dictionary word מרכז (which Wiktionary translates as "centre"). "Mercaz" is a WP:PTM for a few articles, e.g. Mercaz Clal (a shopping centre), none of which appear to be the WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT. MERCAZ is the name of an organisation (which isn't always written in all-caps, e.g. [1]) but I don't see it mentioned at the target. Not too sure what to do with these. 210.6.254.106 (talk) 08:51, 8 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Also, for what it's worth, Merkaz (apparently another transcription of the same Hebrew word) is a redlink. 210.6.254.106 (talk) 08:54, 8 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Mercaz/Merkaz indeed means "Centre" As such, it is used often in Israel to denote the Central District (Israel). The redirect to a particular educational institution with the grand name "Central Yeshiva of the World" (!) seems not justified. Debresser (talk) 09:54, 8 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • I would suggest redirecting all three to Central District (Israel) as the most common meaning of the term in Israel. Number 57 11:14, 8 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I'm okay with Central District, but it should have a "redirects here" note and maybe a wiktionary box? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:17, 8 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I would not redirect these to Central District (Israel), because then it should be "HaMerkaz", with the definite article. I propose to just delete this. Debresser (talk) 17:18, 8 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Are there enough institutions to create a dab page as with Mercado? HaMerkaz sounds fine as well; that is more specific to the District and as primary topic. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:21, 8 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Every student in any institution that has "Centre for..." in its name could use "HaMerkaz" in short. It would be completely unclear to any outsider what centre they were referring to. The claim that this term, with or without the definite article, would refer only to the yeshiva in question, is as preposterous as the grand name mentioned above. :) Debresser (talk) 22:44, 8 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - Given the ambiguous situation, it seems best to just let people search. CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 02:55, 16 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
