Seems to be something I may like to visit in Hannibal, Missouri. events include: Tom Sawyer Fence Painting contest and the "Frog long jump". I see RS for it and it appears in many books. Subject is apparently the greatest athlete from the Comoros and the holder of three national records. Sourcing is weak. An ability to search French language sources may find significant coverage of this female track athlete. Held in Cork, Ireland in 2005. The article is is bad shape and fully tagged. I think a rewrite may be in order. nowhere in the article do we learn where this festival was held. The article needs to focus on the details of what this was. I see Cork Caucus repeated in multiple books. Lightburst (talk) 15:03, 7 March 2023 (UTC)

Children's musician Article does not establish notability, but artist was very notable in the 1970's and 1980's Lack of recent coverage makes finding internet sources hard. His work is sold on the Smithsonian Folkways label and Worldcat has almost a thousand listings--T1980 (talk) 21:53, 5 April 2023 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ted Jorgensen

I could do with help trying to expand the unicycling part of this article. He is notable for family connections (he is Jeff Bezos's biological father) and had a unicycling career that was making news in 1961, 1962 and 1963, but some editors don't think the 1960's part is important enough to avoid deleting this article, based on WP:1E. So I could do with help from editors who have skills in finding 1960's newspapers published in Albuquerque, New Mexico CT55555(talk) 23:43, 27 March 2023 (UTC)

I came her approximately one year ago for help referencing and rewriting an article titled Doctor of Metaphysics. If you recall I started an article on Helen Hadsell and that led me to start an article on the degree. I was impressed with the ability of those here to ferret out details.
I have a similar task here with giantology. I started an article about Giant skeletons and that led me to the term giantology and giantologist which has been in use as a term and title for at least 150 years. I understand it is a fringey and hoaxey subject, but the article states that while attempting to maintain a NPOV. It may fit NFRNGE or NHOAX as a term and I believe we should cover the subject because I think it meets our notability guide with multiple reliable sources. Bruxton (talk) 18:16, 15 May 2023 (UTC)

I could do with help improving this article, which is being discussed for deletion. Subject of the article demolished a listed pub and made news for doing so, but did so via a limited company, so a lot of the reporting is about the company he is the sole director for. He's done similar things to other pubs, but questions remain about the coverage cited so far is significant or not. Basically need more significant coverage. CT55555(talk) 14:28, 24 July 2023 (UTC)

Anna Nicole Smith: You Don't Know Me (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs|google) AfD discussion

This is a solid stub, and someone has already run down four sources in A-list publications. There is plenty of room to expand this stub. All sources are reviews of the documentary, and this reflist could use a more balanced diet, so someone experienced in television, film, and documentary articles might be able to help. The subject is also part of popular culture, so non-experts shouldn't feel put off either. Darkfrog24 (talk) 01:11, 31 July 2023 (UTC)

Thanks. That was helpful in order to get English-language sources to verify two of his diplomatic roles. The other hits I think are about someone else with the same name. I expect most of the sources about him are offline and/or Urdu, so having a tough time with this article. CT55555(talk) 01:36, 20 August 2023 (UTC)
If you can't save it here, just go to https://military-history.fandom.com/wiki/Zafar_Mahmud and asked an administrator to import it. Special:Export can export the entire edit history of the article, it only 613 KB, but only an administrator can import it on that wiki. Did you read the obituaries for the guy? They usually list the most important things in someone's life. I searched https://www.newspapers.com/ for his name and "Royal Indian Air Force" and found nothing. Concern has been expressed about WP:BLPCRIME and WP:CRIME issues about this social media influencer. There is some urgency, as this article as at WP:AFD. I've completely rewritten the article and I thought made it compliant with both of the above guidelines/policy, but comments coming in make it clear that people don't agree.

Any help in making this article compliant with WP:BLPCRIME and WP:CRIME would be very welcome.

There is lots more sources about the subject online, overwhelmingly in unreliable sources, so please don't add them in. Probably this article needs to be shorter, I'm just not sure what needs to be cut to make it compliant. CT55555(talk) 00:24, 2 September 2023 (UTC)

