Wikipedia review[edit]

just want to say Wikipedia is cool — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.200.54.86 (talk) 03:13, 20 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Undated Draft[edit]

I submitted Draft:Red Man Laughing to AfC like I normally do, but I noticed the alerts at WP:POD indicates that the submission is "undated". Why exactly is this specific draft "undated", does it show up at AfC like the other drafts based on time since submitting, and in the future how do I make sure that any drafts I submit have a date? TipsyElephant (talk) 14:34, 20 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'm assuming Wikipedia: WikiProject Podcasting/Article alerts is what you are referring too. It's nothing to worry about, although I don't know where the bot gets the dates from for AfC items. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 14:42, 20 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion Request in Protected Talk Page[edit]

Due to the protection on the page itself, I cannot report it there. Requesting the deletion of the "Murder" section of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Kenosha_unrest_shooting#Murder User Ɱ suggests using a new definition of murder independent of legal definition and in the face of lawsuits. Rather than delete it for obvious reasons, EvergreenFir has instead engaged in discussion and suggested the main thing stopping Wikipedia from doing as much is the lawsuits. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CoreParadigm (talkcontribs) 15:15, 20 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see any issue that would merit removing the thread, other than a suggestion that is quickly rejected by other users, with OP being suggested how to better approach it. Isabelle 🔔 18:08, 20 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The suggestion was to redefine what murder is so they can say murder on the page, a significantly less relevant discussion to the page itself than previous suggestions that were deleted prior to the semi-protection placed on the talk page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CoreParadigm (talkcontribs) 18:41, 20 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Disappearing edit?[edit]

There's an edit at the almost-bottom of this section, made at 12:05 am yesterday by an IP: Wikipedia_talk:Manual_of_Style#Proposal_E. I wanted to go to this IP's talk page. But when I go to the IP's contributions, I find that they did in fact make an edit to that page at that time, but it's a different edit in a different section: Special:Contributions/2600:1702:4960:1DE0:A83C:C5D3:22C0:A90F, and that's also the only edit that shows up in the talk page history. WTF am I doing wrong? —valereee (talk) 17:45, 20 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Valereee: The original IP edit was disallowed by the edit filter.[1] They reported it at Wikipedia:Edit filter/False positives/Reports and somebody else saved the edit.[2] Special:Contributions/2600:1702:4960:1DE0:A83C:C5D3:22C0:A90F does not show an edit at the time. Maybe you got confused by time zones. PrimeHunter (talk) 00:21, 21 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Moving content to Wiktionary[edit]

I came across the PROD-nominated title Ichnomancy. There seems to just be a definition -- it would be a good candidate for a soft redirect to Wiktionary. However, wikt:ichnomancy doesn't exist. Is there a standard way to move an article (or better yet, to request somebody else do the move), or should I just create a page at Wiktionary as if the Wikipedia article didn't exist? User:力 (powera, π, ν) 19:45, 20 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Creating an entry in Wiktionary seems a good idea, if you're sure that the word meets Wiktionary's criteria for inclusion. And if you're new to Wiktionary, better see what it says about starting a new entry. -- Hoary (talk) 11:30, 21 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Linking a local image with its Commons Counterpart[edit]

Can I get help with linking File:SantaCruz-CuevaManos-P2210651b.jpg to its counterpart on Wikimedia Commons? Thanks, Tyrone Madera (talk) 20:12, 20 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Undo[edit]

Is there a way to (easily) undo an edit on mobile? Am using Wikipedia in Chrome on Android. postleft on mobile! 20:26, 20 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Personally I use the full desktop version even on a device, scroll to the bottom of any page and click "desktop". It's much easier to undo edits IMO. 331dot (talk) 20:33, 20 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Postleftmobile, I agree with 331dot. I am an Android smartphone editor, and I use the fully functional "desktop" site, which works just fine on 2020s mobile devices. I wrote an essay, User:Cullen328/Smartphone editing. Cullen328 (talk) 04:17, 21 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, thank you both very much for your help! :-) postleft on mobile! 05:48, 21 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Postleftmobile: You may need to turn on advanced mode on Special:MobileOptions (while using the mobile view, otherwise the option won't show up). You should then see an "undo" button next to every edit while on the revision history, just like on desktop. Rummskartoffel 10:43, 21 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! I had that turned on at one point but I guess it turned off… thanks still and cheers, postleft on mobile! 20:52, 21 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
