Hi Team,

i have crea ated new Wikipedia page on April 14, and from thaton, it will bey itthe s in Sandbox.oIly, i want to know how long it will take to pubit lismake it h or publicly visible to everyone.

added all references also. Nreddy6699 (talk) 11:43, 8 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

User:Nreddy6699/sandbox is problematic, because it starts off by saying "Tata Projects is one of the fastest growing and most admired Technology led Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) company in India. It has expertise in providing sustainable solutions in the execution of large and complex urban and industrial infrastructure projects while also demonstrating strong presence in refineries, petrochemical plants. It leverages its domain knowledge across various business segments to address the shift to clean energy to meet the nation’s Net Zero ambitions." This looks like an attempt to create a puff piece for a company. See WP:PEACOCK and WP:COI.--♦IanMacM♦ (talk to me) 11:47, 8 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It's also been deleted because it is a copyright infringement from https://www.tata.com/business/tata-projects but in any case Wikipedia is not a business directory.--♦IanMacM♦ (talk to me) 11:51, 8 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
there is no copyright infringement, TATA PROJECT is the Subsidiary of TATA Only, They Want "TATA PROJECT" WIKI, we have the rights to add there information in wiki Nreddy6699 (talk) 12:05, 8 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The only thing we have is your word that you're a company worker and not violating copyright, and unfortunately, that's not good enough. See donating copyrighted materials for how to give permission, though looking at how promotional it is, you'll almost certainly have to start from scratch anyway (you'll also have to take a look at the conflict of interest guidelines and follow them). Yes, they asked us to create wiki for their company (TATA PROJECTS) all the data shared by them only Nreddy6699 (talk) 12:02, 8 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Nreddy6699: You and Tata Projects appear to have a strong misconception of what Wikipedia is. It is not a place to promote services. If you have a conflict of interest (as you claim to be in contact with the company), you must disclose that on your user page at User:Nreddy6699. You also seem to be using the words we and us often. If you are more than one individual, be aware that sharing accounts is not permitted on here. Both you and the company should also be cognizant that if an article is written about the company, neither you or it will have control over what content goes on said article. —Tenryuu 🐲 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 12:56, 8 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Can't see previous versions of deleted article[edit]

I am trying to update a page from Grenoble on fusion power approaches that points to a page here, Horne Hybrid Reactor. The link was sent to draft and then deleted. Normally I would be able to see the older revisions (admin) but I cannot figure out how to do it in this case. Every link I click on either mainspace or draft takes me to the logs, not the source. Previously I would click on the datestamp to see that revision, but this does not appear to work in this case, perhaps due to the move? Maury Markowitz (talk) 14:42, 8 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

See WP:REFUND. Abductive (reasoning) 16:33, 8 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
There aren't any deleted revisions at the mainspace title Horne Hybrid Reactor - the redirect was suppressed in the move, so there isn't even that. Viewing deleted revisions at Special:Undelete/Draft:Horne Hybrid Reactor works as normal for me. Does going directly to the last revision here work? —Cryptic 16:46, 8 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Cryptic: Yes, that link worked, but none of the others ones work for me. I'm not understanding the first bit though, was the mainspace original a redir? Why would moving to draft remove that history in any case? Maury Markowitz (talk) 13:44, 12 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Maury Markowitz: No, it wasn't a redir. The point I was making was that, if the mainspace version had been moved to draft normally and then the redirect to draft deleted afterwards, there would be one deleted revision there (the redirect). Since it was moved without creating a redirect, there aren't any deleted revisions there at all.
So if you normally view deleted pages by going to logs and then clicking "view/undelete", there's no view/undelete link displayed because there's nothing to undelete. And since Special:Log/Horne Hybrid Reactor superficially looks like Special:Undelete/Horne Hybrid Reactor would if there was anything to undelete - except that clicking on a date takes you to that specific log entry instead of a deleted revision - that would seem to match your symptoms.
What confuses me is why Special:Undelete/Draft:Horne Hybrid Reactor isn't working for you like it is for me. I don't see anything obvious in your user js that would affect it, but could you check with it temporarily disabled by going to [1] to be sure? —Cryptic 15:21, 12 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Cryptic: The link you provided produced a list that shows version when I click them - so perhaps it is my JS? In any event, another question arises: why was it moved without a redirect? Shouldn't a draftify always leave a link to the draft? Maury Markowitz (talk) 16:02, 12 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No - rather, they never should. Links from mainspace to draft are routinely removed, and redirects speedy-deleted. —Cryptic 16:06, 12 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Policy or MOS Entry for using boroughs in lieu of a city name[edit]

Good afternoon,

Patrolling the recent changes and there is a page that is using an infobox with birthplace. In the comments, it states not to use boroughs and instead to use New York City. Is there a policy, entry in the MOS, or other prevailing consensus on using boroughs?

Thanks!- AquilaFasciata (talk | contribs) 19:25, 8 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
