The result of the discussion was retarget to polio vaccine per WP:SNOW and WP:COMMONSENSE. (non-admin closure) -- Tavix (talk) 16:03, 24 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Propose retargeting to Polio vaccine because that's a synonym, while poliomyelitis eradication is a broad healthcare effort involving many areas unrelated to vaccination, such as sanitation and epidemiology. Listing here because the current target is not entirely unreasonable. NYKevin 22:55, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Paul Revere#"Midnight Ride". --BDD (talk) 13:36, 30 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, so after thinking about this for a while, and after an whit that removed the {{R from quote}} tag from one of these redirects, I'm going to bring these here. Multiple sources say that Paul Revere never said this phrase, so redirecting it to him may not be appropriate. The two redirects targeted Paul Revere's Ride for almost a decade, but apparently, that phrase is not in that subject (the subject is a poem). So, I'm not sure which one is the appropriate target, if any. (Also, it's worth noting that The British Are Coming (song) exists, which is a song by Weezer.) Steel1943 (talk) 17:25, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget to Paul Revere, possibly section Paul Revere#"Midnight Ride". The phrase is so popularly associated with Revere's ride that it really doesn't matter whether he actually said it or not. The section is actually quite clear that he didn't. Longfellow's poem does not include the phrase, and is a stylized account of the event which is known to be factually inaccurate. Ivanvector 🍁 (talk) 18:39, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget per Ivanvector; the phrase is too well-known to not have a page on in some form. —烏Γ (kaw), 21:04, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget per Ivanvector. --Rubbish computer (HALP!: I dropped the bass?) 10:11, 24 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget as all above. Si Trew (talk) 04:05, 25 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget per Ivanvector. --Lenticel (talk) 14:27, 25 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was speedy delete by Ponyo per criterion R2. Steel1943 (talk) 21:55, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This should not be a redirect to a user page. It was previously a redirect to an article, but I'm not sure if it is correct to redirect the page to that article. We should either retarget it to the article or delete the redirect. Stefan2 (talk) 16:59, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete Subash (whoever he might be) is not mentioned at Lionel Messi, and Google doesn't reveal any WP:RS discussing any connection between them meaning that no such mention could be added to Messi's article either. 58.176.246.42 (talk) 17:34, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per 58, speedy delete per WP:R2. I've already tagged it as so. Steel1943 (talk) 17:39, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sarrin offensive (June 2015–present)[edit]

The result of the discussion was keep. In addition to fixing the double redirect, I've tagged this with {{R from incorrect name}}. Despite the consensus to keep, it's quite obviously an incorrect name. --BDD (talk) 13:33, 30 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This title shouldn't be kept, not even as a redirect. As the offensive is finished, the title has become misleading. PanchoS (talk) 11:34, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Strong keep as {{R from page move}}ses help the 8-ish-per day readers looking for this information at the old name to find it where it was just moved to today. It's way too soon to delete this. Deleting this is very likely to break external incoming links. Ivanvector 🍁 (talk) 13:52, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per Ivanvector. --Rubbish computer (HALP!: I dropped the bass?) 10:13, 24 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment, right now, this is a double redirect to Battle of Sarrin (June–July 2015); I guess a bot would have replaced the target in the R were it not for the RfD notice. So the discussion here is a bit moot, since once the RfD removes it, the double redirect will be sorted out by a bot so that it points at Battle of Sarrin (March–April 2015) (assuming it is kept).
Sarrin offensive is an R to the DAB at Battle of Sarrin which has two entries, Battle of Sarrin (March–April 2015) and Battle of Sarrin (June–July 2015). I would say keep this for now and let the bots and let WP:MILHIST tie up the conventional titles for these kinds of things. Looking at the talk pages, it seems WP:MILHIST is already well aware of these pages (though they are not marked as {{WikiProject Military History}}; I think I will do that). Si Trew (talk) 04:16, 25 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Actually one was, one wasn't. Let MILHIST sort it out with their usual military precision; keep for now. Si Trew (talk) 04:18, 25 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

South of the passes[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. --BDD (talk) 13:31, 30 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

As a translation of , this applies at minimum to two things on Wikipedia (Yeongnam and Lingnan [1]), not to mention pretty much anything else that's south of a mountain with a pass in it. Moreover, I don't see the use of literal WP:OR-ish translations of place names as search terms, and apparently neither does anyone else: c.f. North Sea Circuit (Hokkaido), Kettle Mountain (Busan), South of the river (various Jiangnans and Gangnams), Happiness, Great River of the South (Alegria, Rio Grande do Sul), etc. 58.176.246.42 (talk) 03:06, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Inappropriate cross-namespace redirect. Stefan2 (talk) 00:11, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - should be uncontroversial maintenance, WP:XNR, left behind by an improper page move. Other than G6 I don't think any other criteria apply, as this is not in main space and wasn't obviously vandalism. Ivanvector 🍁 (talk) 01:20, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