  • Comment. I don't think this particular article is a good candidate for ARS as the relevant policy issue at hand relates specifically to the following policy language at WP:CRIME: "Generally, historic significance is indicated by sustained coverage of the event in reliable secondary sources which persists beyond contemporaneous news coverage and devotes significant attention to the individual's role." Given that the sources on this subject are all within a recent timeframe and are exclusively connected to on-going news coverage, I don't think there is going to be way to solve the problem through adding more available RS. There has not been sufficient time for the development of other types of RS as required by this policy langue. It's a little unfair to essentially ask people at ARS to locate coverage that would be a technical impossibility to exist given that the sources about the subject are all tied up in current news events in relation to an alleged crime that has yet to go through the court system. In short not enough time has passed for sources to develop which "persist beyond contemporaneous news coverage" (which is still on-going). Let's not send the ARS team on a fool's errand. That said, anyone still wishing to attempt to address the problem is welcome to try, I just don't think its likely to be successful because the types of sources needed (ie. something other than contemporaneous media coverage) have not been published yet (if they will ever be published at all).4meter4 (talk)
CRIME is one of the special notability guidelines. It might fail CRIME but pass GNG, in which case GNG can be a valid rationale. Also, ARS is not a "team". I don't what it is, but team implies something ARS is not. -- GreenC 05:11, 2 September 2023 (UTC)
I don’t agree with that interpretation of policy at all. WP:BLP policy trumps GNG in this case and WP:BLPCRIME (and more broadly WP:NOTSCANDAL) makes the language at CRIME more prescient even than that of GNG.4meter4 (talk) 06:36, 2 September 2023 (UTC)

I was able to determine that the area is part of The Noises in the Auckland Region of NZ. I found sources which cover it in depth and others that are more cursory. I also found an image of the Ahaaha on commons. I imagine there is more that can be done but I am a lone voice in the wilderness so I will leave it to others to see if I have provided enough rs to show notability. Lightburst (talk) 18:15, 14 October 2023 (UTC)
I think you have shown notability. Given current voting results, I don't see how to overturn the deletion tide without a major change in weather. The special guideline Wikipedia:Notability_(geographic_features) warns: "aggregate sources tell us nothing about why a particular object is distinguished". This doesn't make sense to me. I started a thread at Wikipedia_talk:Notability_(geographic_features)#"distinguished". However, this special guideline has been recently actively fought over due to the roads fiasco so I expect nothing will get done. All geographic features are now under the spotlight it's a hot topic. -- GreenC 18:30, 15 October 2023 (UTC)
Thanks for the message @GreenC: - it is difficult to turn it around after multiple Delete ivotes. There may be just enough notability for this topic. Looks like quite a few diving sites talk about Ahaaha, but those are not RS. I will check out your link. I saw that List of Penthouse Pets was nominated for deletion. The article gets 1000 or more views a day. I would appreciate any help in finding sourcing. Thriley (talk) 08:35, 1 December 2023 (UTC)

Already deleted. Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/List_of_Penthouse_Pets When someone gets news coverage, does it mention they were a Penthouse Pet? Is that a notable thing the news media covers? Dream Focus 00:39, 6 December 2023 (UTC)
yep. Article from just a couple weeks ago. [1]Axl Rose accused of sexually assaulting former Penthouse model in new lawsuit 24.30.59.111 (talk) 21:05, 13 December 2023 (UTC)
I missed this. Silly deletion. Obvious cultural value, 100s of thousands of people looked at it each year. A google finds this but no longer a living document. -- GreenC 04:17, 6 December 2023 (UTC)

Does anyone know how to find additional coverage of this fictional character and not just mentions of his creator role playing as him? https://www.retromags.com/ makes me wait two minutes between each search through old gaming magazines. Does anyone know anywhere else I can search through old gaming magazines? Dream Focus 20:49, 12 December 2023 (UTC)

Gonzalo Lira is up for deletion. He’s a controversial figure so the deletion discussion is a bit of a mess. He’s got a significant amount of press out there about his life in the 1990s and 2000s. Any help with sourcing would be appreciated! Thriley (talk) 15:57, 18 January 2024 (UTC)

His books have enough coverage to have articles. I started some basic stubs for them at Counterparts (novel) and Acrobat (novel). Dream Focus 19:38, 18 January 2024 (UTC)

Rory O'Connor (filmmaker) is up for deletion. He's an award winning filmmaker and author. The article was created in 2005 and hasn't been well-sourced since then. Any help with sourcing would be appreciated! Thriley (talk) 20:40, 31 January 2024 (UTC)

This article is about an event which is possibly one of the foremost DJ competitions. At time of nomination the article was not in a good state, however I have added some further text with several supporting citations. Help to add further sources and content to improve the article would be most appreciated. ResonantDistortion 00:38, 4 February 2024 (UTC)

I managed to find multiple RS to improve the article. The military organization per se was established in 2023. I suggest that the article be sorted as Stub instead of of it being redirected to Simon Ekpa. It's a notable Article under "Military and warfare" category of Wikipedia. Many existing nations today had their Liberation Armies prior to independence according to historical trends. It has RS which will be updated by me and other editors. The subject is a developing one and hope it expands as time goes on. I wish to be closely monitored and directed as I improve the article. --Fugabus (talk) 11:23, 18 February 2024 (UTC)
