This redirect currently points from "Bread sandwich" directly to "Sandwich". However, I believe it ought to point to Toast sandwich, as many people (including the RSC in this article[1] describe it as an "all-bread" sandwich or something that would be made solely from bread, rather than a sandwich in general. That or there ought to be a disambiguation page. Horatio Snickers (talk) 17:33, 4 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. The sense I get is that "toast sandwich" refers to a particular kind of bread sandwich, rather than being a synonym. As the briefly-existing stub at Bread sandwich indicates, a bread sandwich involves two different types of bread, one of which could be toast, forming a toast sandwich, but which could just as easily be brown bread between white bread or similar. (It might also be the case that "bread sandwich" is sometimes synonymous with "sandwich" – e.g. "Do you mean the Earl of Sandwich?" "No, I mean a bread sandwich, the sort that you eat.") Given a choice between a broader term which may occasionally be a synonym, or a narrower one which isn't, I think the former is preferable. – Arms & Hearts (talk) 20:12, 4 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget per nom, or stubbify per AH. This could be interpreted to mean sandwiches made from bread, instead of the KFC thing that uses two chicken breasts in place of bread. -- 76.65.128.222 (talk) 04:27, 5 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. What Arms & Hearts said, plus all this makes me very hungry! Please Mr. nom do remember that to avoid totally and completely confounding those like me, the actual target is shown at the beginning.  Thank you very much! – Paine Ellsworth CLIMAX! 09:18, 6 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to Toast sandwich per nom. Obviously a sandwich specified as a "bread sandwich" is referring to a sandwich consisting of bread (or toast) as the main sandwiched component, just as a ham sandwich specifies that the main component in the middle is ham. As far as disambiguation is concerned, add a hatnote to Toast sandwich noting the redirection from "bread sandwich" to the article. Nice and simple! — |J~Pæst|  07:27, 13 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per Arms & Hearts. --BDD (talk) 18:50, 22 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Roster[edit]

This is too broad of a redirect. There are so many roster templates that having this one redirect to a specific roster seems unjustified. Beerest355 Talk 16:50, 4 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete someone is overly tunnel-visioned. -- 76.65.128.222 (talk) 06:13, 6 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. This is just the result of moves over the years to more and more specific template names, and now it's left as a template shortcut. Harmless and useful. – Paine Ellsworth CLIMAX! 09:43, 6 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Doesn't change the fact that this is a potentially confusing redirect. Someone may type this in and expect a generic roster template, but then get redirected to this one. Beerest355 Talk 18:02, 8 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • If a general roster template exists then retarget this redirect to it. Otherwise it should be left alone as useful and harmless and possessed of a useful move history. – Paine Ellsworth CLIMAX! 11:25, 10 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Sorry, Paine; not every redirect that seems harmless should immediately be kept. That is not how RFD works. — |J~Pæst|  07:13, 13 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Think again, JPæst! The "how Rfd works" (in the context of "harm") is pretty much summed up near the top of this page with, "Therefore consider the deletion only of either really harmful redirects or of very recent ones." (my emphasis) – Paine Ellsworth CLIMAX! 20:26, 14 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Yes, and not all redirects that seem harmless are actually harmless. I know all the guidelines of RFD. — |J~Pæst|  00:50, 15 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. The title is much too broad and absurdly confusing. Oh, the inconsistency really stings sometimes! — |J~Pæst|  07:13, 13 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. Delinked now. Unlikely that File:Zubair Khan will actually be searched for, for what that's worth. --Qwerty Binary (talk) 08:50, 4 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
