Can I use two infoboxes on one page?[edit]

I have a building infobox on Fraser's Million Dollar Pier but arguably Fraser's Million Dollar Pier#Ocean Park fire might benefit from an event infobox. But does that break something? Please advise and thx jengod (talk) 00:53, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Pistol Pete Oklahoma State University Mascot[edit]

I sent a very long form from you with a beautiful photograph I made of Pistol Pete in the mid 1950's in May of this year. I have yet to see it added to your listing on Pistol Pete.

I so hope you will use the photo I was only 18 when I took it. I'm 87 now...

Query on wiki user[edit]

Shantavira, please don't bite the newcomers. Solace100 didn't wikilink the article Kannur Squad, but if you look there you'll see that they are a journalist citing their own published review. Citing your own work in a Wikipedia article is regarded as editing with a conflict of interest: you are strongly encouraged to make an edit request rather than editing the article directly.

Locations[edit]

With respect to locations, does Wikipedia always provide a radio button to enable readers to hear the pronunciation of the name in the local language? For example, I went to both the city and province pages for Adana, Turkey, and found no such radio button to actually hear the pronunciation. If not, why not make that a requirement for all articles on locations when Google Translate offers translation into that language?

Thank you. I have to wonder if the previous commentator purposely ignored my limitation to languages available on Google Translate. He or she needs to read my talk post as carefully as you did. I also considered the tone of that comment rude and rash. Nevertheless, it is not my job to teach rude people manners. I am a very precise person in my writing and a published author of books, articles, lectures, book reviews, etc.

However, I am not good with internet editing. Please suggest a more detailed explanation of how to add the "Template:Pronunciation audio requested" to any given Wikipedia page. I went to that page but do not understand how to add the notice. My intention is that my suggestion only apply to proper nouns, usually geographical locations, again where the translation language appears in the list of Google Translate languages available. @EdwardLuft:We are all volunteers. It is somewhat "rude and rash" to disparage our good-faith efforts. Nevertheless, it is not my job to teach rude people manners. There is no reason to restrict this to Google Translated languages, and Google Translate may not be appropriate. Many articles provide the IPA pronunciation, and there are several good IPA reader sites on the web. In your example, Adana, the article provides aˈda.na . If you provide this to this IPA reader, it pronounces it for you. Instead adding a drive-by demand that another volunteer spend time on this, you could copy this audio output and add it to the article yourself. -Arch dude (talk)

Should categories be included in the "see also section"?[edit]

In Torpenhow Hill, the see also section includes a link to a category. Seeing it there feels so wrong, but yet I can't find anything saying that categories aren't allowed. They are not mentioned in WP:NOTSEEALSO. However, I do seem to remember that articles shouldn't go cross-namespace from somewhere, but I'm not sure if that's true either. I don't think there's a general prohibition; but in most cases any category you might want to link to will already contain the article. In this case, I think the link should be removed. ColinFine (talk) 17:22, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The best solution IMO is to create Category:Phantom geographical features and add this to it along with other entries and at least one category, which I will now proceed to do. It's not a real Cumbrian hill and the fictional locations category is wrong, so I'll deal with them too while I'm at it. Clarityfiend (talk) 05:44, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
