Regarding new page review[edit]

@Duonaut The NPP have a large backlog, so it may not be reviewed for a while. You don't have to request review, although you could request to become autopatrolled if you are confident you are competent (generally have created about 25 articles without problems). OnlygurdeepYour draft lacked the information needed to submit it for a review, I have added it(this is provided if you create a draft via WP:AFC). However, if you were to submit it now, it would likely be declined, as you have no independent reliable sources with significant coverage of the channel- it must not merely document its existence and what it does. Please see Your First Article- writing a new article is the hardest task to attempt on Wikipedia. Third opinion on proposed deletion[edit]

Hello, Kadı has proposed the deletion of Heris Tower, claiming the building is not notable to have its own article. I have since contested the deletion, by noting that is is the 7th tallest building in Izmir as well as previously holding the title of 2nd tallest building for 13 years. Help with syntax of interlanguage link within a citation[edit]

If you want to partially do what {{ill}} does then author-link={{#ifexist:Gérald Schurr|Gérald Schurr|:fr:Gérald Schurr}}:

Concrete masonry unit[edit]

The editor who used your source, used only one edition of that source so that one edition is the only edition that should be listed as a reference in Concrete masonry unit. I have reverted your edit.

IT's not obvious why the book is listed separately as a 'source' anyway. The article cites multiple references, and I can't see why one should be treated differently from the others. AndyTheGrump (talk) 17:50, 1 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Probably because references 8, 10, and 11 are all the same source but refer to different in-source locations so to avoid unnecessary bibliographical duplication, the editor wrote one {{cite book}} template and then referred to it with {{sfn}} templates to specify which pages in the source support the text in the article. The only 'problem' that I see with this setup is that the {{cite book}} should not specify in-source locations as it does now (|pages=61–63). I have fixed that.

Page numbers are in the {{sfn}} templates which are references 8, 10, and 11 in the article. Those page numbers, 61–63, 66–68, & 68–70, if included in the {{cite book}} template are just redundant and like many redundancies, might be confusing, and are certainly clutter. It is a somewhat common practice when using short form referencing, to include the page-range of a cited journal article in a {{cite journal}} template with individually cited pages in the short-form templates. This aids those reader who attempts to get the local college library to photocopy the journal article; give the student librarian a range of pages to copy so that you get all of the article ... Nowadays, with so many journal articles available online for the price of a few coins, perhaps that practice isn't so necessary.

Using brackets[edit]

I'm looking for some advice on how to use brackets for sporting events or where I could find bracket templates? I'm thinking of making pages for team sports at the Paralympic Games, e.g. goalball, and possibly for results for any individual sports like table tennis. @SarahTHunter: When I do not know how to do something on Wikipedia, I try to find a worked example. In this case, I found a bracket in 2021 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament. Go to the section with the bracket and click on "edit" to see the source. You can copy that source into your sandbox and play with it from there. -Arch dude (talk) 19:18, 1 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
