Myanmar national football team results[edit]

The result of the discussion was retarget. --BDD (talk) 20:25, 14 August 2012 (UTC) (non-admin closure)[reply]

This is a weird one. The current redirect is inappropriate, because there are other articles at 2009 Myanmar national football team results and 2010 Myanmar national football team results. You'd think this is an old redirect that has become outdated, but it was actually created in 2010. Absent a compelling reason to favor the 2008 results article, I recommend redirecting to Myanmar national football team or deletion, which a slight preference towards the latter. Perhaps someone intends to make this into a full article, but it doesn't seem to be part of an established set; I don't see equivalent articles for England, for example. --BDD (talk) 15:33, 30 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget per nom or disambiguate between the per year articles. I'm not seeing the lack of an equivalent for England to be any sort of reason for deletion, particularly as we routinely keep redirects we actively discourage the creation of. I wouldn't actively encourage creating redirects like this for every team in every sport, but neither would I discourage the ircreation. Thryduulf (talk) 19:59, 30 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'm boldly closing the discussion and retargeting to Myanmar national football team. I was going to expand it into a disambiguation page, but I couldn't see such a page surviving AfD; see the similar Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Gymnastics Results at the 2009-2012. Trout me if you disagree. --BDD (talk) 20:25, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Non notable database, implausible redirect Gaijin42 (talk) 15:14, 30 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom. --BDD (talk) 15:34, 30 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Most of the incoming links to this redirect are due to {{egafd name}} (in the same style as {{IMDb name}}, {{iafd name}} and {{afdb name}}), and based on the way those links are presented in the articles, it is not helpful to direct readers to Pornography in Europe. This is best redlinked. I would remark on the notion of modifying {{egafd name}} as well, but that's not something that needs to be decided before this RfD can occur. I do question whether the EGAFD is truly non-notable though, given how many similar databases we have articles for. But whether or not the database is notable enough for an article is not the primary concern as to whether this redirect is helpful or not. BigNate37(T) 20:44, 30 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was delete all. JohnCD (talk) 19:14, 6 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Delete. These are old redirects and unlikely to be remembered or used as an alternative to Sofixit or its more obvious alternatives such as {{Bebold}}. – Fayenatic London 12:58, 30 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

So why not speedy nominate these first? I don't see the point of a lengthy discussion. I created "SOF***INGFIXIT" on 23 April 2008 in a BJAODNish fashion and don't mind if it is speedy deleted.‎ Let's {{moveon}} :p. -- A Certain White Cat chi? 13:56, 30 July 2012 (UTC)
Thanks; that's gone as G7. I guess WP:CSD#T3 fits the others; should I withdraw this and use that instead? – Fayenatic London 16:53, 30 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete Goatse?? --BDD (talk) 15:34, 30 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    • An offensive in-joke, apparently. Look it up or, better still, don't. – Fayenatic London 16:53, 30 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'm afraid I know just what it is. I just don't understand how it could be an appropriate redirect here. --BDD (talk) 17:02, 30 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete all. {{Sofixit}} requires a certain measure of tact to use non-antagonistically. Using an offensive name for the template pretty much precludes said tact. I don't like the kind of mindset that these redirects encourage, it's not in the spirit of WP:EQT. BigNate37(T) 20:53, 30 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
